I didn't realize they even had meds for it, Lynne. I guess you do know this stuff...duh, you've worked in a vets office! Where you a vet tech? My vet hadn't mentioned any meds but did mention the other stuff
I wanted to be a tech, with a degree...never got to do it though. I was an assistant for a while, and then receptionist. It's worth having those rads done to monitor the size of the heart as he ages, for sure
Gosh! It worked! Don't know why. Hello to all veteran and new eagle friends. Happy Groundhog Day. Glad to see Belle; she's probably looking for a hot buttered rum!
Hmmm she is sitting there in the snow. So you also have osme big storm coming in for the weekend argh. I odn't care about the eagles in Alaska dealing with this all the itme and beign fine. I don't know the eagles in Alaska. I know Belle as well as the rest of you and she gets buried in it to protect her eggs. That is sooooo hard to watch.
Time to get supper over with, get your bubble bath and clean jammies on. This is TV NIGHT!:) But, keep one eye on our nest I think it is going to be occupied tonight.
Sissy is still sick....she worked today, but was heading to bed. She still has NOT gone to the Dr., but is admitting that it's time....need to spank that gal!
WV DNR Calendar has a February deadline for 2011 pictures(well, artist's pictures not photographs) - I have got to remind them we have eagles and osprey in WV and they need to include them !! That is...someone needs to submit one I guess
Like Mits says, I think the eagles in the lower 48 have the same stamina that the Alaskan birds have. The good Lord made them all to withstand the same conditions, I'm sure. Otherwise, they would ALL head to South America for the winter!
I do not watch a lot myself. Do like Thursday night with Grey's and PP. Also, like Castle on Monday night, but can miss it. Have been watching more as I work on slides.
for sure, Lynn and Sharon....God watches the tiny sparrow, and I pray all is ok, and God will either say yes, or he will say no, all things are in His hands:)I care about all living things.
Hi Sandra...we saw you working in your kitchen when we passed by on our way home from Conowingo...blew the Eagle Express horn shamlessly loud! Did you hear us?:)
1 February: The eagles have been actively working on the new tree nest about a mile from the tower. But they are also spending time at the tower nest. Only time will tell what their plans are for nesting this year. We do have cameras installed at the tree nest and are working on the rest of the needed infrastructure to stream that video if the birds decide to use that nest.
Margy, Lynne is good at reminding you of hair appointments.
BTW Lynne If the roads are clear tomorrow at 1:00 I am getting hair cut then instead of Thurs. Thurs I hope to have gd and the 4 ggk visiting. Donavon (Youngest) and Joseph (Oldest) need shoes!
yes I have no doubt the snow is not a threat to Belle now or even 35 to 38 days from now and its all in His hands. And it works out His way. For tonight all is well enough. Lib is probably being snowed on above and there she sits.
Glo - I know how hard it is to watch Belle and/or Lib covered with snow - Just like Lady & Lord Blackwater the other day BUT I know they are just as tough as those that live in Alaska and will make it. It is knowing that it is OUR eagles as what makes it hard to not pray harder for them.
I got the most beautiful plush eagle today! Check out the gift store at the National Zoo-----it is good-sized and as soft as fur! Saw it while I was ordering a Tai Shan magnet and just couldn't resist. Have to spend that Christmas money somewhere---and it was VERY worth the $15!
Snow still coming down fast, about 2" now. This is a wet heavy snow. Snowman snow:) Much tougher to brush off the gh- round one of that is done. Sure to be back out there in another hour or so. See Belle is still hanging out in the nest, just might be an egg night.
took the words right out of my mouth Sharon, can see better on still, but technically, this is really the first time she has been in the nest this late, correct?
Evening Everyone!! And Hello to Sandra!!! I gather no more eggs for BW, NBG, and I can see none for here!
