JUDYE, so glad Jordyn is responding well to meds and TLC ! It's always amazing to see how fast kids bounce back from such things ! Hope you're enjoying dinner with the family right now !

Hoda it has to be the storm there.

Live feed is perfectly fine here.

Hoda said...

THANKS V_GAL DANA...I am glad the feed is good at your end...I'll wait the storm out...

Hoda said...

"THANKS WV _GAL DANA" is what the last post should have read...somehow it did not come through...

Shortly after noon Julie, Seth and Malcolm picked me up and we headed to Highbanks Metro Park. It's acres and acres of trails and all the usual park amenties and is bounded on it's west side by the river that runs just a long block to the west of me. They all took a long walk and I took a shorter version, then relaxed to watch birds and people. Later, as we headed for the exit, Julie and I spotted an adult bald eagle soaring overhead. Soon we saw a ranger and pulled over for a chat. This is the second year for this pair--last year they fledged one chick and this year there are two that will take flight within the next week. The trail to the viewing platform is a little rough and she told us we'd not see a thing due to the full summer foliage. The good news is, they hope to have a live cam in place on this nest by mating season ! I'm tickled pink !

Kay said...

Oh, oh, didn't even see the split coming. Ouch !

JudyEddy said...

SHARON just know that we are thinking of you my friend went with the interferon when he had Hep C and it cured him I wish you all the luck I can send

hedgie said...

We're home.....dinners are done. Liesl appears to be okay. She had a soft dinner of mostly baby food, and I had ribs from the chuckwagon!
Between the lab work, anesthesia, antibiotics and pain meds, 4 teeth cost $150 and the microchip was another $50! I have spent SO much money on dogs in the past year....but I don't mind. They've all been worth it!

JudyEddy said...

My cam is fine but I just back home so that is the status here in Fl at the moment LM gonna get some stuff done while I can not use to being home on a Thursday nite

JudyEddy said...

I wonder why we haven't had sound in two days☻ ♥

Hoda said...

The storm here seems to have abated. I am glad live feed was OK in WVirginia and in Florida. I appreciate the feed back. It is OK now here too.

WELCOME HOME LIESL and MOM. hedgie/Lynn it is a lot of money you spent today but the beauty you have sharing your life is well worth it...

Kay said...

LYNN, I hear ya on the vet cost factor, but you're so right. They are well worth it, especially when young and getting all the little anomalies and bugs worked out. Bless her little green bean lovin' heart ! ♥♥♥♥

Kay said...

Umm, ribs from the Chuckwagon ! I haven't had dinner, but must check to see what I have in the freezer for a quick microwave fix. Something I can smother in Sweet Baby Ray's, so I can satisfy this strong craving you brought on, LYNN !♥☺

Kay said...

HODA, glad the feed is now okay for you. Now what we need are two bee-yu-tee-ful eagles paying a call !

Hoda said...

KAY and when they come, and if I have to leave for Dragon Boating, I hope you take as good notes as you did in the morning...I am not sure if we are actually going to paddle tonight, but the agreement is to go out there and make a collective decision. I will look forward to reading your excellent comprehensive notes. I enjoyed them this morning and I feel it was a real privilege to be there with you and Lori.

hedgie said...

Time for Jeopardy. BBIALW.

Kay said...

HODA, thanks ! I'm sure LORI will be pleased with your compliment, too. We just try to be wordy enough to help you all envision the scene, just in case, as with this morning, no one is taking pics. Hope they do go forward with the rowing this evening as I know you like the workout it provides !

Hard to tell margy...not full force autumn weather like it was but certainly getting ready to be autumn...it speaks for sunny weather Saturday and Sunday...that would be two days in a row...Keep your fingers crossed. We had a tremendous storm a little while ago and I am on my way to see if we are going to go paddling or not in a few minutes. If MISS BELLE shows up or if Truder returns please keep your eyes out for me and I will read your posts on my return...Thanks

hedgie said...

Sharon, missed saying that I am relieved that they found nothing else wrong and that your infusions can be resumed. And the B-12 is a breeze---no big deal at all!!!

JudyE--glad that Jordyn is responding quickly to her A/B's! Definitely no pool time for a while!

