Good Morning!

Checking in before church and got this notification that I am not sure if you have posted yet from Robyn:

ong weekend...

pray for a set of lungs for Tori.

Tori is now at Univ of Maryland or UMMC in Baltimore, yesterday she had many visitors and I know she heard each and every one of them, I hope she remembered the visitors but not what she has been going thru.

Damien her dad was talking to Dr. Garcia last night after dinner and told Dame she is doing good and she was number 1 on the transplant list for lungs and the UNOS region consists of 5 states, Dr. Garcia also told Dame to go back to the Ronald McDonald house to get some sleep since they were finally turning the lights off at night to get Tori accustomed to sleeping at night and aware during the day.

I met with Dr. Iacono, the medical director of the lung transplant program and feel confident he can take excellent care of Tori. Tori was given a zero percent at Hopkins as per the Dr. Kanan (sp) and a slim to zero at UMMC in her current condition, Dr. Iacono gives Tori a 50% and mentioned he can see her walking out of the hospital, come on lungs lets get here...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYG_bcukQ-I One of the 3 doctors involved, there is also Dr. Garcia and Dr. Griffith who worked with Dr. Jarvik. Tori is definitely in excellent hands.

Linda said...

Will continue praying for Tori.

Can't stay...... I hear Dennis coming down the stairs.

Have a wonderful Sunday Morning and I will be back later.............

xoxo

Thanks Steve for the new thread. As you can see from the old thread Steve. Our eagles have in the nest had HP three different times. So they are probably activity on the limbs also.

Thanks for several call over to new thread.

Looking at the old thread. Thank you Lynn for helping me out with my mix up of Sandi and Carol Anne.

I think I need coffee!!!!!!!!!!!

I think every one of my dogs have had a quirk of some kind.....the most recent being Liesl with the dumb Beggin Strips commercial---waking her out of a sound sleep every time! Thank goodness it has not been aired recently!

Had a little scare this morning....power went out momentarily three times in 5 minutes......I was still in bed, but O2 concentrator sounds an alarm. Thankfully, it was okay after that. Bill (who was a lineman in his youth) says that if it survives 3 resets, it's usually going to be okay. If it isn't, it will stay out immediately after the 3rd attempt. I was holding my breath!!

GOOD MORNING, LADIES...
So many things to be thankful for this morning...TORI being #1 on the transplant list is #1!
50% survival rate is better than 0%, but very scary~
Hope Shep is doing HP properly and so now, he knows "practice makes perfect":)

D-MO, it think asked about Belle's egg laying time...Jan. 31 is the earliest and (I think) Feb. 14 was the latest. We do have very heavy snows in Feb., so we will hold our breath the whole month!
Gotta get dressed...
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY♥

paula eagleholic said...

Wonder when the second egg arrived at BW??

Praying here for Tori, I can't even fathom what her family must be feeling.

Janet said...

good morning to one and all...nashville checking in. 30 degrees right now with bright, sunny skies...

nice quiet weekend around here. got my raw tax numbers crunched yesterday, a bit of cleaning done....today?????? dinner @ crackerbarrel at 3 and bowling @ 6....exciting day! lol.

yes judy, i saw where thundershirts are getting rave reviews. i think i will have to get one for beano. i want to take him on vacation with us this year as i don't want to kennel him for 10 days he hated 5 days last year. fact is, he's my buddy and doesn't want to be anywhere else, and i want him along as well. kind of fond of the little dude.

loved the vidoe of the eagles ...i am so surprised they lay eggs so early in the season when it is sill so cold! how long do they brood? (sit on eggs, not sure if that is the right term for eagles as it is for chickens???) ..... just seems SO early in the year!

well be back in a bit....just checking in for the moment.

*smiles*

Sandi said...

Lynn, Thanks for the call over! Thanks also for keeping everyone straight on everything! Wonderful news about Tori and again, she couldn't be in a better place than U of MD - we have nothing but positive things to say about the docs there, based on my brother-in-law's transplant experience.

