For those of you who like to watch disorienting videos, watch the cam today. It is a rainy, windy day at the nest and both cam and nest are moving in the wind and raindrops enhance the experience. Have fun!

I am giving up! Shutting cam down. Too frustrating.

Oh-oh.....goats loose along the highway nearby.....right around a blind curve, too....hope no one gets hurt. No luck reaching owner, they say. Randy---save your goats!!! He's the realtor who sold me my house (along with his Dad!!).

Good Morning Shirley (:

Lynn don't let the live cam make you turn off the computer. It has stopped several time for me. I hit the refresh and that has been working. Now cam is going very well. Lynn I hope you are feeling better. Are you?

So Cal weather is going into a Santa Ana condition with the desert winds and the whole nine yards...not my favorite weather event.

The left eye is recovering and clearing vision faster than the first one, but it's not as clear and quick to focus yet...but the right eye (and the auto-adjusting part of the brain) have had nearly 5 weeks now.

Everything is so "bright" and "colorful" and "clear" now in comparison to the well-matured double cataracts, that it's just like being cured of blindness.

I'm going out on the balcony and shout "I'm Cured!!" until the neighbors start throwing things at me.

Good Morning Friends
Thanks Steve for the fresh thread and I
hope your day goes well with the weekend coming up!
Thank You Margy for the call over!

Jim! So very happy for you being cured.
Do you think the neighbors would throw
money?

Geula - it is always a treat to have you come onto the blog. Think of you often and miss you!

This is a full house this morning.

Did I miss any message from Sweetpea
Has anyone said when Wanda would be going home from the hospital?

stronghunter said...

Yay, Jim!!

Shout on. I will be listening for you.

CarolAnne said...

Morning all,
Mema Jo - I am here, sort of.

Seem to have picked up a bit of a bug a few days ago. Not really sick. Innards just not feeling up to par. Have been doing quick scan of blog to check for prayer needs. Happy, Happy for Wanda & Jim and the outstanding results and for Lynn and her progress.

Been working on a set of notecards as a gift and in my "not quite right" state I blundered big time and had to start over. Each card needed to be trimmed just a tiny bit (1/8" or so). So I put the stack thru the paper cutter only to discover I trimmed off the fold, not the open end, so had to start over. Arrggghhhh!

CarolAnne said...

Finished a Kindle self published book the other day. Would give the story only 2 stars, but it did have an interesting theory about praying for ones own needs. Instead of Praying, "Lord, let me have a good day" one should say "Lord, today I'd like to have a good day, so I shall CHOOSE to have a good day, and thank you Lord for helping me to make my choice real". It was all about defining what you want, choosing to have that result, and thanking God before it even happened.

Thought that was an interesting view.

hedgie said...

I didn't shut down the puter, Dana. Just the cam. All the refreshing I did was pointless. It wouldn't run for more than 5 mins. if it even opened.....and then wouldn't refresh anyway. Waste of time.

I am feeling SO much better, thanks!!!

Checking in from school. Just finished my fascinating meeting on the district's new social media policy for employees. A 40-minute drive and two hours of sitting to tell me not to be friends with students on FB! DUH, thanks Indian River Dept. of Instruction, I NEVER would have been able to figure that out on my own!! Now it's off to ANOTHER positively stimulating meeting on Common Core Alignment - don't even ask what it is, you'd fall asleep before I could finish explaining! Poppin' open a Pepsi for some caffeine! Later eagle peeps! BTW, it is POURING here!

Lolly said...

Good morning! So frustrating not to be able to get the live feed up. Nooooooooooooo! This is NOT the time of year to be having cam problems. I have tried over and over. Will do it again after a while.

Lynn, so glad you are better today. STAY that way, please!☺ Sorry about the garage opener. They probably will just have to replace the unit.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Hopefully the cam will be running again soon!

Has anyone said when Wanda would be going home from the hospital?

Lolly said...

Oh, Sandi...so sorry about the boring inservice!!! Groan...been there done that! Usually such a big waste when profitable time could be spent in the classroom.

It is 51, sunshiney and heading up today. Then another front (without rain) comes through tonight.

Jim...shout from the mountain top!! Yea! Have my first appointment this next week to schedule my second cataract removal. Just hoping this time is more smooth. Developed an infection with the first one. It took me several months before I could tell that I could see better.

Judie said...

Thank you, Steve. Have a nice weekend.

Thank you Margy. Hope the day is going well for you.

Lynn, glad you put something in your stomach. Now lets hope it stays there.

