Oh, wow, Dana, I see what you mean about snow in Colorado. Just checked out Fort Collins, where my brother lives. They are expecting a lot of snow there.

Good Morning Shirley (:
Praying that neighbor in back settles down or moves. Now that is an idea..can I pray he/she moves Shirley?

Good Morning Thelma(:

How is the news in Bluefield?

Yes Shirley they are going to get a lot of snow. I told daughter b/c she has to go in. They were short handed yesterday. I told her to get a hotel room for her and boyfriend that works close to Boulder too.

I am praying during this big snow storm out in Colorado. That her computer stays up. Her college classes are on line.

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry I have to say this. It makes me feel so good. That she is in College now. Something she has wanted since she lived in Florida.
I think she moved from Florida maybe 2007 or 2008.

Good here in Bluefield Dana. Rainy, that's all.

Happy Groundhog Day to everyone.

Have heard conflicting reports of shadow or no shadow across the country.

Winter will end/spring will come as it does every year. I think most of us here would prefer the early spring.

Very foggy here today - hate that more than snowfall.

Have a great day, all!

Morning eagle buddies. I missed this morning's visit. Trying to stay in bed as long as possible. I am on the 14 hour fast for routine blood work. Drinking a cup of hot water and telling myself it is weak tea. Off to shower then hospital.
Prayers for our list and all of us.

CarolAnne said...

Grannyblt - hope blood work results are routine as well.

wvgal_dana said...

@Lynne1 Grannyblt Why do you have to go to hospital? Is something wrong with you?

wvgal_dana said...

Ok I see your on a fast for blood work. Good luck with the outcome Lynne1.

Good morning everyone.

Soon to depart for a day at the big school house. Raining here but supposed to clear up.

Decided to make a name for such mild weather: spwinter.

Wishing all a good day.

Good morning everybody.

Joe update:
Just spoke with Donna. She said Joe was pretty confused yesterday. They would tell him stuff and he would understand but then in a little bit he wouldn't remember. His BP is up so they have him on 2 meds and has a little fluid so they are giving him Lasix for that, all to be expected. His heart, however, has been beating on its own with no external pacing and that is unusual. They connect a pacer to it during the transplant surgery and it hasn't been needed. God is good all the time!

Good Groundhog Day morning. Missed news to hear if he did or didn't!!
Slept until almost 9!! Power went out but apparently for just a few minutes....O2 alarm didn't wake me til it cam back on, and VCR clock still set, so know it was less than 30 mins. DUH---forgot to re-det oven clock (the OLD-FASHIONED kind) yesterday, so can't judge for sure how long.
Cloudy, getting brighter, no rain.

Hurray for a local Olive Garden---main headline in paper. I like them fine, but hate the long waits.
DanaWV...you don't HAVE to eat salad. Every restaurant serves it. Don't understand...????

Sounds like everyone is doing well.....Lynne1 WILL be after her blood test and can eat!!

Lolly, hope opthamologist gets you on the schedule quickly!

Margy---tell those people not to eat the pies until things look imminent!!

Dear Momsters and Dadsters,

Steve has notified us that, due to budgetary constraints, NCTC has cancelled the Open House this year.......again.
We will still be allowed access to the grounds, and can watch the nest from our normal vantage point with the Eagle Express. Unfortunately, the cafeteria and gift shop will not be open. We can pot-luck lunch in the EE, while we visit and watch. For out-of-towners, any little snackie-things you want to provide will be fine, and those of us locals will provide hot foods and perishables. We will see if there are any other Earth Day activities happening in Shepherdstown that may be of interest.

Our Friday Apr. 20th night gathering for those in early enough will be at The Rumsey Tavern in the Clarion at 7pm. We will have our usual Sat. Apr. 21st evening (starting between 4-5) in the private dining room at The Clarion. We will be getting the menu options for Sat. soon for you to peruse and see if you can decide what you want, but we don't have to know what your selections are!!! They just limit the menu size to make it more manageable for the chefs to serve us in a timely fashion. We WILL need a headcount, though, of who and how many in your party will be attending both meals. So as soon as you know, please email me that info.

While it's a shame that those coming for the first time will miss out on the NCTC activities many of us have enjoyed, the gathering of friends is the most important part. I can guarantee that you will have a great time. Be prepared to laugh and cry, to hug, and talk yourselves hoarse!!!!!

Remember that many of us contribute items for raffles during the evening. Monies collected are then donated to various causes. We have given to Friends of NCTC, WCV (Buddy's fund), Days End Farm Horse Rescue in MD following the tragic horse neglect and abuse case here (they took in the 8 most critically ill horses and saved all but one), and another one or two that I don't remember.

Hoping this glitch does not deter anyone from coming. WE are the MOMSTERS/DADSTERS, and we gather to honor not only our eagles, but our friendships!!
Love, Lynn

Sending this in all forms of email, as well, so hope I don't miss anyone.

hedgie said...

Sharon, prayers continue for Joe. I'm sure these little glitches are expected and that they are on top of it. I bet he's just getting antsy to get on with life!!!!

Judie, hope your school day is enjoyable....and that the wannabe's give you some good laughs!

DanaMo....bet you aren't getting a lot of teaching time in during this busy week!!!

NEW THREAD!!!

Good morning! I must say I do like the new way to get to the blog. Too funny that Hoda was doing this all along and we did not know it.

Going to do a quick read of the paper now. Have about 35 minutes before I leave for the doctor.
