Ceil I guess we better go meet those neighbors! They are so far up the road and back off of it we never see them.
Glo, so glad you are OK! Hope your camera is as well. I think Daisy needs the rubber room, etc. again. We had just taken her for a long walk through the deep snow which she loved, but obviously did NOT wear her out!
Diann, I promised to be good the rest of the day, so it is up to you and Judie:) Getting ready to clean up and into Jammies...SURVIVOR is coming on at 8 o'clock! I have really been looking forward to this one with all the past charactets coming back. Watch it with me...Deb always watched it with me:( I miss her so much, still.
Glo glad you got out, hope you AND the camera are okay
Mine slipped out onto the snow the other morning...I broke my cardinal rule, and failed to zip up its case, took case into work, noticed it was empty, thought I had maybe left it at home, went back outside to check there it lay, in the snow by the car, a soundless drop... think it's okay...
Glad to hear you got out !
I postd about 20 nest pics on the E-M album, I guess I snap as much as I yack....hope it shows some of what some may have missed
Need to take care of task for the neighbor going to slide down to the mailbox too bbWhenever as Jo says
Thanks for all the help guys. I will try all this when my husband gets home . something is very wrong with computer and he said he may have to dome manual stuff on it. LIke I know what LOL Glad to see Belle there. I am glad she had a calm night . She will get a good rest and see what tomorrow may bring. She is healthy and eating well and Lib is brnging in materials.
Beautiful daughter in remission. Praise God. All 11 grandkids well. It is sooooo good to be back on here, but it took me a day to get on it seems, blogger cop must have it out for me since I have been away so long. Will be have a fluff baby this year???????????
Wanda I used to watch Survivor all the time but stopped for a while. Started to watch last time and will be watching tonight. Can't take Deb's place but will comment with you. Margy you are busted but will forgive you because you reminded us that tomorrow in red Friday
thanks Ceil, prayers coveted!!!!! and appreciated. I didn't even know Mits had a grandson until a few weeks ago. I was thrilled. I think I have been away much too long. Hope and pray we have at least one eaglet this year.
Hedgie Thanks for the info about digital equipt. I just finished eating and am sittign under electric blanket. I did dry off the lens body and camera body right away. I don't think battery compartment got wet and certainly hope the media card didn't. Time to go look at the innards of the camera and hopefully download some images. If they seem wet at all I will get some rice and do as you suggest. I will also be passing that info along.
Ceil had a wonderful idea!!!!! I hear my housecoat calling my name as I type. Hope to catch all of you tomorrow. Good Lord Willing and the Creek don't rise. love and blessings Mauley donna
wow Donna, what area are you in? This is only the second time in almost 12 years that I've lived here that I have seen one! He was alone, not even a mate with him. Hope he finds one and stays!
Miss Mauley, really so glad to hear your daughter is in remission. Don't know her, but felt so bad for her and all those beatiful children (and Hubby too).
Lynne, I live in southeast Kentucky. There are lots of rufous sided towhees here. I counted 10 today and as many nuthatches, even more red and yellow finches. We have put out over 200 pounds of seed in our feeders this winter. I don't know where they put it all, but they waste a lot, and of course, the squirrels have to eat, too. The raccoons and possums clean up what's left on the ground overnight, too. Nice to meet you Lynne.
As long as I have taught at the college, this is the only week we have ever called off classes because of snow. Yes, it has snowed here. We were without power for a week during Christmas week.
I think Megan that it was the blizzard that brought him to the feeder. The wren, too...although I actually see wrens about all the time, I never have seen them come to the feeders.
Hi Diann, we'll just have to come up with some mischief because Wanda has wimped out on us. Maybe we could find a way to put No-Doze in her popcorn?
Hi Mauley! Don't think we've met but am very happy your daughter is in remission. Will send wishes for continued recovery. Which college? We have something in common, I guess. I lived in Dayton for almost 15 years and Shirley also lived in Ohio.
Ah yes, Kentucky gets snow.
Got many towhees in our yard. Just adore them.
Off to watch First 48. Think tomorrow will be able to escape and go look at a washer. May be back in the laundry business soon.
made the loop of the street with the buggy while I was out, top and bottom ends clear...but very very slick guess I can get to work tomorrow I think we are going to be really busy :( ttfn
Oh Yes, Margie, I started with the Spunky, Miss In Between and Big Boy. I was hooked. I have luked the past two seasons. Heartbroken as all were when we had no fluff balls that year. Thanks so much for prayers. I hope to blog more, but I will still lurk.