Saw eagles flying up & down river again today---adult & juvie. Also had a neat male towhee near office. Adult eagle perched again on the osprey platform & this time I got him!!!Not sure how great pics are yet, but will try to stay awake long enough to dwnld!! ☺ Oh, when I opened back door of Vis. Ctr., a perky Carolina wren flew in! Kept going up in the tall ceiling, landing on fan blades (not moving). I opened two doors, got a hiking stick & lured him out! That's happened before! We have a few flakes now & they weren't supposed to fall until midnight or 3 to 7AM! DUH Gotta eat
Wonder what time the trip will begin? Now saying that zoo will open at 10---so assume that means he will be gone by then. Guess they will get Mei loaded either late tonight or very early tomorrow and then they will head to DC. It may all be done under cover of darkness, just to be on the safe side. Hope the weather doesn't interfere with the plans.
Oh, MArgy, you all will have GOOD snacking tomorrow!!!
Lynn , he leaves on Thursday, and you are right, zoo is closed Thursday a.m. till 10...wonder how many of his fans will go to Dulles....I would love to see the real plane take off, but there will be enough media there to take the shots I'm sure
Update from Dunedin Osprey Cam: 2/2/10 All seems quiet on the nest before sunrise. Weather should be drier and warmer today. This is 35th day after the first egg was laid so we can seriously start looking for eggs to start hatching this week
Very nice letter I received from the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge. Very informative about the events of the day. Next year they are hoping the weather doesn't go against them. Very proud of all plungers!
just a joke...last year during egg laying and egg hatching time I was gobbling them up while watching in the wee hours of the morning....I think Jo got me started on that....
We will see about the sleeping in . . . I already called Kathryn so that she can bring Hunter if necessary. Of course, I can be semi-conscious and let him watch TV.
She did not leave, she was shaking off the snow. I can still see her, your still cam pic is correct. And now, I want pizza. Sorry, Jo, somebody ate all the PB cookies.
Jack is watching hockey, guess I will work on slides. Weather report tonight has a major wide spread rain event coming tomorrow and just a mention of snow the first part of next week. Lovely, just lovely.
Just watching NBG. They are maintaining the zoom through the night. She was up a minute ago but could not see the egg. She looked strange with her head and neck stretched out.
Nah, she's probably chasing it:) We have about 4" here now, I think. Going to have to go back out and clean off the gh again. Gotta find that maintenance man.
I will dutifully man my post at 0400...better catch some z's soon
Loretta....did you fall asleep? I will look for your pictures tomorrow! Towheee, neat, eagles, neater...and a wren in the building, what a racket that must have been if she was singing...

EAGLE LAERT!
Oh, and they have an outdoor channel commercial that runs, too.
That looks like Belle.
I wanted to be a tech, with a degree...never got to do it though. I was an assistant for a while, and then receptionist.
It's worth having those rads done to monitor the size of the heart as he ages, for sure
Just maybe I can post.
Dinner time here - warmed up Chili and freshly baked corn bread.....
BBILW
Whoops! I see that eagle in our nest
Sandy Shaw, that name sounds awful familiar...
SANDRA HELLO
How did you do it!
Gosh! It worked! Don't know why. Hello to all veteran and new eagle friends. Happy Groundhog Day. Glad to see Belle; she's probably looking for a hot buttered rum!
Sandra --- You think you will get another egg on your b-day this year?
Hope so, mema Jo. Bit I don't like all this bad weather when it's eagle egg time. Hi, Paula; you look so ridiculously young to be a grandmother.
And Sandyshaw, you can! :)
Is she going to lay an egg in this mess?? She is messing with my nerves for sure!
Amazing! I need to save this screen forever. Chili and cornbread sopunds good. Must go downstairs now
Okay, so what is that noise at the nest. I am not even going to say what it sounds like! :(
Hi there Sandra.....☺
Hmmm she is sitting there in the snow. So you also have osme big storm coming in for the weekend argh. I odn't care about the eagles in Alaska dealing with this all the itme and beign fine. I don't know the eagles in Alaska. I know Belle as well as the rest of you and she gets buried in it to protect her eggs. That is sooooo hard to watch.