We're having snow flurries with the sun out - very strange! Lots to do to make up for being in Balto. yesterday - laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning, and the Ravens play at 1PM! Fortunately, I have an extra day off tomorrow! =)

On another note, my 9-year old dishwasher isn't washing dishes! Noticed the last 3 times that we've run it that the detergent dispenser opens, but the detergent is still where it runs down the door when the dispenser opens. I hear water, and, when I open the door at the end of the wash cycle, the dishes are wet but, b/c the detergent isn't dissolving, the dishes aren't being cleaned. I suspect that the arm at the bottom that is supposed to spin around to do the washing isn't spinning (there's nothing blocking it b/c i took everything out of the bottom rack and then ran it, plus the arm spins freely when I turn it manually). Anybody had a similar problem and recall the repair cost? Trying to decide if it's worth fixing or if I should just get a new dishwasher? I was hoping to replace the dishwasher, range, and refrigerator all at the same time and switch over to stainless steel appliances and we don't have the money to do that right now. It would really bother me to have a stainless steel dishwasher and an almond range and refrigerator, but I'd do it if I have to.

magpie said...

wondering that too Paula...we had a lot of eyes watching, maybe under the cover of darkness and when the cam was off....ref BWE

thanks Lynn, and I meant to type STARK not Start....

appreciate all your information...
glad you have power, 'else we'd not be seeing you here !!

hedgie said...

I suspect that the BW egg was laid during the night.....

Margy, another chopper en route to Morgan....to the hospital.

Janet, 35 days incubation for eagles is the average.

paula eagleholic said...

Sandi, I would get a service call on the dishwasher and go from there!

Sandi said...

Paula, That's my plan as of now. I have a very honest repair guy - when I called about my front loader, he asked me some questions and then told me that, based on the age of the machine and the estimated cost to fix my problem, I should just buy a new one and save myself the trip charge. Just wondering if anyone on the blog has had a similar problem/repair. Thanks for the opinion.

Mema Jo said...

Good Sunday Morning! Very happy that our gal, Tori is # 1 on the list.
Blackwater is on schedule with their 2nd egg. Usually that is all they get but if there is a third it should be here by mid week.
Thanks for the video, Judy! I need to find out if NBG has an egg. They usually do right before our nest does.

Wonderful about Chrissy. Hoping for another email address so ecards can reach her for her birthday on the 16th

Mema Jo said...

I can understand why it is so important to be listed as a Donor. So many young adults lose their lives in car accidents and shootings - Just yesterday an 18 yr old died in a car accident here locally - that could have been Tori's donor had his license been marked Donor.

Janet said...

In my humble opinion; organ donation is one of the most important things that we can do for one another. tom and i are looking into donating not only organs, but our bodies to vanderbilt university upon our demise. they take what they need, cremate the remains and return them to your family. sounds like a win win to me....hopefully that isn't for a long while yet, but to know that we maybe able to help someone, whether with a direct organ donation, or thru research is a wonderful thought!

getting out of here now.....thanks for the info on the egg incubation. will have many more questions as time arises, i suppose. have a fabulous day to one and to all...

*smiles*

Sandi said...

Jo, the parents of the young man whose liver my BIL got didn't even know that their son was a donor. He had just recently gone to DMV to get his provisional license converted to a regular driver's license and became a donor, but hadn't told his parents. The hospital staff at GBMC saw it on his license and informed the parents. Both of our sons became organ donors as soon as they got their licenses and then Denny and I did the same. My feeling is let the docs have ANYTHING of mine that they could use to help someone else live - I won't need any part of this body where I'm going!

hedgie said...

Totally agree, Sandi and Janet.
Just fear that they won't WANT mine after all this radiation!

So far, Jo, Chrissy's email is the same. She'll let us know if/when it changes.

Sandi, I can't remember what went bad on my D/W but was alos told over the phone by my trusty plumber that it was cheaper to buy a new one! I think it was about 12 yrs. old. I have a mix-match: almond stove top and D/W and a stainless fridge!

magpie said...

When I first did Body Gift Registry several years ago, they would not accept the body if organs had been removed for donation, I believe that has been updated to accommodate for that....

going to find out and get my driversl license updated if so..

'Morning Jo...
Good To See You, as well as all the other Eagle Pals here...

magpie said...

Lynn..every body is a gift...and has much to offer in the name of science and research...sure I am not telling you anything you don't know...but....You Are Good, You Are Beautiful....

Mema Jo said...

C/A - appreciate your emails concerning
recipes .. I'll look into my "drawer"
and see what I can find of interest!

hedgie said...

Yep, Margy...."you is kind, you is smart, you is beautiful" is such a precious thing to teach all children....and adults need to be reminded sometimes, too!!!
NOT donating my body to science/research.....just organs if usable!!

hedgie said...

