That cam went through some changes over the week-end, angles are different, early this am I could really see the body of water in the background, and the camera zooms in on the chick from time to time. Parent is going nuts right now!
IT'S NICE TO BE HOME TO SEE NORMABYRD'S WIDE-EYED AND WIDE-SPIRITED GREETINGS IN THE MORNING..I'VE ALREADY BEEN AT WORK THE LAST FOUR DAYS WHEN IT GOT POSTED.... HALLELUJAH !
Thanks, Norma! You say the nicest things! I've been missing ALL of you.
Here's a trick you all probably know already. On the flamingo cam, if you double left click on the camera pic, it goes full-size! Then just hit escape to take it back to little. I discovered that earlier this a.m. and saw the chicks!
And WHO gets the prize for turning us on to that site ????? He or She definitely must earn a double facial for that !
Scottish Osprey nest: Mama Isla, Baby Solo, and Father Angus. I learned that from an email from Chrissy...this site puts us closer to those two dear folks.... There are so many other links from the main cam page:

She put chick on a more flat mound 2 were going to fall off again. Funny just like it says when the chicks leave. When feeding time comes parents find their own chick without a problem. Well lady did that and parents had no problem finding their chick again.
NORMA - Did you see the post the other night when someone was teasing you about having a "BIRDS AND THE BEES" talk with you....It was pretty cute. I can find it if you missed it....
Gonna go to Google now and look for that YOU TUBE of the Flamingo Dance..
HI DOUBLE E-SHARON: You are the EARLY EAGLE BIRD that got the thread this morning !
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND BELATED BIRTHDAY TO ALL...INCLUDING THE CAT !
Magpie I'm sorry you didn't know. I have been doing that since yesterday. That is how I have been catching the chicks too. I just put my cursor in middle of screen and right click and zoom.
MESSAGE FROM SUZANNE LOL, well please tell everybody that Gypsy says thank you for remembering her special day! She'll get lots of extra pets this afternoon, and she's gonna have a catnip party. My fresh catnip has got to be stronger now, so it should work this time. If the fresh doesn't work , I have some realllllllllly goooooooooood dried stuff.
HEY WV GAL DANA: I was actually up same time as you this morning, too sleepy to post but not to read...and was about to when I saw you were "going to lay back down," and I DID THE SAME !
You were first on....all by yourself....then the other early birds roosted on here too, Double E-S, Wanda, Dave...we're all pretty much on here 24/7 one way or another.....
HELEN & BEVE!!----Sounds good to me!!----Someone brings the food & some one scoops up the "poop"!!---But I think that someone examines the "poop" too!----(NOT!)---you also have a pool to play in!!!!
Right Norma, have to have playtime as well. Pool for sure!! Mits, tell that big water good morning for me. Looks like I am not going to get to see it this year. Still go to little water though!!
MAGPIE!!----HELEN was teasing me because when I heard about the birth of 2 RED PANDAS at the KNOXVILE ZOO----& learned the father lived at NZOO!!!----I GOT SO EXCITED---I SAID 2 RED PANDAS WERE HATCHED...... (i try) ho!
BWO----LISA also notes that their MARSH EDGE TRAIL is now open & the TUBMAN trail is named for HARRIET TUBMAN----who was born in the area!!---WOW!---Didn't know that!!!
Wow - eight YouTubes later, I just saw a bunch of flamingoes, including 4 million along the shore in Kenya (National Geographic one, with the rough but true rules of nature....) - Better than going to the movies!
There are so many links, and it sounds like all the videographers were enjoying themselves. This'll get you started. Now I KNOW how loud it is at the ZOO.

