CONGRATULATIONS HEDGESVILLER FOR BEING NO. 1 ON THE NEW THREAD. THANK YOU STEVE FOR THE NEW THREAD. I was just trying to catch up on all the old thread; 400 and some comments! It was time for a new one.
HEDGESVILLER I hope you and your Grandgirls have a super lunch and day out today.
GOOD MORNING TO ALL IN BLOGSVILLE. Besides the humidity being back, we have the fire smoke from the west of us back in full force. It is really thick and looks like fog out, it is so much. I guess the wind changed again.
Good morning Vicki. PAULA I can imagine that the smoke might have made it all the way up there Paula, if the wind was right. My husband put the flag out this am and the smoke is now inside the house a little. Don't get me wrong. I am thankful that there isn't a fire here by me.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---THANKS STEVE!!---My RP is perfect this am!!----ENJOY your weekend!!!
MORNIN' HEDGESVILLER & CANDY!!---I just finished looking at DEB'S photos----AWESOME DEB!!---"Blue Billed Duck"!!!---She also has great EAGLE & OTHER WILD LIFE pics!!---What a TREAT!!
CANDY---I checked it out---They say there are still 2 chicks & parents are there!!----some are on top of other bldgs.---church steeple---new bldg., etc.----They have local people reporting their sightings
Good morning again, Lynn, Candy, Norma, Vicky and Paula. I have posted a photo of PAULA on my Wanda's Wishes Blog. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. It reminds me of the painting of CHRISTINA'S WORLD by Andrew Wythe (I think).
Paula--love the new moniker of Hedgie!!!! I was going to tell Carolina that the smoke was supposedly here from the fires, but you beat me to it. I haven't smelled anything, tho'...have you?
Good Morning to all of you! Enjoying my morning cup of coffee.. After seeing and knowing that all 3 of our juvies have returned to our nest, it's not as frustrating as it usually was for the live feed not to be up.
Wanda - your reunion page is very nice! Like you pic of Paula also.
Yes, Norma, they are great. I was so blessed to have two daughters, which was exactly what I wanted, and now two grands, as well. Enjoy watching them grow and mature...they are now 14 and 10. Where does the time go? Oldest one wants to be a vet, so any chance for exposure to animals is great. THere's supposed to be lion cubs and some other exotics at this thing today. Better go finish getting ready. Shuttle getting close to landing time. Hoping thet make it before I leave. Talk to you all this evening!
PAULA---I enjoyed the TURTLE SAGA!-----I couldn't tell it was a turtle on my RP---I thought they were fussing over FOOD that had been left in the nest!!---THANKS!!--That's COOL!!!
WANDA AND PAULA I finally got into your pics and they were GREAT!!!
Oh great, my husband just came into the room and wanted to know if I wanted to help him with our Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll campaign for two hours today at Harris Teeter. They give out Tootsie Rolls and people give money in the cans which in turn goes to the schools in Dare Co. for the challenged children in the school dist. No one signed up to be with him for the two hours, so guess it means I will be smelling smoke this afternoon for awhile. I hate to have to have him be alone.
WANDA---Must go see your site!!---CHRISTINA'S WORLD is one of my favorites!---(did you know in real life she was a neighbor of WYTHE---& she was crippled!)
Good Saturday Morning and Happy Flag Day to ALL. Magpie, Paula (turtle video alittle tough for an eaglet lol), Ceil, Wanda (great photo of Paula), Glo (always a price for freedom), Norma(see any donkeys), HV (#1 on new thread free facial and enjoy day with GG), Ms Just Vicky(take care), Mits, Jo, Candy (Helping husband with Toosie Roll Campaign for a good cause), Deb (love pic of Magpie).
Thank you Steven for the new thread and all the work on the cam that NCTC does.
Good morning all! Oh, poor little turtle! I kept thinking....crawl to the edge, and dive overboard!!!
Did you guys notice there are two chicks in Finney's nest? I was closing my cams last night, went to that site and there they were...two. We seemed to wait forever for the hatching!
Wanda, my sister had her 50th reunion this year. So did my husband, but he chose not to go. That is why we flew to Norfolk and went to Williamsburg. We met his best friend from HS there, along with his wife. It was a GREAT reunion. Mine will be in four more years.