Hoda, JudyE was having trouble with the cam earlier today, too, I believe.

Oh, Kay, how wonderful that you all got to see the eagle!!!! Had Seth seen one before??? Please refresh my memory---what river is at Columbus??

hedgie said...

I know that you will keep tabs on the new cam progress and let us know when it's online!!!!

I was totally disgusted by what I saw in the waiting room at the vet.....the fattest bull dog and dalmation....fattest dogs I have ever seen in my life. THey both looked like they were ready to explode. They could hardly walk. I sure hope that the vet is reading them the riot act and has them on strict diets.

Kay said...

LYNN, yes, Seth, Julie and Hugh made it to the viewing platform before the leaves began to obscure the view--that was Spring of 2010. Can't remember why, but I was unable to go that day. We've all seen lots of pics of the family, but it's been real hard to see them for real. That's why a cam is such a grand idea !! The larger river running through Columbus is the Sciota, about 8 miles west of my place. The one near me is a bit more narrow, the Olentangy. It courses along from the north, flowing by Seth's H.S., right through the Ohio State campus and empties into the Sciota south of town. Then the "S" goes on down and spills into the mighty Ohio. I'm so pleased that this pair liked the area well enough to return and that they selected a spot on our end of town ! Last year there was a place to see them from the other side of the river, but on private property and no one is now allowed over there. There, too, once the leaves were out you couldn't see a thing. Except perhaps an adult scanning the river for food. A cam is really the only way we'll ever be able to enjoy them.

wvgal_dana said...

Kay that is great you seen an eagle soaring. Even neater that Highbanks Metro Park is going to put up a webcam. Keep us informed. Nice their 2nd year.

Great eagle comments about the nest. Just Truder huh?

Hedgie-Lynn you got your baby back.
hee hee Give her a tummy rub for me
please.♥♥

Hoda I haven't had sound all day on
the live feed. I don't think others
have either. I know your on your way to see if you all are going to paddle.

Margy is clipping tomato plants and bringing on more "maters" lol

Truder Returns

hedgie said...

EAGLE---it's Truder.

Kay said...

LYNN, I consider letting a dog get fat a form of animal cruelty with no regard for it's future health. In my building a young couple has, what was, an adorable Puggle when a pup, 18 months ago. Not long ago I ran into them out front and without thinking twice I said, OMG, she's so fat ! They nodded in agreement and we've not mentioned it since---she and Malcolm are in luuvv. Yesterday they told me she's on a diet, Adult Kibble Diet Food and I'm thinkin' there has to be something better than that, but at least she's on a diet.

Kay said...

That curved stick and the one above form a J, probably the closest he could come to a T for you know what !

hedgie said...

Does it look like there is a stick sticking straight up at noon?? Dangerous! I, to, have not had sound for several days.

Right you are, Kay....it is animal cruelty....pleasingly plump is one thing.....to be so fat that they can barely move---and probably the bull dog has trouble breathing----that is just SO dangerous.

Kay said...

MARGY, Oh for cute, twin beagles ! ♫♫Double your pleasure, Double your fun ! Double your money when day is done !♪♪

Judie said...

Hoda, no need to apologize. Just wish we could somehow balance the hot/cool differences.

OMG Kay! How exciting. Please, if you can stay current with the park people, let us know about the camera so we can share a terrific Ohio eagle adventure with you.

I really need to meet Kay. I am so laughing at her "green bean loving" and Sweet Baby Ray's.

Hi Lowreeda.

Hugs for Liesl. May she sleep quietly and painlessly through the night.

Yep, if I don't be makin my own, it's Sweet Baby Ray's. Speaking of which, the salmon was really good.

Missing the catch up on so many activities for everyone. So sorry. Not meant to offend. Just so many posts and so little time.

Speaking of offending, Mema Jo, your town made the local ABC7 news. What's going on with your water? Do you have a case of the dreaded brown water syndrome?

Going to put my feet up and watch some trial commentary.

wvgal_dana said...

Heading for recliner.

That is terrible they let their dogs get that over weight. I know Little Man was over weight. It was hard for Vet to get Ed to stop sharing his snacks with Little Man. Finally when he hurt his leg. The Vet got through to Ed. Vet became very happy his weight lose. Ed did a fine job.

