well Sharon I slept well for about 6 hours. Can't get back to sleep now so thought I would BLOG and see whats going on at the nest. LOts of calls and kind messages yesterday. I am grateful for a new day. I work tonight. I think I will take Dexter to work with me.

MANTOLOKING, N.J. — Authorities say a surgeon chased down a gaggle of geese with his boat and killed a gosling with a rake in Ocean County.
The New Jersey State Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals officers arrested Michael Coyle at his Mantoloking summer home Saturday.
Witnesses told police the orthopedic surgeon was driving his boat in a lagoon off Barnegat Bay trying to run down geese. Witnesses then said Coyle docked the boat and went after the fowl with a rake, killing a gosling.
The 62-year-old from Princeton could be ordered to perform community service or sent to jail if convicted of needlessly killing an animal.

Wanda, Vicky says she got 24.5 mpg with the stick and the tempature never went over 217 degrees. Thanks to mswvblonde for some pictures from Saturday. Waiting on others.
Steve had emailed me in response to the message I sent last evening letting him know what time it went down & said "The guys have to go out to the tree to evaluate. The whole thing went down. Could be the heat."
I am assuming that means their closed circuit also.

Been checking out the Finland cams. Have not seen an osprey on the Finland nest on the water. Think we can about give up on that nest. Wonder what happened there? Finney's nest....Momma frequently has her head down in the nest. ????

DAVE, you may want to check with your insurance company. Sometimes they will pay someone to clean up water damage and yuck. So sorry this happened to you.

Good morning eagle lovers! It sounds like the trip to the nest on Saturday was a real success, especially because all of our eagle family attended. We have had a lot going on here at work since May 12th - but as of yesterday - things have really quieted down - several on vacation and the rest are travelling. Only me & 1 other person here today. So, maybe I can get on here more now. The camera keeps getting fuzzy for me - how about for you guys? I do hope I can see Tiny fledge! I never got around to telling you guys that about 2 weeks ago, I discovered that 2 American kestrels had nested under the eve of my roof and there were chicks in the nest. The kids in that nest had started getting really noisy - that's how I "discovered" them. This morning when I took the dog out - three young kestrels wer in a pine tree not far from the nest. They are really beautiful birds (especially the adult males). Their eyes are stunning. From what I read, the youngsters hang aroung the nest for a week or two after fledging.
Was more food just brought in?

Norma - I missed being there on Saturday too. Momster get-togethers are always fun. I'm gonna try to make it in October. I guess I'll have to start a savings account now for the gas for that trip! How's the weather down your way? It's 84 up here on this mountain, but it doesn't feel too bad, as there is a breeze and the humidity is only 45%, according to weather.com. We don't have A/C in the office - but I don't mind, because I don't have A/C at home and it's always cooler up here.