Well, we were planning a trip to Michigan, but as of this morning we have cancelled. My sister and hubby were going as well but they have cancelled too. The rain and flooding, the price of gas, and my lack of stamina has all said....it's a no go!
So, happy Spunky Day! Wish I had known him.....Tiny will always be special to me.
I'm just a little behind. I was not on for a couple of days what with Laurel and the boys here. Just peeked in now and then. Read the blogs, but quickly.
Hi Candy! Enjoying your days at home? It was fun having Laurel and the boys here during the week. She would so like to be a stay at home Mom, but it is not to be. She is a great teacher, but is enjoying her time off with the boys.
Just looked in on the Hummer nest and the chick is still there. Guess if didn't fledge yet. This one is lucky as there is only one, him, to sit in the nest. He has it all to himself.
LOLLY I have been off two days now, and I think it is beginning to sink in a bit. I've enjoyed catching up on all the excitement here and did get to (see?) Tiny, Baby Littley fledge. So glad to hear you had a nice visit.
I am trying to get my son talked into being a math or science teacher, but no go. He would be good at it. So far, no go.
Yes, isn't it something to be able to watch the differences all around our world.
PAULA I can't believe that you walked through that tall grass. No wonder you had ticks. You should have encased yourself in garbage bags to ward them off. :)
PAUL was actually NOT in the tall grass. She was on the road that leads up to the barn, near the nest tree. You just can''t see it for the tall grass. I loved the illusion of her being in the tall grass. Don't think she got any ticks. Some of us did.
GOOD MORNIN' DANA & LOLLY!--DANA it's great to see that you are your PERKY self this am!!! ---read the blog this am---but still haven't caught up!!---Where were you watching the WOOD DUCKS?
CANDY!---Schools are begging for MATH & SCIENCE teachers!!---I went through that with my #3 daughter---she wouldn't listen either---After her 1st child---she went back to school --another 3 yrs---got her degree in education!!!
Norma, I am heading back down either Wednesday night after my zoo shift ,or Thursday a.m., have babysitting on Monday, Drs appts. on Tuesday...will be there til July 8th, and come back for Tai's 3rd BD and zoo shift and meeting that night...then go back down on the 10th..hubby's Midwest and Fla relatives arrive on the 11th, then back for another zoo shift that next week......so back and forth again this summer....last year took August off from zoo, this year will wait til Sept...unless we have a cub to talk about:)
OK, Norma ... I'll be very grateful for the cool morning.
Mits, do you remember before the regs against breaking the barrier over populated areas??
We lived near(or "in," depending upon the wind direction) the flight path of Miramar Naval Air Station when I was growing up in Del Mar. And some days we would have that huge, shocking bang shaking the buildings and rattling the windows all day long.
Dana, we all got wet!!! Felt good! The boys got soooo excited, thought it the greatest yet. Have promised we will do it again the nest time they are here. We actually ended up squirting each other with the water hose. LOL Water balloons take forever to fill.
Jim, I have lived in the area of 3 major airports my whole life....remember well when the jets started their west coast trips back in 1958, out of the then Friendship airport, right around dinner time, we would all run out to see it bank over our area headed west, have been fascinated with planes and ships my whole life, I still look to the sky for planes and scan the ocean to watch ships and boats of all kinds;)
On the nice pretty eagle playing card set that I will be using around 1pm today. One says, "Eagles' eyes are amazing. A second eyelid slides across their eyes every few seconds, wiping airborne dirt away; because it's trunslucent, the bird can see even in mid-blink".
Story of my life....I miss the boat all the time. Shuttle landed without me, wood ducks hatched, humming bird fledges, all eagles fledged.....thank goodness for videos. Keep up the good work! LOL
ok wood ducks must have been on another site, don't see them on the site with the chimney swifts....but I sent you the swifts nest site...very interesting how they make their nest
RP down but still pic is up! Good afternoon everyone. Have to work about 1 1/2 hours today. Going to the lake tomorrow and ride the boat for a little while, then going to Thelma's to spend the night. Go to another doctor in Charlottesville Monday at 1:30.
