I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago, Sharon. The pic was getting fuzzy when they were jumping up and down in the nest. I suspect a loose connection somewhere, but I'm no expert!
Good morning everyone. I think it is a loose wire remember one of them hit the cam. They will not be able to fix it for a while. That is okay. We saw them and wish them well. Helen I will try to plan for a visit on his 3rd birthday. Have a great Friday the 13th all.
Good morning, all! If anyone plans on going to NCTC Sat., hold off until after noon--soap box derby in the morning in Shepherdstown! Vicki--that was also what messed up downtown traffic for you in Martinsburg last Sat.!!
Good Morning To All Of You! I knew it was Friday - just forgot it was the 13th until you reminded me, Ceil. This may be our lucky day & all 3 will come in at once for a meal!
Need to get my coffee - check emails & read last evening's thread..

I think I owe John an apology for my comments yesterday. I was taking my disappointment out on the wrong people. I know the crew at NCTC does a great job in providing us with the nest cams and I really appreciate it. I spent several years working for a subcontractor on a US Army contract in Huntsville, Alabama and forget all Government agencies are not the same. My most sincere apology is offered to the hard working people at NCTC.
yes, Red the fact that this nest is on Government property and after 9-11, we are lucky we can even step foot on it:), and I thank Steven for letting us do so
I wish I hadn't missed Tiny's fledge, but I guess that's the way it goes.
Had to take my old girl, Pepper (my almost-ten-years-old Italian Greyhound) to the vet for her dental, they had to pull five teeth. Poor thing is stoned out of her gourd on pain meds :(
Dauchshund owners: Does your doxie "talk"? My Amelia (aka Weenee) had been making the most interesting comments about everything! I'll have to try to get some on video and post them to YouTube. It's so funny!!
Mits You think the dolphins have it bad? Elephants gestate for **22** months!!!
Good Morning All!!! What to my wondering eyes appeared????, but an eaglet eating in a clear nest!!!!! Now that we can see, they need to "come on down!" Sorry, I was so suprised I couldn't resist! Gotta leave for work soon :>(
Gotta do stuff around the house, the landlord and the pest control guy will be here at 1030. I have crickets & sugar ants, which is fine if they stay outside, but I also have centipedes, fire ants and some kind of roach -- all in the back yard where my dogs play! I myself have an allergy to fire ant venom, after having been attacked by a nest once (it took two years for my legs to heal, on account of having an autoimmune disorder on top of the allergy).
Did anyone happen to capture *anything* of Tiny's fledge? Maybe the CCTV feed?
Thanks Steve and everyone at NCTC for another wonderful eaglet season! We know you work hard for us, and we can be quite demanding!
Thoughts to all of those in need (Chrissy & Frank, etc.).
My new computer will be here Sunday, I can't wait! Talk to everyone soon...

GOOD FRIDAY 13TH MORNING TO jO, HELEN, NORMA, SHARON, PAULA, MEGAN, RED, CEIL, DELPHIA AND ANY OTHERS THAT WERE ON EARLIER. Another hot and sunny day here at the Outer Banks.
MEGAN, I don't know how you can go outside with your plants and the sun beating down on you. I just went around to see if my Gardenia bush was flowering yet and then stuck some little fences up the side of my deck and I already got a mosquito bite on the back of my leg and sweat was pouring out all over me. You must be a hearty soul.

