THANKS LORETTA & DEB!!---The DELTA VIDEO is delightful!!!---REALLY ENJOYED watching!!-----Our 1st year we had a site & the OSPREYS had brought a "blue teddy" to the nest!!----The lady who took the pic (forget her name) left her photo for us to enjoy when she removed all of her other photos!!
OH DANA!!---WV NPR says we will probably have showers this afternoon & tomorrow!!!----(remember these weather forecast are WRONG--every now & then) ho!
Good morning Norma and to my baby sister mits. Good news about Beverly coming on Saturday. Our sister Mary Margaret will be joining us. I keep her informed of the eagles, ospreys, falcons and pandas etc. She does not have a computer. Maybe some day.
Really raining at Delta. I think she is even trying to keep that stuffed toy dry. Isn't it great the way we can go all over the world with computers. Love the Panama Canal. I better go have lots of errands today to get ready for our trip. BBL
THANKS HELEN!!----That is so interesting----never did get the loaded ship through----kept coming back!!---- ho!--I surprised to see how beautiful it is there----all the greenery!!----Don't know why!
Heavy storms coming in I have to shut down but wanted you to see a Fund Raiser for Buddy. This is an excellent photographer and any photo on his site will send proceeds to Buddys care
MORNIN' MOVIN'JIM!!----Haven't talked with you since you have had your 39th BIRTHDAY!!----Does it feel any different!!---ho!---KIDDIN'-----I know you are not a day over 30!!!!
8 by 10s are about $16. It was this photographer who first took the picture and spotted the lesion growing on Buddy's Beak. A photo of Buddy will only be 4 by 6 and less expensive as he has to crop it down so much. There are a myriad of photos to choose from though many of the Norfolk Eagles and also other gorgeous scenery from various places not just eagles.
Good Morning Everyone First check every day is to count birds and check email about a new great grandbaby that is so due (Germany). So I got 3 birds and no new baby yet!
I am headed off today for grandson's HS grad - Keep good eyes on our nest. Pearl just might think she has graduated and is ready to fly!!
Yes Norma All proceeds from now til end of the month are going towards Buddy's care. I found a gorgeous one from last year of one of the adults that I have just ordered.
Good morning all! Been catching up on all the comments. Thanks Mits for the canal cam. I think Jack will find that interesting.
I feel sure the OK eaglets have fledged. They were not their all yesterday evening and this morning there is just an adult in the nest.I really wanted to see that, sorry I missed it.
Helen I will be in front of the Whole foods store off Wisconsin Avenue- from 2-7... the Tenleytown store. In the parking garage. Bye all:) keep watching that nest!!
Eds grandson is helping (do mostly all) the applying of the toner on porches and ramp. He didn't show early this morning. I went over there he was very upset of course about dog. I didn't even know he had a dog. You should have seen my face when I said, "What is his name". He said, "Buddy". You could have brought me for 2 cents. I brought him over here and his girlfriend and me went looking for the dog.
LOLLY---I have been reading yesterday's blog!!---I pray that your eye has cleared up & you are feeling much better today!!!---Will keep you in my thoughts!!
CT NEST---FUNNY!!---All 3 older chicks lined up in a row & are asleep!!---Youngest is wide awake & keeps checking to see if MOM is still awake!!---She is just too CUTE!!
UPDATE: June 2 2008, 6pm by Dr. Dave McRuer, Director of Veterinary Services at the Wildlife Center of Virginia: Bald Eagle 08-0887 continues to have ups and downs. The eaglet has begun to resist feeding and no longer takes food off the forceps. At the present time, we have to physically open the bird's mouth and place the food in the back. The upper beak has continued to deviate laterally in the direction of the lesion and the main mass has invaded the tissue over the cutting surface of the upper beak. Due to this expansion, we speculate that the bird feels pain when manipulating food and hence is hesitant to eat. In response, we have increased the dose of anti-pain medication that we administer.
On a positive note, the mass appears to have decreased in size. The left nostril, which has been pressed firmly shut by the mass since the eaglet was admitted to the Wildlife Center, is now open and functioning. This is good news.
On the surgery front, we have consulted four separate veterinary surgeons/avian veterinarians regarding potential surgical techniques. We hope to have a surgery date locked down within the next few days but it really depends on surgeon availability and scheduling.

No official names, Danelle. We call them Pearl, Middy and either Tiny or something like Baby Littley, Sharon's name. I am not sure I spelled it the way she does.
Danelle, we haven't officially named them but we call the oldest "Pecking Pearl", "Middy" is the middle one and I personally call the youngest "Baby Littley" but the rest calls him "Tiny".