Happy Flag/Spunky Day! I'm confused about the TX Wood Duck box. Last night I saw the comment about hatching & Mom was on the eggs. Today I see the same. Last time they posted a pic of last duckling going out.Are they gone, or what? Oh well, it is what it is!!!! Thx for lovely pics, Wanda & Paula, I need to get turtle sign for Park. Every year we see huge, steering wheel sized snappers who come out of river to lay eggs!!
Good Flag Day Everyone! I'm off to a very late start this morning, I was cleaning out my closet...no fun!
Did the Finland site change URL's or something, I can't get a cam up no matter how hard I try. If you have the URL, please post it for me.. pretty please...
RP is not working here but the still cam looks clear enough. The only thing is - it's MT...boo hoo
Wanda, I loved your photos...don't know why I didn't find them before.
Paula, loved the turtle video, even though turtles are one of my favorite critters. They are just way too slow to watch on a cam I'm afraid. :) Now I'm off to see you pictures of the gathering.
Lolly our trip has been postponed for a few weeks. The roads we will be taking in Iowa are closed. Poor people. Like you when my ship comes in I will be at the airport.
good Morning all, just taking a break. warm with a cool breeze off the ocean. It comes up the river and I am thankful for it. big BBQ today. fathers day and birthdays. I have a turkey in the BBQ and family will bring side dishes. Patio is washed off and misters on. Dinner should be about 6:00. glad to see everyone is doing well. I take my breaks and read what your doing. Next is the kitchen floor. BBL
Mits thats not the Findland nest I've been watching. I been watching the one with the water and the ships. I couldnt figure out what you were talking about. silly me.
Annemarie, I watch the over the water one too, but looks like their season is over, based on the osprey abandoning the eggs, but still come back for an occasional visit...this nest is Finney's nest from last year that we watched, it is a man-made nest.
AML...you are going to be worn out by the time your guests arrive. We had Fathers's day dinner last night with on daughter and tonight, we will be going to the Wayside Inn to have dinner with the other daughter. Glad we don't have more children. I miss my father sooo much on Father's Day. He always enjoyed the attention.
Ceil, interesting that you too have postponed your trip. My sister and her husband were going in their RV. We were all going to Michigan for a family reunion next Saturday. Then they were going on to Wis and Minn, two states they have not visited. Now just isn't the time what with all the rain and flooding. Also, the price of gas is just something to stop and consider. We were talking about limiting our big trips to once a year. We so enjoyed our month long trip last fall to New England. We came home through West Virginia. Did not know you folks then. Golly!!!!!
Maybe next summer for us. The reunion is every summer, but we have not been for a few years. We are still "considering" next Oct for the Open House. One problem being is Oct. 18 is Joseph's 8th birthday. We missed his birthday last Oct. We will just wait and see.
Headed into the shower - getting ready for Mass. Still an MT nest.... Hope Candy is smiling a lot while she give out the Tootsie Rolls! If the KOC have them this evening, I'll think about her as I put some $$ in the can!
Your right Wanda, I'm am tired but I will have company next week and wont be able to get things done. the kids can take over when they get here. You see my children didnt have a father so I get a fathers day as well as a mothers day. When my oldest was about 10 he gave me a little statue that said" happy fathers day to the best dad on the block" The other dads were too busy or what ever to take their boys fishing and camping so I would pile them all in the back of the waggon and away we would go. My boys thought that was really neat. Ever since I get a fathers day. Last year I got a new fishing pole. I love it!
Lolly, we were driving to Oregon and we were suppose to leave tomorrow. Hope we will be able to go in a few weeks. Your grandson would like NCTC for his 8th birthday.
Well, it just isn't my day! Typed a book, blogger cop got me or so he said!!!! Retyped the book, posted it and there is my first post.???????????
Jo, I am sure Joseph would love it. However, school has first claim to his attention.
The year before he started kindergarten we took him for a week to New Mexico and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We had a grand time. Then I published a little book just for him and his memories of the trip.
Jacob's trip to New Mexico is a year from this October, and then Zach's will follow the next year. More fun!!!!
Rain showers passing thru here and at the nest. Looks like heavier showers headed towards DC. Several lines of showers behind this one. The cooler air feels good,78° now, and we really need the rain here. How quickly we went from too much rain at once to none at all. Off to make bouquets for mkt. tomorrow.