A new skin treatment uses nightingale droppings as part of what's called a bird-poop facial. (WNYW Image) SideBar
NEW YORK (MyFoxNational) -- This ain't your mother's facial.
Gone are the days of mud masks or cucumber slices over the eyes. These days, the new rage in skin care is a bird-poop facial.
This is not a typo.
New York spa Shizuka offers a Japanese treatment called the Geisha Facial, which might sound more tolerable when its main ingredient is described more properly as nightingale droppings.
MORNIN' CANDY!!----I didn't mean to overlook you!!----MEGAN is a WORKER!!----She raises such beautiful flowers & she is so beautiful too!---Bet you are enjoying this leisure time!!---It's hard to decide what to do first---isn't it!!---JUST RELAX & ENJOY!!
Good morning all!! My boys are gone, just left. Now I go into the recovery mode. Time to rest! LOL Oh, they loved the swimming eagle videos, specially the one to the Rocky tune!
If it is okay with you, Mits, I think I will pass on the facial. :) Let me know how it turns out and then I will consider it. You go first!!!!
Norma - I know how I feel if the washing machine overflows to the floor - I just cannot imagine the feeling you have with Flood Waters. Devastating to say the least.
MORNIN' LOLLY---I have been thinking of you this am---wondering if you still have your grand kids with you!---I LOVE MINE MORE THAN LIFE-----& they are LOTS OF FUN--but I need a small time out-period after they leave------
Norma....AMEN! Those little guys are the greatest and just more fun, but I have to admit, I am exhausted. My stamina though, is not what it usually is. Laurel did great though, she cleaned up all the toys before she left. I will see them again Sunday at Michael's, our son. We are all going over there for Father's day.
Watching the PA falcons. Looks like only one left. It was on the very edge, flapping wings and making a hold racket! Whoops...I think it is gone now as well.
Good Morning Megan, Sharon, Mits, Paula, Norma (sorry I worried you), HV, Ceil, Deb, Jo, Red (great write up Red), Jim, Nature, Dave and anyone I might have missed please forgive me.
I thank everyone for the comments I got to read through to get me here and the videos, also video of Tiny's fledge and Bob's pics.
Donna Dannie is in prayer.
Wanda you get money back from Comcast??? They sent it because the like you. ( :
Thanks for the Buddy update. Sounds like he is growing needing larger cage..
Spirit first flight.
Deb neat blue bill duck never seen a pic of one before ty.
Birdies flight just think 1 month older than our 1st one. 735 miles wow.
Ceil and Bev-Sissy have a good vacation.
Had heard earlier about the death of Mao Mao. The only panda that didn't come back to the reserve.
I love the loon came ty Larry.
Went to pain dr yesterday gone all day. Feeling alittle better. So I came on here. So you all know I am alive. I've been put in slow motion..no twisting, bending, reaching, jumping (could do that anyhow lol) or lifting.
I didn't think it would be Comcasst to cut the trees at nest at NCTC. I knew they had a ground crew to do such work. Still might be a loose connection.
John, Steve, and NCTC that has put time in with the cam and the eagles.Even secretaries that get the calls. We mostly all at some point have gotten alittle grippie commenting like "grrrr live feed is down" when the live feed goes down. So sorry....you people John, Steven and others at NCTC do extremely wonderful job and I guess we don't tell you enough. Yet we certainly do when either refresh or live feed isn't working. When you fix it we say "Your THE MAN !!" YOU ARE APPRECIATED ALWAYS....!!!!!
I tell my husband every day I love him because I never know what the next day holds.
We all should be doing that with you all (not the I love you part) but that we appreciate you all.
John Red righted his comment on here June 13, 2008 9:58 AM. Red is a wonderful person. I hope you all at NCTC seen it.
I am back, and the duck was still there. I am downloading the pictures now. I, also, saw a big goose family and a grebe on a nest. Luckily the nest was high enough to survive the water.
Prayers for Dannie. Dave, I hope the rain stops soon and the water goes down.
Hi everyone. Guess it is Good Afternoon instead of Good Morning. Talk about "Goobered Up I did a night shift at the shelter last night . I drove there between tornado warnings in my county. Found myself on a road with some very deep water but where it was close enough to walk the rest of the way if I had too. I had to summons all the clients to the basement area bathrooms twice on my shift. They ranged form 8 weeks old to 67 years old with a walker. Just when we thought worst of the evening was over and folks had headed back up to go to bed, the sewers in those very basements started backing up into the basement units. There was a mad scramble to keep as much as possible from getting ruined and finding a safe but dry place for those on the bottom floor to try to sleep and hope for yet not another tornado warning. Fortunatley no more sirens after midnight but plenty of rain and work to do for those who could help me. We have major cleanup now to do there. I returned home to my own basement woes but my stuff that water will hurt stays pretty much up off the floor . Sump pump is running and water is clean. I am going to sleep this afternoon BUT I had made a video for all of you before I left for work but I was forced to shut down before I could upload it to You Tube.
Wow, Glo, that was absolutely beautiful!!! I loved the part toward the end where she spread her wings at the same time they were singing "spread my wings". That was beautiful!
Hi All, I have finally caught up since being in Michigan... Sounds like you all had a fantastic gathering on the 7th!!! So sorry to have missed it! But your posts really made me feel like I was part of it all. Thanks so much!
Next time I will send my photo so I can be there in spirit too! Due to a family reunion in October, I will also have to miss the open house... I will be in North Carolina that weekend. Maybe I can meet up with some of you in the next week or two?
Donna, prayers for Dannie and Tonja. Also prayers for our dear Chrissy and her hubby Frank. Hope they find the cause soon and fix it! Dana, prayers for you too dear one, it is so hard to be in such pain! Jo, I have been keeping Ssgt McCoy's family in my prayers too...so very sad to linger so long. Bless them all.
John and Steve and NCTC staff, we really do appreciate all you do to make the cam work. We all watch lots of cams around the world and this one is our favorite of all of them...unfortunately for some yet unknown reason, it is the least reliable one too... That just adds to our frustration level I guess. But please know that our whining is not directed at you all but at the situation in general, OK??? We really love you guys and all you do for us.
Deb, loved the blue-billed duck...didn't know they existed! But they sure are beautiful. We do learn so much on here don't we???
And last, but not lease, I will pass on the facials...sorry about that! Love and hugs to you all! And prayers for all in need!
Good to hear from you Iris! Just watched your video Glo and it is so beautifully done - As Norma would say "It's A Keeper"! Thanks again. Pray that you get some rest - I appreciate hearing about your evening as it makes me more thankful for what I have here on the East coast.
THANKS GLO!!----That was just beautiful---I felt sad because I knew the ending----Really enjoy your work!----I hope she checks back into the nest for some R&R--- ----SOON!!
Glo so sorry that at work they had such a terrible night. Then to get home to see your water but glad your stuff was up and clean water.
Yes I did see the spot on the turtle sign Paula. I think you gals did it just for fun lol "that's my story and I'm sticking to it" (which I could roflbo
Glo that was a really beautiful video and music so appropriate!!! Made me cry, it did! Lib, Belle, #1, #2 and #3 Happy Soaring and Hunting!!!
Thanks to you and Paula, I did not miss a single fledge, but it's not because I had the good luck to be here for each one!!!Thanks a bunch to you both.
Ok Glo you did it now. With the cam messing up and seeing the video of Spunky #2 "Our Tiny" fledging. I felt alittle saddness. NOW I AM CRYING LIKE A BABY Glo ty that was a great great great video of our Tiny. Again ty. Anyone got more tissues?
Glo, Thanks so much. That was so beautiful. I was crying so hard I could hardly see it, and had to play it twice. You truly captured the spirit of what we love about these wonderful creatures.
The blue billed duck is a rudddy duck. We had a flock land on our lake here in Michigan a few years ago which was a surprise because we are not at all in their living area.
Megan - market on Sunday - be on guard for Melissa Jo & my 3 great grandkids! Krista will be with her.. she is expecting her second child - Ava is almost 2 now.
Hey, everyone. I actually have a signal. I am thrilled. Here at Claytor Lake it is 90 degrees right now, beautiful weather. Me and my 3 dachshunds are here alone till Tom gets here at 11 tonight. So nice and peaceful. So, who is that in the nest? Maybe Middy?

