Soon - very soon - on a dark night -

we are lucky we will see an egg roll in the morning of the next day.......

Just came in to get my evening meds and found a stink bug crawling all over them! OUT THEY GO!!

I am doing really well, can walk a short distance without any help. Walker is too big to take into the bathroom, so I started using my cane...today, I just held onto the vanity.
I have eleminated some pain pills...makes me want to nap too much. I need to move around to keep from stiffning up.
P Therapist coming 10am tomorrow morning. Too early for me, but she said she would try to fit me in afternoons, later. (I have a female PT, now)
LYNN, I got a phone call today from Humana, offering transportation and other services today...SO IMPRESSED:)

JudyE, so the baby with trisomy 18 was actually born? That's a rare event with that type of disorder. They really need to enjoy the time they will have with the baby. I know of 2 pregnancies within the last month that ended in a stillbirth.

Margy, congrats to the deputy!

Shirley, glad Susan is loving the new job!

paula eagleholic said...

Great news, Wanda! Sorry about the SB!

Sandi said...

Hoping that JO's new meds and LYNN's pain patch help them to feel better quickly.
Praying that Tori and Joe and their families rest peacefully tonight.
Wishing for eagle eggs soon!
Goodnight friends!

From the tone of the NBG article, it sounds like they are ready to remove all the nests from NBG...

NCSuzan said...

What wonderful news today on our blog. I am so grateful that they both came out of surgery and are doing so well.

Jo, hope the drugs help your cough and that you feel better soon. Rest and do not exert!

Lynn, read that you were going to call it an earlier day. Hope you sleep and rest well.

Take care everyonee. Hoping for eggs soon!!!!

New entry from Robyn on caringbridge...very touching...log in and read it...

Mema Jo said...

Good Evening Wanda! I know what you are going through when you say the walker just won't fit! At first I was unsure as to which hand I was to use the cane -
The opposite of the injured leg. Held
cane in right hand due to left leg had
been broken.

You are doing great! You'll be dancing
in 2 weeks.......... Won't she Gene! ♥

magpie said...

Good Report, Wanda, - except the Stink Bug part...and I have one here banging against the inside of a lamp shade :(

glad you could check in....kind of happy to hear that your Eagle Cane is still getting some attention

Love to you and your handsome nurse ☺☺ ♥♥

Coming back for a final post to say good night. As many of you, I was up and down all night checking for word about Tori.

It has been a glorious day and I am so thankful to our Lord and Savior for the blessings and miracles we have witnessed today.

Not only the major ones, but the not so major ones, too!

WANDA - So happy to hear you are getting around and reducing the pain meds already!!

LYNN - One more day to go!! May you sleep well tonight without any distress. You've had a long road and I pray it is finished!!

JO - Happy to hear that you got some meds to clear up your cough. Hope you're back to normal in no time!!

Special prayers for Robyn and Tori tonight, but oh so different than previous nights!! Rejoicing in the gift that Tori has received and praying that she recovers, heals, adjusts and gains strength very soon. She has so very much to live for.

Healing prayers for all in this roost and beyond.......

Love to each of you ♥

Jack and I finished our puzzle tonight. It was a fun one to work.

Worked in the yard this afternoon. Raked up over a wheelbarrow load of acorns from the front yard. OMG! Tons more to rake.

Lynn, hope tomorrow is yet an even better day. Then...what do you do next? Our love and prayers are continuing. Love you!

Lolly said...

Can not stop yawning. Think I will head to the shower and then to bed. Just checked the cam...no eagle in the nest.

Night all! Sweet dreams!

(Now I have the hiccups! Oh, dear!)

Costume Lady said...

Lolly doing a puzzle reminds me, GG said she would try to work on a puzzle if I got her one. That will be my first shopping trip purchase. It would be so wonderful if she could get interested in something so time consuming! She used to do puzzles with me as a child...loved that!

LYNN, my phone call from Humana was a machine, but left me a number to call if I had any questions.

So sorry you have been having issues with your last few treatments. Also, wanted you to know that you were such an inspiration to me, during your treatments. Your stamina and courage gave me the strength and will to go on, when I didn't think I could! Love you lady♥

GOOD NIGHT MY DEAR FRIENDS
PRAYERS FOR TORI, JOE, AND ALL OTHERS WHO ARE SUFFERING

Mema Jo said...

Lolly - who got to put the last puzzle piece in place?

Wanda - good to hear you on here.

so well. You make a call when you want
to go to lunch per your PT gal. ♥

wvgal_dana said...

Wanda so happy you are doing so well. I PRAISE GOD FOR THAT!!! Rest, move around, do you PT, eat Genes wonderful cooking. And most of all I pray for a full recovery.
Love you♥

Mema Jo said...

Really really sad about the airport and NBG eagle nests! There are going to be
frustrated eagles. I also think of the
Forum leaders and camera men that have put so many hours into their projects.
This is a no win for the eagles. I wish
some one could capture and place them
in a different state. Sadly they would probably fly back to their territory.
But we know that Human Life is at the
top of the list.

wvgal_dana said...

Mema Jo please if you read this message. I know you have COPD. Remember a little while back Red (Bill) told of the doctor putting him on a new medicine. He said if you know of anyone that has COPD tell them about this medicine. Please email Red and ask him what the medicine is. Then ask you doctor PLEASE just do it for me. Get the name of it from Red then ask your doctor about it please. Love you lady hugs ♥

Good night everyone...prayers continue for all.

This has been a day of tears and happiness!!!!

you continue to go through over your job position.

Morning Sandi! Scratches are healing, no big. I'm still babying a few a the punctures, though.
And, how is Bandit? Anything new?

Sandi said...