I see that little bird OUR NEST, now to try to figure out what it is...long tail, maybe Mockingbird ?
looks like a beautiful morning at the nest this morning. My mother in law is still not doing very well. Right side of her face is a little drawn this morning. She is not eating very well. Compression fractures in her spine, old and new. Neurologist is coming in today. We really appreciate all the prayers. Keep em coming!!
That's Okay WV GAL - I guess I have learned a lot by trial and error...Paula could tell you how many emails I sent her trying to get onto the BLOG and to become a MOMSTER...I learn SO MUCH from this blog, and collect a lot of WARM AND FUZZIES.... from all the comments !
..Might have to get some chores done soon, after another round of checking everything I have opened up...
Thanks MAGPIE!!---That's a different site!!----You have the "MATING GAME" in this one!!----'Little kid yelling what are they doing MOM?'---MOM answers---'he is rubbing her back'!!----Must send that to LISA at BW!!---She always has the proper wording for children!!
Good morning Magpie, Paula, Norma, Dana, and Mits!!!! And anyone I missed!
Tell you what....I am an hour behind you....but I am getting to be an expert at sleeping in! And, then it takes forever to read all the blogs! What a vocal group!!! LOL
Glad to see the lil flamingo back in a nest. Poor lit guy!
NORMA.....Amen to that! I love my mornings and I move s-l-o-w. Sleeping to 8:30 though is not the usual. This time of year I need to get up a little earlier to enjoy the morning as it is a little cooler.
BUTA BUTA is asleep outside on the log structure!----So it evidently isn't TOO HOT in ATLANTA!!---or the 'LITTLE IMP' would be sleeping inside in the day room!!----
Wanted to tell you and COSTUME LADY, that one of the Scarlet Tanagers I saw in 2006 - was an "Orange Variant" - just a paler color, well, orange actually with the black wings. - it was nice. My brother goes to Colorado in the winter to study prairie dogs and has seen the Painted Tanagers there. Lucky Him ! The other tanagerss ones I have seen, or tried to see because they are so elusive! - were the "regular" red ones, if you can call such a spectacular bird "REGULAR."
I hope to go looking again this week on my days off...
Brave little FLAMINGO CHICK!!---just moved over & sat down on MOM'S foot!----good thinking on CHICK'S part!!!----I think I read the flamingos slow down as the day goes on!!!---more active in am!
bbl if it starts raining at the flamingo cam....call and have them rescue the chick off the mound. Those areas around the mounds are for drainage for rain water. Who knows maybe he could swim now. That would be cool.....later
DEB - I can't rewind anymore...had a problem with the Real Player versions, went back to 10.5 so I could at least the the NCIC LIVE FEED..So I settle for yours and others' posted videos...like the FOOD FIGHT !
HEY MAGPIE!!---I used to refer to the EAGLETS as MOUNTAINEERS!---I quit because I am always pushing WV on to everyone on the blog!!---Like the MOUNTAINEERS too!
Well, Norma..if it wasn't for West Virginia and this NCTC site, we wouldn't have the blessings of this particular BLOG - so I think it's a GOOD THING...I wasn't sure who STARTED Mountaineers...BUT IT DID CATCH ON QUICK...knew you did Freeloaders..just didn't have time to back and check past Blogs...not that it's not fun to do that sometimes...to see "where we were..." You're Okay, Woman !
BEV----Just scanned the blog & I'm sorry to learn your mother-in-law still isn't doing any better!!---Will keep her & your family in my thoughts & prayers---GOD BLESS---
Busy Day--Hi Everyone. Saw Dave's eagles have also fledged. And Bob and Lisa are coming to Park Sat also! Boat is full & that's my Sat. off. BOO HOO (unless there's a no show) It's so exciting that we can add Red Pandas to our bird sighting lists, since they hatch!!!LOL BBL- gotta get B'day cards at store before mailman comes
MAGPIE---STICK around till FOOTBALL SEASON!!---you might hear the word 'MOUNTAINEERS' a few times---ho!----WV LOVES THEIR MOUNTAINEERS----(especially when they are winning)---
AFTERNOON CAROL!!---How's the BIRTHDAY GAL!----Hope you are enjoying 'YOUR DAY'!!!!----I tried to tell WANDA you were only 29!!! How's it going for you ?
Keep Blogging, Carol - - we're approaching #200 - maybe you will have a "facial" bestowed on you for your birthday - Then you might become only 9 year old...! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hey Norma - I saw your note yesterday about getting some photos from the osprey banding trip next Saturday. I'll be there too so you can count on it.
Little chick has fallen back off nest again I see.

awwww fall down go boom!!!!
That little one needs rescued again!
HI NATURE NUT, WHEREVER YOU ARE !!
I hope to go looking again this week on my days off...
..ooops, Ornithologial gaffe - make that WESTERN TANAGER (I guess I was thinking Painted Bunting...) (excuses, excuses..)
Brave little FLAMINGO CHICK!!---just moved over & sat down on MOM'S foot!----good thinking on CHICK'S part!!!----I think I read the flamingos slow down as the day goes on!!!---more active in am!
Osprey at BWO, Juvie at BWE.
THANKS BOB!---That would be GREAT!!---SUZANNE---(a momster) will be there one day!!---Thanks!
bbl if it starts raining at the flamingo cam....call and have them rescue the chick off the mound. Those areas around the mounds are for drainage for rain water.
Who knows maybe he could swim now. That would be cool.....later
Norma - Yes, Suzanne is going the same time. Lisa will be with us as well.
WE HAVE A MOUNTAINEER !
Or, as Normabyrd would say:
FREELOADER !
We have two in the nest now.
YES DEB...THREE MORE TO GO AND WE HAVE THE WHOLE FAMILY..WOULDN'T THAT BE MAGICAL !
Yes, I rewound to see when the second one arrived and saw a parent in the nest.
Finally got the fly-in, food delivery quickly followed by second eaglet.
All three for a food fight!
DEB - I can't rewind anymore...had a problem with the Real Player versions, went back to 10.5 so I could at least the the NCIC LIVE FEED..So I settle for yours and others' posted videos...like the FOOD FIGHT !
Man-o-man, they are doing some wing-flapping !
I think whoever came in stoled the food, cam went all fuzzy then.
I think we are back to an empty nest.
And now they are all chasing after him/her !!
Nope, here comes one back. And gone again.
IN, OUT, BRANCH, FUZZ, IN, OUT, BRANCH, FLY OUT, COME BACK...WHAT TEASES !
In and out this morning. (afternoon for you)

Well, Norma..if it wasn't for West Virginia and this NCTC site, we wouldn't have the blessings of this particular BLOG - so I think it's a GOOD THING...I wasn't sure who STARTED Mountaineers...BUT IT DID CATCH ON QUICK...knew you did Freeloaders..just didn't have time to back and check past Blogs...not that it's not fun to do that sometimes...to see "where we were..."