Sorry I disappeared for a minute-had to help a patient. What time are you all meeting on Saturday? And how do you get to the nest? I've been out to it, but it looked like it is on private property.
Danelle, Mema Jo has the details. Send her an email asking her the details and I am sure she will respond. Last year we met at the Clarion and went together to the nest from there.
Geeesh if I was Lib or Belle I think I would just do the fly over drop and not even try to land in that nest anymore. Very short visit. Looks like something small was dropped off.
Well, I just had grackles doing the nasty on my roof. The male blows himself out so much that he looks to be 3 times his size. Tail fans out, feathers poof out, wings fan out. That was beautiful except I didn't really want see the HP part!
They need to quit running Lib/Belle off when they come in the nest. Huge wad of eagle and eaglets when he/she landed a minute ago. Don't see anybody eating yet so there may have been no food brought in.
The doctor was not sure if I have a sinus infection or a virus. I am on antibiotics and got a steroid shot. The eye doctor thinks what ever I have has affected my surgery eye, or I was allergic to one of the drops. Anyway, my eye is red, swollen and itching!! I go back next Monday if not sooner.
Wonder if it is cold at the Delta nest. Both eaglets are trying to get under their mom. The both woke up for poop shoots and then headed head first under mom. So cute!
MEMA JO - been watching the blogs and the emails about it, pretty much planning to get there around 10:00 and was going to go straight to the site, but am kinda waiting for any other "official" instructions. Thanks.
MEMA JO: ps - I am beyond excited, as much to see the Eagles as to meet you guys. Am praying/hoping my workplace does not call me in to work that day, but it's always a possibility. I'll be watching for your updates on arrangements. And, Thanks.
HELLO EVERYONE:):) I just got back from farmers' market and got the prettiest bunch of peonies from one of the prettiest ladies I know, our own, "FLORALGIRL", Megan. She is in a great spot, very busy....
That's ok Dana! They are all still there but I guess it is Middy who is hanging on the edge at 5:00....
Didn't like the weather report, Paula I hope it misses the valley!!! Picnic of 20 some won't fit too well in son's house - However - he has a really large 2 car garage - Only a mother would think of that alternative!
Megans flowers are beautiful. She puts special "eagle love" into them. I just put the 2 boxes back up on the railing. The one that has 3 plants in it. Has 2 of them blooming and they are simply awesome. ( : ( : ty Megan you "special eagle flower lady". Can't wait to see my hummers.
Watched the Loon rise up over the eggs but couldn't see them because she flopped right back down after rolling them and did the longest wiggle ever to get situation on them.
Yes, Finland...I thought it was stunning when I first checked it about an hour ago, and now: Wowie-Zowie! I'd like to live in a nest with a view like that!
If we lived in CA, we would be able to go and see Skye and Spirit on Saturday at 4 pm. I bet that place will have a lot of people there coming to check on the eaglets.
Deb, I think you need to look at priorities here! What could possibly be more important than meeting all of us and seeing these 3 babies in action?? :):):)
It is definitely not more important, but I told my sister I would go see Sheryl Crow and Rascal Flats with her. I didn't think I should back out on her. Darn!
Have to go out but wanted to report what I just saw. Lib arrived with a fish and stood there looking at the eaglets. In just a minute, Belle arrived to feed the little darlings and Lib took off!

Here is an update on Buddy, the eaglet:
UPDATE: June 2 2008, 6pm
by Dr. Dave McRuer, Director of Veterinary Services at the Wildlife Center of Virginia:
Bald Eagle 08-0887 continues to have ups and downs.
Hello everyone! Sorry to have disappeared for a while. Have been very busy here at the hospital. So glad to talk to everyone!
TV has been showing all the small towns in SD that BILL has been visited!!-----
PS---Just read an item---About MR. RUSHMORE!----Very interesting person!!!----(maybe i can be a pr person for sd)----
Do we have names for our eaglets? (You can tell I haven't been around for a while).
HELLO!---HELLO DANELLE!!----I asked about you the other day!!---How are you?----We have MISSED you!!!--Can you meet with us 6/7----JO just told us that SANDY & TOM are going to stop by to say hello!!!
No official names, Danelle. We call them Pearl, Middy and either Tiny or something like Baby Littley, Sharon's name. I am not sure I spelled it the way she does.
Danelle, are you coming to visit the nest with us on Saturday?
Danelle, we haven't officially named them but we call the oldest "Pecking Pearl", "Middy" is the middle one and I personally call the youngest "Baby Littley" but the rest calls him "Tiny".
HI, DANIELLE...good to hear from you again.
Does anyone know how many of us are coming Saturday and where shall we meet?
