SALISBURY — The National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va., is warning of low visibility on the Eastern Shore later this afternoon due to smoke from the Great Dismal Swamp fire being pushed toward the coast.
“Visibility restrictions due to the smoky haze of 1 to 5 miles can be expected across the southeastern mid-Atlantic into the afternoon,” the weather service said.
It said smoke from the Great Dismal Swamp wildfire as well as fires in eastern North Carolina will be pushed toward the Eastern Shore by midday as light southerly winds gradually become southwesterly by late morning.
People with respiratory ailments are advised to remain indoors today and motorists are urged to exercise caution in areas with smoky conditions.
Good morning, Wanda, Helen, Norma and Sharon. It is cloudy here this morning, hope the sun comes out soon. Thanks for the video, Paula, it was fun watching it over again.
Good morning all! Sound like all are up and feeling their oats this morning!
Paula, loved the video!!!! Attack of the giant spider! And, it was great to see Tiny enjoy his meal.
Mits, do not think Candy can put out fires. According to the picture of her after her latest facial....her specialty is starting fires of a different nature. LOL
Mits...so envious of your stay at the ocean. We are heading to south Padre Island early August. Taking Laurel and the boys down. Michael and family may join us as well. Wahoo!! Love nothing better that the sound of the waves!
Hey, Wanda....you are a good grandmother!!Joseph and Jacob both get on my computer.
Accidentally earned my 4th facial last night, didn't even realize it. And, I haven't even done the third yet.

Just finished talking (& seeing) everyone over in Germany. Love the technology of this age!
Morning Jo! Fantastic that you got to talk to Germany. Great way to start the day. So, how is the newest member of the family? Probably sleeping all the time right now.
Morning Dave - I just recently looked at the Cayuga eagle days 2008 pictures. America & the Golden eagle are something else for the eyes to behold. Fantastic!
Beautiful little chick Close up WOW Chicks have large webbed feet! I wonder when their neck starts stretching out? I remember the herons had their necks

Oh, Woody Fans, there is another duck on eggs on the CamClickers site, Greenville, Texas. No information posted yet about it that I could find except there is a new round of incubating going on..
I can't open up CHRISSYS HUMMERS today, anyone else having problems? Did fine yesterday, now says I have to install Active X..Grrrrrrrr
Ct Ospreys, such a close-up cam, and so beautiful, the colors and all.
Empty Mountaineer Nest...
Did any chicks at Flamingo site get lost? I see a little whitish thing in the bottom of one of the dirt ditches...not what I am thinking I hope.
magpie, I had to install the active X thing but it was no problem. I think what I had been watching before was a recording. This is so cool. They are some busy little critters.
Okay Double E Sissy, I will do that. Have to shut everything down 'cause the computer will need to restart...time for another nap for me anyway.
The Wood Duck nest is a different nest, 13 eggs were in there on May 30 - incubation takes about 30 days, so maybe by next week, we will be all ga-ga with hatching again. I just checked some of the Forum comments...
Double-E Sissy, that was a great tip! It went "just like that!" and the computer did not have to restart....
Now, back to snoozing for a bit.
COSTUME LADY: I am going to China City Buffet tonight, meeting a gal pal dispatcher from Loudoun County, and cashing in on an almost-one-year old gift certificate.... YUMM ...some crab I hope....
Everything is all PINK at Over the Water Finland...sunrise or sunset I guess.... the other Finney nest is still not working, but it looks like some progress is being made...will be interesting to see how much the chicks have grown in a week.
Finney's nest camera is broken and they have to install a new one. If you go to their site, though they have a photo gallery. You can see the three chicks in the first picture.
Double-E Sissy, I think the Anteater thing is a "Coati" - their is a link to a short video on it, and the Toucan, on the main open-up page for the Hummers...
Beautiful view of the water in the background at Scottish Wildlife Trust cam, just Solo there now. Just about evening there....think of Chrissy and Frank when you view this one, I think it is one of Chrissy's favorites!
@Good evening fowl buddies! Been lurking some today, but also busy cleaning out drawers and closets. Also tried to replicate Wanda's seafood pasta salad...invited my daughter to stop after work for a light supper...and she forgot to stop! Doesn't that beat all? Paula...talon byte neat...looked like x-ray image!

This groundhog has been last 4 yrs. 2 yards over. He has decided to dig under our fence both sides. Don't want our doggie running after him and going under fence.

My sweet daughter in law who is like a daughter to me is having surgery as we speak to take some turmors off of her spinal cord. We were hoping for benign but its not to be so. I am waiting for another phone call. She is in Coos Bay Oregon right now.
Hi Paula I have my eagle deceration you gave me on my wall right by my computer. I would like to buy the picture of the barn and tree at sunset for a donation . Is that doable. I have it as a screensaver but I would like to contribute.

Yeah, when Candy's jubby sees her...yet another Florida fire will be started!
Flamingo cam operator has zoomed in on a baby. So cute! And, so very wobbly!
Morning Jo! Fantastic that you got to talk to Germany. Great way to start the day. So, how is the newest member of the family? Probably sleeping all the time right now.

Fort St Vrain looks empty this evening, but those early morning photo pics....5 am and 7 am show both birds in the nest....
(Can anyone tell I am taking a little trip around the world?)
Things are looking pretty empty in Harrisburg, but lots of trains and traffic going by!
Barton Cove Chick looks so lonesome.
DEB - Nice thing about the slide show on the Finney nest, is that two adults are in just about every one...and a nice snow shot....
Falcons on the ledge, looks like adult, at the nest box. Harrisburg.

Hurray for Tuna!
Why, thank you Anne!
Anne, you have to come in the summer to see the lightening bugs (fireflys). I'll try to get some pics for you, if I can, when they start to come out. I haven't seen any yet.
Never had blue crab either..
Paula how long do they stay?
I had some for lunch today
split and facial is coming soon:)
Been all over the place but never seen fireflies or blue crab. I'm deprived. :(
