I forgot to put the pic on the blob of the other eagle nest across the bay. I've put that picture in, but don't make a special trip back to see it cause you really can't tell what it is! We did see the eagle in THAT nest through the binos, though!

Dear Dana, So sorry for your loss of Little Man, but you did the right thing & now he & Ed are happy.
Paula, I didn't really read about Boo, but now I know he's over Rainbow Bridge w/ Little Man. So sorry for you too.
I always thought that we named Hidey that because most of the time an adult was standing in front of him & he was "hidden".
My first year was the three. Never to forget the oldest, Pecking Pearl. LOL Then we had Middy (?) and Tiny. (?) So much fun to watch the interaction of the three. Two will be a new experience.
I think we called him Hidey because for the longest time we could not see him. The egg cup was very deep and the parents were always in the way.
Wow, this is my 4th year! My how time flies when you are having fun!
Yep, Lolly, they kept Hidey well hidden for the longest time. His fellow egglets were non-viable......and I still stick to the theory that it WAS because of the fear that the gunshots put into Belle.
Shirley, what is the problem with Luna's eye???
FYI---the spelling of Ric(k) is one of those funny things......at work it was always spelled with a k; he signed it with a k. Now his wife and daughter write it without the k!

Luna lost her right eye to hereditary glaucoma. The doctor said that the other eye would also develop the same problem and provided her medication (pills) and a prescription (eye drops) to use in an emergency situation.
Tonight, Luna developed a very dilated pupil and was acting strangely (walking along the wall) and Kathryn called the doctor and used the medications. Luna's eye looks better now. We do not know if she will lose this eye. Doing what we can.
The medication is causing the eye to be much less dilated already. Kathryn has kept a close watch on Luna's eye ever since she had the previous problems.
That's a shame, Shirley. How old is Luna? Hope the meds work and the eye can be saved.
Luna is almost 6 years old. We tried to find the breeders in Ohio to tell them about the problem, but haven't been able to connect with them.
that's a shame Shirley, but you know what? Dogs seem to do really well, even if totally blind!
I think I'm heading to shower and bed. Got myself a cold and sore throat but I don't feel too bad. Just HATE not being able to breath through my nose!

Forgot to tell y'all....I got a dozen long stem red roses this evening from my Valentine. They certainly are pretty.

I guess I will bake my Valentine something nice tomorrow. We are having a special dinner, vooking Veal Saltimbocca and having wine. Yep, going off the diet for Valentines.
We do not go out on Valentines. Do not like the crowds or the set menu on Valentines.

Lolly, so nice you got roses! I know most gals love getting red roses! I personally have never been much on red roses. There are SO many other beautiful rose colors, and so many other beautiful flowers in general. And I think it's just sinful how the wholesalers and retails REALLY jack up the prices of them for V'day. Guys want to do a wonderful thing for their ladies and pay so much more on the holiday.

No, I don't Lynn, sure wish I had thought about that while I was a Wallyworld today. I'm slamming water, taking Tylenol and Aleve and Mucinex and my vitamins (not all at once!). Trying to stay on top of it.

No the roses are not an annual thing. Also, they were not delivered by the florist. They were handed to me by my valentine with a kiss.♥♥♥ He got them from the florist at the grocery store.

Jim got his b-day present today. His birthday is not until later this month but since his visit to VA he's wanted a new cell phone... so that's what he got for himself and me. The phones were free but had to take a 2 yr. plan. Now have to learn how to use them. Droids; whatever that means.

Facebook did not show copyright, and has added a Download High Resolution to the way they show our photos. I don't mean to be selfish but I really don't want anyone and everyone to have access to all of my favorites. So YEP I removed it when I couldn't see the copyright and saw the new download option.

Dana, I am so very sorry that Little Man has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but I am sure that he is now with Ed, happy to no longer be in pain, and that they both will be watching over you. Prayers for your grieving heart to mend! ((HUGS)), too. Sorry that Aunt Anna Mae has passed, too. Prayers for the whole family.

well, between the very dark nest and the herky jerky motion of the night feed...I can't tell if she's tucked in or not, but she's pretty still. Head at 12 tail at 6. The wind is really howling again there. Oh wait, she is up and moving....now her head is at 6 and tail at 12! I can see she is looking around. Moved a little more, head at 7 now. Can't tell if she is down or standing. So frustrating! Think she is still now...

Mostly sunny and breezy. Highs in the upper 50s. West winds 15 to 25 mph. Gusts up to 50 mph this afternoon.

The part about the Lord taketh and giveth. Saturday I visited with my nephew and his wife Craig and Darlene. Their one son his wife divorced him for one reason. He was tested and they said, "it would be like hitting the lottery for you son". Well he is now with someone different----HE HIT THE LOTTERY---His girlfriend is pregrant!!! They had a picture to show me it is like a little peanut lol.being sad then turned to such HAPPINESS....a little peanut will be born for them. WOW GOD IS GOOD!!

Knowing that eagles' nest can weigh hundreds of pound, even thousands, isn't it astounding that that tree is still holding the weight after all these years!?!?

I think healthy nest trees strengthen and buttress the limbs, which are bearing the nest's weight, as the nest grows.
I think this one has always swayed in the wind, and I just looked at the Weather Channel. The gusts could be up to 25 mph.

OMG Loweeda! That was fabulous! Thanks! And, did you hear that sound. We will get a little of that this year, but certainly not like that. He/she was certainly tiny but was very successful at growing up! He is probably a beautiful eagle now, maybe starting to get a "bald" head?
Time for me to start my day. Need to eat a bite of breakfast, dry my hair, walk and do a little housework. This afternoon plan to bake something for my valentine. Maybe a lemon meringue pie or choc pie....hmmmm?

I'm here! Haven't read back yet. Did see that there were still only two eggs earlier.
The gal was here for almost 2 1/2 hrs.....know that I only paid for one......wonder if I'll get a bill?
Mai is pooped...and sound asleep.
She did quite well, but she did see some of the aggressiveness. Gave me some good counter-measures to use......it's mostly all about distraction (with treats) and not letting her see any fear or frustration on my part.
But now I need to vacuum----her treats were practically crumbs---and canned chicken---and Mai is not a good crumber yet! Sure don't want stuff ground into the carpet!

I had a nice surprise.....while I was in the abthroom this AM, I kept hearing this repetitive tapping, and Mai starting barking. I thought it was a stupid woodpecker on the house....went to open door to go out to shoo him away, and there stood Carolyn with a Valentine card for me!!! Sweet daughter!

Today, I placed my first order with the MOUNTAINEER FOOD BANK for the Soup Kitchen! We are so excited that we can get so much for little or nothing. This is a blessing from above for so many people.
I have 4 promises of clothing from cleaned out closets for our CLOTHES CLOSET. One church goer said he has two 55 gal garbage bags full of clothes, many are brand new with tags still on...he promised to put them on hangers for us (I hope they are not wrinkled).
Lynn, so glad she saw some of the agressiveness. Have been thinking of you all morning and wondering how it was going. Certainly hope that her suggestions work!
I am baking for Jack. Decided to do more brownies for him. It is easier for me to turn away from brownies than a pie that I was considering.
He is out working in the yard and I am going to join him shortly. It is up to 67!☺
And, the nest is rocking and rolling in the wind.
