Wahoo...got to see my family this evening. I forgot my camera (the one that is always in my purse, just in case), so no photos. Jayden is growing up so fast and is so very charming. He is coming along really well with his words...he will say anything you ask him. Some words are perfect and others are hysterical! His brother (Brantley) is due April 24. I think Paula's granddaughter has a birthday near that date.
Friends of ours from High School and our church, lost their son to suicide. 250 to 300 are expected at the church services and meal. Gene and I plan to go in early to help as much as we can...need sleep now!

They'll see their new furever family at 1 this afternoon but have to drop them off at 11 since Kate is going to her Mom's for the arrival of her Down's Syndrome sister who is going to be living at home with their Mom.
Sorry I left for some fb gaming. I thought it looked like she ducked too but with the slow mo hard to tell. I'm glad we both thought the same thing. I don't want to do bad reporting!
Well Words with Friends but I'm terrible at it, it's like scrabble. PAULA kicked my butt! She's really good. I also like zuma Blitz, it's kinda mindless but good after a long day at school. I also like Farkle, sorta like Yahtzee. Those are the 3 I play. Sometimes Bejeweled another mindless game. But you play "against" people on your friend list that also play the same games so there is some competition which adds to it. We always end up teasing each other at school and going on about our scores so we get some laughs out of it too.
Lori, see your preparations for Bobby and LeRoy.... interesting on my mind are the dynamics amongst the rest of the Househould Furries when these two leave....

I'm thinking about a drive over to Shep'town this weekend. I've got nothing going on so I might take my new doubler. I don't have a big lens like Lori, but I might be able to do something with my doubler. I wanted to buy it for my 400, but didn't realize until it arrived the size was for my 300, so it will get me 600, but not 800.
Mars, Saturn, the Big Dipper, Bootes (should be two little "dots" over the word Bootes but I can't do that here ☺ ) are all out...lots of beautiful sky things this month and next, morning and evening
Wow that's a big responsibility. Is Kate's mom able to care for her? Maybe responsibility isn't the right word, but one of my co workers has a sister that is downs. She has lived with Tina all her life. It's really....a lot of work? A labor of love for sure. Tina's parents died a long time ago and she has always had her sister. She is married and has 2 children and the sister is just part of the family, but adds an interesting dynamic for sure.
Yea and I will lose resolution too. I realize that, and about the focus. But it was really inexpensive so I thought I would give it a try. Inexpensive, may mean not worth it at all, but nothing ventured nothing gained and for the price, well...
Kate's Mom is 90, though very capable. Having them both in the same house will be a challenge at times, but easier with the need for just one person to come in and care for both of them. Her Mom will be able to care for Ann in many ways.

Lori and DMO, sounds like you both know photography. Denny wanted me to ask the group a question. He bought a Nikon D7000 about 6 months ago with a 55 - 300mm zoom. He has been practicing with it b/c, when we go to Tanzania this July, we'll be going on safari and he wants to get trillions of great shots. He was into photography before we even met, so this has always been his hobby. He would like to know what kind of lens to get that would allow better close up shots. DMO, you mentioned a doubler. Any advice?
I have a 300 as well and feel like it doesn't get it done in nature. The pictures I took of the nest and eagles was with that lens and I had to crop them on the computer in order to get it closer up. By doing that you lose resolution and any chance at printing a large picture without have alot of grain. The thing with a large lens though is having the ability to use a tri-pod or mono pod, which of course makes it cumbersome. Lori?? I defer to you.
DanaMo, that is exactly why I got the 500 lens...I just wasn't happy with what I was getting in the way of closeness with the 300 and was doing like you did with cropping every pic I really wanted to see.
Yeah...doubler is a cheap mans way of getting the extra, I would never recommend it. I just didn't have $1,000 to spend on the lens I really want. We check for them on ebay all the time. I've been successful with ebay, but just don't have the cash at this point in my life for that.
I have always loved photography. Prefer nature and architecture to people. Used to be able to develop my own back in the day of film. Loved being in the darkroom watching my prints come to life. Wow those were fun days ☺
We're still paying for the camera in 18 interest-free payments, Lori! So, how much will this 400mm or more lens add to our Best Buy balance?? Rough estimate!!
Denny is able to claim the camera equipment as business equipment. B/c he manages people's houses during the winter while they're living elsewhere, if he spots a problem, he takes spic and emails them to the client to show them what he's seeing.
He should go to a good camera shop, get advice, play with the camera and then go get it at Best Buy for the better price. Pick the brain of someone who is really knowledgeable at a camera store, seriously. I know we have a great shop here in town, of course prices are higher, but their knowledge is invaluable. Let him hold the camera with one of those big lens on and see the difference the sizes make.
I bought my lens at Amazon for 1,100. Got a great package deal on the camera at Cameta Camera (online) but they don't have the great deals like they used to. Check Amazon and around online and you can probably get it cheaper than Best Buy. Always, and I'm sure you do, read the reviews.
Thanks for the lens advice Lori and Dana! I'll pass it along to Denny. Another $1000, eh? Kinda thought so!! My hobby is so much cheaper - $100 for a decent racquet, $3 for a can of balls! And so much healthier!
I have always done my big prayers offline in private. I did the big one online although I did not mention (persons name). They themselves could have been on fb talking to people about it don't know. I was sort of inspired by that long beautiful prayer Linda did. It was awesome!!!