Glad no goats or drivers have been injured.

Can't get the live cam. Circle only. Will check on Phoebe instead. No picture last time I checked a couple of weeks ago.

Bears all doing well. Jordan babes enjoying some fresh air for a few minutes.

Shout as loud and as long as you can, Jim. Congratulations!

The camera problems seem to have been server problems at NCTC. The following is below the cam from OC:
We apologize for the inconvenience. The EagleCam is presently offline due to the internet service provider outage at the camera connection. We do not have an ETA on a resolution. We'll leave the video player running, so when the issue is resolved, you should start to see the EagleCam live feed once again. Thank you for your patience.

Afternoon, all!

I finally figured out what Hoda was talking about, with the blog looking different and things in red. If you click on the actual word "Friday" on this blog, it gives you the tan colored blog backround, peoples' names and times in red, links in red, but posts and bold still in black. It has the older and newer links to be able to go to the second page of the blog.

Weird part is that when you click at the bottom to post a comment, it brings you back to the blog to post your comment and the background is white, with blue names for posters as we are used to...

Kay said...

Good Afternoon y'all ! Thanks for this mornings nestcapdes and "almost HP" report. I'm having an awful time getting up early these days. I may lie awake at times, but if I'm finally in a comfortable position I don't want to move til' I have to. By this time next week I hope to have had another injection and to be feeling much better. PT today at 4:30 and I'm not looking forward to it one bit !!!!

Yikes, SHARON, you do need some sunshine ! I buy so many things that have Vit D added and also take extra along with my Oscal D. Trying to keep osteopena from becoming osterporosis !

Hi, Everyone,

So relieved to see that Lynn is feeling chipper this morning! That's good news! Sorry the garage door opener has gone south for the winter. Oh, that Liesl! I had to stop giving Emma stuffed chewy toys--she rips them open in a matter of minutes! She's still good with Lori's tugs, but we need to watch her closely. Nylabones and tennis balls are safest for her!

Guess there have been cam issues this morning--I've been doing computer updates, so haven't had it open yet. Gotta do some bill paying online now, and hit the road running to do grossery shopping. Wanted to drop in and say "Howdy" first, though.

Emma says "Woof, woof!" to everyone here. Oh--Lolly, loved the pictures of the kittens! Beautiful! They look like our GGD Sierra's kitty, Latte.

Judie, glad to hear that the parlor panthers seem to have declared a truce. Nice to hear that Darth is well, too.

Happy to hear that Granny Riffe is doing OK! God bless her!

Well, gotta run. Will check back in later! Have a good Red Friday, everyone! :o]

Lolly said...

Karla, thanks for the update. It will certainly be a thrill for Wanda if she can see Jayden from the window. When is she released from the hospital?

I'm back! So glad to be in from the vicious wind!

Thanks, Karla, for update.....but how is she feeling??? And has she been up and about today??? We need details!!!!
I suspect that she may have a little company soon......I won't say who so she'll be surprised if she is reading this!!!!

Going to the sofa for a little rest. I am planning on biscuits with sausage gravy for dinner!!

Sandi said...

Afternoon all! I read earlier that the live cam was working again. First time I tried, I got the not available message. Second time it took forever to load, stayed on for 4 seconds, and then froze. GRRR!! Rain has stopped here, sun is out, but the winds are supposed to gust to 40-50 mph this evening! No messages on my school voice mail from angry parents saying that I'm displaying inappropriate content in my classroom, so I guess I'm safe! Fat juncos on my thistle feeder, which reminds me that I need to put more sunflower seeds out! BBL.

Got my binocs and just stood there wishing you could see what I was seeing, a gorgeous bird!

Also...hope springs eternal...just want you to know spring is coming!! I just spotted my first daffodil bud. Won't be long!

getting excited. my oldest is moving to nashville this coming thursday. they will be over tomorrow for dinner. they went to the circus last night, and believe it or not, they had protestors in their face!!!! a woman holding up an elephant hanging in effigy was in my daughter and grandddaughter's faces screaming at them for going to the circus! i thought protestors had to remain a certain amount of distance from people trying to attend events???? i don't know too much about things like this.....unbelievable! my daughter was not going to be backed down and let the woman know that while you are entitled to your view, get away from me and my child.... yikes!

feels almost like you can't do anything anymore with out offending someone! one of my clients and i were discussing political correctness today......wow.

anyway, been a great day. looking forward to a great weekend...its TGIF , we are off and running! :)

Glad Caroly and Margy visited with Wanda. I know she is already do so well. I bet though that perked Wanda up.