And speaking of dishwashers.....a word to the wise from this dummie: if you are buying new flatware for everyday use....read the box carefully!!! I didn't and ended up with lovely, inexpensive utensils that I have to wash by hand! What a PIA!
I stash it in the D/W basket until it's time to run the D/W and then have a lot of pieces to do....which I just finished!!!

A former student of mine has a 3-1/2 year old with a very rare blood disorder called HLH. Ally spent almost a year of her very short life at Hopkins, first going thru chemo, and then having a bone marrow transplant, then spent another 2 months at Kennedy Kreiger for therapy. Like young Tori, there were many scary days and weeks for Ally and her parents but she is thriving now. While following Ally's story on CaringBridge and learning how her life was saved by a young lady in CA who didn't even know her but was willing to donate her bone marrow, I went through the process to become a bone marrow donor. I may never be a match for anyone before I "age out," but still feel good about having done it.

DanaMo said...

I love the bumper sticker that says "Don't take your organs to heaven...Heaven knows we need them here" I too am an organ donor.

CarolAnne said...

In regard to organ donations, and also being a blood donor, please consider plasma donations. "So what is plasma? It’s the liquid portion of blood, and consists of water, salts, enzymes, antibodies and other proteins. These proteins and antibodies are used to make medicines that improve the quality of life for people in need."

Of lesser importance, plasma donors are paid for each plasma donation.

hedgie said...

Good on you, Sandi. Is Ally's prognosis good? Prayers for the little one.
I am on a rare blood registry...I have weird antibodies in my blood, thanks to multiple transfusions I received when Carolyn was born. Red Cross has only called once for a needed donation, but I always gave blood at our drives at work before I got sick in '05. I guess a lot more people have those antibodies now!! Had just reached the point where I could start donating again when this new cancer showed up.

Wasn't a big deal. Electric Company Is HAPPY TO DO THIS.

DanaWV, I am not dependent on the O2. Dr. just says I'll get better sleep with it.

Good Afternoon, Eagle Buds !

I'm so pleased with ROBYN's last Caring Bridge report and introduction of Tori's lead doctor, via video. God's finerprints are all over the miracle we're witnessing.

MARGY, Seth and I were listening to PHC along with you, but we didn't fall asleep. Dr. Roger's was on and he was very excited over the fact that Jewel seems to be in labor. Garrison asked all the right questions about the history of the bears the good Dr. has experience with. I'm sure there are many more bear cam viewers today because of it ! I've been watching Jewel off and on since the program. She's alternated between sleep and wakefulness, doing a lot of grooming and scratching, scratiching, scratching ! Still no sign of a newborn or two, however.

The Decorah video brought back memories of the "Truder" invasion. Hope the Iowan story ends up quite differently !

Julie, Hugh and Malcolm visited at noon. Seth and I presented them with a card and the wedding album I made for them years ago. Felt it was time for it to be in their hands. They will celebrate their 19th anniversary tomorrow---I have such wonderful memories of that glorious day ! Hugh put my YakTracs on a pair of boots. I am not strong enough to do it and so they must stay on the same footwear all the time. Will have to carry shoes along to change into, as they make me slip and slide on the kind of flooring most stores have, as tested on my tiled kitchen floor. They'd be very damaging to wood floors. I guess they'll be good for treks to the garage, the dumpster and when walking Malcolm. Any YakTrac users here ? If so, what has been your experience with them ?

Lolly said...

Wow, Jewel is awake and has her head right by the camera.

Lolly said...

I think I am falling in love with Jewel, as I did with Lily. I am just facinated watching her. Need to go mop floors as Jack has vacuumed, but do not want to leave.

Kay said...

SANDI, what a great endorsement for Thunder Shirts !

Loved all the pet stories. Malcolm goes a little spastic over the words 'out', 'park', and 'let's go get Seth' . Hugh said he started prancing back and forth to the back door today when asked, "Do you want to go to Grandmother's house ?" When they turn onto my street from the main thoroughfare, three blocks away he begins to do a little whine thing and dance around on the car seat. Wish I could have a dog, but there's no way I can walk one much of the winter. With a condo there is no back yard or fencing. I have to be content with getting him on loan frequently.

Kay said...

Looks like Jewell is really working on something right now ! The floors will wait, LOLLY, this is getting exciting !