Still have not gotten my all-in-one printer to play nicely with the new laptop - I can print but not scan wirelessly. So a friend, who has his own "I can fix your computer" business is coming over this AM to install the software and update the drivers. He seems to think it has to do with Vista 32-bit on the old computer, which the printer liked, and Windows7 64-bit, which the computer doesn't currently like. Tony is sure he can make them like one another, which is one reason why I LOVE Tony!
LYNN, you commented about Trap Pond State Park. Someone at work mentioned it at lunch time yesterday and commented how close it is to us, so I mentioned it to Denny. Denny said, "OMG, I remember that my parents took me there when I was a kid!" The weather is supposed to be nice today (rain and snow tomorrow may mess with Sunday plans ... grrr) so Denny's going to play with his camera and I'll nature watch!

LORI, when we had to give our cat Shadow away b/c both Denny and Kevin were allergic, we were fortunate that our across-the-street neighbor took him. So we could see him whenever we wanted. i LOVEd that cat!!
I still wish I could convince my mom to rescue a cat/kitten. They're so much easier to care for than a dog, since she is unable to do dog walks, yet they are such great companions.

Good Morning Eagle Buds JudyE reporting for Sat morning first day of vacation slept in and boy did that feel nice Now I did wake up several times and roll over and look at the clock and said what the hay and decided to try and sleep a little longer I heard the cats running back and forth First I thought maybe rats then I remembered the cats LOL boy can they make a ruckus but fell back asleep My neck is killing me I shall no play on the puter today I know that is what did it I still have the one video that didn't' post and just trying to put it on now WOW these cats are odd just slammed each other against the wall BIG BANG funny Its a wonder they don't hurt each other I am waiting for coffee to get done and will then start to do some cleaning which has been ignored since I work you know not the basic picking up But cleaning and will probably go out side for a while who knows what the day will bring will play it by ear so to speak I only have 110 comments to read and not as many email either

Good morning! Just a quick peek in. Saw Belle on the nest and then saw Shep fly in and take over the duties. I love the gentle chirps between the two, do not like beakering. LOL
We leave in about 40 minutes for basketball! Then I think Jacob is coming home with us and Laurel and Joseph soon follow. Yea! Soooo, I will not be on here much. Those boys take over the computers. LOL That is okay, they are getting to the age where toys do not entertain them.
We woke up to over an inch of rain during the night. That was not expected!! We expected drizzle. Would you believe we are soggy? Wish I could bottle it and save it for this summer.
I feel that all has been said that needs to be said about our feelings towards each other. I dislike that kind of disruption happening within our group. I respect each of your feelings and have no bones to pick.... I would do it in private if I did. ♥
Back home from dropping off Bobby and LeRoy. Feel like I had them too long, since Father's Day, so I'm shedding a lot of tears. The others were not as tearful as Bobby and LeRoy have me. I was content to have done my job fostering, taming them and finding them a great forever home...these two just got to me. Still, I know they have a great home and people who will love them as much as I did. Sorry for blubbering.

I'm thinking about a drive over to Shep'town this weekend. I've got nothing going on so I might take my new doubler. I don't have a big lens like Lori, but I might be able to do something with my doubler. I wanted to buy it for my 400, but didn't realize until it arrived the size was for my 300, so it will get me 600, but not 800.
Mars, Saturn, the Big Dipper, Bootes (should be two little "dots" over the word Bootes but I can't do that here ☺ )
are all out...lots of beautiful sky things this month and next, morning and evening

Wow that's a big responsibility. Is Kate's mom able to care for her? Maybe responsibility isn't the right word, but one of my co workers has a sister that is downs. She has lived with Tina all her life. It's really....a lot of work? A labor of love for sure. Tina's parents died a long time ago and she has always had her sister. She is married and has 2 children and the sister is just part of the family, but adds an interesting dynamic for sure.

Kate's Mom is 90, though very capable. Having them both in the same house will be a challenge at times, but easier with the need for just one person to come in and care for both of them. Her Mom will be able to care for Ann in many ways.
Ann is very high functioning but losing her memory like the rest of us!

Lori and DMO, sounds like you both know photography. Denny wanted me to ask the group a question. He bought a Nikon D7000 about 6 months ago with a 55 - 300mm zoom. He has been practicing with it b/c, when we go to Tanzania this July, we'll be going on safari and he wants to get trillions of great shots. He was into photography before we even met, so this has always been his hobby. He would like to know what kind of lens to get that would allow better close up shots. DMO, you mentioned a doubler. Any advice?
WOW Sandi, nice camera! I have a low end Nikon but I love it.
For the best shots Sandi, definitely a large lens, 400 or more (without the doubler) for ease and picture quality. Tripod is a must.
I have a 300 as well and feel like it doesn't get it done in nature. The pictures I took of the nest and eagles was with that lens and I had to crop them on the computer in order to get it closer up. By doing that you lose resolution and any chance at printing a large picture without have alot of grain. The thing with a large lens though is having the ability to use a tri-pod or mono pod, which of course makes it cumbersome.

