Morning all,
Speaking of resolutions, instead of the eat less, exercise more, here's a few we all might want to consider:

I resolve to mend a quarrel
Seek out a forgotten friend.
Write a letter long overdue.
Share some treasure.
Give a soft answer.
Listen.
Encourage youth.
Keep a promise.
Find the time.
Forgive an enemy.
Apologize if wrong.
Think first of someone else.
Laugh a little.
Laugh a bit more.
Express gratitude.
Take pleasure in the wonders of the earth.
Speak your love.

JudyEddy said...

I LOVE THEM ALL CAROLANNNE

Kay said...

Hi CAROLANNE and thanks for sharing that good list !

JudyEddy said...

OK LM I need to go get some cloths on and get ready to go get Jordyn and stick my nose out the door to see if its really chilly out of just me in the house being cold

Sandi said...

Morning CarolAnne!

CarolAnne said...

JudyE & Kay,
I think most of those will be easier than the "eat less - exercise more" resolutions.

Sandi said...

Based on Lori's nestcast, we won't get to see the sunrise hitting the nest this AM. Sunny here today and getting into the 50s.

Kay said...

Right you are, CAROLANNE !

CarolAnne said...

Morning Sandi,
Have a good day ladies.
We are in for some nasty weather this a.m. - rain/sleet/snow. Some bad accidents yesterday when we had a band of this weather pass thru. Started about 5 am, must get dog walks in before it gets too bad.

Take care all.

Sandi said...

There's the sun on the nest! I LOVE to see that!

magpie said...

Beautiful, CarolAnne..
Thank you !!

Ta Ta For Now - work time is NOW

xoxo ♥

JudyEddy said...

I love the way the sun shines on the lower branch of the nest make it looks colored pinkish orangish PRETTY

JudyEddy said...

Weather man is crazy it is not 60 out off course I don't live in StPete Angies does surrounded by water keeps warmer and we are not 60 out I need to by a out door thermometer I guess to be accurate but sweatshirt weather

Kay said...

SANDI, I agree, the nest bathed in sunshine is a beauteous thing ! I'm giving our eagles 20 minutes to put in another appearance. If not, I'm movin' on for a while.

JudyEddy said...

BBL Gonna go get Jordyn

stronghunter said...

Good morning. I see I missed one of our eagles early this morning.

T-Bird said...

Good morning my eagle peeps.

T-Bird said...

I missed the visit this morning.

T-Bird said...

Was it yesterday they were in there an extraordinary long time?

Sandi said...

Thelma, it was Wed. that Belle came twice and stayed for a very long time. Shep came and went but Belle stayed planted in the nest - that was the very windy day.

Sandi said...

Thelma, how are you feeling today after your fall?

T-Bird said...

Sandi-I'm still hurting but not as bad this morning. The trick for me, it appears, is to only do what is "safe" so I don't hurt it worse again. Thanks for asking.

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, Snagit is a video recording program that I use to record nest videos. Snipit is a picture taking tool to take still off the live feed.

hedgie said...

Hi, gang!
T-bird....please pamper that back....but get it checked out if no better soon! How did you fall? You DO remember that Momsters are NOT allowed to fall anymore, right??

CarolAnne---love your resolution list! Be careful in the bad weather.

DanaMo--did you get the copy of your folk's anniversary article I sent you? I STILL don't find it in Herald's online site in order to share with the group.

A cold 27° here, but supposed to warm up later....we shall see! There asre still snowflakes on the deck from last night's squall.

I slept well...no BAD dreams; just two silly ones!

hedgie said...

Egg cup looks well defined in the current light.

T-Bird said...

What is that at 5 o'clock?

T-Bird said...

Hedgie-I walking down a muddy hill at the cemetery. Yes, no momsters are allowed to fall. : ) I feel old.

hedgie said...

5 in the cup or on the outer edge? Looks like there may be some "remains" in the cup, doesn't it? I don't see anything on the outer edge.

Oh, dear....mud can be as slippery as ice---luckily not as hard to land on. Be careful, gal!

stronghunter said...

Oh dear me, peel me off the ceiling. I posted my "good morning," then I fell asleep in my recliner with the TV on. Oh, my gosh! Loud buzzing! One of those test emergency things. Yikes!

I am a person who does not tolerate a loud alarm clock. I do not need to awake to loudness. Ruins me for the day.

stronghunter said...

There it goes again. Good grief.

hedgie said...

