Hey all. Its Tuesday afternoon and I only have a few min before I pick up my young 'en. No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Life happened. lol.

Had a fantastic birthday weekend. Pix posted on facebook...if anyone wants to see just friend me.

Sunday my oldest and her crew went home. Tom and I had decided to update our phones, so we went on down to best buy....had an idea as to what we wanted, etc. He had been researching for 2+ months....and 90 min later we walked out with phones WWWWAAAAAYYYY smarter than we are. nothing like a smart phone to make you feel really DUMB....

Then of course Sunday is league bowling in the evening, so early dinner....

Yesterday was work and even though I got off early, I had promised to take my elderly neighbor to get a tracfone. DIdn't know that would encompass 3+ hours.....so I got to bed late...

But such is life. So I am back. Have to go get LIvvy, but will pop back in in an hour or so.

*SMILES* to all! :D

paula eagleholic said...

Hi Judie, bye Judie.

Judie, that young gal sounds like the kind that my son Michael is supervising...hopefully with time and counseling she can be helped.

paula eagleholic said...

Our nest looked really fluffy this morning, but in the afternoon light, you can tell it needs a lot more fluff!

Thank you Steve for the new thread.

Thank you very much for the call over.

Janet Happy Belated Birthday
Sounds like you have had a very busy time.

Judie I added you lady friend and the 2 children to the prayer list. That is so very sad :(

Thank you for the new thread, STEVE ! And, thank you for the call over, LINDA !

Expecting a neighbor any moment, but glad I peeked in so that I'm able to join all in prayers for dear Tori and family ! Thanks, JO and LINDA !

Mema Jo said...

I had a bronchoscopy before when they were trying to get a biopsy of my lung.
Through the nose - I'm not certain what the purpose is for Tori to have one. Will keep my eyes on FB...
Robyn's parent are due to land around
6:00.

Linda said...

Lynn - This is what Robyn said about the "regular vent" on Sunday when I asked a question. You may better understand the oscillator vs ventilator than I.

Robyn Ann Schonhans Jo, Tori has been inactive from list, she is still in system but when she is off vent they will reactive her and she will be top of list

Linda Cochran Salsberry Robyn - I'm praying like crazy for Tori. Can't get her off my mind. What are their thoughts on timing of getting Tori off the vent? Have they started to back the machine down at all yet to let her do some of the work on her own? I know it is a delicate process. Hang in there. So happy to hear she will be surrounded by family today and in the coming days. Hang in there..... ♥
Sunday at 3:09pm · Like

Robyn Ann Schonhans Linda, tori is on an isolator they are weening her to get her in a conventional vent then when they can extubate her .
Sunday at 3:42pm · Like

I looked up a ventilator vs an oscillator and found this:

While a traditional ventilator physically inflates and deflates the patient’s lungs, the oscillator actually keeps lungs permanently open with a positive end-expiratory pressure, and by vibrating the air at a high rate, helping to diffuse gases.

I think this is what Robyn is talking about. I thought that made sense, since Tori's co2 levels were the problem before she was intubated and based on her particular situation. At least that is what I think. Like I said, you probably understand this better than I do.

Linda said...

Yes, Jo!! I just can't get that poor child and her amazing Mom off my mind!

I do have to go get ready for our Bible Study Group tonight, and will ask for special prayers for Tori.

Keep watch as I know you're on it, Jo, Lynn, Wanda and so many others. Momster prayers are powerful and she has so many praying for her.

I will check in if I can just before we begin, or later if I can't get back. xoxo

Please God, take good care of dear Tori.....

Linda said...

In my earlier post, I think Robyn meant to say oscillator because the day or so before she used that specific word and not isolator.

Either way, prayers continue.....

paula eagleholic said...

Both eagles at BWE

paula eagleholic said...

Linda, the oscillator vs vent sounds like the right explanation...also, her lung was collapsed, maybe the reason for the oscillator as well.

Maybe they want to check the status of the hole in the lung.

paula eagleholic said...

Linda, not sure if Robyn knew the proper spelling...

Linda said...

That is what I figured, Paula. Thanks ♥

Lolly said...

Thanks, Paula, for the Jordan link. Lost it somehow! She just rolled the eggs. Did not see anything. Was watching the Decorah eagles. Both were in view and they zoomed in on the talons. Wow, do not want to mess with those.

Sandi said...