Thanks for the Friday Morning laugh, Steve.
Morning, eagle friends!
HEllo Norma, Helen, Sharon:) cutting flowers while it is still cool. Hubby is trying to get chain saw running, it ain't working right, so we can get the rest of this darn walnut tree out of the way. Sounds like the next few days are gonna be HOT and humid.
Morning Paula! I am going to have to use that word today. I love it!
Well, Sis has already left going to the lake for the weekend. Guess I am going to stay in Bluefield and try to get some things done around here.
I see two in the nest- must be eating that fish the adult brought in earlier. Hey Paula:)
Still 2 eaglets in the nest but pic is not anywhere near clear enough to make an identification.
2 eaglets still in nest.
Mits, I saw the report on the pandas too.
yes Paula, and I am concerned of the fate of the 1600 pandas that live in the wild there....may not be good news for them....I'm surprised that the Chinese government is releasing as much news about the devastation that the have....16,000 dead, 20,000 missing and 5 million homeless, now that is tragic for those people, and puts a lot of life in proper perspective
Atleast one is eating...both might be
I hear ya, Mits. There is always someone that is worse off than I am, so I figure I got it pretty good.
yes, Paula we are blessed, thank God...so much suffering in the world, and I feel helpless
going for more coffee...
PAULA you have mail.
thanks you Sharon for putting the new pic of Tai eating bamboo.....I have a shift on the day of his 3rd birthday...ought to be fun...