Lori, The hearing was yesterday and it was in the juvenile detention center, not in court. It was very sad. The purpose of the meeting was to determine if the young man's alleged actions (he's been charged but not convicted so the term is alleged actions) were in any way a result of his disability (federal law for kids with IEPs). There were 15 people at the table - folks from our school, folks from the detention center school, the kid's fodter mom and biological dad who just got out of jail, his social worker, his court-appointed attorney. The boy had to sit there while all of the charges were read aloud to everyone. You know what happens when you put 15 adults in a room who have to all agree on a decision? It's impossible. So after 2 1/2 hours, we ended up stopping the meeting b/c we couldn't reach consensus. Without a decision, he can't be released to go home and/or come back to our school until his trial. So he has to stay there until the trial. Just sad! He's been dealt such a bad hand - abandoned by his mom very early, was sexually abused in foster care at a young age, real dad has been in and out of jail his whole life. The charges against him are very serious. Again, very very sad. Don't know how things will play out, suspect he'll never come back to our school. I gave him a hig and a kiss before we left that scary place - the district would probably frown on a teacher doing that, but that's what he needed yesterday. Let them fire me for being a mom and showing a kid some love!

Sandi said...

Caught the typo just as it sent - HUG, not hig!

magpie said...

Good Morning Eagle Pals...

Sandi said...

Morning MARGY! Lori, Bandit's the same. Off to get ready for a normal day at school. Will check back during the day! Later.

DanaMo said...

Good for you Sandi. I would hae done the same thing. The child needed a hig (hee hee) and a kiss and your support. Some of these children's lives are just so sad and hard to understand. I have friends that are foster parents and the stories are just awful.

Copied a statement from Ed Clark, founder and President of the Wildlife Center of Virginia, on likelihood of viable eggs or no eggs even after mating with a first timer. Thinks it's a little too long to post here, but the odds are very slim. There's always hope. Ty Judy. Eagle Hugs, cg

Close to 6, O2 alarm went off--power was out!!! Even phone line was out. Carolyn's was okay---she called power co.: "part of known outage area; should be restored by 8:30." I was having visions f looking like a dork with a hat on today in 60° weather because of severe bed-head! But ta-da---it came on at 7:30!!!!

Taking myself today----see onc. also but not until an hour after rad, so will run to Office MAx and get printer ink. May even treat myself to a Frosty since Wendy's is next door!!
WANDA---I will also leave a puzzle on GG's doorstep!! I have a lot!!! Just tell her to look after 1:30!!!

(But I'll still worry a bit) lol

TeeHee I agree with you Sandi -

That's enough of all that HP

We want to see the egg rolls

Something interesting about vultures: they use projectile vomiting as a defensive weapon. When they are frightened or threatened, they vomit and the smell is absolutely the WORST SMELL IN THE WORLD.

Trust me on this, I know from personal experience!

We were rehabbing a turkey vulture, a juvenile, and he got frightened and threw up on our driveway. Every fly in 15 counties immediately descended upon the spot, and even though we used lots of cleaners on it, including straight bleach and high-pressure water, it took weeks for the spot to not attract flies.

We have a permanent resident turkey vulture now, his name is Voldemort. Luckily, he feels safe enough with us (tolerates us enough) that he hasn't felt the need to defend himself this way!

Update about Joe:

He is off the vent, alert and hungry. His blood pressure has been up some and they are working on that. They are going to start him out on ice chips and progress from there!

Update about Nila:

I went to see her yesterday and she was sitting up on the side of the bed. She answers her phone when I call her. Her pain is getting a little worse I think but she is one tough lady. Thank you so much for your prayers.

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!

I'm trying to remember the name that Lori gave her vulture chicks - just
maybe Voldemort was one of them.
A very suitable name for a vulture.

Delphia, I had read that about vultures....but had no idea that the odor was THAT bad....ugh! Hope your Voldemort never graces you with that mess!

Sharon, thanks for the update....have been wondering how Joe was doing! Sounds SO great!! Praises to our Lord!

If Nila's pain is getting worse, I hope that Hospice adjusts her medication right away. She shouldn't have to be in pain. You are a great friend, and I know she appreciates your visits. God be with her through these difficult days.

I was a nice girl this morning---after toying with the thought of NOT letting transport know that I didn't need a ride.... I called and told them, and that today was my last day, and thanked them for their service. They wished me luck!

Mema Jo said...

You are a Nice Lady - always.
I know you had to go through a lot with the X-Ray you requested, but sure is a
good feeling to know there isn't any blockage.
Love ya lady!

Hmmmmmm.....Soul Train's Don Cornelius was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He must be quite up in years.....haven't heard his name in ages.

hedgie said...

Oh, well....only 75. Seems like he would have been a lot older than that!!

Have finished the paper.

JO, when we got down to the finish there were two pieces left to go and we each got one. Jack put his in and then I put the last piece in. It was a doozie of a puzzle. Looks like a pile of money on the table. It is not square or rectangle, as it has paper money sticking out in all directions. Also, there are 4 holes in the "pile" so there are edge pieces in the middle. Wild! What is funny is this puzzle has been on the closet shelf with the others and we do not remember ever working it.

I do not know if Zach has a theme for his birthday. Do not know if he is having a party. I have not been told. That's the way it is!

They are coming here Saturday as is Laurel and family. I am cooking dinner and I am going to go buy Zacharooksi an ice cream cake. He loves ice cream as do the other boys. So, I will see what kind of cake I can get and then get my own napkins, etc and make my own party!! The last time I talked with Ash she did not know what she was going to do. Probably a "no gift" party or everyone bring a book and everyone go home with a new book.

Zach has millions of toys and he really does not play with toys. I am giving him a pile of books. Jack and I had fun picking them out. Some are for him to read and some are to be read to him. He does love books.