DanaMo, that is exactly why I got the 500 lens...I just wasn't happy with what I was getting in the way of closeness with the 300 and was doing like you did with cropping every pic I really wanted to see.
Yeah...doubler is a cheap mans way of getting the extra, I would never recommend it. I just didn't have $1,000 to spend on the lens I really want. We check for them on ebay all the time. I've been successful with ebay, but just don't have the cash at this point in my life for that.
I have always loved photography. Prefer nature and architecture to people. Used to be able to develop my own back in the day of film. Loved being in the darkroom watching my prints come to life. Wow those were fun days ☺
We're still paying for the camera in 18 interest-free payments, Lori! So, how much will this 400mm or more lens add to our Best Buy balance?? Rough estimate!!
Denny is able to claim the camera equipment as business equipment. B/c he manages people's houses during the winter while they're living elsewhere, if he spots a problem, he takes spic and emails them to the client to show them what he's seeing.
He should go to a good camera shop, get advice, play with the camera and then go get it at Best Buy for the better price. Pick the brain of someone who is really knowledgeable at a camera store, seriously. I know we have a great shop here in town, of course prices are higher, but their knowledge is invaluable. Let him hold the camera with one of those big lens on and see the difference the sizes make.

I bought my lens at
Amazon for 1,100. Got a great package deal on the camera at Cameta Camera (online) but they don't have the great deals like they used to. Check Amazon and around online and you can probably get it cheaper than Best Buy. Always, and I'm sure you do, read the reviews.

I have always done my big prayers offline in private. I did the big one online although I did not mention (persons name). They themselves could have been on fb talking to people about it don't know. I was sort of inspired by that long beautiful prayer Linda did. It was awesome!!!

Still have not gotten my all-in-one printer to play nicely with the new laptop - I can print but not scan wirelessly. So a friend, who has his own "I can fix your computer" business is coming over this AM to install the software and update the drivers. He seems to think it has to do with Vista 32-bit on the old computer, which the printer liked, and Windows7 64-bit, which the computer doesn't currently like. Tony is sure he can make them like one another, which is one reason why I LOVE Tony!
LYNN, you commented about Trap Pond State Park. Someone at work mentioned it at lunch time yesterday and commented how close it is to us, so I mentioned it to Denny. Denny said, "OMG, I remember that my parents took me there when I was a kid!" The weather is supposed to be nice today (rain and snow tomorrow may mess with Sunday plans ... grrr) so Denny's going to play with his camera and I'll nature watch!
Restarted but need to get ready to go to the grossery store. Big date with my hubby! ☺

LORI, when we had to give our cat Shadow away b/c both Denny and Kevin were allergic, we were fortunate that our across-the-street neighbor took him. So we could see him whenever we wanted. i LOVEd that cat!!

Good morning! Just a quick peek in. Saw Belle on the nest and then saw Shep fly in and take over the duties. I love the gentle chirps between the two, do not like beakering. LOL
We leave in about 40 minutes for basketball! Then I think Jacob is coming home with us and Laurel and Joseph soon follow. Yea! Soooo, I will not be on here much. Those boys take over the computers. LOL That is okay, they are getting to the age where toys do not entertain them.

Back home from dropping off Bobby and LeRoy. Feel like I had them too long, since Father's Day, so I'm shedding a lot of tears. The others were not as tearful as Bobby and LeRoy have me. I was content to have done my job fostering, taming them and finding them a great forever home...these two just got to me. Still, I know they have a great home and people who will love them as much as I did. Sorry for blubbering.
OH LORI so sorry you are sad but just think they will have a great home with that family and don't apologize at all please we are here for you

MARGY and LYNN, your posts of this morning were both spot on. Perhaps in my skimming I missed it, but have not seen anything which constitutes the kind of apology needed. One of our dear members has been assaulted and that means we all have been. If we turn the other way when there is a bully in our midst, we are aiding and abetting deplorable behavior. JMHO, but it seems honesty and frankness are called for in this situation.
Meanwhile, it's good to see bright sunlight bathing our nest and Regal Eagle. Nice egg roll and wiggle !
Yep, MARGY, Seth and I will be listening to PHC right along with you. He'll be full of talk tonight about the upcoming Spring play at his H.S.. He has amazed us all by winning the part of Creon, King of Thebes in the Greek tragedy, Antigone. Pretty heavy fare for H.S.. We're sooooo proud of him !

Wonder what Lynne2's SB count is today? Mine is 6, but three were on their backs, so assuming dead! But worse....was out getting some of this delicious sunshine on my face and had two 8-leggeds on the railing. Not good to have to watch out for them already!!

Forgot to tell you that the last time I let Liesl out last night, we heard a terrible raccoon fight on the corn. Blasted sensor light is burned out, and Charlie has wood piled in front so that I can't reach it to change the bulb. :(