Hi all! No eagle visits today? Surprising! I'm finally caught up on the blog:
Lynn, sorry to hear about your house being torn down. When my mom sold the house we grew up in, I would drive by occasionally but, as it got more and more run down, it made me too sad so I stopped.
Judy, no conversations about changing your job description at work? Maybe no news is good news?
DMo, I feel your pain about that 4-hour strategy meeting! YUK!
Wanda, what a royal screw up at the doctor's yesterday! Hope you get/got some answers today.
Thanks to all for the frequent updates on Tori. She sounds like a real fighter!
Lolly, I don't want the recipe for that cheesecake - I want the cheesecake! Glad it was as good as you hoped! =)
Wonder if Belle and Shep will put in an evening appearance?

paula eagleholic said...

Eagles really in and out at BWE

Lolly said...

LOL Sandi, sorry, cheese cake is almost gone. Did have a nephew ask for the recipe. LOL

Lolly said...

Is it time to call the eagles?

Hear eagle, eagle, eagle!!!

wvgal_dana said...

Lolly did you leave a chuck of the Cheesecake at Laurels?

Lolly said...

Yes, Dana I did. I brought home only enough for Jack and I to have one more slice each. Laurel did not need it either, but she and boys could have another slice.

Lolly said...

Joey is dieting again, He did not eat any last night, no pizza either. Proud of him!

I am back and I am all caught up...
No visits from Belle and Shep today...they were in plenty yesterday though so we will wait on them.

Prayers for TORI.

JUDYE play the game smartly in regardds head office coming in...be clear as to what you would want to say before you say it and be aware that they will leave but you will be left to deal with the present management and they can make your life difficult. head offices do not usually have much interest in the average local worker...et them do their own dirty work...if and when asked state your truth but don't go out of your way thinking they care...they do not...be smart gal...know their game.

A beautiful day here today and it wasa bit cold in the morning with ice ont he roads...the road crew was out before me so it was all good...the afternoon brought sun and blue sky and Nelson looks its best with fresh snow on the mountains and the clear skies with the sun...it is a little heaven really...I enjoyed walking around to get all the things done that I needed to get done...the meeting went well and yoga was a gentle class so it all worked out.

I am short on my intake of tea though...only one cup so far today...I do have to get some tea...LORI you were right I slept soundly through the night and did not wake up wanting tea...

Linda said...

Hoda - your description of the snow and the sun and the mountains sounds so beautiful. I just love the snow and the mountains.......and of course the snow, too. Not seeing too much of that here so far this winter.

Linda, perfect explanation of the oscillator vs. traditional vent. I did not know that Tori was on it.
Good question as to why the bronchoscopy. A simple x-ray is all that is needed to show whether the pneumothorax is closing or not...and Robyn already said that it was, so.....MTBR.
Mega-prayers continue from here.

Had a little nap....should be good to go. Now for some chow!

JudyE----Hoda is right. Be very careful what you say and to whom. HO only cares about business, not the employees.

No moonlight here....yet? or at all tonight? Can't believe our birds have stood us up all day. Tsk, tsk.

hedgie said...

IF you have any spare room on your prayer beads or wheels or time on your knees, please say a little prayer for my granddog Harley. He is an elder, but is displaying some serious neurological symptoms over the last couple of days.....hoping that Shannon takes him to the vet tomorrow. He's stumbled several times, seems to zone out when standing--as if he doesn't know what he was going to do--couldn't/wouldn't go down the steps in the dark as usual....very worrisome. Thank you.

Hmmmmmm.......from NBG:
On Friday morning, January 6, 2012 a female eagle was found dead in the Garden by a visitor. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries was contacted and they retrieved the eagle for further examination. Currently, there is no apparent cause of death. Specialists have closely monitored the nest since Friday morning to determine if the dead eagle was the female of the current nesting pair... at NBG. An eagle pair was observed at the nest early Friday morning, January 6th and also just after sunset Sunday evening, January 8th. Mating behavior was observed Monday morning, January 9th. Biologists continue to closely monitor the situation. Norfolk Botanical Garden will provide information as it becomes available.

Mema Jo said...

Oh My! Lynn, it will be interesting to know the eagle's cause of death. Really
hoping it isn't the resident female - I
am sure there are other nest in the gardens. I feel certain that we will be told once they determine cause of
death.

HI RED man of few words LOL I love it knowing a man is watching us LOL Good luck with the hip replacements!

