Hope that Ceils' busy week is winding down. Miss her! And hope that Mits made it through her shift at the zoo okay---know it must have been hard, especially considering that she had said her goodbyes last week, and then had to do it again. :(
I am going to say my good nights. So much eggcitement has worn me out, as I'm sure everyone else is, too.

Made it to the end of American Idol and part of the news on Ch. 5 last night.
Watching Ch. 7. Oh dear, I see that might be some more snow on Tuesday. I had to buy a new snow shovel on the way home from work day before yesterday. No choice as to style. I took what they had. We have several shovels in various states of disprepair.
Got a bunch of things to take care of this morning, and should get to work early and take care of some chores there.
Megan, I am sure you are proud of your daughter and all of those college messages. How nice to have thme recruiting her.
One eagle departed and another arrived. Can't really see the egg at the moment.

Hi Mits, I keep thinking of you when I see the news stories about Tai Shan. I am sure my Susan is watching too. She spent time with Tai Shan back when she was a zoo volunteer.

Susan worked in a variety of places. She did spend time on the Asian trail and is particularly fond of elephants. She still has fun when she goes to the zoo to show someone around and finds people listening to her as if she is still a guide.
I know she would still be doing it if she had time, but going to school and working at a job is all she can do.
I really have to get ready to go to work! Bye for now.

Was watching NZ & didn't see a crate or anything, just rock wall on one cam & adult eating bamboo out in snow. Boo
Fubby found all the Panda activities on CH. 5. At 8:15 Mei Lan will lv. Atlanta and both will meet at Dulles & go non stop to China. Tai Shan will go in the Fed Ex truck to Dulles.Bon voyage!!We love you both!♥♥
2 staff members will go & stay there for a week while they get settled & NZ says they should be reporting from there.

Loretta, it was just a brief pic of Tai in the crate, once the keepers came out, they went to other pics, keepers do not want to be on the panda cam...his keeper Nichole and a Vet will be traveling with him, once the plane touches down in China, Nichole will turn him over to his new keeper, they are scheduled to stay 4 days, he will go immediately into quarantine, so there is no reason for them to stay any longer
Been reading the farewell stuff on NZ page and Atlanta. Now I am bawling!!! WOW!
But we still have 2 beautiful Giant Pandas, and they are hopeful, since the AI went so well, that maybe we will have another cub....:)

I checked one of the online weather reports for this area & they say snow won't start here until 5 PM Friday. If it was earlier I would consider going to work today.
I did more consoling and comforting yesterday than interpreting...but did impress upon people that this is so important to the future of the species.

Godspeed Tai and Mei. I can't help but think how nervous they will be not really knowing what's going on. How long will the flight be? Mits, do you know if they are going to have sedation, or if it's safer for them to travel without?
no sedation, Lynne, 15 hour non-stop trans-atlantic flight because it is faster....watching channel 5, the are keeping a split screen up, he is loaded onto the pallet, and keepers are handfeeding him and saying good-bye...:(
Just got updated weather report on TV that snow will start in DC area Friday right after 12 noon! By late afternoon & evening may fall at 1" an hour!!
CH 5 has small screen on of NZ & just showed them hand feeding Tai some fruit it looked like thru bars of crate. Going back to watch...