DANELLE---They call one PEARL & one TINY & I really forget the other name!!----I call them #1--#2--& #3----They are hard to tell apart---unless they are all lined up!!---It's time for them to fledge!---Keep flapping their wings---but haven't fledged yet!!
THANKS SHARON!!----I couldn't remember the 3rd name!---No wonder they haven't fledged---They don't know their names yet!!!-----ho!KIDDIN'-----
WANDA----I don't know any details, etc. for Saturday!----
DANELLE---If you can't be with us during the day----PLEASE HAVE DINNER WITH US AT THE RUMSEY TAVERN in the CLARION!!!!
Jo will be sending out the details!
I just opened the Wild Watch Osprey cam and it snowed! Not a lot, but the nest has snow on it.
I opened Oregon to see if it snowed there, too. It is snowing right now. No snow in the nest, but flakes are coming down very lightly.
DEB----I just opened the OREGON site too!!----Didn't see any SNOW in the nest either!!----
I am going to assume that the third eaglet is hiding under the camera!
LOL I guess I will assume that too Sharon. Just got back from walking the dogs
SHARON---I guess that too kids!!---I have a hard time seeing
Yeah, I see a little movement there now.
Graduation has started now. Hope all goes well for Mema Jo's grandson's graduation! CONGRATULATIONS!
WHOA!!---Finally see #3!!
Sorry I disappeared for a minute-had to help a patient. What time are you all meeting on Saturday? And how do you get to the nest? I've been out to it, but it looked like it is on private property.
looks like it is getting breezy
Danelle, Mema Jo has the details. Send her an email asking her the details and I am sure she will respond. Last year we met at the Clarion and went together to the nest from there.
Ok, thanks, I'll be sure to email Mema Jo.
Geeesh if I was Lib or Belle I think I would just do the fly over drop and not even try to land in that nest anymore. Very short visit. Looks like something small was dropped off.
Teddy at the Delta nest is now leaning up against the tree. Soon, I am sure, to be dripping with poop.
Good Afternoon Danelle and Lolly ( :
Lolly hope you get to feeling better very soon.
Deb thanks for the report on Buddy the NBG eaglet.
Sun is going down in Finland
Your right teddy bear in Delta nest needs to be moved from the 2 tree trunks. eeekkk
Wow look at I think Middy getting the height
Whoa, big air lifts!
Thanks Dana, you and me both on this feeling better thing. I am not used to this. My eye itches so bad.....it is driving me crazy!
Meds are helping my head aches, so at least that is better.
Lolly is it a cold or allergies?
The doctor was not sure if I have a sinus infection or a virus. I am on antibiotics and got a steroid shot. The eye doctor thinks what ever I have has affected my surgery eye, or I was allergic to one of the drops. Anyway, my eye is red, swollen and itching!! I go back next Monday if not sooner.
Why are we getting static on the cam?
Mine is ok
Is yours ok now Lolly?
Yes, it has settled down, but something was causing interference.
Just sent Suz the info from the Scottish cam in case no one had sent it to her.
Wonder if it is cold at the Delta nest. Both eaglets are trying to get under their mom. The both woke up for poop shoots and then headed head first under mom. So cute!
Looks like one of them is eating something now
Wow what a lift off !!!
What the heck is going on in our nest?
WHOO HOO! Just got back from graduation & counted 3 on the 30 sec cam & by the time I got RP up/running there were 2 & In comes #3 from somewhere!!!
Jo he lifted straight up and was out of our sight for few seconds and back down to nest. I think he was just in the air over nest.
Dana I read up some comments & do you think that was Middy lifting off
I think it was Middy, it wasn't Tiny
Lolly The info from the scottish cam... was it the 5/30 info or something newer?
Paula Check email please
GLO - Great Video Clips you got from June 2.
Magpie What time you planning on being in Shepherdstown this Sat?
MEMA JO - been watching the blogs and the emails about it, pretty much planning to get there around 10:00 and was going to go straight to the site, but am kinda waiting for any other "official" instructions. Thanks.
Either or sounds ok! I'll send out email later this evening (after my grad's picnic)
Sorry I didn't answer you Jo. Someone came to door.
MEMA JO: ps - I am beyond excited, as much to see the Eagles as to meet you guys. Am praying/hoping my workplace does not call me in to work that day, but it's always a possibility. I'll be watching for your updates on arrangements. And, Thanks.
Just checked the radar - looks like we are in for one wet evening!
HELLO EVERYONE:):) I just got back from farmers' market and got the prettiest bunch of peonies from one of the prettiest ladies I know, our own, "FLORALGIRL", Megan. She is in a great spot, very busy....
