That was a smooth split -
Hubby and I did venture out earlier for dinner - Roads we were on were great but now the fog is settling into my valley. More snow after
midnight they say. Had to stop by Duncan Donutw and hubby got a cup for home in the morning.....

I am going to check out the TV schedule for the evening.

Wahoooo! They say sunshine tomorrow!!! Wahooooo!

Escape from house today was great but a wee bit scary! Hope to get out tomorrow to shop here in town. No trip to Fort Worth!

Lolly said...

Just think.....Laurel, Joey and the boys have missed 3 days of school, plus the weekend. 5 days of being ice bound!!!!

Lolly said...

Wore my hiking boots into town. Glad I had them as the ice was still in parking lots.

Lolly said...

Hoda, Jack and I both wear gloves purchased in Canada. Jack has had his several years but I purchased mine last fall. Love them....so very warm!!

Hoda said...

So glad you wore your hiking boots LOLLY. They do have better grip even though if you are not careful you can still slip. Oh I worried when I saw JACK out in sneakers! They are very slippery. He was vertical and so I but my tongue. Get him to wear KIS hiking boots too will ya'?
Gloves are important. Glad your Canadian ones work.

LORI thank you for checking in. Glad you had a good day and are safe.

I have a candle lit for PAULA as I am sure she headed out. Hoping to hear from her soon.

Sun set here is at 3:48 PM. 13 more sleeps and we start gaining!!! I can do this! I can do this!!!
Several people today had the experience of their vehicule's door handles coming right off in their hands!!! A tad chilly I must say.

Hoda said...

Glad Denton Schools are closed tomorrow too

good evening folks.

its been a busy day.

i went to work, but only had one massage from 8 to 9:30. i had been fully booked as of sat night, but, with impending snow (all 1/2 inch anticipated during the over night hours tonight), i suppose people thought it prudent to cancel. that's ok i was tired and i also had stuff to do.

i had to go to get some more bling bling for livvy's tigger costume. back to michaels! hit up the dollar tree...and came home.

i spent the afternoon cleaning my down stairs store room. uh hem, some people thing they should just toss stuff in there, and there was that day when i cleaned out michael and ashley's side, i had had a few boxes over there. i got my room back togeher and can walk thru it. miracles never cease!

i also put stuff back in the barn that belonged there.

i managed to get the tree up. tom is shaping it right now. the heelers will have a fit with this!

i also have been putting rhinestones on this one costuem. the other one came in today and surprise surprise (NOT) it is too big in the bodice, so I have it pinned and ready to take in a bit.

i also have to take in both pair of leg warmers/covers. i will simply add velcrow to those.

i have to have this done tomorrow and i think that is very do-able. there is a tv taping on wednesday afternoon for a local televsion program.

this is one busy week. i am glad i am off tomorrow and most of wednesday to get this stuff done. i also want to bake a few cookies. weshall see on that one.

i am getting a massage in the morning, provided Ma Nature doens't mess up the traffic. If she does and I can't I will reschedule. Not worried about it.

I am tired tonight. Went to be dlate and didn't sleep well.

HAPPY BIRHDAY CINDI!

Hope everyone is doing well this evening. Thinking about a hot shower and some sleep.

Evening all.

Safely back in paradise ..have Larry's car till after Christmas . Talked to my mechanic today. Damage on wheel not too bad. Also have him doing some other things like timing belt and all other belts. He says my front end problem should not have made the wheel come off. So very lucky yesterday .

Brother Steve is here too..we talked all the way down. Nick is happy to see Uncle Steve . Expecting a dusting to 1 1/2"of snow herel tomorrow so...can you believe it?

Will have to check ISS schedule and see if I have any chance this week...if it clears up later in the week .

paula eagleholic said...

It Will be nice to have my brother Steve here...haven't seen him for 3months...

Roads were great for the drive. No snow here at my roost..they had maybe an inch an hour north of here...it was all but melted when we drove thru.

Hoda said...

So happy to see your posts PAULA.
Thank you for checking in.
Glad the trip was pleasant and that your Bro is with you and Nick is happy.
Glad there is a fix for the truck.
I wonder what happened then to cause the wheel to come off according to the mechanic?

Blessed Be

LORI you asked about Dana's father. He is in a centre as he broke his pelvis when he took a fall. He was in a great deal of discomfort. He was not home for Thanksgiving but they hope he will be for Christmas. He had to be there for six weeks. DANA and her family have been awesome as you would think. They took Thanksgiving to him at the health place and she spends quite a bit of time " hanging out with dad and mom"

Dana's dad also needs an IV medication as well as I recall

Good Tuesday Morning all!