Ceil, that is a long drive for you to Oregon. It is a long drive for us and were in Texas. We went to Oregon a few years ago. We drove to southern Calif and then up the coast to Washington. The west coast is just beautiful.
Yes, Anne Marie, we drove through SF pulling our trailer! Jack was more than a little nervous about that, but we did it!
Lolly, that drive up the CA coast is so pretty. Would have loved to have continued through Oregon and Washington.
Ceil - I was wondering what you were still doing here! Hope you can make the trip, soon.
Anne Marie - sounds like a great, fun filled day, worth the effort.
I gotta go vacumn and clean some junk off the kitchen table.
Grandson coming this evening and spending the night here with me, while Mom and Dad go to party for her cousin. She is taking baby with them, so it's just Cohen and I. Don't know if we'll be able to play outside or go to the park with the thunderstorms...if not, we'll play with Legos...also gonna make our own pizzas...hearing thunder now...
Lolly I have found that is safer for me to be pulling a big 5th wheel than driving my Infinity. No one messes with a big 5th wheel. They just get out of the way!
this was from about 3 days ago, Jo, and since they were not bouncing back to me thought it was resolved.... Hotmail was blocking email from Comcast late yesterday but it was resolved late last night. We may still see intermittent blocking, but Microsoft has at this time unblocked Comcast
Yes we are aware. Our abuse manager is in daily contact with Hotmail who keep blocking us and then unblocking us, so it's going to be sporadic until we can get on the same page with each other...........this was from one of the moderators.....soooo, looks like it is a HOTMAIL ISSUE not Comcast
Anne-Marie, Our son lived in SF until February then moved to Oregon.Visited twice and loved the coast. Always wanted to see the Pacific Ocean. Live near the Atlantic Ocean and have been to the Gulf of Mexico. We have a beautiful country.
Thank you for the Finland site Mits...goodness that nest does not look very comfortable does it???
Did I see two chicks there?
Paula, loved your pictures of the gathering on the 7th... there are a few I would like copies of and I remember you saying it was not as good to get them from Picassa? Or, is my memory playing tricks again?
Anne-Marie I love that you get both Mother's day and Father's day recognition!!! How cool is that! You can't fool kids can you - they know what's going on!
Iris - The Finland nest, "Finny's nest" does have 2 chicks!
If you would like a higher resolution copy of one of my pics...save the one from Picasa and send it to me in an email...that way I know which one you want...or if it has a caption, you can email me the caption and I can ID the picture that way. Or you can just click and save right from Picasa, but the quality is not as good as it could be...the originals make much better screen savers, etc.
wow- dark skies- heavy cell over us right now- this is what I didn't want- pouring rain and wind is really gusting.. power went out right when the storm first hit-
There were 2 chicks on still cam @ 5:24--really 5:34. We are getting light rain-of course just when I wanted to go to store! Was checking BC Delta/Discussions and found link to beautiful video posted in Jan. by Starr in honor of Skye who fledged from Sidney nest; http://www.handcockwildlifechannel.org/mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=2008012601275975 Very touching-you may need Kleenex! If link vwon't work, I'll go back & find what page it's listed.
That was one nasty storm- lots of thunder and lightning- too close for comfort- had to shut down computer- grabbed daughter's laptop so I could see radar-still raining here, but the red cell has passed us and the nest.
UPDATE: June 12 2008, 3pm by Dr. Dave McRuer, Director of Veterinary Medicine at the Wildlife Center of Virginia
The mass appears even drier today compared to yesterday. The eaglet ate well this morning and, although not taking food off the forceps, will readily eat the food when placed in his mouth.
The eaglet is still hock-sitting and will soon need branches within its enclosure in order to strengthen the tendons in his legs and feet. We hope to install a larger pen in our isolation room later this week so that the eaglet can easily begin to perch without feeling confined by the roof.
The bird keeps the nest incredibly clean by defecating through the cage door onto the window and wall two feet away. The bird's projectile power does not seem to be hampered by the pox infection.
I have the heron cam on. No herons in the nest. For sure one up in the tree, one on a branch lower than the nest. Not sure about #3, but I think it is on the limb above the cam.
