I was out cutting down the forest of saplings. I managed to cut down about 200 today, then the rain started. I'm not getting wet, but Belle has no choice...

Costume Lady said...

Hi, Donnie, do you have any new photos for us?

Donnie said...

I will be around more now that there is more to watch. I have a new touch screen Gateway. The screen has such great colors. Everything looks so bright and clear. The nest on full screen is really good to look at.... Editing my photos is even fun again.

Donnie said...

It's been a bad winter. It's time to get things going again.

WV sUSAn said...

Mits -- Thanks for checking w Lisa at BW on the cams. Even 45 second intervals would be nice. Thanks again.

PS -- We are a spoiled lot, aren't we? lol

Mits said...

yes, we are cam divas:)

Lynne2 said...

woo hoo Donnie watch out for that Farmville...it's positively addicting!

Diann, I have the same problem with the cams!

Wanda....10 other states are filing suit collectively, as is Virginia but not with the other 10 last I heard. And yes, the bill would require by 2014 that all are required to have health insurance. It's pretty complicated, but not ALL bad (the new law, that is). It certainly has created a lot of passionate response on both sides, that's for sure! Which, in itself I think is good because SOMETHING has to be done. I pray it will work out.

I just saw a Cooper's Hawk try to grab a dove feeding on the ground with it's mate. They took off and went in 2 different directions, confusing the hawk! Pretty cool to see!

OK, going to call the shelter about the little dog now....

Lolly said...

Just finished my 2 miles of walking. Did I tell you that last week Laurel and the boys excercised with me. Jacob pooped out about 2/3 of the way through. Thought he did great. Smart alec Joseph did the whole thing, but practically running the whole time. He built up a sweat! Wish I was skinning and had 9 year old energy!

Hornby still has just one egg. This evening will be three whole days since the first one was laid. Wonder if they are going to have just one???

I am shutting down and heading outside. It is 72 and the sun is beckoning to me.

BBL Eagle fans! (While working out I also watch our hawks and listen to them call. Love it!)

Lolly said...

Make that skinny!!!

magpie said...

This is pretty darn cute:
I had closed down the blog site and the Still Cam for awhile and opened back up to this:
Eagle Cam Daily Page: Flying Eagle turned into little Eaglets

Up Close and Personal!

Well Thanks Steve !

Train will be opening for Bon Jovi on May 26 and will be singing the first song ever in the New Meadowlands Stadium!!!! Yay!

magpie said...

TRAIN? You mean THIS BIG THING in the Meadowlands ??

Oh, I guess you mean Pat and HIS train ! ☺

floralgirl said...

Anybody else lose the cam sound?

paula eagleholic said...

OK, I got it now Margy, I had to refresh the page..they changed the top pic from the eagle to the baby eaglets.

Lynne2 said...

Donnie, Miss Molly is SOOOOO cute!!! How old is she? Hey, if you want another neighbor for Farmville I'm going to send a friend request to you and then you can friend me if you like.

I called the shelter and no one has come for poor little dog. Tomorrow is her last day, although a rescue of some sort is coming today to look for adoptables to save. I have called the cocker rescue back to let them know. Hopefully we can get her out!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Sure did lose the sound Megan! :(

Lynne2 said...

yes Megan, my sound has gone bye bye

paula eagleholic said...

Oh Sorry, I forgot to post that they are working on the cam sound this afternoon...it may be off thru tonight as well, and should be back on in the morning....My Bad!

floralgirl said...

well that explains it, thanks.

Mits said...

osprey back at BWO

paula eagleholic said...

This was the message I was to pass along...

They need to do some maintenance on the cam audio later today, will likely take the sound down overnight, but back on in the AM and that should do it.

Mits said...

ok Paula, penalty box for you:)

paula eagleholic said...

Palmer viewing time! I don't see the old egg...

magpie said...

Well you have good credit with us Paula !
with all your updates...

And it is no doubt part of the perfecting process...

At least we won't hear noisy winds for a few hours ☺

Holy Smokes that bobblehead ! ☺

Lynne2 said...

I LOVE THAT BABY!!!!

Thanks for the update Paula. I have herky jerky now too. But this too shall pass, and I sure got a lot of good looks today!

Costume Lady said...

All my grandchildren have exercised with me...none of them could keep up except for Dustin. Could that be because there is a difference in him and them of 10 years and I am 10 years OLDER?? lol
I use 3-5 lb. hand weights (arthritis keeps me from using heaviet:(), Dustin always used the 1 lb. weights...now, he is lifting 75 lbs. at school. He hasn't been lifting for a long time, but I am concerned about stretch marks on his lower biceps. I think he started out too heavy. Other grandson has the stretchmarks too, so, what do I know??