Glass door knob we had several in the house when I was little but dad did replace I always loved them so On extreme make over they take pieces of some of the house that they tear down and use it either in house of piece of furniture If they tear my parents house down the red brick would be cool my sister Connie could build a fireplace up there Just thinking out loud LOL

hi all.....i missed being on here...(and i've not been with you all very long) found myself thinking about you as i ran my neighbor here and there looking for this trakphone. trakfone. whatever that thing is!!!!! she is 72 and just wanted a phone to talk on for emergency use....and walmart was the only one with a flip phone..but we hit 4 diff stores to find that out, lol.

either way, she thanked me for my help, whihc was really no problem. but i did tell her, and i guess the tears will always come, you know i don't have my parents any more...to help them, not that they would really ACCEPT my help....independent people they were....but that i can help someone else's mom makes me feel good.

she's been alone since her husband died @ 42. her son lives in town, but has a family of his own. tom and i are across the street, so we help when and where we can.

judy, yes, i think connie will have a tough time selling the property.....but i don't think it will pass inspection.....those floors need to be replaced, remember the one that broke when you and i were standing on it???? :O i know her handyman has fixed some...but over all, after dad went downhill, things jus tdidn't get done. either way, i'll be glad when that chapter is closed......sad, but glad too.

anyway, hope things at work go well for you.....careful careful on your wording....

as for me, a bit of quiet time, still trying to figure out the phone and get ready for tomorrow. 3 private clients, then pick liv up @ 2:30 from school (they are out early on wed)...

yeeeeeeeee hawwwww

btw, the eagles don't seem to sleep in the nest. where do they go to?

Sharon, at least you've got a diagnosis - half the battle. I hope you and Thelma are home now and resting comfortably. Are they going to zap the stones or remove them somehow?

DanaMo said...

Good morning Lori. The meeting ended up not being so bad. It got over around 9 instead of 10. The "facilitator" is a Marianist Brother who got his undergraduate degree from Dayton (Yahoo). He was very entertaining. The meeting was different than I expected.

Boomer is looking pretty sheepish but I can't find anything he appears to have gotten into. I could hear Javalin in my bathtub, so I went up to check but nothing is out of place. Hmmm....glad he has decided to stay with me in the kitchen now.

Morning Lori! All alone this AM?

Sharon-good to have answers and gallstones (painful though they may be) are treatable.

Not sure I understand all the news about Tori, but I get the impression that what they are doing is helping and is good news for her to be able to get the transplant. A step in the right direction towards her getting well??
Red is having surgery too? Not sure if I caught the date on that. I will try to read back.

Missing prayers for someone I'm sure. Oh, granddog of Lynn, praying that he is okay and the vet can determine what is wrong. It's just so wrong that we outlive our dogs, cats, pets. I see signs of Frisbee showing his age and it just distresses me.

The kids look forward to it as a big party, which it basically is for us. Wondering if we will get any snow days this year. Certainly not looking good so far.

Dog Swallows Spoon

Oh my, poor doggie. But it turns out okay.

JudyEddy said...

I am going nuts this am I had the copy of the disability papers folded in forth and keep in my back pocket I misplaced them so I guess I will have to make another copy that means taking the original back to work my printer ink is out I just had it last nite duh I should have put it in the pants pockets right away but didn't I did put in my puter last nite and also on blog if anyone wants to read them I put the link on at 1115 last nite when I couldn't sleep

JudyEddy said...

make you wonder how he got the spoon down his throat HUH

stronghunter said...

I am very concerned about a poor little doggie in my neighborhood. It seems to spend its days chained in the front yard. It has not always had any shelter, but I noticed a vehicle from the county there one day and then the dog house re-appeared. (It was in the front yard, then the back yard, now back in the front yard.) Why get a dog if this is what you are going to do with it?

stronghunter said...

Oh, Judy, I hope you find the papers and get the issues straightened out.

JudyEddy said...

Well good news I went to the file where I put my papers and last nite when I scanned in my puter I must of thought it was the original and put back in the file well there were two in there the original and the copy that I used last nite to scan in puter so I have the copy tucked in my pants pocket again just in case they didn't read it But I have a feeling they have read it and trying to figure out where to put me with my limitations

JudyEddy said...

I wonder if they are at least in the tree at nite or in the am I wish I could drive over LOL and check it out to see if they are there

JudyEddy said...

HERE EAGLE HERE EAGLE PLEASE VISIT US

I am going to try to go for some bowling practice today. I finally improved my score the past couple of days, so maybe it is a good time to practice.

JudyEddy said...