Hope that Daisy recovers from her ailments Pronto Lynne2 !
So, chili and cornbread instead of Crow for dinner eh Jo? Glad Ed is okay....
Paula, you heard the same noise I heard.
I have heard it several times.
Wanda you are so right about it being TV night! 3 in a row! Whoo Hoo!
Commercials will be my nest checking
time.
I am getting cold watching poor Belle. I like it when the cam stops. Then I think it has stopped snowing.
This snow like the last one is sticking Oh My
Margy Take a look at the last page of pics on E_M lol
OK I will just added some saw yours at 2:07 will go back and look now
At least the temperatures are pretty moderate...and no wind....
read in a Flamingo book that when those birds turn their eggs it is to keep the embryo from sticking to one side of the egg....same with Eagle Eggs???
The Still Cam is really capturing those flakes in mid-fall
well time to head into the kitchen...not sure what's going to happen there but I can get back here to watch the nest....
Sure is Margy.
Guess it is true of any egg... osprey
do it also.
Hi, Sandra! Hope you are doing well!
Sissy is still sick....she worked today, but was heading to bed. She still has NOT gone to the Dr., but is admitting that it's time....need to spank that gal!
An inch of snow here already.
Hope Shirley is not slogging around in the weather...rather she be blogging around here with us...
I'll say it's time Sharon!!!
Thanks for the update, remind her many of us have EAGLE CANES - and I will go get one if I need to !!!
I had that flamingo book for a few overdues...finally just read it!
I just never even thought about the egg turning that way, sure makes sense!
okay standing by with the rest of you....
(( Warmth, Love & Hugs to Belle

Yep, big TV night on CBS, plus 3 hrs. of Lost on ABC....like Lolly, not sure if I'll watch it or not (taping it). It got awfully wierd.....
Paula, video was great!
Say a little prayer for Suz....she just left work about an hour ago.
Margy, needless to say....wrecks have started.....:(
yes Margy, birds are smart:)
Yep - I believe you Hedgie....
shift change just occurred in there at 6 pm....I get to face it in the morning...
There's the sirens again at Sheptown, Sharpsburg went off a little while ago. Roads are slick out there.
Hi Mits...
grandson picked out that flamingo book for me at the library....so glad I finally read it, it was great ♥
sure was fun to turn all my calendar pages over yesterday...
WV DNR Calendar has a February deadline for 2011 pictures(well, artist's pictures not photographs) - I have got to remind them we have eagles and osprey in WV and they need to include them !! That is...someone needs to submit one I guess
okay kitchen hollering at me
ttfn xo
prayer for Suz is engaged, Hedgie..thanks...
Like Mits says, I think the eagles in the lower 48 have the same stamina that the Alaskan birds have. The good Lord made them all to withstand the same conditions, I'm sure. Otherwise, they would ALL head to South America for the winter!
and all traveling in sloppy conditions.....
Paula is headed home, hope she is ahead of the storm.....
Margy...not me. I do not watch lost. Has Belle left? Can not see her. Nope, just tiled my screen and can see her.
I think it was someone else talking about Lost, Lolly.......I don't watch a whole lot of Television...
Better Belle in the nest. No matter what...she is out in the elements.
Ceil's going to get me for keeping coming back....wouldn't mind, would like to see her on here !!
I do not watch a lot myself. Do like Thursday night with Grey's and PP. Also, like Castle on Monday night, but can miss it. Have been watching more as I work on slides.
Yeah, I agree that our eagles can do just as good as Alaskan ones! :) Belle is still there!
Margy, when do you go to work
Yay, Margy, glad that helped. I still would use firefox.
What is Belle doing, hope she doesn't want to lay one tonight.
Yup, Sandra has lost her picture, just a red x here too.
for sure, Lynn and Sharon....God watches the tiny sparrow, and I pray all is ok, and God will either say yes, or he will say no, all things are in His hands:)I care about all living things.