JudyEddy said...

Boy when I mess up I mess up big time I was down loading the 2nd visit and ended up not having anything downloaded I hit back space and enter and it disappeared so I am re download all three

hedgie said...

Light just came on.

Margy, we had sprinkles on my way home from the 'ville, but nothing since. How much rain did you get? Sky was a bit spooky a little while ago---but blue clouds were showing.

magpie said...

Missed the flyover
can't tell about the straight up stick Lynn...

Truder did like I do sometimes, just walk away from the mess...
maybe the wind brought some of the mess in

really miss the sound!

I always used to love to go camping, had a little pop-up camper, then a pull along...
was the only way to REALLY get away from phones, beepers, scanners, sirens
Always enjoyed making a little home away from home
that was awhile back

Happy Trails Lolly and Jack and Family

Kay said...

Oh, yes ! I will certainly keep you informed as the cam plans proceed here. We stop in at the little museum almost every time out and will talk to staff regularly. We call the museum/offices, "the looking place" as that's what Seth called such venues when he was a little tyke. To this day he loves museums.

Of course, no eagle pair will take the place of Belle and her friend, but there is room in all our hearts for many nests !

Thank you, Margy!!!! Have really been busy today, watering pots, packing, etc. Had my do done! Then we were going to take Annie to "camp", but could not find her. Jack said he had let her outside. He used the leaf blower to scare her...no Annie. Then he ran the mower......no Annie. We were about to panic. BUT, finally I saw her sitting at the back door...she was inside!!!! Took Annie to camp. Bless her heart!

Read a little of the blog. I snorted and the read to Jack....how Margy was looking for money after dogs walked through the yard. Too funny!

Going to prepare dinner now BBL

You are so very right...
we are stuck in our hearts on the Sycamore Palace and especially Belle now...
what will happen in late autumn, then winter and spring, remains to be seen
But we surely have room in our hearts for many nests, and we all have our particular favorites from time to time ♥

Lolly, I did the same as you with my columbine seeds. Planted some directly in the ground and some in a large pot. Don't know what happened to the scattered ones...maybe froze out, but the one in the pot have done well and, as you know, bloomed this year (takes 2 years after sowing)
Dana, I emailed you about the planting of the seeds. Need your address to send purple ones. May wait til Lolly gets back to mail hers.

Evening, all!

No new thread yet!

Back from John and Ajay's...had a nice dinner!

Well, so far so good on my rescue dog application...they move pretty quick...have already called and talked to my references!

Gotta get some stuff done as I am going to leave for the beach right after work tomorrow, so have to pack the car, water plants, etc.

Will try to BBS!

paula eagleholic said...

OMG...guess my references were good! I have been approved! The dog I want to adopt will be there next week...he is enroute...more info as I get it..that's all I know for now!

Judie said...

Ah, the dreaded poison doughnut! Yes, that has been an ongoing problem for Interpol. My sources tell me it is very difficult to tell the difference between the real poison doughnut and and the red herring flavored poison doughnut. May James the Wise prevail and solve the case.

Judie said...

Well, my dear friends, the sandperson has arrived. The nightlight is on for anyone headed back the hallway, to the tub, up the stairs, coming in from Hunter's baseball game, or stumbling in from the West Coast. (speaking of West Coast, where is Jim?) Andy will be here soon to turn alarm systems on. Restful sleep for all, prayers for Tori.

Judie said...

On a final note: Paula, so excited for you. One doggie is going to be ever so blessed.

evening all...just popping in to say goodnight.

Glad Liesl is home and non the worse for wear! Lynn, not a bad price for what was done today, although I have to say that the microchip cost was a bit high.

Paula, so glad things are moving so quickly on the new poochie! Can't wait to hear more about him!

So,our hot tomato has gotten NINE cuttings of lettuce, ey?

We just took the dogs out...not so muggy, nice breeze, cooler and even MORE lightning bugs tonight putting on a fab show!

Need to get to bed. Had a pretty bad painful night last night and didn't get much sleep.

OH, on FB, on the vet page there are pics of the puppies!