Oh, dear, Shirley---truly a rude awakening! Hope you slept well before and after!

Hoda, wanted to say that your verse was marvelous. Loved it.

hedgie said...

Sad report from WCV

Judie said...

Okay, y'all got to slow down. Has everyone forgotten there is a blog speed limit? Well, okay, there really isn't one. I'm just too slow to keep up.

Slept through the morning visit.

Really like the resolutions, CarolAnne. Thanks for the reminder of other possibilities we too often overlook.

Glad you feel some better Thelma. Please be careful.

Shirley, want to hear about my wannabe adult who slept through 5 very loud alarms and missed the final exam? I also do not like loud alarms. Don't like waking up with a racing heart and pulse.

Will be out of here for lunch and then to pick up a few grosseries for the weekend.

Have a good day everyone.

hedgie said...

Enjoy your lunch, Judie!
REALLY??? 5 alarms? Excuses, excuses!!! Think that kid must have a hearing problem!

stronghunter said...

Yes, I am okay, now, Lynn. I think they have been doing those tests more often recently.

Time for more coffee now.

stronghunter said...

5 alarms?

I do not see how anyone could sleep through that.

I have heard of people having to put alarm clocks on the far side of the the room so that they have to get up to turn it off.

When I was in college, I had a clock radio that clicked loudly when it came on. The click was enough to wake me. And I preferred to wake up and turn it on before it had a chance to click.

I think it would be dangerous to sleep that soundly. Too much can happen.

I once climbed the wall--literally--when the phone rang while I was sleeping. It was when I was a newlywed. My husband was astonished and we always kept the phone on his side of the bed after that.

Of course, I had to overcome that reaction when I did substitute teaching, but one can control how loudly the phone rings, thank goodness.

stronghunter said...

Geesh, five alarm clocks would have been too expensive for me when I was in college.

stronghunter said...

Do enjoy your lunch, Judie!

Lori O. said...

Guess we need to add Fauquier County Eagle at WCV to our prayer list. Dang. If someone shot that eagle.....URGH!

hedgie said...

Will be interesting to see what the x-rays show, Lori. With no external injuries, most likely that he ingested lead shot from a carcass. :(

hedgie said...

Or a sinker from a fish, maybe.

Mema Jo said...

Good Morning friends! CarolAnne, those are wonderful and meaningful resolutions

Thelma, Thankful you are feeling somewhat better. Mud is the same as ice.

DanaMo - did your family go bowling yesterday? How were the new lanes?

Thompson gals are coming up to visit &
I should go and get my street clothes

BBL

Linda said...

Good Morning!

Went back to bed after our early morinng airport run. Michael will be home by 11am! Not bad.

Diann - it was me that mentioned ahead of the pain to Karla. If you are guilty of waiting until you feel the pain, you of all people should take heed and take those pain medications as prescribed every so many hours. It may do the trick for you that way, You have suffered enough, dear lady! TELL HER LYNN!!

Lynn - Happy to hear you got a good nights sleep last night. It makes such a difference, especially when your body is dealing with so much.

Shirley - I am right with you on the loud noises. It does not take much to startle me and the louder noises put me thought the roof.

Sharon - Glad Chelsea liked your DVD movie choices. I sure can relate to that proud mother's love, especially when your one and only comes home!! Enjoy!

Hoda - Enjoyed the Jerusalem song. Thanks for sharing.

CarolAnne - Loved the resolutions, too. We live in a "me" society that does not stop and take the time to look out for others, it is sad.

Thelma - Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Hope you are taking something round the clock for your pain, too, even if it is Tylenol or Advil. Stay ahead of that pain.

Now if I would take my own advice, I might be doing a little better. I just can't decide what to take. Aspirin isn't doing the trick. Maybe I will try some Aleve and see if it works better. Moist heat is helping, though.

I'm starving!! I think I will go get some late breakfast and warm up this cold coffee.

Wishing everyone an awesome day today"

Linda said...

Lynn - Thanks for explaining the possibilities of the lead found in the WCV eaglet found. I never would of thought of the sinker in the fish or lead from a carcass.

Why would they want him to be stable enough for anesthesia? Would they want to do exploratory surgery for the lead

They said the prognosis was poor. Prayer is definitely in line,

Lolly said...

Good morning! I am with Judie, I think there should be a speed limit on the blog. LOL By the time I get on it takes forever to catch up.

Thelma, so sorry for the fall and the pain in your back. Glad it is better, but you really should get to the doctor.

