LORI You won't believe how I do the video I just set up my camera on a tripod and record it from my camera and download it that way Paula has a program that she uses It called SNAGIT I googled it but haven't downloaded it yet I am always afraid to download new stuff so I just use my camera there are several snagit listed the FREE on is the one I was going to down load there are several to select not for sure which Paula has

Oofta ! I just knocked over a glass of water---no where near the puter, but half of it spilled onto my ancient Texas I. calculator---hope it survives. So glad Seth was not here to witness that as I won't allow him to take glasses without lids beyond the kitchen ! Bad Grandmother.
Since "upgrading" to IE-8 I've not been able to get video at the Goshawk nest.:( Last night I read their warning: For video feed, Windows Media Player is required. So, I downloaded it, but still no go. Any ideas, Early Bird Buds ?

then try it again..if it is battery operated
The nest just went to 16:18 before timing out. No rhyme or reason to that function since the cam came back.
And here I thought you were so hi-tech, JUDYE! That's funny to record it from your video cam off the monitor! Great idea since it works for you. Genius!

What do you have planned for the day?
I want to go out now and water pots and gardens, but hoping we get some rain. My grass looks like HE _ _ ! I won't even try watering that. It's really weeds anyway. You just can tell so much when it's green and mowed. That's something I miss about California - having a nice green lawn and sprinklers, though it's not very GREEN to have that anymore.
I'll pass along all your nice posts about KATE saving LUCKY the bulldog. They think he is only 8 months. Definitely getting him out of that shelter and to a vet saved his life twice. I post some bathing pics of him and more vulture pics this weekend.

Strong wind at the nest. Wouldn't be surprised if some of our rolling thunderstorms are moving in on that area. The last one went through here early this morning. Forecast calls for more today, but clearing by tomorrow and expecting a gorgeos weather week coming up---main thing is a drop in humidity. The city is beginning it's Mosquito spraying Tuesday, way ahead of the norm. I think we're just looking at a changing weather pattern. As I recall winter arrived a month early last Fall, overstayed it's welcome and now Summer arrived a month early.
Hoping and praying that Nugz is much much better today, and that Paula has a great Beach Week-end

OMG just saw the prettiest juvie here...came from the right and landed in the tree for a few minutes....then took off back to the right....then came flying back right in front of the house...was being chased by 2 seagulls...looked liked a fledgling juvie....was large and had juvie coloring underneath....just watched in awe...

Nugz seems a likttle better this morning...upped his prednisone a bit....vet says just give him whatever dosage makes him comfortable
I see Margy reported the goshawk nest was up....Kay if you just did IE* you may need to check settings to make sure it is using wmp as the default...I use that at home but not on my phone so can't help much on that today

Black Stork Cam (LES) is a Lesser Spotted Eagle this year (nest takeover!) I csn't remember which of the nests really has black stork this year---and at the moment I can't get any of them to play except the Lesser spotted---just keep trying all of them. Have never seen anything on their bear cam!

Yesterday when I left to go to Lowes. I was driving on Rt. 901 not too far from home. Sitting on this fence post was a very LARGE bird. I slowed down and got to see yes Lori and Megan, "A BLACK VULTURE". They are not ugly like the turkey vultures.
Now I am looking for live webcam of black vultures. lol
Cuckoo birds in the background at the Lesser Spotted Eagle nest!!! Funny!!! Don't think I've ever heard them outside of a clock before!!!

Where on 901 did you see the black vulture?
Lynn it was past the pig farm on the right. Next to that is the open field. He was sitting on the fence post there. Watching the field. I thought it was pretty neat. Since Lori and Megan had been talking about them. Then I got to see one. They aren't ugly like the Turkey Vulture.
Now let me ask a question. Flying in the sky. How do you tell a juvie eagle from a black turkey vulture???? Information I got:"a black vulture only lives 5 years
over 20 years in captivity. •Black
Vultures can be distinguished from
Turkey Vultures by white patches near their wing tips and by noting that their wings are held flat in flight".
So how would you know whether it is a black vulture or a juvie eaglet-eagle???
