Glad Palmer is a little older and stronger now...a little dampness probably won't hurt him.

Bob has everything from Blue Birds to TV but no HP.........

Costume Lady said...

I had remarked the other day that the fish in the nest looked like a trout...Gene said he saw an eagle at the Rocky Marsh stream that same day, so it may have been a succulent trout:) Yummy!

Costume Lady said...

Oh, I have to go back and see Bob's photos...

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

WVU didn't play Duke in the regular season.

paula eagleholic said...

Parent snoozing with BWE chicks, doesn't look like any rain there yet.

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Sharon - you can tell I don't watch until the Big Four comes.

Lily has covered the camera lens but
you sure can hear what is going on!

Mema Jo said...

I'm just now tuning in to the MN Bound
Momma Owl.... Hope I'm not too late.

Judie said...

Ah, deet feet! Everywhere. Especially after garden is planted. Even have deet prints in the flower containers on the patio. They have NO SHAME.

Thanks for the info about raccoons, Lynn. Just thought perhaps a fox would be the more aggressive.

Stuffed pork chop? Hmmmm. Haven't done that for some years. Yummy idea!

Have a restful nap, Margie. Have a quiet shift.

Yep, Jo, Palmer is making serious progress with eye-beak coordination.

Raining here for about an hour. Need my warm blanket -- love the sound of rain at night.

Need to look at Bob's pictures.

paula eagleholic said...

A couple of sprinkles won't hurt, but Palmer does not need to get soaking wet. He still cannot regulate his own temperature.

Mema Jo, they don't play during the regular season.

Wow, didn't look at clock.Good evening everyone!
It's starting to rain hard here. Saw Lynn's tenting picture--saw on news may be heavy rain in Shenandoah area including Front Royal. Hope not the nest.
Just watched Life & so happy to see the beloved meerkats. That was the first forum I ever joined! Also joined Friends of the Kalahari where they do the research. They had trips if you wanted to intern for 2 weeks, but temps were from real cold at night to way in the hundreds during day & lots of walking and climbing fences to record observations. And of course poisonous snakes. Sounded like a great experience, but I hate heat & didn't think I could last 2 weeks. Plane is probably some big bucks, too.

Hi,

Back from dinner with Will and Rus. We went to a very nice restaurant and I have enough leftovers to have a very nice lunch or dinner tomorrow. Prime rib with loaded baked potato and a Cesar salad with a glass of Merlot.

Rus told me he had picked out a ring for his girl. I knew they were both serious. Good! She is very nice. She had told me that he is the only boyfriend that her friends have approved of.

He headed back up I-95 in all of this rain. Not a fun trip.

Paula, one of my students went to London a few years ago and brought me back a huge poster with a picture of the Globe. Now I need to find it. I have had to move so many times in the past few years that my posters and things are in the garage and the basement and God knows where. She went in the winter, so there were no productions at the outdoor theater. I had forgotten about that poster until you mentioned it.

Poor Belle. That position has to be tiring. It does amuse me when the eagles spend so much effort shielding the baby, then they sake water all over them. I guess they have to toughen up the little guys a bit, but I know that down can't be waterproof.

Finishing up some laundry before I call it a night. Did not expect to go out this evening, but it was very nice.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley your evening with your sons sounds special. So glad you got to go

NatureNut said...

Oh, I forgot to give condolences to WVU fans.
Mich St is left---they beat my SIL's TN team. Duke Always wins---wish they'd give some others a chance.

floralgirl said...

Belle is up, and some major wing flaps to shake off the rain.

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Hedgie.. 10:30 it is....

I only have an afternoon foot DR appointment tomorrow so I can stay up later than usual.

NatureNut said...

Gotta look at Bob's pics & I thought he just had cataract surgery!!?
Then I will not want to put my blurry eagle nest pics from yesterday on here!☺

floralgirl said...

Belle up again shaking off wings. Rain has stopped. Calling out. Palmer is talking too.

NatureNut said...

Belle just did some big sideways flaps & moved a piece of whale too. She must have been shaking off the raindrops & baby Palmer probably got a shower!!!

paula eagleholic said...

Might be a second hatch at TH

Mema Jo said...

Loretta - why are you giving condolences to WVU ?? I am getting confused again.

Mema Jo said...

TH Sitting as still as a statue.

Judie said...

Checked in and saw a big wing flap to shake of rain drops. Only saw a tiny movement from Palmer.

Jo, thank you for the link to Molly. I think you have a new interested fan. She's lovely.

Shirley, so glad you enjoyed dinner out and congratulations to Rus. So nice that you like your future DIL.

Thanks Lynn for the reminder about Cold Case time delay. Will likely fall asleep but would like to stay awake to watch.

Glad I'm not the only one confused about WV condolences. Haven't played final four yet.

Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Sleep well everyone. Andy, will you please set our alarm when you come in? Thanks.

Mema Jo said...

Good Night Judie - hope you can watch Cold Case. I am going to turn TV in bedroom on - hope I don't fall asleep.

paula eagleholic said...

Here's the TH video, you can see K82 moving the shell, but I can't see a chick.

2nd hatch for TH?

Mema Jo said...

Paula - I watched your video... Sure looked as thought she was moving/eating the egg shell.

Holler when you know if chick has arrived. Thanks

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley - that is certainly exciting news about Rus. Congrats!