Lolly said...

Yes, it is Kay! Something is going on for sure. Waiting to hear a little cub cry!!!♥

Kay said...

She's been digging at her flugg and is soooo restless. Listen to those loud snorts or roars !!!! Now she's kind of balled up with head tucked and rear end toward the cam.

Kay said...

LOLLY, have you been in on a bear birth before ? Do the cubs cry immediatly after birth ?

hedgie said...

Baltimore better get with it or they're going to give this one away....argh!

hedgie said...

Tree and accessories are stowed for this season! ANd that is all I am gonna do today, except to vacuum where it was!

Kay said...

LYNN, so glad you're reaching the end of the de-decorating process ! Time to take a break, maybe even a nap !

Kay said...

Jewel has shifted again, turning her head out toward the cam. She just can't get comfy. She twitches, opens her eyes and makes noises every couple of minutes.

Lolly said...

Kay, yes, watched as Lily gave birth to Hope, and then to the twins. Cubs squeal rather loudly upon birth. LOL Little sticks of butter they are and quite noisy.

Lolly said...

Don't you want to reach out and pet her? LOL Give her a scratch between the ears? I am a hopeless bear fan.

Kay said...

Yes, this brings out all motherly instincts ! I want to help her push and get er' done !!!!

Lolly said...

When I saw a bear this summer in Colorado, I was jumping up and down with excitement!

Lolly said...

Okay, I am going to go mop. She seems to have settled for the moment.

I'll be back, but we leave in 55 minutes...that is when she will have her cub.

hedgie said...

WhooHoo! Lewis intercepts for Balmer.....now CAPITALIZE!!!! GO RAVENS!!!

Kay said...

Years ago, when I was 12, I saw bears and cubs at Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons. Since then I've only seen them behind zoo restraints. The Ohio black bear population is growing and there are now frequent sightings near small towns south of Columbus in our hill country. They keep getting closer to civilization in their quest for food.

Kay said...

LYNN, I love your enthusiasm for football ! Who are the Raven's playing ?

hedgie said...

Jewel seems settled for now. Hard to believe that the birthing process takes so long for bears when you consider their size andthe size of the butter sticks, as compared to humans!!

Lolly, can you get it on your phone?

Kay, never tried the contraptions you have but Bill and Frank made me a set of "grippers" once----they kept falling off!!!

Bet the kids were thrilled with that wedding album!

hedgie said...

A couple more dog stories from my childhood:
Gretchen, our first doxie, LOVED sauerkraut and popcorn. You could run the can opener for anything else and she wouldn't notice, but the minute a can of kraut hit that opener, she came running. Mom had to open two cans because Daddy and Gretchie ate so much straight from the can!!!! And she knew WHICH pan Mom used for popcorn and was right there as soon aas she heard it coming out of the cupboard!!

Field goal, Ravens!!! 20-13! 2:52 left in game!!!!

hedgie said...

Kay, Houston Texans.....

hedgie said...

If they win this, they go on to AFC Championship game against the New England Pats next weekend. If they win that one, SUPER BOWL bound!

hedgie said...

Jewel has turned facing cam and is moaning a bit.

hedgie said...

Loretta, I think the pics are great!!

Are those wolves howling????

NatureNut said...

What a nail biter Ballgame!!!!!!
Have Jewel cam up.

hedgie said...

Sure sounds like wolves to me!

Lolly said...

What are we hearing? Jewels? or wolves? LOL

Kay said...

LYNN, yes the kids were pleased. They've seen it before, but agreed my album is better, more complete than theirs. I included such things as Julie's letter telling me all about Hugh before they married---his mother's letter to me written in praise of Julie and her son's good taste---all the wedding stuff--their first trip as man and wife to see us in AZ---the clippings about Julie being a new prof at the University of Maryland and concluding with the first ultra sound picture of Seth. He was born a year and a half after their marriage. He loves looking at the stuff.

Is Jewell making those coyote type noises ? She seems to be resting, but sounds like she's in distress.

hedgie said...

Yahoo-----Baltimore intercepts on a deep scoring pass!!!!!!!! Yippee!!!!

hedgie said...

The sound doesn't seem to bother Jewel at all.

NatureNut said...

YAAAAY! Interception~~~Raven's ball!!!

Kay said...

That's the AZ in me--coyotes ! More like wolves in MN. I'm pretty sure she's making all those noises !