Roads were wet all the way home, not sticking on this side of the mountain yet.
Lolly
6 am to 6 pm, both Wednesday and Thursday....
then on Friday I am getting my hair fixed !! Time for a cut and more curls...hope I don't forget the appointment ☺
glad you made it home, Paula...Lolly, Margy goes in tomorrow a.m.
Hi Sandra...we saw you working in your kitchen when we passed by on our way home from Conowingo...blew the Eagle Express horn shamlessly loud! Did you hear us?:)
Sandra, sure was good to see you on here:)
wow four posts while I was answering Lolly...
yes, glad you are in your roost, Paula !!

I tried Firefox for the cam, no big improvement, but I will play around with it....
Good thoughts there Mits....you are soooo right

yeah lots of sounds coming from Sheps tonight...
From OK
1 February: The eagles have been actively working on the new tree nest about a mile from

Margy, they are going to like it:)
Lolly I had tried to get the cams up at OK this afternoon but nothing would come up - I waited forever.
Oh, Margy, you will be popular at work. Though,I imagine you are already!
yes I have no doubt the snow is not a threat to Belle now or even 35 to 38 days from now and its all in His hands. And it works out His way. For tonight all is well enough. Lib is probably being snowed on above and there she sits.
i have the OK cam up and both eagles are at the old nest.
Oh, Jo. That Donavon, he is such a cutie!!!

Just talked with Jenny and she made it home safely from work in Hagerstown. The other night she got stuck 2 times!
He is going to be a 'guitar man' lol
I got the most beautiful plush eagle today! Check out the gift store at the National Zoo-----it is good-sized and as soft as fur! Saw it while I was ordering a Tai Shan magnet and just couldn't resist. Have to spend that Christmas money somewhere---and it was VERY worth the $15!
I'll try OK again, Lolly
the zoo has a great shop....
Here's link:
Eagle
Even nicer in person!!
hoping the zoo opens tomorrow, Tai's last day on view.
would be alot of disappointed people, but it is what it is.
he is beautiful, Lynn
next time you want something let me know...I get a 20% discount, because of volunteering.
Interesting that Belle is just sitting at the nest...not tenting. Hope that is a good sign.
Snow still coming down fast, about 2" now. This is a wet heavy snow. Snowman snow:) Much tougher to brush off the gh- round one of that is done. Sure to be back out there in another hour or so. See Belle is still hanging out in the nest, just might be an egg night.
Off to prepare dinner.
BBL
Lolly Can't get OK to open
Maybe you have a different link???
She's definitely not sitting right over the egg cup.
Can see her so much clearer on the still cam!
I didn't think she was in the egg cup either and it is not cleaned out for an egg!
took the words right out of my mouth Sharon, can see better on still, but technically, this is really the first time she has been in the nest this late, correct?
Evening Everyone!! And Hello to Sandra!!!
I gather no more eggs for BW, NBG, and I can see none for here!

Gotta eat
Lynn - What are you going to name that
new plush eagle........?
Have you heard anything from Bob or Doris since the little one left?
She just flew off I think.
Think she just flew up into the tree
could hear an eagle shaking it off
well an eagle is back
Still there, I guess she just shook off!
Hey Momsters - I really think that Belle is staying there at the egg cup.
I can watch 11:00 to 1:00 this evening.
I also have the still cam up because you can see her much clearer than on
the live feed. Of course you can hear
any activity on the live feed.
Keep them both up
I didn't see her leave......
Lynn , he leaves on Thursday, and you are right, zoo is closed Thursday a.m. till 10...wonder how many of his fans will go to Dulles....I would love to see the real plane take off, but there will be enough media there to take the shots I'm sure
No, Jo, haven't heard anything from Bob. Insurance agent was telling me the latest yesterday....she was good friend of Carey.
My oops---it was Andy who mentioned Lost, not Lolly!
