So, Big is 11 weeks old today. Is today the day?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Sunny, Yes, he hatched on March 18.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I just got what you were saying. I hope today is not the day unless they get the live feed up!! :)/:(

11:14am Jo-MD What do you think of Spunky's perch place? - he looks as though he is just hanging there on the outside of the nest. Maybe it is her/his protective spot from the 'wings'! I'm with both of you that unless live feed is up, it is going to be hard to determine if today is the day! Do you think that MsInbetween is going to beat him out & be the one to go first?

Ang, see if you can mapquest Cress Creek golf club/course. It's down the road a couple of miles past that.

DIRECTION AND MAPS ARE ON THE NCTC WEB-SITE.

NO WAY ANG, I STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET A BLOGGER NAME ON THIS SITE. I'M NOT GOOD WITH THE TECHNICAL STUFF, SO I JUST WATCH AND READ ALL THE TIME. HAVE A GOOD TIME ON MONDAY!!! MITS, WOULD BE MY BLOGGER NAME.

anonynous, You don't have to have a blogger name. Just hit the Other button, and type in any name you want! That's what I do. In the beginning you had to have a blogger name, but it changed awhile back.

1:05pm Jo-MD Sunny - you have mail.

THANK YOU SUNNY:) !!!!

Jo, Spunky is still hanging out there on the edge...

the NCTC website has good directions, go to training.fws.gov and click on guest services.

I had never even noticed that little limb sticking up there until Spunky started hanging out beside it.

Mema Jo said...

1:44pm Jo-MD Sharon - that limb is true to life's happenings-Something can be smack-dab in front of your face & you never notice it until something calls your attention to it!
MITS - I am glad you're not going to be anonymous anymore- Where are you located?
I have been viewing the other Eagle Cams on beakspeak & most of them only have 1 chick- They look so lonely since I am used to 3 in a nest!

In May, I suggested that the oldest eaglet be named "YEAGER", any takers??? Chuck Yeager, a West Virginia pilot, ret., was the first West Virginian to SOAR like an EAGLE,-----the first pilot to break the sound barrier------
WHAT WILL WE DO WHEN THEY DO SOAR ?????? (maybe we could watch the reruns?)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Norma, I think Yeager is a good name. I don't have a clue what we will do when they take flight. Sometime this month, I think, they will be turning the camera off until next year. That will be a very sad day!! I will just have to watch something else - like maybe the birds outside my window.

JO, THIS WAS ONLY MY THIRD POSTING, I DON'T KNOW WHO THE OTHER ANONYMOUS IS?? COULD NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE BLOG- SITE TIL SUNNY TOLD ME I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO THRU ALL THAT STUFF. I LIVE ABOUT AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES FROM SHEPERDTOWN, IT'S A GREAT PLACE. I LIKE TO GO UP THERE IN THE FALL. I SPEND MY SUMMERS DOWN OCEAN CITY MARYLAND, WATCHING THE DOLPHINS, SEABIRDS AND AN OCCASIONAL WHALE. :) MITS

2:02pm Jo-MD Norma, when our babies 'soar like an eagle', all of us eagleholics are going to be jumping for joy with tears in our eyes and pride in our hearts! We feel so close to them thanks to NCTC's technology & all of our friends down there in Shepherdstown.

2:09pm Jo-MD Hey there,MITS
We have a place in Fenwick Island where a good part of the summer is spent - but with 5 grown children & their families, I get bumped out a few weeks in order to give them some vacation time.

Anonymous said...

I'M 15 MINUTES FROM FENWICK ISLAND. JO, LET THE KIDS HAVE THE SUMMER. THE BEST TIME IS AFTER LABOR DAY. THE DAYS ARE WARM, THE NIGHTS ARE COOL AND THE RESTAURANTS ARE EMPTY. I STAY DOWN ALOT, BECAUSE MY HUSBAND STILL TRAVELS ALOT IN HIS WORK, BUT FAMILY AND FRIENDS KEEP ME COMPANY. NASTY DAY TODAY COOL AND RAINY. MITS:)

Hi everyone. Well as i said yesterday i finally can get online again. Sitting her with a new tower to an old desktop. I will miss my laptop but this will work for now. Sure wish we had the live cam, but at least we can keep a watchful eye every 30 secs. LOL. You all are sounding so excited about your plans to get together. I have to admit I am just a little jealous. Not only meeting some cyber friends which people occasionally do, but look at what these cyber friends have in common. You will have rasied and perhaps launched kids together..."well now don't tell mom and dad eagle I said that", they are wonderful parents and doing a great job...but what a support system they have, whether or no they know it.

3:26pm Jo-MD I am trying to reschedule a Mon. medical appointment that was 12 noon until 1:00. If there is another time selected in the afternoon, I would have no problem. However, I can always slide into Shepherstown on my own - so majority able to attend at 10am will rule & I will be ok with that.

Hello- I want to meet Steve on Monday to see the nest.Where is everyone meeting? Can anyone tag along?

After a visit to NCTC right after Easter and "falling in love" with the Eagles we check the website every day.
That nest seems "to get smaller and smaller".
Don and Arina in Colorado Springs

Mema Jo said...

3:57am Jo-MD Don & Arina: The flip side of the coin is that the eaglets get larger & larger! So glad you were able to visit at NCTC & are still checking in on the eagle cam.

Floralgirl: Would love to have you join everyone- Waiting for NILLA to blog a comment. I think she was hoping Steve could get us access to the grounds at NCTC to meet up with him. She should be checking the comments soon.

That storm must have tuckered out our eaglets today. I have noticed that since around 12:30 or so, they have really just been relaxing in the nest....probably also enjoying the cooler weather.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

God knows when to give them a break, huh? I am so envious of you guys that are meeting to see the nest. I will definitely be there in spirit though. Maybe next year, huh? :)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

It looks like they are finally up and moving about. Mighty still for a while. Glad to see them up and moving.

Mema Jo said...

5:29pm Jo-MD I'm with you, Sharon. Too still for too long! I was beginning to think that our Cam was jamed.

8:25 a.m. Sunday, Looks like breakfast has arrived. Good to see them all present and accounted for this morning.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

If it were not for the white head and tail, I don't think I would be able to tell the difference between Mom and Dad and the babies. Unbelievable how big they are in just 11 short weeks.

Steve Chase said...

For all coming Monday, the guard will explain where to go to meet up.