Hi all! Storms seem to be over--for now, at least! Had a good time w/ the girls. They enjoyed the animals, even tho' the exotics seemed to be in naptime mode while we were there. Saw a camel,a tiger, an albino boa, llamas, goats, ponies, white tiger, leopard, baboon, lemurs, and a baby tiger cub who was sitting for pics--for a fee, of course! Wanda--how can I find your blog/pics??
We are currently investigating an email issue regarding intermittent MSN / Hotmail blocking Comcast.net servers. Comcast is currently working with Microsoft to have this issue resolved. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working toward a resolution as quickly as we can. We do not have an estimate as to when resolution will occur. We thank you for your patience.
Thank you for choosing Comcast.
Sincerely,
Danielle Comcast Customer Care Specialist **************************************************JO, just got this from COMCAST....
Howdy Eagle, flower, doggie, grandchildren, and other wildlife buddies. Interesting reading from everyone. Missed the fledge of hummingbird too...glad I saw big baby the last couple of days. The link to the black-chinned hummers that I think MOVIN mentioned is worth checking out too. Cute little critters. Storm hit big in Mtsbg just as I was about to leave at 5 pm, so back in the door for another 90 mins. HEDGESVILLER, You're right, we were one short and one not feeling well so I was a little busy. Tried to keep my cool! Loved the turtle video, PAULA, thanks. Out to visit an elderly lady neighbor for a few. "BBL." Love to all. xo
JO, Just saw my first lightening bugs of the season, too! Remember catching them (phew! stinky) and putting them in mayo jar--daddy would punch holes in the lid w/ a nail! I actually tried to read by the light of them! LOL...
yep, saw lightning bugs the other night walking to car at zoo, so nice and quiet at night, can't believe you are in the middle of the city....watching The Notebook...GOODNIGHT EVERYONE
I just found the first tick of the season for me. Yuck, now I will worry all night if there are any more. The dogs always get this pathetic look that says, Please don't find a tick on me. Top of the 12th Twins 9, Brewers 4.
Ugh- ticks- now I will be searching... what a wicked storm that was- nasty winds, heavy rain- overwhelmed the sump pump it was coming down so fast, so the basement has water on the floor once again. Conveniently enough, that's where I was working. Power went out once, then came back, has gone out twice since, then lights dimmed a couple of times. Probably a tree or branch on the wires somewhere, what a looong day... Calgon, take me away!!!
Well, if the nest stays empty tonight...first time with no baby or baby things since February 4 - the date of the first egg-laying. Has to happen sometime I guess... fun to go back to those blogs and see all the growing excitement brewing. Good Night Again, for sure this time. xo
Good Morning Everybody out there in Eagle Land. Nest looks pretty empty all right except for some kind of leftover.
Happy Fathers's Day to all our Dads, Grandfathers, Great Grandfathers, ANNE-MARIE, and our special Dads that await us in heaven. (And all the special women that made fatherhood possible...)
Hope it is a GREAT DAY for everyone.
AND HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO LIBERTY !!!! May your "children" bring you a nice fresh fish or turtle today!
Nice fresh fish delivery in Barton Cove, and the black birds (crows?) have flown over the nest a bunch this morning. You can really see them flitting past.
Good morning Magpie. Ditto. Happy Father's Day to all the men or the blog. NCTC men who put up with us. All our husband's and father's and Lib. All our service men who are away from their families. All have a good day.
White storks and two chicks frisky right now. Seems like the older chick was hassling the younger one, Mom put her big foot on the older one's back, and now got her long skinny legs between the two of them - Go Mom! (Or, maybe it is DAD ?)
GOOD MORNING CEIL - I already got my coffee...Happy Day in "Baltymore" to you. I have relatives in Ruxton...I think it is a beautiful city, love the old buildings downtown!

No Hedgie, I haven't smelled it, but they showed it on the weather report last night...might be the reason for some of the haziness....
Wanda, love the pic! And loved your reunion bio! You and Gene met when you were a freshman. Wow!!
Shuttle getting close to landing time. Hoping thet make it before I leave.
Talk to you all this evening!
Ok, gotta get back to work. Want to get outta here ASAP...

Finland parent feeding chick.
WANDA AND PAULA I finally got into your pics and they were GREAT!!!

yes, Lolly, we knew about Finney's nest 2nd chick the other day;)
Just went to the wood duck cam. They are all gone!
