I did my fair share of skinny dipping in our pools! Would never do it now!!!
Beach was.......awful. TOO hot---we sat by the sound for a few minutes of nice breeze in the shade. We stood on the oceanside shore for maybe 10 minutes before the heat got to be too much. Of course, we weren't there to have fun!
We came away with only one possibility......we are hashing it over. It is on the mainland, about 1-2 miles from the bridge over to Kitty Hawk/Nags Head.....no water frontage....but the community does have it's own park and boat ramp on the Currituck Sound---about 1 block from the house......price is right IF they would accept the amount that WE (and our realtor) think is sufficient. Only a little work needed--a water treatment system, and we need Bathfitter for the tub aqnd showerstall----totally ruined by the water!
We have a new list of places in an area called Old Nags Head Cove to check out.....MTBR.
Judie.....West Springfield High also had a group in America's Got Talent! I was on the phone and missed whether they made it through to the semi-finals.
Interesting video on she lays ( 1 ) one egg at a time. That will take a while for 100 to be laid.

West Springfield High did not get the vote the girl that danced did. But Susan couldn't take it ....she felt they deserved to be there. So she said she is using her "on I can't think of what vote it is called". Any how they get to come back and perform with the others ones and I think one group is picked then.
We DID have some excellent food!
A great hot crab dip, a Key Lime Margarita made with CREAM in a restaurant on the Intracoastal Waterway with an $11M yacht moored in front of us!!!! A wonderful Delmonico steak and the best garlic mashed taters (REAL) that I've ever had! Also the coolest twist on hash browns for breakfast yesterday morning---topped with Colby cheese, sour cream and salsa!
Lolly, so sorry about the mess that Laurel was left. Maddening....great that you were such a big help.

Hedgie-Lynn this is not to be taken as me being a smart ass (forgive me for that word). I am just wondering you have said maybe in 5 years you will live down at OBX if you all get a house down there. I was just wondering - will that be good for you. Because now you have to have your daughters help to get groceries and other things. Will someone be staying with you down there at all times if in 5 years you decide to do that?

Yes Lolly, my little Mitzi is gone. I let her go to the Rainbow Bridge on Monday morning. On Monday early afternoon's bloog there is an explanation if you want to read.
Dana, laying eggs and eating is pretty much all the adult Monarchs have to do, as with most butterflies in the few weeks they live. Not only do they lay just on or 2 per plant to help predators from getting the eggs/caterpillars, but they do that also so that the cats will have food to grow. Take my word for it....they eat a LOT!
So everyone is having FB issues....glad to know it's not my computer. It's been STOOOOPID all night.
Gotta watch News & maybe a little more TV---(TH is day off & NO appts!!!!!!)

Jo, the old bridge is completely gone. We watched it deteriorate over the years until it became so unsafe and an eyesore so that it was finally torn down (what was left of it!)
Dana, actually it should be much easier at the shore---supposedly sea air is good for damaged lungs!
FB is "down" according to HuffingtonPost......no one can log in...???? I haven't had any trouble, but haven't done hardly anything there yet---and it will have to wait til tomorrow!
Judie, Liesl did quite well tonight! She wasn't mad at trainer Maxine!!
Dana...also---only time I need help with gorcieries is if I have a really BIG load, or if heat&humidity are bad, or wind is blowing in the cold weather! I manage alone much of the time!!

Well, I need to go rest my foot. It's much less painful--barely hurting most of the time now, but it is still pretty swollen, and a bruise or two are appearing. (Still don't know what's up with my foot x-ray, either!) May only be lurking tomorrow. Have to finish up my transcription and turn it in at school. Then I'm DONE!!!!! YAY!!!!!
Can't take much time to breathe until then, though. Know that you will all be in my prayers tomorrow!

Lynn, I hope you don't settle for a house because you are tired of looking. When you see one and it FEELS RIGHT, then, buy it! I just didn't hear any joy in your words as you described the house you all were looking at.
JUDYE, it sure does sound like your little sweetie has Thrush...does her tongue hurt? That can be cleared up pretty quickly. I wonder if they still use that ugly, purple medicine...if so, be careful, it stains badly!
JO, the Swinging Bridge was torn down many years ago. There is a car bridge that gets you from one side of the creek to the other.
LORI, the ladies that come to our Soup Kitchen, need anything and everything. All size clothing, they love toiletries, blue jeans, T-Shirts (men too).
Can't remember if I told you about cleaning out my toiletries (lotion, powder, lipstick, eyeshadow, nail polish, etc.) and there was nothing left by the end of the evening...two weeks ago.