Lynn, so glad you had a good nights sleep. My dreams are always silly and if I start to have a nightmare, I have a way of waking myself up and stopping it!???? Do not know how I do it, but I do.

hedgie said...

Hi, Linda. They can get better x-rays and a more thorough examination when the eagle is anesthetized.
The lead contamination is the most harmful threat to birds of prey since DDT, along with fishing line (entanglement). Sadly, it looks like wwe will never get laws passed to ban lead in ammo and lures.....too much big money opposition.

hedgie said...

At least encourage any hunters or fishers you know to use lead-free products.

hedgie said...

AND to clean up their broken/discarded fishing lines.

Lolly said...

57 right now and sunny. Temp is heading up. Going to be a good day to do yard clean up. There is so much to do. Going to do a little bit each day.

Lolly said...

Time for me to get a move on! Jack is doing laundry. I am so spoiled! Got me a good jubby!♥

Have a great day!

Lynn, hope your new meds are working!

hedgie said...

So far so good, Lolly!

Dasmn transport is here already. Later! Bye!

Lori O. said...

Linda, have a great day!

Lynn, I also never thought of a lead sinker from a fish! All that great sleep made you even smarter today! lol

Shirley, I would be in fits to wake up like you did. Noise of all sorts bothers me...the louder the worse it is - high and shrill being the worst!

Going to try to go for a nap now. Hope we get more eagle visits today.

Linda said...

Thanks again for the further explanation, LYNN. That does make sense for better x- rays. Poor eagle :-(

Lolly - we can be a chatty group! It does take time to catch up. I have to come up with a plan to keep up better.

We need to elect a historian to summarize the day's posts every 12 or 24 hours and report the noteworthy things we would not want to miss!

Good luck with that one on more than one account!! What is important to report and who would the lucky speed reader, excellent writer person be with time to spare in their life to do all that?

Linda said...

Thanks, Lori. xoxo

Enjoy your nap. I love my naps ;-)

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good afternoon. I am working! :(

Andrew and Kelsey slept like rocks in my bed. His mother, however, did not sleep well at all on the day bed. I will trade a night's sleep for him being here any day. They have gone to lunch with friends now. I love that kid!

stronghunter said...

Interesting thing just happened--A man from the county tax assessment office just came to my door wanting to know if we had any earthquake damage. He said that there have been seven households on my street that reported damage. I showed him the tiny cracks in the foundation and he made a note of it. I don't even know that those cracks were caused by the quake.

He said that he had a crack large enough that daylight is shining through. He lives in town.

Sandi said...

There are 3 turkey vulture outside my sunroom window. One is on the roof of a neighbor's house, one is sitting in a tree, and the 3rd is on the ground eating something. Since I have never seen an eagle in person but these 3 guys are pretty up-close and personal right now, can one of you "country ladies" give me a frame of reference for how an eagle's size compares to these 3 guys I'm watching?

Hoda said...

Good morning/ Good afternoon all...

LINDA did you fall? Is this why you have back pain? AM I confused? I guess I will not be the speed reader who will summarize the posts every 12 to 24 hours!!! LOL

THELMA do be careful and I agree with LYNN get your back checked in case of a hair line fracture or discs out of alignement...

As to MISS BELLE and YOGA POSES from SANDI and the morning crew...I have it on authority that she was doing GARUDASANA...you got it EAGLE POSE. I spend time wrapping one leg over the other and then wrapping my arms around each other and then as I am balancing on one leg I lean forward and bend my knee...It is so funny to describe but it is a GREAT pose...so I think MISS BELLE being an eagle does not have to get twisted in knots, but any pose she does is GARUDASANA...

CAROLANNE I love the picture of you and your Husband. GREAT avatar. Awesome resolution list too.

JACK IS A KEEPER LOLLY...do you even have to ask him or does he do it on his own?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

TV: Adults are 24 to 28 inches tall with a wingspan between 63 and 71 inches.

Bald eagle is 27 to 35 inches tall with a 71 to 90-inch wingspan.

They are pretty close in size and a TV has such an ugly face. I used to have 3 that hatched in a barn across from where I lived in Bedford. I loved watching them.

Hoda said...

SHARON, enjoy your time with ANDREW and KELSEY...You are at work and they are visiting and you will get together later tyhe afternoon...GRAND simply GRAND...

wvgal_dana said...

Good Afternoon Eagle Friends (:

I guess I will start my way from this thread and go backwards.

I thought there would be a new thread.