I have lots of birds at my suets and feeders. nuthatches, finches, chickadees, hairy woodpecker, downy, flicker, pileated woodpecker and the odd Merlin hangs around. I fed peanuts to the bluejays and of course the magpies come for their share. I do not welcome the magpies when the robins come back. I am going to try all suggestions for computer when my hubby gets back
the tea stain looks like it came out
have a great evening. I thought I better come back and say good night s it was rude of me to just leave. but darn computer locks down on me
Hi Judie, I teach for Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. We were part of University of Kentucky branch system until 2000 then we became part of KCTCS. I taught in public school for 27 years before going to the college after retirement. I love the blog, and when before I became so busy, I was an avid blogger. Must settle for luking mostly now. thanks for being interested. Its a momster thing, isn't it? I love it. blessings mauley donna
Donna, so glad to hear the wonderful news about your daughter. Momster prayers at work, along with all the others!! Must have been the pits tobe without power at Christmas time.
BTW----Jo???----had not heard about the Allegheny buyout.....but am wondering if A. Energy and A. Power are the same company....???? Haven't seen anything about it in our papers....but of course I am missing two days of them.
At 10pm I am watching The Mentalist That is the only thing I am watching this evening. I don't do Survivor. But I sure do remember how much DEB loved it.
I heard 9 inches. This is quite unbelievable. Maybe I have been associating too much with you guys. ☺ Lots of winters we have no snow, just a few days with ice.
Just checked in quickly. Looks like Belle either produced another egg or, quite clearly, rolled an existing and has settled into the egg cup. Am I hallucinating? Did anyone else see this?
It will probably warm up fast, at least I hope so. No, we will just have a whole lot of wrecks. This afternoon when I took pictures, cars were going by at a pretty good clip. Not many know how to drive in weather like this. Crazy!
I think I forgot to tell you that we had a whole flock of robins a couple of days ago. They were in the trees, in the stream and all over the back lawn. It was wild!
I need to ask for a round of prayers for my elderly neighbor (81 yoa) lady...she has lots of ailments including a stubborn UTI, persistent sore shoulder....and a ton of worry right now. Would appreciate this...know that it will help, if not for physical relief, surely for spiritual comfort. I called the Fire Dept to explain how to find this very poorly marked apt bldg in case she calls 911 when I am not working. Could be overnight in fact.. Thank You ♥
Hey everyone. Been following this blog for several years now, and I really enjoy watching watching Belle and Lib year after year prove what wonderful parents they are. I have been skimming over the comments for the last several days, so I feel compelled to share some of the knowledge I have gained while working with the Conservation Department.
First things first. Eggs number 1 and 2 are almost GUARANTEED not viable any longer. From what I have gathered from this blog, they have been left uncovered and buried in snow for long periods (days?) of time. During early incubation, eggs can handle SOME extended periods of cool temps, but buried in freezing snow...not good! It would take a miracle. As for egg No. 3, well, the conditions haven't gotten any better. During lunch today, I logged on and saw what I thought were two eggs laying uncovered in the egg cup on TOP of a layer of snow. From what I have read, it seems this third egg has been left uncovered for extended periods of time, and the parents seem somewhat unwilling to incubate, at least Lib. In my opinion, egg No. 3 is also doomed. I sincerely don't want to upset anyone, I am just trying to put things in perspective.
Now for the good news! My gut tells me that in the next few days you will see Belle and Lib incubating less and less, eventually stopping altogether. It seems as though Lib has already started to except the inevitable. With new eggs in the nest though, this may take a while. The females generally take longer to completely move on. However, this early in the season, I would bet my pick-up truck that they lay a second clutch! They went through this a few years age, but they completed a full incubation cycle and then some. When they finally gave up on that clutch, it was simply too late in the season for their breeding cycle to reset. This year is much different. They have more than enough time to reset and lay a second clutch! My bet... you guys will see a second clutch (probably 3 eggs), and fledge chicks from this nest this season!