LORETTA, heart surgery is such a major surgery, but has become so very sucessful. I'm sure Danny will be just fine, saying prayers for him anyway:)

Is anyone still here or about? I couldn't sleep again. Too much on my mind.
Saw my orthopedic doc today to discuss the pain in my groin and hips. According to the hip x-ray, I do have some calcification but don't need a replacement. Whew. I was worried about that.
BIL had 6 surgeries for his hip, endured an infection and they had to replace the replacement. from April 2010 until May 2011 he's been in constant pain. I think they're considering a law suit be- cause some problems arose.
Now my back is another story.... he showed me my back x-ray and my spine looks like a stretched S. Looks like a fusion may be in order but I have to wait to see a neurosurgeon and get an MRI.
Of course, everything is waiting approval of our insurance company.
I just want to get rid of the severe pain!! Had to ask for stronger pain meds from family doc.
Boy are they stingy giving scripts for them. I understand why, but he knows my condition and knows I don't abuse the narcotics.
Thanks for listening. Had no one to talk to about this with my mom and sister both gone and my dear friend has alzhimers and the neighbors work. Really don't want to discuss this with my kids either.
This is a great place to let off steam and air your worries.
I love you all so much. You have given me your friendship and I've learned so much from all of you about so many things.
Gonna stop before I cry a river.

LORETTA, JUDIE is right and having just gone through open heart surgery with my mother, it is quite amazing what they can do these days and how simple it seems to be for them. Of course, it's a lot easier to know that after you've been through it. Healing hugs and prayers for you and Danny.

DI, you just get on here and pour it all out any ol' time you need to. You'll always find someone who can relate to the kind of pain and angst you're going through as well as folks who are unequaled as far as prayer and results are concerned ! Sounds like you have good medical help and with them and the help of God, you will find the right solution. You know, I think we really, to some extent, have built in obsolescence and we're living well beyond it now days. Thank the Lord for the medical profession and the miracles they perform every day !
LORETTA, praying for one of those medical miracles for Danny ! As LORI says, there are many examples of people who've survived open heart surgery and are now living active lives. May Danny be counted along with her Mom, Nancy and a host of celebrity cases !!!!
LOL all the skinny dipping stories ! LORI, are you going to share on this topic ? I can only plead guilty to skinny dipping in my own hot tub, in an enclosed patio---I don't think that counts. It has to be out in the open where there is an element of risk !☺

JO, where is your place in Delaware ? I spent a few lovely days in Henlopen in July of 95'. Julie, Hugh and Seth lived in Bowie, MD and I went there to celebrate Seth's first birthday. We went over to the coast and gave a delighted baby his first look at an ocean and his first "taste" of salt water.

Got a late night e-mail from my doctor last night. My foot x-ray shows mild arthritis in the ball of my foot, and a small heel spur (from which I have NEVER felt even the tiniest twinge!) Now I'm wondering WHY I have a bruise a little bigger than a quarter on the side of the ball of my foot! Dr. Lynn, can gout cause bruises?
Diann, I'm mighty glad you don't need a hip replacement. Hope the doctors can figure out the best way to get you pain-free! You go ahead and vent whenever you feel like it! That's what we are all here for. We can take it--and prayers are our specialty! Praying right now that your pain will ease up so that you are REALLY COMFORTABLE.
Judie, I tend to agree with you about the bruise on my foot. Maybe Lynn can shed some light on the subject when she and Liesl check in today.

LOL---bet poor Dana can't run the risk of skinny dipping with 4 teenaged boys in the house!!!!
Not to worry---we are not rushing into anything with a house....frankly, that's how we've lost out a couple on a couple! We really do like the one place, and the 'hood---just don't like not being able to see the water year round! And, of course, we need a consensus from all 4 kids (heck with their spouses!) as to whether being a block from the water is acceptable to them!
Bill was just here to work on the new garage sensor light----he brought a new one, and sure enough had to replace it. Don't know if first one was defective or if I messed it up when the wires hit the door the first go round! But it works now!!
Liesl slept really well last night, and I did, too, but woke up with a bad stiff neck. Finally starting to limber up some.
Andy, never heard of gout causing bruising.....did you maybe massage it too hard trying to relieve your pain?? Good that the x-ray was negative for a fracture.....if heel spur hasn't hurt you, then you are very fortunate!!