Awww, cute pic, Mits.
Cam pic has cleared up for the moment- MT nest. Later -off to work outside.
Isn't it odd how the camera straightens up sometimes once the nest is empty?

I mentioned that a couple of weeks ago, Sharon. The pic was getting fuzzy when they were jumping up and down in the nest. I suspect a loose connection somewhere, but I'm no expert!
SHARON---Do you think the "FREE-LOADERS will stop by today?---ho!
Paula, I was thinking that too, loose connection somewhere.
Seems like the journey from 3 eggs to an MT nest went awful fast!
Norma, I sure hope so!
In the past I have mentioned that I have heard the eagles up close to the mic, and who knows we might have a George up there messing with things...
and last Sunday the closed circuit was acting up in the buildings...
Norma I mentioned to you the other day that the flamingos are nesting,,,,,you can see them now.
Nice and clear now....Lib and Belle are going to have a fun time bringing in lots more sticks and rebuilding the sides...
Look at me, already can't wait for the next season!
I'm ready, Paula:)
Good morning everyone. I think it is a loose wire remember one of them hit the cam. They will not be able to fix it for a while. That is okay. We saw them and wish them well. Helen I will try to plan for a visit on his 3rd birthday. Have a great Friday the 13th all.

that would be good Ceil ,but it will be really crowded
Thanks HELEN---That has always been a favorite---love watching the FLAMINGOS!----Wish you could see them dance!!

yes, and it could have been raining with storms....it was a good day
Well, Mommy always swore she carried me 10 months, so maybe I was supposed to be born a whale?
BWO---Couple still bringing marsh sod balls & sticks to nest---seem to be filling up the platform!!
SHARON---I can top your story!!---Mother told me I came in the Dr's BLACK BAG!!!!
Parent in our nest.
Someone flew over the nest, and now incoming eaglet. It was a crash landing.
Trying to look for a "white dot on the head" eaglet.... I hope.
Adult gone
Eaglet still eating
Middy or Pearl. Not Baby Littley!
I didn't see a white dot
MORNIN' DEB!---I don't see it in the nest---

Very good, Red!
MT nest again. Come on Baby Littley, we need to see your little speckled head!
Yepper! It's NOT Tiny Baby Littley!
Probably Middy - He sure has a fast
take off! Even from the middle of the nest!
I don't think it is Pearl, either, the eaglet was too polite at taking the food away. It did take it, but wasn't as aggressive as Pearl.
I think that was a turtle brought in! See a shell at about 4 o'clock.
just needs to work on the landings:)
This is a FREE-LOADER!!!----hunting for food!---Nope that isn't TINY--LITTLEY OR #3!!!
Must have been down at the turtle crossing! :)
OMG, the turtle is still moving, that is going to be a very long drop for it!
yes, Red the fact that this nest is on Government property and after 9-11, we are lucky we can even step foot on it:), and I thank Steven for letting us do so
OMG there is a live turtle in the nest!! Belle just flew in and grabbed it!!
adult is back
Belle came in to finish it off! OOOHHH!
WHOA---Is that LIBERTY eating the left over food!!!---ho!
She just left with a piece of it in her beak!!
I wish I hadn't missed Tiny's fledge, but I guess that's the way it goes.