Practice is good SHIRLEY how far from you is the lanes??

JudyEddy said...

Did you notice that the nest still looks like the day lite is not on it no COLORS

JudyEddy said...

wow they found the man that killed the couple the other nite in the million dollar mansion Fast work

stronghunter said...

I think my team will get to remain in next to last place. (Rather than falling back to last place!) We came within one pin of beating a team much higher up--second or fourth place. We are on the move! Maybe next week we cam move up. Keep your fingers crossed.

I am learning a little bit about scoring.

stronghunter said...

I did notice that the nest still looks like the light is on it. It's definitely light here now.

JudyEddy said...

Is there anything going on at the nest that could be keeping them away I wonder??????

JudyEddy said...

stronghunter said...

JudyEddy said...

I'm back when I cam back I sort of forgot about the Jordan cam being up because I usually don't have it up and I almost thought our eagles were here until I saw how big the nest is compared to ours LOL its a duh moment again LOL

JudyEddy said...

Did I tell you my daughter has been feeding a squirrel at work well the other day she didn't feed him and all of a sudden she heard this noise out side he was out there where she usually put the stuff and was just screaming what ever you call it Demanding food I guess LOL She said she has never heard anything like that before and he was loud big time

Lori O. said...

Oh, Shirley, that breaks my heart about the dog in your neighborhood. Glad the county or someone is checking up on them. What kind of dog is it?

Morning all,(those who have started their day & those yet to arrive here)

Continuing prayers for those in need . . . as the list grows w/people and pets.

SANDI - spoke too soon about dogs & food, I guess. After a week of no problems adjusting to it, one dog is now having problems digesting it and keeping it down. No change in activity or attitude - always eager to eat or play. But 6 to 9 hours later it returns pretty much undigested.

SNOW - it is coming (finally) and big time. Forecast is for 7 to 9", starting late tonight and ending sometime Friday. No road trips for us this weekend.

Another 50° day here today before temps start to fall & storm moves in. Will enjoy some more outdoor time today. Take care all!

hedgie said...

Morning all.
Can't believe that our nest remains visitless.

Oh, poor T-bird......sure hope you are feeling better this mornning. Trusting that you will follow up with a surgeon sooner rather than later....better not to put it off until it becomes an emergency (like a stone blocking the duct). Please???

Poor doggie, C/A----maybe the food is a little too rich?
I know you will enjoy your snow....so please keep it there!!

Shirley, glad bowling went so well yesterday. Don't blame you for wanting to capitalize on that by going back today!!

JudyE---JMHO---it might be best to NOT have your private papers showing on the blog.

hedgie said...

Egg roll at Jordan Lake, but no view allowed!!

hedgie said...

Very nice blog you set up, Janet. Enjoyed your pics and intros!

stronghunter said...

Just might doze off for a bit before heading out. I hope the weather doesn't get too bad. Rain with maybe a little snow, sleet predicted.

Lori O. said...

Go Cyclone!!!! Throw a strike for me. :)

Good to see all those that have checked in this morning.

Prayers are needed for Shannon and Christie's dog Harley. See Shannon is taking him to Vet today.

JudyE when you check back in. Are you going to start taking Yoga classes from the 91 yr old miracle lady?

Shirley happy your bowling game in improving.

DanaMo a "tablespoon" in that labs stomach. WOW. I don't think I would want to wear it as a pendant. Though I would keep it. Glad the dogs surgery and removal was a success. Sounds like it might have been in there awhile.

CarolAnne I hope you dog that is not digesting the new food. Starts to feel better. Put on my prayer list.

JudyE sounds like those floors in the house need to be replaced or can you sell house "As Is". ometimes I see that in a sells agreement.

Prayers to THELMA!!!!! Oh Thelma I am so happy you are back in Bluefield as you are too. Praying that stone passes or they break it up. Yes pay attention to what Lynn said. Praying and feel badly for you. Must be painful. ^j^ ((Hugs)))

wvgal_dana said...

2nd eagle just flew in at Lake Jordan. I guess it wants to do a shift change. Eagle laying on eggs does not want to get up yet.

wvgal_dana said...

Shift change the one egg does on the end look a little funny.
Did not see a pip in either egg though at Lake Jordan.

hedgie said...

Two HUGE Black Labs running through my woods......collars....but I've never seen them before. Sure hope they find their way home.
DanaMo---all three accounted for at your house, LOL????

wvgal_dana said...

paula eagleholic said...