Remember, these two birds have seen probably THE WORST possible conditions mother nature could throw at them, at the worst possible time. They have done their absolute best to protect these eggs, but there is only so much they can do. My hope is that they move on from this clutch quickly and start working on their nest again in prep. for a second clutch (hopefully with less snow)!
As a side note, there is a reason why I added (probably 3 eggs) when referring to their second clutch. It has been our experience that known eagle pairs in my home state generally are VERY consinstent with clutch size. Food quantity does play a part in clutch size, but even in times of plenty, some pairs only lay a single egg year after year. Some lay two. A few exceptional pairs like Belle and Lib lay three every year! Not a guarantee, but most likely! If you guys were the betting type and wanted to place bets on the number of eggs each year, those of you betting on 3 would probably be cashing in! LOL.
I hope this has been helpful! My intentions were not to bring anyone down, I just thought you should know the LIKELY outcome. I have been proven wrong before. LOL! There could always be a miracle!
Thanks Megan and Lolly and to all of you, in advance...I know this is the Go To Place. We actually call one another, the other's angel. She is pretty much all alone regarding relatives...
Pix Pa...looks like snow falling now. Could that be ? One deer browsing, a nice healthy lookiing one
Hey Megan, meant to tell you you can always talk about, stress about or gripe about that greenhouse, we KNOW what comes outta there in the springtime ☺
Thank you TJ... very informative and uplifting We're always glad to see when someone says they have been following the Royal Pair as it seems you have... and we always thrive on an optimistic outlook
Margy, sure hope that your neighbor will be alright. Prayers for sure. Guess what? Ridge is shut down from Dry Run to Federal Hill (S/D that used to be "our" orchard---:( ) due to 2 groups of stuck vehicles----bet both hills; impassable! Sure would have thought that with all the houses built there now, the winds would be blocked more and the drifting wouldn't be so bad. Remembering the old days...........they had to bring in a HUGE grader from Romney to open it back then!
Lolly, hope your mess melts fast. They have brought im big military equipment as well as fleets from NY to assist in this area.
lots of roads were drifting shut last night Lynn... 5 and 6 foot drifts in some places
finally settled on cold cereal for dinner, headed to bed now... Hope the rest of the evening is good for all... Prayers for wellness, safety and comfort. And gratitude for precious friendship here...
I got the small deck cleared off this afternoon----sunroom blocked the wind. My elbows and one thumb are hurting. Lynne, is your shoulder better today?? I'm sure the shoveling is what caused oyur pain. Bill was going to come and try to break in today, but got hung up and ran out of daylight....so hopefully tomorrow! I hope the stupid wind stops blowing---then I can get started on the big deck.
THANKS TJ! We appreciate the input. That is what we have been thinking. And, we have hoped for a second clutch, but when those three eggs become uncovered aren't they likely to keep on incubating even though the are not viable? I know the Norfolk eagles had a second clutch, but the first eggs were destroyed.
TJ thank you so much for taking the time to share this information here on this blog. I have searched the web over to see what the chances are that the eggs would still be good, but to no avail.
Your post today was so helpful. Thanks for sharing in detail and from a professional perspective!!
Okay, up to 8.7 inches and another couple likely! All time snow record. Now, I disagree, I think in 64 we had more, but I was only a college student then and did not watch TV and weather reports.
TJ, I think we all know in our minds that oyu are right on spot. The heart lags behind the mind. Welcome, and thanks for your insight. We, too, are hopeful for a second clutch. And the fact that Lib and Belle are still courting and mating makes it an even more likely scenario. Hoping that the snow melts quickly, they clean out the egg cup, and start all over again---and have no more bad weather. Where do you live and work?
Lolly, it is possible that they may continue to incubate. Some pairs are very unwilling to simply "walk away" from what they have produced. Remember though, these animals have thousands of years of evolution engrained in them. They know when things are wrong, and conditions have certainly not been good for them! I have not read every post on here, just been skimming, but it seems they are on their way to moving on and re-clutching. I really think this clutch is a lost cause, so I have my fingers crossed they move on quickly and start that second clutch. More than likely, that should be the case!
Margy, prayers for your friend, I hope she'll be OK. What is her name?
Nice to see you again Joyce!
Lolly, hope you and yours remain safe in the snow. My Aunt lives in Dallas...she's been keeping me updated. Being from the Pittsburgh area, she thinks it's hilarious how people who've never lived where there is snow react when is snows there!