I would not allow myself to get on the computer until I vacuum cleaned at least the main bath, and living room and swipped up the kitchan and laudry room. That leaves me 2 bedroom and another bath.

I really did take breaks and was tempted to turn on computer. I held out. My arms, hands and fingers are swollen and in pain. Although that is what happens if I vacuum clean one area and rest 20 minutes and do some and rest 20 minutes and finish the one room.
All is good becauce I know God is in control.

Hoda I pray you connect with your friend in Revelstoke. Prayers for those caught in the avalanches.

Prayers for Thelma's back and Linda's pain in upper neck and
back.

I see Sharon is "flying in the clouds" with Andrew and Kelsey
there. Prayers for Andrews shoulder.

Lori so more optical zoom is better than more digital zoom?

CarolAnne thanks for the list of resolutions.

Enjoy your visit with the Thompson gals Mema Jo and hope you are feeling better today. Still keeping
you in prayer.^j^

I have told people about the lead in ammuniation and in
sinkers. They just look at me like, "I don't give a crap".
SAD :(

Lynn I see your carriage arrived. Prayers go with you my
lady.

Neat that our Sweet Margy dropped in to see you last night.

Need to eat some ceral for breakfast well maybe lunch.

wvgal_dana said...

Has Wanda been on today? Maybe I missed her.???

DanaMo said...

Good afternoon!
What is in the nest???
Lynn-I received the article yesterday, thank you so much!
Jo-We did go to the new lanes last night. We had a great time. Son #2, Aric, kicked everyone's butt! The new place is very nice, but rather pricey it seems. Then again, I always say everything is expensive for a family of 6.

stronghunter said...

Wanda was on FB awhile ago, so she is around.

stronghunter said...

And Judie was here this morning before going out to lunch.

Hoda said...

WVDANA...it is all good...Revelstoke avalanche was triggered by one skier and he got out safe and no one else was injured either...RCMP, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, just put out a report this morning.I do not have friends in Revelstoke but pray for every ones savety anyway. My friend, Kevin Titus, lives in Pemberton the other ski avalanche area. He is OK and so are his twin sons...No further news as to casualties from there...It is all good. The RCMP seem to have it all under control from the news this morning...

wvgal_dana said...

Good to hear Hoda (:

Sandi said...

Sharon, Thanks for the info. on turkey vulture vs. eagle size. They may have ugly faces and eat dead things but I'm still mesmerized by watching them take off and land right outside my window! When we go to Balto. to visit my mom, we use her bed and she sleeps on a daybed in the spare room. I'm sure she gets a lousy night's sleep but am also sure she's happy to do it to have us there!
Hoda, I Googled garudasana. You can make your body do that??? I knew there had to be an eagle- related yoga position!! But the images I saw show women standing on just one leg and, when Belle does it, she stands on 2, plus she makes it look so effortless! Then again, maybe you can do it just as effortlessly!! =D
OK, off to spend my Christmas money today! BBL!

Hoda said...

I am off to do yoga and will see you all later...The book I started last night is interesting...an American kidnapped in Greece...her journal and what the media is saying. Curious format but interesting. It is written by a young Canadian author...short book

BBL. ENJOY!!!

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Shirley I will give that a read. Hugs

JudyEddy said...

A little alarm talk I see I don't hit the snooze and I have a clock that starts out low and gets louder until it is turned off With my one deaf ear I need it I ususally sleep with deaf ear up so its hard to hear any clock

So sad the eagle report of the lead

JudyEddy said...

LORI has there been any vulture siting at your roost lately I see our vultures all the time and always think of you we mainly have the turkey one but on occasion a black on I was at the park yesterday and we saw soooo many wood storks that they do love to eat bread they were within inches of our hands taking it out I was surprised they usually fly away I guess they were more hungry this time instead of scared

JudyEddy said...

DID we figure out what that odd looking thing is in the nest just below the cup I tried to get full screen to come up but can't get to cooperate with me to get a better look at it
Jordyn has asked to lay on the couch to watch Abby Cadabby so I know she is tired So cute she always ask to do things even when she is tired she ask to go to sleep funny kid

JudyEddy said...

Glad you feel better LYNN and THELMA and you must have forgotten the new rule about falling remember we had a bunch within the past year

stronghunter said...

Put out some peanuts for the squirrels, but just saw a bird grab one. Cool.

wvgal_dana said...

I have the live feed up having no problem.

stronghunter said...