Have a good night my friends, and prayers for you all. Hope I get some time to check in from work tomorrow!

hedgie said...

Oh, Paula, I am so excited for you! That is wonderful!! They work as fast as Reach Out Rescue did for me and Liesl!!! Are you getting a pup or an older dog?

Hoda said...

PAULA, congratulations on the new pooch...how awesome.Do tell about age and what names are you thinking and where is it coming in from? Isit being flown in, does this mean it is an older dog? How did you go about deciding which one to adopt? MOST EXCITING NEWS.

We had a good paddle and it was overcast and while we were exercising we almost cancelled because there was some rumbling from the skies...but decided to go out and it started to clear. I think I am getting better at this as I actually laughed and got in the spirit of competition between pods when we were doing the drills.

I see Truder returned and thanks for the notes.

paula eagleholic said...

I really don't know the history of the dog, and where he is coming from...they have a sanctuary there in Capon Bridge...I do know he was just neutered, so he may be at a vets now or a foster home. It's a male, just under a year old, and he's very easy going, and a little afraid of new situations and people, so I will need to have some patience and let him gain some confidence. As far as I know, I am first in line for him...I asked what day he was going to be arriving, haven't heard yet. May end up taking a day or half day off work to go see him, and if we fit, then I can bring him home that day.

Hi Gang!! Finally got my outside fun work done by 7PM, then when got on 'puter it had IMPORTANT updates, etc.
Haven't read everything, but see that Liesl is done w/dentist. Lynn will have to make me an appt., I refuse to call for an extraction of stump that doesn't bother me!
They'll have to catch me first!

Paula, how wonderful you're finding a dog!!It sounds young enough that it should do well, even if a little shy.
I see Lynne wrote it will be "take your dog to work day"!I'll have to take Binky! Altho, a cat, she has some dog action. She has just gone thru 2 stuffed mousies~~tore thru the covers & pulled out stuffing.Several months ago, she finished devouring Myki, the Mykinos stuffed donkey that came from Greece! Broke my heart.(field trip?? LOL) I have to trash them, as she eats some of the inside & then gets upset stomach. She also plays fetch, another doggy game!

hedgie said...

Lynne, very interesting that you got that call.....new eyes on the case? May well make the difference! I sure miss the TV show Cold Case. :(

News time--gonna go

I actually got on 'puter to dwnld a pic I got today, but never got to it. The big Daddy red-belly woody came to suet & one of the chicks followed.I had seen a few flying thru the yard today.Also--a good one--grackle kept chasing a crow back and forth in the sky!! Funny, they're both pests & are now pestering each other!
In case I don't return, prayers for Tori & Robyn and all else in need & Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)

Good evening,

Back from baseball. The season has ended for Hunter's team. They lost, 9-6. They came back from a start of 7-0, though.

Their team was in second place during the regular season.

Hunter is a little down tonight, but I think he will recover. They have to learn to take the losses along with the wins.

hedgie said...

Loretta, glad you had fun playing in the dirt!! Poor Myki.....Liesl pulled all of the stuffing out of her little doggy toy....I got the squeaker before she did! So now she runs around shaking the empty body!!! Funny to watch. Thankfully her big one is her bed buddy---fits her like a body pillow! She has not chewed it at all!

Christie says that Food Lion has my I/C on sale BOGO!!!! Heading to grossery tomorrow for sure!!

Oh, Shirley, give Hunter our condolences. It's a hard lesson, but something to be learned by all.
Will he still be on the same team next season? GOOD JOB, PADRES!!

Calling it a day from this corner of our world. See you sweet peeps tomorrow! Prayers for all, and heavy duty ones for Tori and Robyn.
Slight improvement today....she made a list of what she wants to eat when able! Quite extensive list, too!!
Goodnight.

Hunter will move up to an older group next baseball season. The same coach will be with them for football, though. Right now, Hunter says he does not want to play football, but that is his disappointment speaking. We will see what tomorrow brings. The football team was undefeated last season, as I recall.

stronghunter said...

Good to hear that Tori is doing better.

stronghunter said...

So Liesl is being fierce tonight.

Good night, Lynn.