GOOD FLAG DAY MORNING JO, DANA AND LOLLY. Just finished going through my email and am watching the Finland nest.

Seeing the picture of Paula in the tall grass I understand the tick situation!
Rick Steves is coming up on TV. Think I will go eat breakfast, finish my coffee and watch.

Good Morning Lolly ( :
Did the GG get wet or did you? lol
going for breakfast
Oh well, can't wait for the hommer to go. Have to get ready to go out in the smoke to give out Tootsie Rolls BBL All enjoy the day.
PAUL was actually NOT in the tall grass. She was on the road that leads up to the barn, near the nest tree. You just can''t see it for the tall grass. I loved the illusion of her being in the tall grass. Don't think she got any ticks. Some of us did.

C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Juvenile on the BWE nest now.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Dana, we all got wet!!! Felt good! The boys got soooo excited, thought it the greatest yet. Have promised we will do it again the nest time they are here. We actually ended up squirting each other with the water hose. LOL Water balloons take forever to fill.
Norma, it was the Texas wood ducks. They apparently keep moving the cam to different nests
Some of us new this and some I'm sure didn't.
Ty for the playing cards. ( :
Norma, that site also has the chimney swifts, that we were talking about yesterday, I put up the site on the blog, I'll send it to you.
Story of my life....I miss the boat all the time. Shuttle landed without me, wood ducks hatched, humming bird fledges, all eagles fledged.....thank goodness for videos. Keep up the good work! LOL
ok wood ducks must have been on another site, don't see them on the site with the chimney swifts....but I sent you the swifts nest site...very interesting how they make their nest
http://watch.birds.cornell.edu/nestcams/camera/view?cameraID=C100004
Wood duck cam.
RP down but still pic is up! Good afternoon everyone. Have to work about 1 1/2 hours today. Going to the lake tomorrow and ride the boat for a little while, then going to Thelma's to spend the night. Go to another doctor in Charlottesville Monday at 1:30.
Nice pictures Wanda.
there is an osprey sitting on the BWO nest but something is flying around it. It has been blurry.
I took a peek at the Hummingbird nest a minute ago, but the little critter fledged this morning....
There is a link to another nearby nest on this site though.
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Hi Jim ( :
Sharon good to see you. Have fun at lake. I'll be thinking about you for that new drs appt.
Off to play cards
Happy Flag/Spunky Day!
I'm confused about the TX Wood Duck box. Last night I saw the comment about hatching & Mom was on the eggs. Today I see the same. Last time they posted a pic of last duckling going out.Are they gone, or what? Oh well, it is what it is!!!!
Thx for lovely pics, Wanda & Paula, I need to get turtle sign for Park. Every year we see huge, steering wheel sized snappers who come out of river to lay eggs!!
Now, I have to say, Paula cut out the best part of the turtle sign pic and that was me, Beverly and Mattie!
Ceil, it is some kind of food at BWO, check out Lisa's comments to the left of pic
FINLAND NEST
Lolly our trip has been postponed for a few weeks. The roads we will be taking in Iowa are closed. Poor people. Like you when my ship comes in I will be at the airport.
Greeville TX Wood Duck on 13 eggs
Hi Jo. Love those little wood ducks.
good Morning all, just taking a break. warm with a cool breeze off the ocean.
Joseph would love Open House, Lolly!
Ceil, you can go the southern route. 10 is always open and 5 past me and to Oregon is open and smooth.
Rain showers passing thru here and at the nest. Looks like heavier showers headed towards DC. Several lines of showers behind this one. The cooler air feels good,78° now, and we really need the rain here. How quickly we went from too much rain at once to none at all. Off to make bouquets for mkt. tomorrow.
That is great Anne-Marie. My mom got a new crab net for her anniversary one year. She was good a catching crabs. She loved it.
We do need the rain.Megan The heat is drying everything up so fast. I am off to get ready for Church.
Jack was more than a little nervous about that, but we did it!
wow, had forgotten about the crab net Mom got, she really did love it.
And Ceil, you have a facial awaiting you :)
Helen - I have not gotten 1 email from you today
Now, what does that tell you?
Comcast vs hotmail lol
Sounds like you have a fun evening coming up, Paula!