Update from Dunedin Osprey Cam:
2/2/10 All seems quiet on the nest before sunrise. Weather should be drier and warmer today. This is 35th day after the first egg was laid so we can seriously start looking for eggs to start hatching this week
Hedgie - 'cover of darkness' means that no Pandanappers can cause any trouble!
If someone were to look at the Live Feed they would have a hard time believing us that there is an eagle in our nest.
Yeah, you really can hardly see her on live feed, I can just barely see her with full screen up. Snow is getting deeper.
Good evening.
Just got the call. No school in Culpeper tomorrow. It was snowing hard when I left there. Not so much here.
Miss America . . . I did not even know the pageant was going on.
I haven't checked, is it snowing at NBG
Very nice letter I received from the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge.
Very informative about the events of the day.
Next year they are hoping the weather doesn't go against them.
Very proud of all plungers!
Okay another Momster has arrived at her roost, Shirley !
I can watch the nest from 0400 to about 0430....not much of an offer is it?
And I still don't have any oatmeal creme pies!
Megan, How is the gh roof????????
Glad you are home Shirley and Whoo Hoo you get to sleep in again!
No, she did leave, that white head wasnt there...
Too dark to tell on NBG. Maybe they give an update in their forum or on one of those links.
just a joke...last year during egg laying and egg hatching time I was gobbling them up while watching in the wee hours of the morning....I think Jo got me started on that....
Are you getting ready Wanda! TV starts soon.
Watching NCIS
NCIS LA (my favorite)
The Good Wife
Will check in at commercials of which there are many and boy are they long!
I still have her on the still cam, with the correct time??
I have M & M cookies...not to gloat or anything...
I just ordered a pizza:)
With my blood sugar - when you go to the store to get yours Margy - see if they have Sugarless ones for me... lol
Paula if you say she left THEN the pic on my still cam is frozen. However when it refreshes her head turns at times.
We will see about the sleeping in . . . I already called Kathryn so that she can bring Hunter if necessary. Of course, I can be semi-conscious and let him watch TV.
Poor Belle. I see her sitting there in the snow.
I also see different snowflakes on the still cam after the refesh
Oh No! No gloating on this blog!
You have any peanut butter ones????
It's GEORGE that I would worry about!
Refreshed. Got a different commercial this time. At least it was short. I guess it means that money is being made.
I'm off to the TV.....
BBILW
I have peppermint patties...
(supposed to be for Valentine's Day)
yep eagle head just turned on my still cam too.
Okay Jo I will look for the sugarless or low sugar ones...
I can hear some sort of vehicle sounds, car doors, and people.
She did not leave, she was shaking off the snow. I can still see her, your still cam pic is correct. And now, I want pizza.
Sorry, Jo, somebody ate all the PB cookies.
I was saying she left earlier when Sharon and I both said she left. Belle is still there.
Hear more vehicles.
NBG doesn't have a night light anymore? I'm behind on the times
OK Eagle Cam
It is probably off for the night. I still have it up, really dark but can make out the outline of the nest platform. Also, think I see stars.
Going to watch American Idol. Need something mindless.
SNOW PLOW? Oh, yes..TV:)
Yep, she is there but it doesn't look like the egg cup is cleaned out!
Paula, I can see NBG. When I first brought it up, it was black. So I refreshed and then I could see her. Go full screen to see even better.
Yep, I meant to say tomorrow night, Mits.
Jo, haven't decided on name yet for my new eagle. Have to give it some thought.
Well, isn't this Wanda's responsibilty to clear the snow off the nest
Still coming down
At least 3 inches now
Still cam still has her there.
Is Belle still back in the nest, facing the cam?? Hard to make out....but at least I don't see any Boris webs.
I can take 1-2Am, Jo.
BWE cam not as clear as BWO cam
Jack is watching hockey, guess I will work on slides. Weather report tonight has a major wide spread rain event coming tomorrow and just a mention of snow the first part of next week. Lovely, just lovely.