Mema Jo said...

work time for me, hoping the county is in a peaceful and careful demeanor
xo Good Night, Good Morning, and prayers for all good things for everyone...

hedgie said...

I suspect that Loretta was offering condolences because Duke will beat WVU....

Love that Molly cam, Jo, but chat box is very distracting w/ such rapid motion.

Congrats to Rus and his lady, Shirley. Any idea when he's going to pop the question? Glad that you like her. I agree---think Rus was in the area because he wanted to share with you, and celebrate!

NatureNut said...

Just checked BBall tournament & it's MI State vs. Butler & WVU vs. Duke. I must have missed something w/someone pushing the button between Nascar, golf & everything in between!

Hello all! Wow...what a last few days. I am pooped a la pooped!!!

Took the boys home. Stopped at the hospital on the way. Joey was up in his chair and feeling better. We went on home and later Laurel called and said they were coming home. He was dismissed and they were home by 7. Getting out of the mini van was the hardest thing for him to do. He has now set up camp in his recliner. Will probably sleep there tonight.

I prepared dinner, saw that the boys were bathed and ready for bed. Laurel ran out to fill prescriptions for pain. Anyway, I then came on home!!!!! Only upsetting thing was Laurel walking out with me and then boo hooing. Said she had needed to do that all day. It has been a tough weekend for her. She is taking tomorrow off, but will return to school Tues. Her church is furnishing them meals for the next two weeks. I told her to accept it graciously. She has prepard many a meal for friends. It is hard to be the recepient. If all goes well, I will not be going back until Friday.

Mema Jo said...

Lolly - thank God for Recliners!
Glad you are safely home - alone
again! Restful sleep for you. Glad
Laurel was able to let go!

Hi, Eagle Gang,

Dropping in quickly to say goodnight.
Have been watching 'Life'--really interesting!

Must try to catch up on the blog. That may have to wait until morning.
Good to hear that Joey is home! Many prayers for a quick recovery.

Spent much of the afternoon cleaning up the patio after the near gale-force Santa Ana winds yesterday. Looks much better out there now!
Supposed to be cooler tomorrow--was unreasonable hot today.

Belle is the BEST mom! Glad Palmer weathered the storms.

Well, going to go try to get some sleep. Prayers being said for everyone. The night light is on, the porch light too, and the eye scanner's ready to go. Sleep well, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Pray that Margy has a good night at work.
God bless, and goodnight, all. Love you guys! :o]

Lolly said...

Well, just woke up! Lol I was not even feeling sleepy. I was watching the news and the next thing I knew I was waking up.

Guess I better get ready for bed. Looking forward to tomorrow and watching a few cams. So many eaglets that I have not met yet! Paula, thanks for the videos!

Heading to bed. Nite all....sweet dreams.

Good morning! Looks like misty rain at the nest. Yuck! But Palmer is chirping away. Saw Belle move around and shake a bit.

Rus was in town for a friend's birthday party, but I do think he was also here to share word with us. I called Kathryn last night, even though it was late. Tom seemed surprised, but Kathryn, though pleased, wasn't surprised. I need to pass the word on to Susan today.

Rus said that he may be going to California in May to meet her sister. She lives at Pebble Beach.

Need to get to work early today and see what the sub has left for me.

stronghunter said...

Lolly, from what I have read of your activities, I think you were just beyond feeling sleepy.

Many times I have settled in to watch "Wheel" and "Jeopardy" and awakened to find it all over.

stronghunter said...

I am enjoying reading of all the little eaglets and other birds being hatched, even though I don't always have time to look at them right now.

Have a good day!

floralgirl said...

44° and cloudy, but the rain has stopped. Luckily a lot of it went East of us.
Belle(I'm guessing, cause I just pulled cam up) is up and Palmer is chatty this morning and is gonna have some leftover fish for breakfast.t

I haven't checked out the forcast yet...hope it gets better as the day goes on.
I was too late to catch a feeding of Palmer...haven't seen him in a few days. Gene says he is probably ready to fledge:)
I was checking out some other cams and came across this one, which has some very unusually colored birds (it is in Italy):

MOrning, all!

I was reading through Lisa's Web blog at BW, and came across this from the entry before last...I don't recall seeing this posted. Lisa had asked, and I did provide her with the info.

"And second, we want to offer a big congratulations to our good friends at the NCTC Eagle Cam in West Virginia. No Eagle Cam had a worse time with the snow than their cam, and out of four eggs, only one has hatched — but that was still a surprise. We hear that the great folks at the NCTC Eagle Cam blog have named the sole eaglet Palmer, after Deb Palmer, who was a wonderful person and big supporter of both the NCTC cam and our Blackwater cams, and even helped with reestablishing the osprey population in her home state of South Dakota. Deb unexpectedly passed away at the end of last year, so the NCTC fans wanted the eaglet named after her.

I've been watching all morning. Working on the 65 Brown Leather Hardcover Of Louis L'Amour of Ed's. Which I will try to sale at the June 1st weekend Community Yard Sale.
I still have a whole box of Louis L'Amour hardback. I took down from the shelves in the living room where these Leather Bond came from.

I already re-decorated the shelves. These he talked about selling.

I don't think I can manage my heart to remove his paperbacks. Which is a lot! From the shelves in his bedroom. Going to leave those go; maybe next year. I can do it. That's too emotional.

Little Palmer has been moving his head around. In that deep egg cup lol