PAULA, glad you got home safely. Sorry about your car. Nice that you can drive Larry's car.

I'm up early to study for a quiz today. Checked on the cats, they're fine...none took up in my cozy bed inside the BBQ cupboard - maybe they just don't know it's there. It's the darn wind that makes it feel so cold outside.

Hope MD, WV and the Sycamore Palace do well in today's snowfall. Kate called last night with questions about running the snow blower. Hope it worked for her.

Have a great day, everyone!!!
Stay warm and be safe.

L♥ve you all!

HODA, thanks for the update on DanaMo's Dad.

Prayers for Dana's Dad, SANDI's Brian, Michael, the Norms and Kelsey's Mom.

Good morning Lori and all my eagle friends. Still just raining here but I am hoping that changes this afternoon. Would love to see just enough snow to cancel parent teacher conferences - otherwise, it's a long day for me. Conferences are from 5:30 - 8pm. This is just such a busy time of year - I would prefer that the conference night be in January.

Paula, glad you made it back to Paradise safely. Enjoy your visit with your brother!

Prayers continue for Dana's dad, Kelsey's mom, both Norms, and Michael. Brian will be on a plane back home one week from today!

Make it a great day!

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

SANDI, makes me happy to think of Brian boarding that plane and heading home for holiday fun !

LORI, thinking of you and that quiz today--praying for your safety as you travel to and from classes and the hospital. PA has had it far worse than OH so far.

We got another couple of inches of the fluffy white stuff overnight. Julie and I were planning on shopping for a new dishwasher for their house today, but had to cancel. She's not easily intimidated by snow and ice, but this is so fresh that the plows have made little to no headway.

Last nights dinner was wonderful---a lot of deliciously decadent dishes to sample ! And, all for such a good cause.

Seth has two more finals, both in communications courses, and then home on Wednesday night. He won't return til' January 27th, so we'll have lots of time together ! Yesterday he took the French final and by last night had his grade for the semester--a B !! That's due in part to good tutoring by his mom and he took advantage of the five extra credit opportunities the prof offered. We never dared dream he'd ever be a college student, but he's meeting the challenge so valiantly !

PAULA, it's grand that you are safely back in paradise and that brother Steve is with you and Nick !

Prayers for all in need, with a special request that DANA's dad will make it home for Christmas !

Love you Momsters, Dadsters, Kidsters and Petsters !

Good morning! 19 here this morning but we are up to 25 and we have SUNSHINE!!!!!☺

Hoping to get out do some shopping but it may not be until tomorrow. Thinking that the really wet, ice patchy streets need a little more time to be safe!! The world is still white but the streets are clearing.

Our backyard is a Whitewing Dove heaven this morning. OMG! They are on the ground, on the feeders, and thick around the stream and pond.

Good morning all! A snow day off!!!! I would say I will take a lazy day, but we ALL know better. The good news is I have the band costume (it arrived yesterday) altered. I just have to go out and get some velcro to make the warmers/covers fit better. Woot Woot!
JUDYE: I think a bit of MOM just came out in me: I had limburger on rye w/ butter and a cup of coffee for breakfast, lol!

LOLLY: you know I don't typically think of TX a having much winter weather, but I think you have had mre than us!

LORI: rock those grades! holding you close in heart and thought.

EVERYONE: Remember the rules, NO falling and stay SAFE! <3 <3

We have about an inch of beautiful snow, but it isn't very cold It already in the 30's and the su is out. Its is melt melt meltng....

Tom got up first @ 5:30 and found out quickly, no school. So I rolled back over an slept til 8.

Sounds as though everyone is safe either at home or wherever you traveled this morning. I think we can relax and get this snowfall cleaned up before more may come on Saturday. Hubby was happy to have his morning Duncan Doughnut waiting for him in our frig... The snow came down fast and for only about 3 hrs or less - about 4-5" sticking to the trees.
I did put some pics on FB of my back yard and of my feeder with Mr Red

Hi everyone!

LOLLY, the world is white here, too. Hate the crunchy ice - it's still slippery.

JO & SHIRLEY, I miss MD/DC so much. Sorry to see your getting the usual dumpings of snow. We get snow more often here, but not the amount you get every so often.

SANDI, YAY - the thought of Brian on his way home brings a big smile to my face.

JANET, lucky you and a snow day. I haven't had one of those yet. :) Glad to see the seamstress in you coming out. Thanks for the special thoughts. Big hugs!