BBL
shook her head
I smell cookies
I see one of our eagles looking a bit angry at the snow situation from the noonish position of nest.
Snowing like mad here now, too
Jo, I still have PB cookies, but htey aren't sugar-free.
Sorry to say that you may not see your grands tomorrow......
Just watching NBG. They are maintaining the zoom through the night. She was up a minute ago but could not see the egg. She looked strange with her head and neck stretched out.
OK, on the blog they said she was calling out. That makes sense.
Looks like Belle is dozing off.
We have 2" here...wish I could clean off the nest!
Train!!!
Think Sharon's on it?:)
It's Thurs I see the grands
It's Wed I may get a haircut
Back to the TV
Nah, she's probably chasing it:)
We have about 4" here now, I think. Going to have to go back out and clean off the gh again. Gotta find that maintenance man.
So-Gibbs has a girlfriend. I thought that was happening......
Now the good one NCIS:LA
Poor Belle....she wants to lay her egg doesn't she??
Our eagles can do better than Alaskan eagles. I bet ours can see Russia from their nest!
interesting looking little silver-like bead in front of Belle on the nest...wonder what it is
sounds like a snow plow
sounds like a snow plow
i GUESS SHE IS FEELING PROTECTIVE TOWARDS HER NEST, SORRY FOR THE CAPS, NOT RE-TYPING IT!
well it's gone now, the bead
I hope that I wake up at my usual 3 or 4 am potty break so I can check on the poor girl!
Could be and Eagle Bead:)
I think the silver like bead in front of her is a piece of garland...
Charges about to be filed in Michael Jackson's death.
I see Belle still sitting there.
Very tired. Have to say good night. "B" day is always tough. I have my big class on B days. Too many bad attitudes in that group.
See you tomorrow. Last time I looked, it was raining here, but I think it is about 33 degrees.
night Shirley
I'm heading for the shower and bed. Stay safe everyone, prayers for all!
Belle has changed positions a little, maybe looking for the lost bead...
headed for shower too, back before bedtime which is coming up pretty soon! I have a four o'clock date with the nest, must drink lots of water tonight
2 eagle beads :)
Did she move in a little? Just got back inside. Snow is coming down, we are in a heavy band of snow right now. Gonna be a long nite .
Still snowing here in the valley but not as hard as before
She just took off again
Guess she just shook off again, heard something. Still cam shows her there, lost her again on live feed.
I think the still cam is stuck
Mine was stuck at 9:51:48 then suddenly jumped a couple of min. She is shaking off again.
just heard another shake off
You are right Megan, she is still there. Quality on still cam is crummy, but I could see her head change position.
Can't see her on full screen at all
wow, looks like the snow is building up on the side of the tree, clinging to the Gorilla tape
hard to see what's what now...
Yeah, I can't find her on the live feed either, even on full screen.
I will dutifully man my post at 0400...better catch some z's soon
Loretta....did you fall asleep?
I will look for your pictures tomorrow! Towheee, neat, eagles, neater...and a wren in the building, what a racket that must have been if she was singing...
hope all pups do not put out any SBD's tonight, silent but deadlies...
Berkeley County and Jefferson County schools will be closed Wed, Feb. 3
The snow emergency plan was placed in effect in Washington County at 7:30 p.m., according to Maryland State Police.
...or noisy but dealies for that matter
Prayers for all with illness, and special prayers for all creatures of the wild, that includes us....that we handle the elements in the best way possible for all good outcomes
Good Night Precious Pals....
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
Live feed is only good now to hear a 'shake off'
Well, I just refreshed the still cam and it is at 7:09:11 p.m.
Now it is back at 10:05 p.m. I can see her there!
I see James in Morgan County has the day off also... Thanks for the alert, Jo
(( sending warmth to the Royal Nest and the Royal Pair ))
xo
Oh...SPLIT ???
Try again, my still cam wasn't working, then suddenly started refreshing again.
