Good evening my eagle family. I am still feeling crappy but did make it to a meeting tonight.

I am sad to report that Becky has taken Chris back - AGAIN! Been fighting this for 19 years now and the end is always the same! ARRGH!!!

Lolly said...

Sharon, sorry you are feeling so bad.

Glad I was warned about the split...i would have been lost.

SHARON, Sorry on not feeling well and on Becky's decision to take Chris back. It must be a worry to you... Prayers.

I saw that FedEx thing on the news, Hoda. Bet that guy didn't have a job the next day!

hedgie said...

Oh, Sharon.....that really sucks. Not smart on Becky's part.....and surely not good for the kids.
She needs counseling at a women's shelter.
Sorry, too, that you still feel bad. Get better fast!

Liesl is bedded down for the night. I'm heading for the tub. BBIALW.

Hi,

Checking in. I have been thinking of you, Hoda, after seeing the news reports about what is happening to women in Egypt. How awful. I have not read very far back today, so I do not know if this has been discussed.

It is amazing that a person should get so busy after retirement, but that is what seems to have happened to me recently. I have spent a lot of time getting ready for Christmas the past few days, but I am not finished.

An amazing number of things happen around here.

I was amused by Susan yesterday. She came down for the evening and she and I went to Hunter's school and picked him up.

Hunter came in, turned on the TV to cartoons, then left the room with cartoons playing. He went downstairs to play video games and the doorbell rang. Kids looking for Hunter.

By 4:00 PM, Luna began barking and the cats began meowing. They were reminding us that it was only an hour until dinnertime.

The doorbell rang again. Susan answered and there were two little girls who wanted to tell us that Hunter and his friends were calling them brats.

Susan promised the girls that we would talk to the boys, and when we did, they confirmed that the girls were, indeed, being brats. Hmm, okay, maybe they all were being brats.

Poor Susan had been trying to take a nap. She decided that my house is not quiet enough for napping.

Hoda said...

SHIRLEY...awesome story of your household...I love it that the little girls rang the door bell to complain and that they knew they would be heard.

The situation in Egypt will continue to deteriorate...I am concerned but I am not surprised. The elections end around the middle of March and then we will see how all these demonstrators deal with the rule of the Moslem Brotherhood...I think it is partly orchestrated and partly penned up emotions that have no where else to go...All I can do is pray that peace return to the land of my birth.

stronghunter said...

Prayers for Bev and her family. I hope recoveries will be rapid.

stronghunter said...

Sharon, sorry to read that you are not feeling well, and that things are so complicated for Becky. Prayers.

stronghunter said...

Your thinking about the situation sounds very intelligent, Hoda.

One of the things I sometimes discussed with my students was the way revolution brings change, but so often not the freedom that some of the participants seek. The events in A Tale of Two Cities illustrate this concept.

I am so happy that you are not in Egypt.

hedgie said...

Thanks, Wanda! I may very well come spend some time. I know that I won't be in Knutson's office for 2 1/2 hrs!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! I'll probably see you around 2:15!

hedgie said...

Oh, dear.....poor Mrs. Riffe. Prayers for her and Bilton and the rest of the Riffe clan. Thanks for bringing that over, Jo. I hadn't been back to FB for a while.

Shirley, what a life you lead! Who would have thought you would have to be supervising the neighborhood kids and dealing with their squabbles! Guess Susan won't plan on nay more naps at Mom's!

hedgie said...

Loretta, I'm going to do the same thing with the oven. Don't want to deal with the fumes of the cleaner OR the self-clean odor of the upper oven. Never understood why one is self-clean and the other isn't!

stronghunter said...

Bedtime here, too. But Hunter and I can sleep in tomorrow.

hedgie said...

I think it's time for a couple of cookies before I turn in.
I will see all y'all in the morning. Peaceful sleep wishes for you all. I hope I get it, too, but nerves are on edge. First chemo pills in the AM. :(

stronghunter said...

A couple of years ago, I would not have thought I would be supervising neighborhood kids and trying to settle squabbles. However, I got into this and I would rather be on top of what is happening, which is more likely if I know the kids and encourage them to talk to me.

I hate to think what is going to happen when we put the basketball goal out there.

I did nix the idea of a half-pipe, though. I do not want to be held responsible for broken bones.

stronghunter said...

Cookies. A good idea. And some milk. I will see you tomorrow. Rest well, everyone.

Hi, Everyone,
Getting here kind of late again.

Kay, you asked earlier whether I have company coming. No, not this year. Just hope to reverse the effects of over 2 years of school, when I had to choose homework and studying over a clean, neat house.
Hope it eventually looks more like it should.

Lynn, thanks for sharing the video of the 1-winged eagle. It did my heart good. It's obvious that the eagle was enjoying soaring again!

Shirley, prayers for your teammate Joan, in the hospital.

Hi, Red! Fantastic that you're doing so much better! It's great you're getting by on fewer meds, too. Hope you & Diane have a wonderful Christmas. God bless!

Sharon, prayers that you will be all better, very soon! Prayers, too, for the Becky & Chris situation. Sorry to hear about that! Oh, my--prayers galore for Granny Riffe and for Bilton!

Lynn, glad you found your earbuds. Bet they'll be coming in handy. Will be praying for you and thinking of you tomorrow. Love you! (((HUGS)))!!!!

Well, think I'll call it a day. Making sure the porch light is on. Judie, thanks for setting the night light! Enabling both security systems. Sleep well, everyone. God bless, and goodnight.
Love all of you! :o]

Okie Dokie, LYNN...we will see you sometime after 2pm:)

Soup Kitchen was sooo busy this evening. We had 62 guests for dinner, in the Clothes Closet and for free bags of food.
We had plenty steak, but ran out of rice...takes too long to cook the rice, so we substituted with noodles. No one complained:)
We have a woman who has been coming to the SK since the very beginning, with her daughter and very young grandson (about 12-14mo.) Well, the daughter took off with a man, not the child's father, and left the baby to be raised by the grandmother! Fortunately, we had diapers and wipes to give her and she is eligible for the free food. She couldn't carry the food and the baby, so one of our helpers took her home. I will be looking for clothing for the baby...he is a beautiful little fella with big blue eyes:)

GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL

Costume Lady said...

I must ask DIANN: how are you feeling now? Are you still sleeping in your chair? Take care of yourself♥

MARGY, hoping you come back in and read this...
A young mother came into the SK last evening and signed up for the Free Food and then came back to the closet as I was straightening up. She told me she had a son with major disabilities and needed clothes for him, desperately. Well, it just so happened that he wore size 10-12, James donated clothes size! She took that cute Camo coat, PJ's, and all pants that weren't blue jeans. She had a trash bag full of items for him and was so happy with her FIND, that she hugged me and said she couldn't believe everything was free:) I'm thinking that, if she has a son with disabilities, she should be elegible for a lot of help. Don't know the whole story, but she is coming back next time.
Anyway, I was so happy that she was able to use James donated clothes. THANK YOU, MARGY♥
