I have to admit--back in November, we were very worried that the birds may have moved on to another nest. It is normal that a nest is abandoned after six or seven years. We had heard from local folks that there were potentially two other nests within a few minutes flying time of our tree, and the fact that the birds were not hanging around very much had us concerned.
Based on the past few weeks though, things seem pretty much going the same as in the past. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it is a smooth start to the nesting season.

Wow. Really like the new looks here. First - Hope everything and everyone has been well. And if not, you were able to get through OK. Happy Late New Year - Been a very hectic and busy last few weeks. A busy season for my work, boss has been nursing a sore foot and I've been working a great many hours while suffering from the worst cold/flu/infection thing that I can remember. Worked three 10 hour plus days last week to top things off. Can't complain because we can use the funds and I am working. Watched the nest some this morning looks like not much going on there now. Is it my imagination or the view of the nest different now? Hope I can be a little more active now. Take care all.

Oh, so very glad to have our nest and our cam. Hate the thought of them building another nest elsewhere.
The Llano eagles have had three different nests in the last few years, but all close to the highway in the same area. The highway dept built a parking area and put up pedestrian warning signs and then the eagles moved their nest. However, you just park and walk the path a little further down.
Today we have a large group from our church going to the Boars Head Festival at the large Univ. Christian Church in Fort Worth. It is awesome...have not been in several years but it is so grand and the music fantastic. A great way to end the Christmas season.
Have been watching little birdies pick at the nest. Brave little souls!
Laurel cooked her first meal at the new house and she slept in her own bed last night. But, still so much more to move...mainly Joey's stuff!! But she still needs her china cabinet and piano and the patio furniture.
I am off to start my day! Will be back this evening!

Strangest event to report. Kept hearing mooing last night. Could FFax Cty have spiked the water supply? Am I schizophrenic and hearing animal voices? Then the sandperson literally dragged himself, exhausted. Said he was seriously delayed making rounds (especially getting to southern B.C.) because his routes were all blocked by mooing cows. Very strange event, indeed.
Okay, time for more coffee and to rub some ribs.

Thanks everyone! I am home, and so is mom. Dad will be kept overnight. They didn't have his blood transfusion started yet when mom left.
There are a number of things going on. His creatonine levels were high in his kidney (the good one) this can be really bad because he only has one functioning kidney and this is showing that kidney is not functioning at it's fullest. There are a number of things that could have caused it though. One is that he could have been dehydrated, which actually can be from the chemo which caused him to be so tired.... sounds like the snowball effect. He also has fluid on his lungs....pleural effusion, anemia (needs 4 pints of blood) and COPD (his is on O2). I'm really not happy with him because he said he didn't feel well on Wednesday. He didn't want mom to call the doctor. When I went over Wednesday afternoon he told me they would call in the morning. When I stopped Thursday he said he felt better (which I did not believe, but how do you get a 75 year old man to do something if he doesn't want to?). I think this has been coming on all week! Hopefully the IV fluids and blood transfusion will get him back to "normal" again. I am worried that these setbacks are going to cause the doctor in Baltimore not to do the surgery. I want to get this surgery done so that those cancerous parts of him are removed. What a day! Geesh. Thanks for all the prayers they are greatly appreciated. Love you all!

SANDI I am glad LYNNIS is not going to Yemen and I hope there is a security check where by when BRIAN leaves a building he checks in and out and checks back in when he arrives to another building. They do this with our Diplomats in troublesome areas. Also a Cell phone contact every few hours to verify safety and where abouts and a security team always on the ready to evacuate and or protect those who are serving there. BRIa is certainly in my prayers till he comes home safely after he is deployed...Bless his heart.

I found a small turtle shell w/both parts intact in the grass at Chelsea yesterday. Thought it might be interesting for kitties, but then thought better of that. Had rinsed it, wrapped in paper towels, but left in car. Told daughter about it and she said turtles are known to carry salmonella! So, if you want to use it, it should soak in disinfectant and always wash hands w/soap after handling turtles or coming in contact with their water.
Well, gotta answer some emails and do the do for appt. tomorrow. What else do we do on days off?

Dana, Sorry to hear of your Dad's problems. When my DH was on chemo, he had to get blood several times. Don't be surprised if he has to stay more than one day they may try to get rid of the pleural effusion while he is there. Of course this is strictly guessing on my part............

Well, Margy wasn't the only one to get ahead of the sandperson. Watched the Ravens (yea), the 'Skins (boo), Downton Abby (yea) then fell down asleep.

Belle in the nest!
Belle is still in the nest, being a lookout. Not sure if Shep is near or not. There appeared to be a nest cup this morning, at about 12 o'clock position.
And Belle just flew off

It doesn't look like they're really doing much in the way of preparing the nest for breeding. I wonder if it's become a feeding and lookout platform instead?

Sammy, Michael's oldest granddaughter has a tumor on her pituitary gland on the left side. Going to do another MRI
this week for a closer look. Left alone it could cause blindness so pray for her to have the best results!

Delphia, you asked about the intentions of our eagle pair. I don't get to see them often, but a few days ago, saw Belle wiggling her body quite vigorously in the nest bowl area. Hope that means they are STAYING!
Has anyone seen any HP? If not, that is NOT a good sign!