Lynne2 said...

Wanda, I was wondering that as well so here is what I found

Lynne2 said...

weightlifting and stretch marks

oops!

WV sUSAn said...

Excellent article Lynne2. That sounds like solid info -- I would think less weight and more reps -- good fat burning and also allows the muscle tissue to grow more slowly -- less chance of stretch marks.

Lynne2 said...

It does make sense. I guess that their is no real harm in lifting higher amounts as long as the kids are being supervised as they would be at school, to make sure they don't hurt themselves.

magpie said...

I could sure say we have some color at the nest, looks like a little leftover mammal hemoglobin at about 5 o'clock...not sure what it WAS but guess Palmer doesn't care much !

magpie said...

You're a rockin' Grandma Wanda, you in the green shirt in the pictures from Friday night looked like one of the kids ! ☺

Lynne2 said...

I see BWO's word for HP is "BONDING"!

WV sUSAn said...

Nice talking with everybody this afternoon. Must run some errands. BBL

magpie said...

Hey WV sUSan, same from here...nice seeing you here these past few days...

before you go catch a view of Belle (I guess Belle) tenting with the Spring Rain at Shepherdstown

Costume Lady said...

Hey, Lynne and Susan...thanks for the weight-lifting info. I guess the young boys and men are in too big a hurry to build their muscles. Brandon, 23, has a pretty good build, and Dustin, 15, has always admired Brandon...so, I think the is over-doing it, trying to catch up. Love those two♥♥

magpie said...

afternoon snack time
do you think that could be an egg piece in the middle of the nest

Lori O. said...

Ah there he is!

Hi everyone.

paula eagleholic said...

Kinda looks like it Margy, it's not fluttering so it's not fluff.

Put on a message on the outdoor FB about the blog, group and Deb.

Back with a big fish!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Laying right in the middle of the nest...actually it's one of Lib's smaller catches, but kinda looks like a perch to me

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly - they do lay eggs 4 days apart...look at Belle this year! There is still hope for another Hornby egg!

Lori O. said...

Is anyone else having super slow connections today? I can't even get the nest to get that whirly thing that circles out of the middle.

Lori O. said...

Hi Paula - I was hoping to see a birth announcement on the sign in front of your work! :)

magpie said...

That's funny Lori!

Have you announced it on the Radio Station ☺

Lori O. said...

Hi Mags - not on the air, but I did send out an email with the link to friends and family.

magpie said...

Yeah, Lori...understand... I have been burning up the electronic lines doing the same!

Lori O. said...

This is only my second eaglet and I didn't catch Hidey until he was 3 days old. So it was really exciting this year to see the egg laying(s) and pray that the one egg hatched. Ta-da! Palmer!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I probably have 100 cowbirds, grackles and starlings in my yard.

Costume Lady said...

Sharon, get two lids and bang them together...it works!

Costume Lady said...

Outside, not in the house:)

PattiO said...

Afternoon everyone. I've got the cam running, and I did have sound last night - but now nothing? Does everyone else have sound? Unless it's just really, really quiet there! :)

Mema Jo said...

Well it finally turned out to be a nasty chilly rainy day. BUT we have our own little Palmer to watch over and count our blessings.

Dinner time here but I will be back
shortly.

Mits said...

awww cute closeup of NBG eaglets

magpie said...

PattiO
not to worry, it is cam maintenance which should be concluded overnight, someone might have already posted this for you...

Mits said...

Patti, Paula, just reported up above, sound is down till tomorrow sometime, for some kind of maintenance.

PattiO said...

Whoops - scrolled through the posts too quick. Thank You! Just saw little Palmer get a few bites. Looks to be full! :)

ceil said...

The picture at NBG right now is fantastic. Up close and both parents feeding the three eaglets

floralgirl said...

Up off the nest cup for a big wing stretch.

And...feeding time is over, for now.

Lolly said...

Good evening! Just came in from working in the yard. This morning the cam started right up, tonight I had to try and try and finally got it up, but it is herky jerky!!

Lolly said...

Margy, I have the cam on favorites, so I just click on it and do not go to the NCTC home page. That was was a delight to see the picture they have on their. Those eyes are just precious.

Lolly said...

there not their Yikes!

Lolly said...

LOL I think my fingers have a mind of their own. lol

magpie said...

It was a big surprise wasn't it Lolly! I about fell off the chair...

Deb's picture of Liberty and Belle remains gloriously in place though ☺

magpie said...

I hope I'm making sense, that picture of Deb's is on the page where we see the new thread posted and then click on comments to start gabbing - you know, to the right of it

more or less threee clicks in for me when I start things up

The flying eagle picture someone else can confirm was by another photographer affilicated with FWS

I have been using my Eagle Mugs a lot these days ☺

Mema Jo said...

