Morning all:) Chilly start, 53° here now. today's nest weather-Partly sunny. Scattered showers...mainly in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. North winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent. Have a great day everybody!
It was fun to sleep in this morning. I just ate another third of the crepe I got yesterday. When Kathryn got home last night, she wanted to know what the "big lump" in the bowl in the refrigerator was. Well, I will enjoy eating the rest of the big lump probably tomorrow.
LYNN - that's great! I was hoping we would get to see four eaglets together. That's wonderful news!

We had another morning without KAY & DANA MO. BELLE and TRUDER both stopped by for a visit this morning. Best way to start a day!
LOLLY - I'm so sorry I didn't RSVP for SHIRLEY's party last night. No one should be subjected to my cooking, so I usually volunteer to bring the soda or chips. You'll have to give me virtual hostess lessons. :)
SHIRLEY - hope you're not hung over on those margaritas! lol. Happy FIRST DAY of retirement! Like WANDA, curious to know your feelings on it.
Almost forgot - the baby robin in the nest outside my kitchen fell out of the nest twice yesterday! I've never held a baby robin before and it was sooo cute. The poor parents were going crazy. After the second fall I decided to just leave the ladder out in the yard instead of putting it away, and good news, he hasn't fallen again. :) Freddy, my "baby" cat, the only one I got as a kitten, had to spend the night in the house because, well you know, cats and birds. Just so glad that baby robin in okay.
Its Flag Day once again. It sort of took on added meaning back in 2006. Today though even as wonderful as it is to remember that day I think about and know so much more about all that happens before an eagle can actually leave that nest. Our National Symbol. Lessons learned indeed over the years now. America struggles much like our Spunky struggled. America can learn so much from its own National Symbol. Good thing we actually managed to change some ways and still enjoy this awesome bird. What else do we need to change in America. Its worth some reflection on Flag Day

YW MeMa Jo I love to go back and watch that video too. Work days are going well. I go in again on Thurs. First Staff Meeting in about 18 months. It will be good to see everyone at once again though and hopefully I will know enough about staffing issues with our gals to give some good input. Its our Case Manager who is on vacation. I am trying to keep the ship afloat while she is gone LOL. We didn't sink but may have taken on a little water :-). Dex loves to be there. It is great to see how he still responds to various sounds etc in the building. He knows when its time to greet someone coming in from outside verses coming in from one of the in house units. Amazes me that he still remembers.
I can't fly my flag today its cold and rainy. My air is off too. LOTS of rain headed our way unfortunately.
Catching up slowly.....not knowing if anyone has answered questions or not.....but before it splits on me, will say that: Steve lives down in Middleburg,VA---not near nest; isn't DanaMo on her mission this week? Glad that JudyE and Lori got to see the birds at home!

Nothing except deer---and now that I'm out of corn, NOTHING! Turned it off until SIL can come dump the 100#'s in my truck into the feeder.

Yes Hedgie The video was made on the first Anniversary of Spunky's fledge. It says that on the Show More under the video. It took a whole year to make that video LOL 2006 has many of its own though in bits and pieces.

We have Soup Kitchen AND Bible School today. SK ends at 6:30 and BS begins at 6:30, have to do some scrambling to pull it all together! Also, we sign our guests up today for FREE food to take home! I'm so very excited and happy to be able to do this. The government has given us permission to do this and the Health Department inspected us and the lady said she was very impressed with our facility:)