KAY, so happy for you that Seth will soon have finals behind him and get a super, duper LONG break. Wish I was so lucky. I can see you beaming from ear to ear from here. :) Please tell him congratulations on the B, from one who can relate. Great job, Seth!

Just need to say that I may not be on the blog as consistently through next week. There's just way too much homework, reading, projects to do, tests to study for, papers to write, etc., that I am beginning to feel like I'm sinking under all of this. So, I shall try my hardest and put my nose to the grindstone to get it all done, but I must give up some of my precious time with my best friends until I get over this hurdle before the holidays.

Prayers will continue.

LOVE you all so much - thanks for your support and encouragement.

JO, enjoy your evening with Michael !

Have a good evening everyone !

Good evening all! Schools here closed 2 hours early and all after school events were canceled - translation, no parent conferences til 8pm! I came home and took a little nap! We ended up getting NO snow - never changed over from rain! :)

Kay, that's some semester break for Seth! Towson University, where I went, had long winter breaks so they could have mini-mester classes - loved that extended break!! Congrats to Seth on the B in French - I know how proud you are of him and how happy you are that he is doing so well in his first semester away from home - many freshmen don't do well at all!

Lori, even if we don't hear from you, we'll be thinking of you and sending positive energy your way!! Stay the course - you're doing great and all your hard work will be worth it in the end!!

Dogs are fed, now to get people food on the table! Stay warm and safe everyone! Oh BTW, just got an email from Brian that he is leaving Yemen on Thursday to fly to Malaysia before flying back to the States.

Hi, Gang,
Dropping in quickly to say hello.
It was cold here again this morning, but not as bad as yesterday. Started out at 37º, and is in the 60s now. The winds are gone.

Lori, can't explain HOW PROUD I am of you! You are doing great with your new nursing adventure!
Our dear Lynn is surely watching over you! She must be proud of your accomplishments, too!

Having a bit of a problem with our water/electric bill. The City doesn't have a new invoice in the computer system on their website. Have been looking for it since the end of November. Called them a couple of times, and they finally called back. They say they couldn't FIND our meter! It's right on the side of our house, and it's outside of the fence around the back yard. How do you lose an electric meter?LOL It's one of those newfangled "smart" meters. Guess that explains it!
Supervisor is supposed to call me back tonight or tomorrow.

Forgot to mention that we got a new 32" TV for the bedroom over the weekend. Got it set up yesterday, and it gets a nice picture. DirecTV comes out on Monday to swap out our equipment so we'll get HD TV! Can't wait!

Well, need to go feed Emma her dinner. Prayers for everyone and every furbaby. Have a good evening, and I'll try to stay awake long enough after dinner to get back here and say goodnight.
I ♥ us!!

JudyEddy said...

LORI just wanted you to know that I will be keeping you close to heart in the next couple of weeks and we all know that you think of us and just remember we are always here for you Good luck on all your testing

JudyEddy said...

Lolly said...

Right there with you, Judy. We have a flat screen HD TV in our bedroom and it seldom gets turned on. I watch TV from my chair and in front of the TV. Jack likes to watch all sports from the TV in our study. He likes to sit up close!

I got out and did some shopping today! Yea! Plan to go out again tomorrow.

Some ice melted today, but it is already down to 29.

My friends.
I come to you with a heavy heart this morning and am asking for your light, your love, healing and comforting thoughts; all that is for the highest and greatest good for a dear, dear friend of mine.
This person is very very private, so please do NOT mention this via facebook. But I have seen the power of light and love, therefore, I ask on her behalf.
You know I mention my gal pals, nancy and chris from time to time. Chris and I have known each other and been friends for about 19 years now. We met because she and her now ex husband lived across the street from tom when he and I started to date. Our oldest kids grew up together, Aaron (now 21) Jaimie, (now 15) and my Chelsea and Michael. Chris was holding my hand, quite literally, when Olivia was born.
There is nothing, Nancy, Chris and I cannot talk about.
Yesterday Chris was admitted to the hospital with extreme stomach pain. When I first talked to Nancy they suspected a blocked bowel. Noone was prepared for the diagnosis.
Hodgkins Lymphoma.
They called her mom and ex husband. Today, after the morning tests etc are run, they will tell her children.
From what I read, the good news to hang onto is this is one of the more treatable forms of cancer. She does however, have a tumor in her stomach region and that must be dealt with immediately.
Having my beliefs, such as I do, I believe everything for a reason. Her outcome is dependent on her journey, where she is in this journey, and I have to accept that. But love and light for the highest and greatest good, comfort for her and those closest to her, especially her kids, are so needed.
Thank you in advance. I will check in later.
Namaste