Good Morning, Red
Very well said! I hope John sees
your meaningful remarks this morning.
that should read that my doxie *has* been making comments!
Paula, did you record the turtle? I did. I am feeling a little green now!
I will, Sharon.
What?? I missed a turtle??
Adult is back!
BirdGirl, our dachshunds have concerts. They all get together and sing with us. I know, probably hurting their ears from our singing.
My Buphals, a lab/shepherd mix, really talks. He will say "I love you" or at least close to that for a treat.
Belle is back for some more turtle.
Good Morning All!!!
What to my wondering eyes appeared????, but an eaglet eating in a clear nest!!!!! Now that we can see, they need to "come on down!"
Sorry, I was so suprised I couldn't resist!

I saw Middy, step on it before she left and she jumped, guess she didn't know it was still...ALIVE!!!
Gotta do stuff around the house, the landlord and the pest control guy will be here at 1030. juvie just arrived!
I'll join you for some of that! lol
CONGRATS!!---SHARON & PAULA!!!---I didn't see it was a turtle---mine RP wasn't that clear---
Guess the children have not mastered the art of eating turtle yet! Tough little goobers!
Well Middy certainly tried! Must have kept pulling back into the shell
Must take some skill to hold onto that turtle with talons
I meant picking it up and bringing it back to the nest
MT nest again.
Bird Girl,
Yes, my doxie talks!!! Had two when I was growing up that didn't and I never knew they could, but my Cinnamon does...have often wanted to tape and sent to Funniest Vidoes, but I don't have a moving cam!!! Sharon--do Sissy's talk??

A new skin treatment uses nightingale droppings as part of what's called a bird-poop facial. (WNYW Image) SideBar
NEW YORK (MyFoxNational) -- This ain't your mother's facial.
Gone are the days of mud masks or cucumber slices over the eyes. These days, the new rage in skin care is a bird-poop facial.
This is not a typo.
New York spa Shizuka offers a Japanese treatment called the Geisha Facial, which might sound more tolerable when its main ingredient is described more properly as nightingale droppings.
maybe we can put barrels under the sycamore tree
MORNIN' DONNA---I will certainly keep DANNIE in my thoughts & prayers---GOD BLESS----
I will let you all try the bird poop facials. Let me know how it works for you. :)
Donna: I will be praying for Dannie's speedy recovery and for Tonya's strength!
Dave - Glad you got to check on your eagles and that they weathered the storm. I just hope you are doing well with all that rain coming at you!
MORNIN' CANDY!!----I didn't mean to overlook you!!----MEGAN is a WORKER!!----She raises such beautiful flowers & she is so beautiful too!---Bet you are enjoying this leisure time!!---It's hard to decide what to do first---isn't it!!---JUST RELAX & ENJOY!!
hey if it works, I'm there:)
The Delwo Hummingbird chick is perching up on the side of the nest. Fledging might be close.

I do not like the MT nest. I keep checking it!
Thank you but I don't want to get all GOOBERED UP with any droppings (poop)
LOL
Don't you feel for those folks that are getting flooded!!!---Must be terrible---just watching the water move in---helpless!!
Norma - I know how I feel if the washing machine overflows to the floor - I just cannot imagine the feeling you have with Flood Waters.
Devastating to say the least.
I hope DEB finds her Blue Billed Duck and gets lots of pictures for us to see.
Take care - BBL
MORNIN' LOLLY---I have been thinking of you this am---wondering if you still have your grand kids with you!---I LOVE MINE MORE THAN LIFE-----& they are LOTS OF FUN--but I need a small time out-period after they leave------
And I hope to not have grandkids for a long time!
Bai Yun is taking some kind of "roll in the sand (or grass?) bath" right now. Take a look.

