Good Morning & a beautiful morning it is I'm counting those little hooters! They aren't so little anymore! I am thinking that one is Dad and one is Mom - I have 6 on the screen now. Makes me happy when I see one of our juvies in our messy nest! Can't get over all those turtle shells in CO.
HELEN---Last year I was watching some of the older OWL clips---They are so FUNNY---Would come straight up to cam--stop & then turn their head all around!!---
Love you too, Norma. Had a post on the last of Saturdays..."waiting for you."
The storms hit you hard yesterday? We get endless weather teletypes at work and it looked like your area, Mineral Hardy Hampshire and such was in the Hot Zone.
Got my tea and went to the store Magpie. Thanks for the joke. You are a good person. Morning Norma. We are hoping to go in a few weeks. Feel for the people who have been affected by the flooding. Morning Jo. Hey Vicky didn't see you there. How are you doing? Glad you are going to be with family today Lolly. Get those water baloons ready. Have to go into work to fix something. Will be back later.
RE: Barton's Cove, make that click on live cam, then, click on the words "eagle cam" with the video camera icon to the left of it. Something brown and furry in that nest too. Maybe the snake is an eel...either way, some breakfast!
Here's hoping it is a quick-fix, Ceil! Norma, we have enjoyed these little hooters and also the little otters. But most of all Buta Buta and Tai as they was growing up! Lots of memories! Best of all we enjoy the Friendships!
Just prayers for those poor people.Jo. My husband said there was an elderly man on yesterday and they were trying to get him to evacuate. He would not go until the police got there. He asked if he could take his cat and they said yes. So he went. I am off to find a few jokes. Had a few cute ones and lost them. You are right Jo such great people on here. BBL
Mits, I goofed this morning. I thought it was a juvie at BWO. I was an osprey but had his back to me and looked like a juvie. Does anyone remember if it was Lib a few years ago who brought an eel into the nest?
CEIL - I don't know if it was Lib or Belle, but those in the know think one parent brought at least one in this year...I'll check back, think I can get the date on that one from the BLOG.
You really don't want to leave the computer to go to work, do you?
CEIL - It was April 3 of this year, didn't look yet for back in 2006 - it was a "long skinny thing" that might have been either a lamprey eel, or a regular eel, which we would have in the Potomac, or a snake - which everyone has everywhere !!
HAPPY FATHER's DAY to our Heavenly Father and to all the earthbound Fathers - be they feathered, furred or of human kind! Thank the Lord for them all! Oh yes, and Anne-Marie too!
Good morning everyone, Magpie, that was a really cute joke!!!
Time for a cup of tea here and a little more catch-up.

NATURE NUT: Have you seen the blackbirds at BC flying over the nest, esp when parent is there? I saw a lot of that earlier this morning...what brave aggressive birds... Can someone remind what they are? Thanks.
thanks, Loretta, I have tried that, but for some reason , can't find them when I save them, it was much easier last year when they had the "send as e-mail", don't know why they changed it?
Helen, as I recall, when you right click, the Save As says "Background" not. Maybe your PC is not accepting them.I can post mine---I haven't cropped them, but some should be enlarged to see detail.
NATURE NET: I remember that now...thanks. The birds at BC definitely seem to have some white in their wings, maybe underneath. Well, off to work, no more time for research now...couldn't get out to look for Tanagers today, Drat! Bye-Bye all, Safe Day to You. xo
Helen, I cropped a couple so they'll be more visible as em pics.
Some of the beautiful, large Live cams, such as black storks have forced me to take pictures of the 'puter screen!!! I was happy to see that both the white storks are doing OK. I was a little worried about the smaller one--seemed droopy.
Good evening all. I am in Bedford. Just took Mattie and Justin to the lake and they swam. Something happened with the boat today so that was out. Stopped in Roanoke to visit my friend Charlie and now I am at Thelma's.
Paula, your trip video is GREAT!!! Thx so much for showing us--esp. to the MIAs!!
Re: TX wood ducks---they have not hatched yet, I misunderstood their note about when the mom stays in the box w/out a break, they are ready to hatch. That evidently had not happened--was just a tip. DUH
PS: I have the black stork cam on & awhile ago, a cuckoo sang!!! I realized it was NOT our clock in the living room! The 3 youngsters are not all white anymore---getting neat black patches.

Wow, gettin' home and gettin' on late. Great Video, PAULA - You are a woman of many talents! Just checked ISW Santa Cruz Peregrines, one was on the ledge, another closer to the next box, second one flew up to ledge, and first one took a hike! So now a bird is eating on the ledge, can't tell if adult or chick. Finney's looks nice, and Over the Water Finland is beautiful, but I wonder, will we ever have chicks there and what happened there if not? Well, Good Night to All, Hope it was a Great Day, and Safe Times for whatever your plans are for Monday... PS: those black-chinned hummingbirds sure look packed into that little nest! I sure couldn't sleep like that! xoxo
OMG, just read an email from our Park secretary. She said that our maintenance supervisor found one of the baby eagles Thursday--"it had fallen out of the nest"!!!??? They were GONE from the nest TU==just posted that pic awhile ago. I suspect it made a sloppy landing somewhere. Will find out Monday==I'm working.
I am not at all pleased with the video quality on youtube of the nest visit...so I have figured it out....should be available tomorrow...really good quality!
Wow Paula, I liked what you had so I can't wait 'til Monday to see the revision.
On heron cam, sometime scroll down the page to "old Clips," some nice videos. Especially entertaining is the one entitled "Four Fledglings about Ready to Leave the Nest. " Looks like a free-for-all.

I just checked OREGON NEST!!---I see SNOW in the nest!!!!!
I'm back already Magpie. Just had to stop in and do something. Here is a riddle. Some months have 31 days and some have 30 days. How many have 28 days?
Ceil, you just woke up my brain with that one: ALL OF THEM
MARGY...LMBO at the Laxative and sleeping pill quip!
Your right Wanda. When I saw it I was hmm how many? Duh.
That was a good one sleeping pill and laxative not at the same time.
Margy, I don't know about Lib bringing an eel to the nest, but last year Osprey Parent brought an eel to the Finny nest. (Think it was an eel)
COSTSUME LADY - you are quick!
Riddles like that do keep our minds fresh!
CEIL and MITS: Just got that call to report for work at 3 pm and stay til 8 - oh well, it could be worse...and I am grateful to have a secure job...Unfortunately, the need for 911 is not going to go away anytime soon!
With that said, I guess I better get some chores done. Happy Afternoon, ALL. Keep your eyes out for Eagle Babies for me...

Barton Cove baby working on all the leftovers...back to the fur and the long skinny thing....