We are loaded and ready to go. Last minute things seem to pile up!
Watered pots this evening. The yard looks so pretty. The rain really perked things up. However, I know I will have some sad looking areas when I return. Have a sprinkler system, but it does not take care of it all. I will adjust. I will adjust. I will adjust!☺

Paula, did see your news about the pup. That is so exciting and hope all goes well. Hope it is a good fit!!

I am heading to the shower and then to bed. I am tired and we are getting up about 4 to be on the road by 5. Groan!!

I will try to get on fb and the blog with my phone, but it is really iffy when you get in the mountains.

Nite all! See you in a little over a week. Due back Saturday, July 2. Take care and God bless.

Love you!

For those of you who do not have facebook, I have posted a new Trail Cam video on my Wild and Wonderful. Black cat has her 2 babies at the feeding station, just briefly:)

Have a wonderful trip, Lolly. We will certainly miss you, but know you will have a wonderful time with your family.

Lynn, guess I just noticed the new updates from friends on the right....duh, isn't that what the news feed is for? Kept looking there for birthdays...

Lolly, happy trails to you . . . have a wonderful vacation.

I am ready to call it a night. It was a long day. Hunter and I bought a new carpet shampooer, which I put together. I still need to figure out why it is not sucking up the dirty water.

It is very quiet here now; I suspect I am the only one in the house still awake. Kathryn took her medicines awhile ago. Hunter was exhausted.

Sitting next to a bunch of wound-up boys caged together is an experience. They were getting wilder as the night grew later. It was kind of like being at the zoo next to the monkey enclosure.

stronghunter said...

See you tomorrow. God bless.

Finally found Manchester vet...I posted the link on my wall for those still looking on FB

Well, geesh I would if it would let me like the page!!

Ok, it finally did!

Got everything done, gotta get to bed....don't know when or if I'll get caught up here, so...

(((Hugs to all ♥)))

LOL, Shirley, they do get wound up in that dugout!! Sleep well, everyone!

Happy to see you have a lead on a new puppy, Paula.

Hi, Everyone,

Happy to see that Liesl is feeling fierce and none the worse for wear after the dental work today!

Paula, I'm thrilled that you will be able to adopt a Goldie so soon! That is going to be one blessed dog!

Lolly & Jack, have a WONDERFUL trip! Hope you are able to keep in touch fairly often. Can't wait to hear about your travels! Thank GOD that Annie the cat showed up, and you were able to take her to camp! Amazing how they know when something's up!

Haven't caught up completely on the blog, but am praying for everyone, especially those in need of healing. Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling both security systems. Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep. I will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

The story of my life - all caught up on the blog and time to get ready for work now!

HODA - we're on the opposite ends of the schedule...I'm the first one on before everyone gets here, and you're the last on. It would be great to have some more west coast people who hung out later. I enjoyed yesterday morning with you and KAY!

LOLLY - if you poke your head in this morning HAVE A WONDERFUL AND SAFE TRIP. We'll miss you.

KAY - pretty soon you'll have your own eagles nest close by, but remember we had you first! You'll never escape this bunch♥♥♥

PAULA - so happy the rescue is already hard at work finding you a dog!

ANDY - what happened with your investigation into your last job lead? Scratches for EMMA.

JUDIE - I bet you're a wicked CLUE player with all the stuff you know!

Did anyone ever play Mystery Date? Loved that game as a little girl. It was always such a squeal when you opened the little door in the middle of the board and the "bum" was there as your date. EEeeeeeeewwww!

LEISL & LYNN - Hoping you have a quiet day at home today with NO long list of chores.

Gotta run. Haven't even left the house yet and I'm feeling like I'm running behind. Lots to do at work, but, IT'S RED FRIDAY.

Kay said...

G♥♥D M♥rning bL♥RI ! Nest still very dark, but we're ready for you dear eagles.

PAULA, Happy news about the dog ! You're wise to welcome him when the scent of Nugz still lingers in your home, yard, car and beach place. I think he'll find that comforting and will somehow realize he's landed where someone really likes dogs !

Lori O. said...

Is it raining at the nest? Can't tell, but it's windy and the picture is fuzzy at times. If so, we may not see the birds this morning.