Sorry Jo, was gone for a while.
It was the 5/30 Scottish news that I sent.
That's ok Dana! They are all still there but I guess it is Middy who is hanging on the edge at 5:00....
Didn't like the weather report, Paula
I hope it misses the valley!!!
Picnic of 20 some won't fit too well in son's house - However - he has a really large 2 car garage - Only a mother would think of that alternative!
Yea, Mits! I told Megan I would be her #1 customer if I lived in the area. How much fun!
she is as pretty and nice as her flowers are, Lolly
Hello Mits - Lolly!!
So our Peonies Lady was doing ok!!
I bet you made her day!! That is so
cool!!
she is only 10-15 mins from my house
Ohhh, I want to be there Sat. so badly. I want to meet all of you!!! Do have fun enough for me too! :)
The eaglet at one o'clock looks like it is really flattened out on his tummy!
I think the wind is getting up some. Might be more lift offs just into the air.
Eagle just layed at Delta
Food drop off?
Gotta roll!
Adult just did a touch and go, stirred up the eaglets some. Looks like they are yakking!
I'm not sure but it looks like the eaglet is trying to fly away with the fish, not getting anywhere though.
Think it was stuck in its talons:):)
hey Deb, are you having trouble getting onto the heron cam...?
I'll try, I was on this morning.
Beautiful sunset in Over the Water Nest in Finland.
I can't get on. It was raining this morning, I wonder if they are having some weather related problems?
I have tried before during our morning hours & can't access the Heron cam but later it comes up in no time at all. Keep trying!!
Watched the Loon rise up over the eggs but couldn't see them because she flopped right back down after rolling them and did the longest
wiggle ever to get situation on them.
thanks, I'll keep trying, sounds like wet roads at DELTA...
Yes Magpie I have been watching Finland. Isn't it just peaceful there ?
on the wildlife watch opsrey cam, it looks like smoke in the woods to the rght of the nest.
Yes Mits I would say that is a stream of smoke! Hope it is from a chimney!
Oh my look at Finland now so beautiful !!
Headed out for the picnic - they say it is rain or shine affair!
I really hope I don't need to eat in the garage BUT
It is what it is lol
Yes it does Mits over in the woods area. Across the water looks like it is getting bigger.
ACTUALLY I AM WRONG ABOUT FINLAND TIME, IT IS TEN MINTUES TO ONE IN THE MORNING THERE, THEY ARE 7 HOURS AHEAD OF US
I just called them so they can check the smoke out....boy are they nice and welling. Thank you very much they said. Thanks Mits, Jo ( :
00:55a.m. in Finland
smoke is getting less at WW opsrey site
Yes, Finland...I thought it was stunning when I first checked it about an hour ago, and now: Wowie-Zowie! I'd like to live in a nest with a view like that!
that osprey has a million dollar view:)
It really is an awesome site at Finland. Casting colors on the water.
Mitsthe coordinator of the WildWatchcam was very thankful that someone noticed and someone call. His name is Chuck Gibilisco.
I was so excited about the smoke.
I seen one of our eaglets get the fish and start deheading it to eat. Did any of the other 2 get any?
I bet he was, smoke got really bad, but I was assuming that was when the water was been sprayed on it, looks better now
bbl fixing dinner
If we lived in CA, we would be able to go and see Skye and Spirit on Saturday at 4 pm. I bet that place will have a lot of people there coming to check on the eaglets.
I would love to be there....
Me, too. I would also love to be in WV on Saturday. ): Hmm, how can I be in three places at once??
WISH YOUR WERE COMING, TOO, DEB.
Deb, I think you need to look at priorities here! What could possibly be more important than meeting all of us and seeing these 3 babies in action?? :):):)
you tell her, Sharon:):)
even Buddy the Bassett Hound is coming:)
It is definitely not more important, but I told my sister I would go see Sheryl Crow and Rascal Flats with her. I didn't think I should back out on her. Darn!
still se smoke out near osprey cam at WW
Thunder in Shepherdstown.
Not calling for severe weather; just some thunderstorms
There is supper!
Nobody touching it?
WOW look at that fish that Lib brought in!
Not even a fight over it!
They're looking at it like it has 3 eyes!
AHA - Mom arrived and Lib left!
Ther's Mom, she'll decide what to do.
Both Liberty and Belle was in our nest. One left and the other is feeding fish to the eaglets.
Maybe they heard Mom and figured they's better not touch it!!
Hard rain now.
Have to go out but wanted to report what I just saw. Lib arrived with a fish and stood there looking at the eaglets. In just a minute, Belle arrived to feed the little darlings and Lib took off!