I really don't think I have anything to worry about from the earthquake.

But it is odd that seven households from my street have reported damage. I know one house on the cul de sac has damage on the front porch.

My full screen is working just fine, Judy.

JudyEddy said...

NO love feed issue I just can't get full screen to go full

stronghunter said...

Can't tell what that is in the nest, either, though. Tried full screen.

stronghunter said...

Just took care of my mortgage payment, so I can get credit this year.

wvgal_dana said...

Well it is now time for me to vaccum the other rooms.

Hopefully I will get back on here today ha ha

hedgie said...

FINALLY got back home at 2. And FINALLY got some lunch. Wow--I was hungry!

JudyE--Shirley's earthquake stuff refers to the one near her a few months ago. Think they are still getting little aftershocks.
There was some damage around here, too, but nothing serious. Of course, in DC, the Washington Monument had significant damage, and the National Cathedral had millions in damage, too.

DanaWV.....Bill says there is nothing that will completely remove the stains....and trying can often damage the flooring. Best to just keep those spots covered.

hedgie said...

Sandi, you need to check Lori's blog for pics of the black vultures she "raised" this past season!!

UPS delivered a beautiful gift today from our sweet Sharon and Thelma!! It is a handcarved statuette of a lady with her arms crossed over her chest entitled "Healing Grace." It is very inspiring.....and just lovely....and I feel their love and hugs through her. Thanks, again, gals!!!! Love you!

hedgie said...

I know, Shirley.....can't make it out. Looks like it WAS furry, maybe??

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Lynn, it is Willow Tree figure. I love them. Someone gave me the freedom one for my clean day and it is holding a butterfly. I could feel the freedom when I saw it!

Kay said...

SHARON and THELMA, how sweet of you to send the beautiful statuette to LYNN ! Have fun with your precious guests.

LYNN, thanks for the WCV report on the Fauquier Co. eagle. It couldn't be in better place for treatment. Fingers crossed and prayers being said !

Sounds good to hear you're back and hungry ! Oogy-pies a thing of the past I hope.

Off to the kitchen to whip up some Pillsbury/Sugar Free brownies. Seth will spend tonight here rather than Saturday. We'll have spaghetti marinara, garlic bread..... He's bringing a movie with--will report on that tomorrow. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

JudyEddy said...

I got full screen to work when I opened a new browser but I get a message Engine initialization failure in the address bar above google

JudyEddy said...

that message is in the spot where Norton is in on the other browsers Odd huh

hedgie said...

Sharon, I know I've heard of Willow Tree, but I don't think I have ever seen any before. It is SO very smooth and satiny....hard to believe that it's wood! Cool that we now share her work for special reasons!!!

Hmm, wonder how Kathryn's day went? There was some kind of money-refund program they were eligible for at work. Her boss decided it wasn't worth the trouble, then changed his mind a couple of days ago.

She was going through six month's worth of records trying to get everything together. Has to be done this year.

I told her that she deserves an extra bonus.

The one that Shar and Thelma sent isn't showing there, DanaWV.
But, lo---I do have a small one that my BFF sent the last time I was in treatment....about 4" tall, and called the Angel of Healing. It has the metallic wings and she's holding a bird.
Didn't realize it was the same artist until I took it off the shelf and looked closely.

Wow I finally brought the computer and myself to the couch and missed the visit! I should be all set to stay here for the duration of the evening.
I spent a couple of hours at school and now I am ready to do nothing for the last couple of days! The biggest part of my time was scrubbing desks and rearranging.

wvgal_dana said...

Does the one that Sharon and Thelma sent have the angel wings?

hedgie said...

Here's the one S & T sent:
Healing Grace

She's about 8-9" tall.

Thanks for the eagle report.

LYNN is with appetite and that sounds good...incoming weather does not sound too good though.

It is 43 degrees out there !!! I can not believe this is the middle of winter and I felt overdressed today. The snow is going and the super melt is not causing ice formation and I did not use my ice grippers today.Life is very good and I feel a sense of gratitude and wellness and so I count my blessings and know all is indeed well. THANK YOU EVER O VERY MUCH FOR BEING MY FRIENDS. It is part of where the wellness is coming from...I ate a good breakfast so will wait a few hours longer before I do lunch and this way it would be lunch and supper combined...it worked well for me yesterday when I did that...

A WONDERFUL Yoga practice and life is truly full of blessings....PRAISES TO THE LORD, O DEAR GOD PRAISES TO THEE MY LORD...