Wahoo, good for the Raven's, hope they make it to the Super Bowl !

More cute dog stories, love em' !

Lolly said...

Kay, we saw many bears in Yellowstone 42 years ago. One night, heading back to the campground we saw a bear. It was traveling along side the road. We got to our campsite and Jack started heading water.
We were in a tent, he was at a picnic table. I went to the rr. On my way back, folks started yelling "bear bear". Sure enough, here came that bear straight for our campsite as we were the only ones in a tent. We jumped in the car, the bear put his paws up on the table and smelled at our water. Then he left. Jack slept that night with an ax under his pillow.

Hi LORETTA ! Glad you're hear to root with LYNN ! I'm watching bears and they aren't the Chicago variety.

Lolly said...

Oh, I forgot!! On the way to church this morning a beautiful fox ran across the road in front of me. He was rather large, I think, for a fox and had the prettiest tail, big and fluffy. I was so excited and braked to watch him.
Glad there was not a car behind me.

Houston has the ball.....24 seconds left....DEFENSE! HOLD THAT LINE!

hedgie said...

We don't need or want any tied game and overtime!!!

hedgie said...

WooHooo!!!! That's a wrap! RAVENS WIN!!!!!

Sandi said...

Wow - what a nail biter! Too many games like that this season! They had better play better than this next week against Tom Brady!!

Kay said...

Congrats Raven fans ! One step closer to the Really BEEG Game !

hedgie said...

Jewel seems settled again...might be a long evening.....

NatureNut said...

Next week Will be scary w/New England!!!
Yeah, Da Bears are gone from Chicago. Watching Jewel. I thought I heard wolves in the background, too.

Lolly said...

We are about to leave. I have tried to get the cam on my phone but it is just not coming up for me.

See you all later!

DanaMo said...

Back from the airport. Aric should be taking off in a few minutes and will be back in Dayton at 6pm.

Kay said...

DANAMO, Godspeed and safe travel for Aric !

paula eagleholic said...

BWe cam is all fuzz

paula eagleholic said...

Or static I should say

Sandi said...

DMo, did your Suburban do OK getting to the airport? Did you stop somewhere to have oil added?

Kay said...

I hear that tell tale clunking near the camera at our nest ! Jewel's sounds and those at the nest are kind of intertwining for a strange effect here !

Kay said...

I only have our nest, Jewel's labor room and the blog up. I've been paying mid-month bills while keeping an idea on all those and e-mail. The old gal can still multi-task !☺

DanaMo said...

I didn't stop Sandi. The light wasn't on when I started it again so I took a chance. I will take it into our regular guy tomorrow.

Mema Jo said...

Whoo Hoo for those RAVENS! As you said it was a nail biting game.
I have Jewel's cam open. My sound keeps
going off and on. Very noisy - but doesn't sound like wind.

Hubby saw a red cardinal way down in the yard - To me it usually is a sign of
snowfall.

Almost dinner time

Sandi said...

DMo, is tomorrow a day off for you? I know there are days that Catholic schools are closed and public schools aren't; just wondering if Catholic schools have off for MLK Day? We have a 4-day week this week and a 4-day week next week (at least a 4-day with students) b/c 1/25 is the end of the 2nd marking period and teachers have 1/27 to work on grades.

DanaMo said...

Boy that sun on the nest is deceiving, it's cold out there!

DanaMo said...

Yes, I am off tomorrow! Yipee!

Kay said...

JO, speaking of cardinals, this article was in today's paper. I've never anything but red cardinals, but check this out. I live about 2 blocks east (if it were marked off in blocks) of the Olentangy River where the red and white has been sighted. Sure would love to see him !

Yellow/Multi-colored Cardinals

hedgie said...

Liesl is so smart...she has all three balls in the kitchen. Neon pink/yellow, neon orange/yellow, and plain yellow. When I throw one, even if it hits the others, she always brings back the right one! I'm amazed that she can distinquish between the pink and orange!

Kay said...

Oops, make that "her" on the Albino with red streaks--not a him.

Kay said...

Oh, oh, sounds like that woodpecker is near our cam--or one of the eagles is cleaning the beak.

LYNN, Liesl is a college graduate ! Of course, she's brilliant and knows which ball is "It" ! ☺

DanaMo said...

I think it's the smell. Frisbee does the same thing. I will throw two tennis balls, one for him and one for the puppies, he always brings back his!