I'm sure that H-viller also had a fun time today!
I think I owe 2 grandsons an ice cream treat!
MT NEST
well golly gee....don't know why....been sending the last few days.....got to be comcast, I'll go on there forum and see what is happening
Lolly I have found that is safer for me to be pulling a big 5th wheel than driving my Infinity. No one messes with a big 5th wheel. They just get out of the way!
Pouring here now...we need it, grass if starting to turn brown!
Mits you and Comcast just dont get along. I'm sorry, I wish I could help. I dont have any problems and I love my pay check:)
Pleasssssssssssse send us some of your rain...Pleeeeeese...
this was from about 3 days ago, Jo, and since they were not bouncing back to me thought it was resolved....
Thanks for the facial but I think I will hand it over to Mits.
Anne-Marie, Our son lived in SF until February then moved to Oregon.Visited twice and loved the coast. Always wanted to see the Pacific Ocean. Live near the Atlantic Ocean and have been to the Gulf of Mexico. We have a beautiful country.
Well until it gets resolved maybe we can have Ceil be our messenger if there is any earth shaking info I need to know! Or give me a call lol
Out the door to Mass
BBL
only thing earth shattering is if I were pregnant.....then it would be on the local news;)
we are also going to Mass tonight..later.
Aaah, love the Gulf also. I feel blessed to have seen the Pacific and Atantic and Caribbean as well...
Downpour over...probably not enough
Thank you for the Finland site Mits...goodness that nest does not look very comfortable does it???
Did I see two chicks there?
Paula, loved your pictures of the gathering on the 7th... there are a few I would like copies of and I remember you saying it was not as good to get them from Picassa? Or, is my memory playing tricks again?
Anne-Marie I love that you get both Mother's day and Father's day recognition!!! How cool is that! You can't fool kids can you - they know what's going on!
Had to tape the vacuum cleaner together with packing tape to finish the job. Guess it's time for a new one!
More rain coming...doesn't look too nasty at least...
Yep, about to rain here again, too.
wow- dark skies- heavy cell over us right now- this is what I didn't want- pouring rain and wind is really gusting.. power went out right when the storm first hit-
Come on guys, share the rain with Anne Marie and myself!!!
There's 2 juvies in the nest and at least one fish-
Trust me, you don't want this storm- wicked thunder and lightning- heavy downpour- nasty storm- me and the dog are going to go hide under the table...
There were 2 chicks on still cam @ 5:24--really 5:34.
We are getting light rain-of course just when I wanted to go to store!
Was checking BC Delta/Discussions and found link to beautiful video posted in Jan. by Starr in honor of Skye who fledged from Sidney nest;
http://www.handcockwildlifechannel.org/mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=2008012601275975
Very touching-you may need Kleenex! If link vwon't work, I'll go back & find what page it's listed.
BOO Blogger cut part of it out!!!!
And after all that typing!
2 wet eaglets in the nest!!
Radar shows those storms have gotten larger - the one that hit the nest, that is...
Looks like it's over at the nest now.
That was one nasty storm- lots of thunder and lightning- too close for comfort- had to shut down computer- grabbed daughter's laptop so I could see radar-still raining here, but the red cell has passed us and the nest.
Looks like Middy and Pearl in the nest
The lovely video of Skye is on Delta Discussion/screenshots/etc. page 78. Third post down, Eagle lovers from NY, Starr, has at bottom Click Here.
Still 2 in the nest..one eating, one standing at 12
Looks like Pearl is eating, Middy at noon
Just home from mass.. skies are very black & wind in gusting. Guess the storm is over me now. Not much rain coming down yet......
Need to eat
BBL
On in the Nest...I think Pearl left
Did you see this?
UPDATE: June 12 2008, 3pm
by Dr.
I like that....projectile poser! LOL
Make that "power". I am gonna have to check more for typos!
Two in the nest, have not a clue as to who it is.
Hi, everyone. I am late getting on today, beautiful day today, mid 80's. Two in our nest.
Hi Deb! Sorta quiet around here now.
Watching two little guys get fed in Finland.
Amazing....it is two in the morning there and bright as day.
I have the heron cam on. No herons in the nest. For sure one up in the tree, one on a branch lower than the nest. Not sure about #3, but I think it is on the limb above the cam.