RED, I have never tasted turnip greens. I was raised in a home where we were required to eat everything on our plate at every meal (trust me, the only thing worse than hot lima beans or hot brussel sprouts are cold lima beans or cold brussel sprouts!!) My dad loved turnips, so my mom would cook and mash them and then try to convince me they were mashed potatoes! Mashed potatoes my rear end!! YUK! So the fact that turnip greens were once attached to turnips, which I hate, would prevent me from EVER tasting them! Truth be told, I have never eaten biscuits with sausage gravy either, but it sounds delish! I might even have to try finding a place in southern DE that serves biscuits with sausage gravy!! What can I say, I'm a Yankee!

LOL---fox her hair instead of fix....guess tiger her hair would have been more appropriate...but she loves foxes, too!!!

Yeah, Karla---great news!!!! Everything is better at home!!!

Ok everyone......she is looking at you. Dana she got her hug :-)

YEAY LYNN!!! You are one heck of a wonderful person for getting back your energy and for paging your self with what you eat...The meal sounds delicious...after all this is over you and RED should go out to breakfast for your favourite meal...LOL

MARGY and CAROLYN YEAY you both visited WANDA and have good reports on her...LYNN so glad you told us...I was wondering who the mystery guest was...and it turns out to be two guests...I am sure WANDA was delighted to see them.

hedgie said...

Sandi, I'm sure you can find them at any restaurants----Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, local diners!
And I'm with you on all the rest!!!!
We had the same doctrine until the time I threw up all over the table over one of those yuckies that I was being forced to eat! Then it became that we had to take at least one bite of anything new.

I skimmed over Red's recipe---not the least inclined to read it. UGH!

Hoda said...

LYNN I have a question for you, actually two questions...
My iron is within normal range but low normal...how do I improve my iron without running into the constipation problem?
Also my HDl cholestorol, my good cholestoral that is is also within normal but also low normal...how do I imporve that too? Have you got any ideas?

hedgie said...

Wish DanaMo would chime in and let us know how she's feeling. Way to go on the BS and A1C, kiddo!! But gotta figure out this ear-ringing......:(

Hoda said...

pacing your self LYNN NOT paging yourself!!!LOL!!!My last post...

hedgie said...

Hoda, eat more greens and organ meats (if you can) for the iron.
To increase the HDL, more exercise!!

hedgie said...

Heading for the sofa for digestion! A little Liesl love, too!!!

Red said...

I haven't tried the turnip greens soup recipe yet myself but will soon. I'll try anything once.

Yes, good sausage gravy and biscuits at Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans. But the place I go to for breakfast has the best other than my own.

My sister in law had her knee replaced on Tuesday and she went home today. Sounds like 3 days in the hospital is enough. Good luck with the rehab Wanda and a speedy recovery.

Polar bear plunge is tomorrow down at
Sandy Point. I'll be cheering Maggie's
Mounties on!

Mema Jo said...

Great news that you may be homeward bound tomorrow Wanda! You must be doing
great with that New Knee!

wvgal_dana said...

That is the normal stay Mema Jo for a total knee replacement. Go in 1 day and stay 2 equals 3 day stay.

Hoda said...

OH dear LYNN I will have to find a different way to increase my iron...my stomach spasmed on the thought of organ meats...OH MY!!!Thanks for telling me this news though...I am sure I will find a way to make it all work...how I do not know yet...

LOL Hedgie, there was a similar experience at out house concerning squash and my daughter, with her daddy insisting she eat it. I was away from the house at the time and he had to clean up the mess. Knowing him, he got sick too. After that there was a similar policy about just "tasting".
i lived in the south for 40 years and came to like turnip greens, even collard greens, but the soup sounds a little much, unless the greens are really mild.

grannyblt said...

Wanda, so glad to hear you'll be dancing soon !!

I read that today is Tom Selleck's birthday. He is 67--one good looking hunk for sure. Is Blue Bloods a new episode tonight?

Mema Jo said...

Blue Bloods is a repeat tonight

Hubby rented a movie for us to watch
tonight.........

Hoda, my Mom who is in a nursing home, has a low blood count and they are giving her supplements. I guess that is what you want to avoid. My late MIL had to have a Procrit treatment every other week for years to keep her count up.

grannyblt said...

I think I have watched maybe 5 episodes of Blue Bloods, and each of them at least 3 times. I always seem to catch a rerun..

wvgal_dana said...

Hoda visit your nice health food store and talk with them. I feel sure they will come up with something you will like to take.