Kay said...

LYNN or JO, is football going to mess with the CBS schedule tonight or will we see 60 Minutes and The Good Wife at the right times ?

DanaMo said...

Kay do you have snow on the ground?

Kay said...

It is high time for Belle and Shep to check out their nest for the last time today ! Come on, you two !

Sandi said...

I have friends who had a black lab named Darby. Their property backs up to Loch Raven reservoir and Karen & Dick would frequently hit old tennis balls into the woods for Darby to fetch. The woods were full of old tennis balls. When we would play tennis on Karen's court and accidentally hit a tennis ball over the fence and into the woods, Karen would yell, "Darby, fetch!!" Darby would take off into the woods and return with the very tennis ball that we hit over the fence as opposed to the 50-60 others that were in the woods!! He could smell Karen's scent on the ball he was supposed to bring back! Great trick!! Their current black lab, Casey, has never learned how to do it! Casey does, however, retrieve their newspaper from the top of their very long driveway. When he was a pup and Karen was trying to teach him the trick, she would reward him with a treat. Casey very quickly started fetching every newspaper in the neighborhood and bringing it back to get lots of treats!! =D

Kay said...

DANAMO, yes, we got about two inches total over the last two days. The roads are all clear. Temps have been under 20, but it's "heating" up tomorrow and some rain is in the forecast, so we'll get rid of this stuff before another snowstorm heads our way.

hedgie said...

WOW, Kay...what beautiful birds. Never have seen that before!! Wouldn't you love to see them in person??!!!!

DanaMo said...

Oh how cute Sandi about the newspapers. Labs are smart and they love their tennis balls. The puppies are still trying to get the hang of it. Frisbee will go back and forth til he drops. Java and Boomer will go if I get them real excited. They will both bring the balls back, but seem to bore easily of the game and just start chasing each other around. They are very funny! Sometimes they will go get the ball and drop it halfway to me! Frisbee on the other hand, will bring it and drop it at my feet. If it's not close enough I tell him "here" and he will either use his front paws to push it towards me or will pick it back up and toss it to me.

Kay said...

Indeed I would, LYNN. They are beautiful birds !

Back in the 70's my sister had a German Shorthaired Pointer, Dolly. On one of my visits to Tucson I played ball with her and with a wild pitch the ball went up on the roof and stuck near the evaporative cooler. Six months later I returned, walked out into the patio with a "hello there, Dolly !". She came toward me, stopped and pointed to the ball on the roof ! I was amazed !

Mema Jo said...

Since there is also a 4:00 game - it may mess with regular schedule. I just checked and I watch Good Wife on Chn 13 and NFL is on Fox 5 SOOOOOOO just
maybe I can say our regulars should be on time - We need my consultant Lynn
to confirm my statement... lol

DanaMo said...

Kay, can you believe Aric didn't bring a winter coat back with him? We'll see how soon before he asks me to send one to him. He also left his guitar and wants it shipped. I told him he will have to wait til dad is coming down on business and he will bring it. But really! No winter coat!

DanaMo said...

What time were Belle and Shep here last night? I feel like they did make an evening visit and it was later than I expected. Anyone remember?

Kay said...

DANAMO, will Frisbee go through an Aric withdrawal ?

Sandi said...

DMo, I recall reading the emails about last evening's visit on my cell and we got on the road at 5PM, so I'd say it was around this time.

Mema Jo said...

Not sure DMo - I was at Mass so we know
it was after 4:30 and maybe between 5 &
6:30....

Sandi said...

First report of EAGLE was Linda at 5:15PM - I just checked back.

paula eagleholic said...

BWE is back

Kay said...

Just looked back on the old thread. B and S were at the nest from 5:15 to 5:28 yesterday evening.

DanaMo said...

Well I was at Mass too so I couldn't have seen them! Geez...I must be thinking of this morning.

Frisbee will be looking for Aric for a couple of days. With Monte gone all week he will sleep with me.

paula eagleholic said...

DanaMO, your Frisbee sounds like my Nugz was with the tennis ball...the pups sound like Boo!

Mema Jo said...

BWE is really clear - time for us to view that egg #2.. Hope there is a switch soon.

Heating up chili - love it better 1 day old.

DanaMo said...