Make that a "loud" racket. Hear it again!
Feeding the new chick at Finney's nest.
When you fix it we say "Your THE MAN !!"
YOU ARE APPRECIATED ALWAYS....!!!!!
Norma gal I right here I right here ( :
Oh, so cute! Both parents feeding new chick. This is the first time I have seen it.
Happy to hear you are feeling better WV GAL!!!----We all missed you!!-----DONKEYS MISSED you too!-----ho!---take care!!!
CT osprey chicks really doing well!
I am back, and the duck was still there. I am downloading the pictures now. I, also, saw a big goose family and a grebe on a nest. Luckily the nest was high enough to survive the water.
Prayers for Dannie. Dave, I hope the rain stops soon and the water goes down.
Dave - hope your basement is drying out! Glad to hear your triplets are still doing well.
Norma hee hee your so sweet the donkeys missed me ((((hugs to all))))
Paula I love you new pic
Did you notice the poop shoot on it! :):)
And - for the record - we did not put that poop shoot there! :)
I hope you will take some time to see it and enjoy it.
Tiny in I beleive I can Fly
You know that Liberty and Belle really have their talons full now with 3 teenagers out and about!
Just watched your video Glo and it
is so beautifully done - As Norma would say "It's A Keeper"!
Thanks again.
Pray that you get some rest - I appreciate hearing about your evening
as it makes me more thankful for what I have here on the East coast.
THANKS GLO!!----That was just beautiful---I felt sad because I knew the ending----Really enjoy your work!----I hope she checks back into the nest for some R&R---
----SOON!!
EAGLET ALERT - OUR NEST! Not Baby Littley though! Probably Pearl waiting on "lupper".
Been hopping all over the nest. Not sure what is up!
Dancing all around the nest
I love watching
WHOOPS They have been flying out at all different areas of the nest!
I don't think we have seen just
Liberty & Belle alone in the nest yet
I think Pearl must have been looking for leftover turtle, didn't find any and flew off.
Iris you was truly missed at the dinner.
Glo so sorry that at work they had such a terrible night. Then to get home to see your water but glad your stuff was up and clean water.
Yes I did see the spot on the turtle sign Paula. I think you gals did it just for fun lol "that's my story and I'm sticking to it" (which I could roflbo
Going to watch video now
Glo that was a really beautiful video and music so appropriate!!!
Glo,
Thanks so much. That was so beautiful. I was crying so hard I could hardly see it, and had to play it twice. You truly captured the spirit of what we love about these wonderful creatures.
Sharing my spare tissues with Iris and HV>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>passing along the tissues>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I have my pictures on my page now that show the Blue-billed duck. Click on the first picture to see them all.
Thanks Deb great pics. I still am in awe by the "blue bill duck". Wow that is a lot of water that shouldn't be in that pictue.
NBC Tim Russert of "MEET THE PRESS" has died at age 58 after he suffered a heart attack, young man:(
Wow, that is too bad about Tim Russert. You never know what can happen or when it might.
Yes, Dana, it is a lot of water, but nothing compared to what is happening in Iowa!
Thanks for the tissues Dana, I was running out!!!
Tim Russert was one of our favorites here in our house! He will be missed...Such a young man! Prayers for his family and friends.
Indiana Dave, hope your basement problems are lessening... we had about 15 inches of water in our basement a few years ago... What a mess!
Eaglet in the nest....Middy I think
EAGLET ALERT!
Gone...
Fantastic pictures Deb.
I just can't get over the Blue Billed Duck - beautiful!
The blue billed duck is a rudddy duck. We had a flock land on our lake here in Michigan a few years ago which was a surprise because we are not at all in their living area.
Adult just flew in! with food
And here comes one of the kids! who instantly claimed the food.
WOW! Quite a scene at the nest
What a wide manteling.....
Adult flew out- juvie still there.
Hi Megan & geosue!
Not Tiny Baby Littley
So must be either Pearl or Middy lol
geosue - seeing a whold flock of Blue Bills would be awesome..
Well hello Jo!
Megan - market on Sunday - be on guard for Melissa Jo & my 3 great
grandkids! Krista will be with her..
she is expecting her second child - Ava is almost 2 now.
Okie dokie- Krista usually comes thru the mkt. every Sunday.
Thanks, Geo, for confirming it was a ruddy duck. That is only the second one I had seen. It is nice to know I had it right.
Missed the mantling, but got the front yard and most of the back mowed. Time for a drink break.
That duck is neat looking. Never seen one before.
And I too love the new word. Goobered!! I always thought a goober was a dweeb.
Hello Sissy! must be middy or pearl. wish tiny littley would show up. lol...A goober is a chocolate covered peanut.
CHIMNEY SWIFT NEST