Hi Tbird, hope you are feeling a little better this morning!

And DanaWV, have you gotten rid of your bug yet?

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley, have fun bowling. Love it when we were in last place and beat a higher up team...even almost does a body good :)

hedgie said...

Add Diann's son PAtrick to the prayers, folks. He's in the hospital with chest pain.

wvgal_dana said...

Oh no Lynn adding Patrick to prayer list and Diann.

wvgal_dana said...

Thank you for asking. I am feeling somewhat better. Stomach is still not up to par yet. I guess a slow process.

wvgal_dana said...

I do know one thing. I COULD NOT!! do those Yoga moves. It would tear my cervical and back up.

I continue with my moderate ones I did in pool...but being out of pool
on a slightly lighter bases.

T-Bird said...

Thanks for all your prayers and love. Thanks for your advice too. We sure do learn from each other. ((hugs))

T-Bird said...

Hello Paula. I hope you are good this morning.

End of one egg at Jordan Lake does look strange.......

hedgie said...

But she didn't let it show when she rolled them....

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning! On my out the door to work today, but wanted to wish you all a wonderful day!

Happy to hear the IVIg is doing good for Tori so far. Maybe it will give her the boost she needs right now. If she can get rid of that fever for good, it will make a huge difference. Hope Robyn got some rest last night. Prayers continue.....

Oh, Thelma...... So sorry to hear mod your ER visit. Gallbladder problems plagued me a little over a year ago and I had to have it taken out. Didn't realize it was the source of so much of my abdominal discomfort. Praying you are feeling better.

CarolAnne - hope the pup feels better soon. Here you thought he was doing better and now this..... One never knows. Hope it resolves itself pronto! Enjoy that snow heading your way! I would love it. I know you do, too!!

I'd better head out.......

TTFN xoxo

hedgie said...

Thelma, how are you feeling this morning?? SORE? GB attack almost always leave a soreness through the abdominal area---even to touch.

T-Bird said...

I am sore Lynn. Nothing to cry about though, that is for sure.

wvgal_dana said...

Oh that was so funny. I was trying to get a picture of it but miss it. At Lake Jordan remember I said the one eagle was standing at the tail feathers of the eagle laying on the eggs. The one laying on the eggs would not get up..The other eagle leaves. Just came back with a stick and actually laid the stick across the eagles back that was laying on the eggs. As that eagle was getting up the other eagle removed the stick and layed it down. Went right to the eggs and wiggled down LOL

T-Bird said...

I hope you all have a good morning. I will catch you all on the flip side.

hedgie said...

Thelma, just take it easy! The soreness will pass in a day or so.
I used to have so much trouble with my GB....but there were NO stones. Since I wasn't vomiting, they wouldn't even consider taking it out. Just called it an intermittant inflammation. Thankfully, it did seem to eventually resolve and I haven't had any trouble in about 8 yrs.

hedgie said...

I remember when our eagles did the stick on the back trick once, too!

Red said...

Morning folks. Nasty weather here today. had to put Scooters "Thunder shirt" on. Scooter(our Yorkie mix)is terrified of thunder. The Thunder Shirt is a snug wrap that goes around his chest and believe it or not it keeps him from being so nervous. Dosen't work for all dogs however. Our other Yorkie "Rosie" couldn't care less about thunder. Dosen't bother her at all.

DanaMo, I don't have a surgery date yet. Just going to a new othorpedic Tuesday for a second opinion, but I think surgery will be soon.

Shirley, I'm glad your bowling is improving. Wish I had a video of your approach form. Might could give you some pointers for improving more. I was a bowling instructor many years ago for a local bowling alley. I was also a good golfer and considered going pro in bowling or golf but procrastinated too long and never did either.
Prayers for Robyn and Tori.

wvgal_dana said...

Lynn I was thinking our Lib and Belle did that lol When I seen it happen at Lake Jordan. Thanks for remembering.

Be glad you did "not" have you gallbladder taken out. Most people have problems eating roughage and vegetables after removal.

Good morning! We have sunshine today, 47 and headed to the 60's. Tonight a front comes in and down we go to the 20's and a high tomorrow in the 40's. But...today is going to be very pleasant!

Wow, I slept good last night. Usually towards morning I wake up several times. I woke once during the night but did not wake up again until 7:30!!!! Wow!

Do not have an agenda today. Might do some de-cluttering. Have a few drawers that are demanding attention. Then again, I might go outside. Hmmmmm????