Horrors! I have started cleaning out a 2 drawer stuffed full file cabinet.
All reruns on TV - you have to do something to bide your evening hours.
It was either this or dresser drawers.
File cabinet is right next to my computer!

magpie said...

oh, have fun Jo, going to toss out a few trees are you...
you know, papers you don't need anymore

wow wind is picking up here at my place

floralgirl said...

Here too, wind is gusting 15 to 20 mph now.

Lynne2 said...

Cocker update: just spoke to the rescue and they will call the shelter in the morning. If the other rescue didn't take her, they will. YAY! I offered to go pick her up if they couldn't get one of their people free to do so tomorrow. So it looks like one way or the other, she'll be saved!

Mema Jo said...

Hornby site is busy tonight with viewers and chatters.

Mema Jo said...

Congratulations, Lynne
I know how you must feel! Good Going!

Mema Jo said...

Megan some of these 'trees' date back to 2002..... lol
I don't have too much paper since using internet for a lot of things

glo said...

Lynne Well I hope those pieces come together right tomorrow. I hope they call the shelter early in the morning. There is a little life counting on humans tomorrow. I get sad thinking about it. Guess I will drop it there.

sorry Lynn's movie was a Bust, that's always a disappointment, but glad the daughter time was special ☺

Mema Jo said...

Bad news for Ft St Vrain if all that snow comes in - they are due a hatch.

Shirley - Bet you feel great though having finished your assignments.
How did Macbeth go today.

stronghunter said...

Thanks for asking, Jo. I think Macbeth went well in Bl. 2 and for the first half of Bl. 3, which is probably about the best I can hope for. It's one reason I am tired. I did a lot of walking around and talking.

I will probably use the first segment of the movie tomorrow.

Mits said...

there goes Momma Owl:)

hedgie said...

Glad that you are back with us, Donnie. Hope you will make the next nest visit gathering.

Wind has been terrible this evening, so just as well we don't have sound!!

The tickets Christie got were for Remember Me which was NOT the Gere movie (his is Brooklyn's Finest). The one we went to had the guy from Twilight...and it was so weird and slow that I fell asleep. After an hour, we left and went to eat!

Margy, we drove by the mill bldg. Lots of damage, for sure. Gang, this was ANOTHER downtown arson fire here....about #7 in a month.

Mits said...

yikes a firebug on the loose????

Mema Jo said...

That is scary Lynn!
I don't like to hear about arson fires.
I sure hope they get a lead on the
person or persons doing this!

magpie said...

yeah big time, Mits, most if not all have been businesses, villain's MO is to put something flammable through a mail slot, but this last crime, was much more than that...damages are running well up over $100,000 by now
all in the city limits of Martinsburg
:(

Mema Jo said...

MN Bound Momma Owl is back already!
Usually it is really dark.

Mits said...

Jo, when you were at dinner, I was watching Molly the Owl feeding Max leftover rabbit from last night that McGee had brought in.

Mits said...

Hi everyone,

Long day with many, many very unhappy wannabe adults. Will be heading to visit with the sandman soon.

Sounds as if most everyone had a good day in spite of wind and some rain.

Very hopeful the cocker will be rescued, Lynne. I think we all feel badly about the circumstances.

Did check the nest and Lily/Hope and a few others. All quiet now. I keep missing the fun stuff.

Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others. I think I saw where Andy checked in so if you're around, please set our security alarm.

hedgie said...

I do, too, Jo!

Good update on Mason----a miracle that BCBS approved the chair!!!

hedgie said...

Sorry I don't know you, but Happy Birthday, Sandy Bowers.

I hope Jack gets home as scheduled - you may need to go visit Laurel or Michael. Once your a retired couple you don't expect these separations whether a couple days or more than a week.

Does anyone have a still picture of the Baby yet? I teach a Senior Citizens Sunday School Class and we have followed these eagles for r4 years. I was hoping to show them a picture of the Baby on Power Point this Sunday.

Can see something a bit bloody looking in our nest on still cam---along with lots of bright sunlight! Very windy still here, so not turning on live cam yet.

NEW THREAD IS UP !

Judy, click on my profile and send me an email and I will send you a pic. Or, of course, you can bring up the still cam and when Palmer is in sight, right click and Save!

Hello!

It's been a long long time since I've posted, but I do keep tabs on the nest each year. Just no time in my life right now....don't we all have that problem :-)

many thanks for the birthday cards and wishes.....wow! You have dragged me out of hiding!

I am enjoying little Palmer when I can. No live feed at work and only short stops at the still camera ....no allowed.

thanks again...gotta run!