Kay, I'm going through Aric withdrawal. I cried as soon as I got back in the car and off and on all the way home.
I posted on FB that they don't tell you at the hospital when you get that bundle of joy that eventually you have to let them go...:(

paula eagleholic said...

Nick is starting to get a hang of the ball throwing...he only last so long with it, but he does bring it pretty close most of the time!

Too funny about the dogs finding the exact ball....mine were like that as well, but Boo always used to try and steal Nugz's ball!

paula eagleholic said...

Jo, I am doing chili and cornmuffins today, too. I haven't seen our birds, but I've been busy

Kay said...

For those of you who've watched Jewel's mom deliver cubs, did she go through periods of great restlessness and seeming to be uncomfortable, broken up with long period of rest ?

paula eagleholic said...

Kay, those cardinals are pretty! Wonder why the pic of the guy inbetween them?

Kay said...

DANAMO, I understand your Aric withdrawal well ! Went through it many times as my 3 were in college and even later when they'd leave after visiting me in AZ. I've also cried about half the flight home to AZ after visiting the kids !

Kay said...

PAULA, I wonder the same thing. His picture wasn't in the delivered paper, only on the online version. Strange !

hedgie said...

Jewel remains peaceful and sleeping.

Sandi said...

EAGLES - DIDN'T SEE THEM ARRIVE. WALKED AWAY FOR 1 MINUTE AND THERE THEY WERE.

Hoda said...

I am back and I have a LARGE brownie which I will cut in quarters and eat it oer a four day period...this way I will feel good about it...LYNN made me do it!!! LOL LYNN you said I could use you for an excuse for the brownie...

I know there was a team called Ravens playing this afternoon...but when I turned on the cam for the longest time there was a raven perched on the thin branch to the right of the Y branch...did anyone else see it...?

No evening visit yet I see... SANDI is right about last evening's time and so they are even later than that now...maybe a no show?

I hear cluncking

EaGLES

Kay said...

PAULA, mystery solved. It's the naturalist who did the report. Jim McCormac. I went to his blog and found more info and beautiful birds. Check it out:

TWO FLEW IN AND ONE FLEW OUT RIGHT AWAY AND THERE GOES THE OTHER...

Is that it? Man oh man I am glad I did not blink!!!

Sandi said...

That was short!! Hardly worth waiting around for!

Mema Jo said...

Fed the cats
came back

There they are

Hoda said...

I hear clunking again...yet I have JEWELS Cam up too so maybe it is from there I do nto think so...has anyone else heard it?

Mema Jo said...

lol My 2 eagles were right in the nest
Standing very still because my cam
went off! Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sandi said...

Hoda, I am not hearing anything near the nest cam. If you can take 4 days to eat 1 brownie, then you are a better woman than me!!

Hoda said...

Pardon me!!! But I think Jewel just burped or farted...excuse me I know it was not me!!! LOL!!! No one else is around...LOL

Kay said...

Gee Whiz ! I've had the cam up for over 3 hours and they have to do a touch and go exercise just when I'm looking at birds on that blog !
Guess I'm not as good at multi-tasking as I gave myself credit for earlier ! :(

paula eagleholic said...

Glad ya'll saw them...I gave up and was checking on Jewel!

paula eagleholic said...

I heard it too, Hoda, LOL

hedgie said...

IF the basketball game ends on time, TV schedule should be good to go for the evening! I'll let you know!

Sounds like we all have raised or been associated with VERY smart dogs!!! Love all the stories!

DanaMo....it gets worse, kiddo. Wait til you see them walking down the church aisle! And then when they have their own bundles of joy!!

Sandi said...

Hey Paula, as our resident eagle expert, do eagles burp or fart? Surely that must have been Jewels that you heard, NOT our eagles! =)

Hoda said...

SANDI these are SUPER HUGE BROWNIES. Open your palm and include the portion with the fingers and this is how big one brownie is!!!
Thanks SANDI the noise is coming from the den then...

Kay said...

LOL, HODA ! Jewell is in a lot of distress and making lots of noises. Many of them do sound like a teenage boy getting a kick out of body function sounds !

hedgie said...

We did make it to a high of 35 ° today....has already fallen to 29°. But NO wind!!!! Rain in the forecast for Tues. here, Kay.

Sandi said...

Hoda, thanks for the visual on the brownie. If it's that big, then I can see dividing it into 4 pieces, but I still don't think I'd have the willpower to spread out eating it over 4 days!