The heron below the nest is flapping its wings, but holding on to the limb pretty good.
Yesterday two were above, causing leaves to come down in front of the cam. Guess you saw that. Wonder when they fledge?
LOL Yes, I do believe they are up above!
Jo and I figured it out once, but I didn't write it down. I think it should be this coming week if I remember right.
Lynn, go to one of Wanda's blogs. Click on her picture and go to her blog info. Down at the bottom is her blog.
Lynne, click on Costume Lady, then go into Wanda's Wishes at the bottom of the page. (I think it is Wanda's Wishes.)
Thanks Lolly and Deb!
Time to fix a bite to eat. BBL
Nest is back to one eaglet at 12.
Great entries, Wanda! Paula in her glory! And such a wonderful memory trail for you and Gene!! Thanks for sharing.
Magpie,
Are you home from work yet? Sounds like you had a really busy day! You sounded a little harried at times! Hope your evening is relaxing!
We are currently investigating an email issue regarding intermittent MSN
/ Hotmail blocking Comcast.net servers. Comcast is currently working
with Microsoft to have this issue resolved. We apologize for this
inconvenience and are working toward a resolution as quickly as we can.
We do not have an estimate as to when resolution will occur. We thank
you for your patience.
Thank you for choosing Comcast.
Sincerely,
Danielle
Comcast Customer Care Specialist
**************************************************JO, just got this from COMCAST....
Empty nest.
just left, wonder if they will come back and spend the night
Now a parent. I hope they come back.
adult in nest.
That was funny, looked once and an adult, then refreshes to a juvie.
its magic...
You get so used to live feed, I wanted to play it over again to see what happened.
yep, do get used to it
looks like it is ready to bolt
gone............
The CO eaglets are sure getting big, 2 eggs at the osprey nest that had the geese in it, 2 falcon chicks at King Plant.
Howdy, all.
Cohen is here and we made mini pizzas, and went outside and threw the balls for the dogs, and Cohen ran up and down the yard with dogs.
Now we are going to watch a cartoon...
I see our nest is MT
"BBL." Love to all. xo
JO,
Just saw my first lightening bugs of the season, too! Remember catching them (phew! stinky) and putting them in mayo jar--daddy would punch holes in the lid w/ a nail! I actually tried to read by the light of them! LOL...
Hedgie - I always tried to keep them...and wondered why they wouldn't light up the next day!
yep, saw lightning bugs the other night walking to car at zoo, so nice and quiet at night, can't believe you are in the middle of the city....watching The Notebook...GOODNIGHT EVERYONE
Guess the sidewalks are all rolled up in Eagle land. No one in our nest tonight! Goodnight ya'll!
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS
Well mark me down as AWOL all evening
Some family came by & then we watched a movie. Now I am ready to call it a day!
Good Night everyone out there
in Eagle Land
Peaceful Sleep & Pleasant Dreams
Prayers for all our needs
Nighty-night to all from me too. Prayers and Best Wishes to all.
xoxo
May your "children" bring you a nice fresh fish or turtle today!
xoxoxoxo
Nice fresh fish delivery in Barton Cove, and the black birds (crows?) have flown over the nest a bunch this morning. You can really see them flitting past.
Good morning Magpie. Ditto. Happy Father's Day to all the men or the blog. NCTC men who put up with us. All our husband's and father's and Lib. All our service men who are away from their families. All have a good day.
Barton Cove Parent flew up to a branch, then I think she was out to do battle!
http://www.neenergyinc.com/eagles/default.asp
click on live cam. You get five mins of live cam at a time but can start it right back up again.
Looks like a juvie at BWO nest.
White storks and two chicks frisky right now. Seems like the older chick was hassling the younger one, Mom put her big foot on the older one's back, and now got her long skinny legs between the two of them - Go Mom! (Or, maybe it is DAD ?)
The stork thing didn't last long..now it is sprinkling there and parent is back down on the nest with the kids.
off to get a cup of tea bbl
GOOD MORNING CEIL - I already got my coffee...Happy Day in "Baltymore" to you. I have relatives in Ruxton...I think it is a beautiful city, love the old buildings downtown!
Morning!
Eaglet eating in the nest!