TJ, welcome and come back often! Great information, thanks!
Going to bed. Prayers for all~and good luck on your test, Andy!
Well, we are thrilled with the snow and have fun in it and this is okay as it is so unique....as long as we are not out on the roads. There are real idiots out there.
Margy, prayers for your neighbor. Hope all will be well with her.
Time to turn my light off. Leaving the night light on for others coming in. Andy, please set the security system when you come in from school. Hope (know) you aced the final.
TJ - thank you so much for your perspective...I think it really means a lot to everyone on here.
Some of us on here have expressed some of those thoughts as well. I think Lib knows the 3rd egg isn't viable as well, but it's taking Belle longer to get over it.
3 more eggs would surely be wonderful, we would even take one or two in a second clutch, but this pair does seem inclined to lay 3 eggs.
Please jump in and post anytime, your thoughts are always welcome!
Hedgie, I Live in Columbia, about 2 1/2 hours west of St. Louis.
Paula, I'll try! I usually only log on though during my lunch break, and only when I'm in my office. I have infant twin boys, a two year son, and a 3 1/2 year old son waiting for me when I get home, so things are wonderfully hectic when I get home. My wife is gone with the kids this evening, so this is the rare exception in which I have time to log on in the evenings. They should be back shortly!
Yeah, both of us wanted 3 children, but it was MY idea to have them so close together! When we found out we were having twins...well... the look on my wife's face was priceless! I just had that shocked...oh, wow look! WHAT WAS I THINKING! LOL!
Well, TJ, just keep your wonderful attitude. It will get better! I am sure you are wonderful help in the evenings. Little boys are precious. I have three grandsons and they are the best!
Hedgie, we do have a few. There is one on a small river that dumps into the Osage River. That pair started building a nest in 2007 as 4 year olds. In 2008, they started their first nesting season and fledged 3 young, and did the same last year. We are going to try to get a better look into the nest from above this year (from a plane) because we are almost positive that in both 2008 and 2009, they actually hatched 4 eaglets! In both years we did a fly over when we think the chicks were about 2 weeks old and we are pretty sure that in both years there were 4 to start! Unfortunately, both years when we flew over, the adults were nearby and we didn't want to get to low as we thought we might disturb them! But yeah, 4 chicks, maybe. Very, Very rare. Like I said though, only 3 fledged.
Made it home from school a little early tonight. Thanks so much for the prayers for my test tonight--think I did OK on it. Don't have any more school until 2/23 now! YAY! Just have to go buy a CD and one book some time before then.
Lynne, mighty relieved that Steve managed to tackle Daisy and get her back home! Know the feeling, as a former Siberian Husky owner. They can surely run, too! Maybe either a headcollar or a harness with a second leash would help. Beats running all over the county! (Been there, done that!) Poor Daisy must have cabin fever like the rest of us.lol
Margy, prayers for your 81 yo neighbor lady! Bless her heart!
Mauley Donna, welcome back! SO glad to hear the good news about your daughter! Prayers continue!
Welcome to the other newbies/returnees here today, too! Good to have you here!
Sharon & Sissy, prayers for you and your family, too!
Bob, LOVE the 'Blizzard Birds' pics! Every one is a winner! Thanks for sharing.
Well, gotta go watch some TV and unwind. We're spending the day with Sis-in-law tomorrow. Plan on doing something fun, but haven't decided what yet. Will be here for a bit in the a.m., though. Prayers being said for everyone. The night light is burning brightly, the porch light is on, and the eye scanner security is ready to go. Sleep snug and warm, and hope you have sweet dreams. God bless, and goodnight! Love all you guys! :o]
O.K. guys, I have to go. My two oldest boys are climbing up my leg begging for a very, very late betime story! Please don't be offended if I don't contribute much on this blog. I don't have much time, so I usually just read the posts! It was very nice to chat with some of the people whom I've seen post on here over the years!!! Hope my info was helpful. All the best! Fingers crossed for that second clutch! Good night!
Snow still coming down. Low tonight 30, said the roads will be thick ice in the morning. High tomorrow 36 and then down into the 20's. We are going to have ice on the roads for a while.
I am going to say good night and read for a while. Jack is watching hockey and we have a wonderful fire going.
Late checking back - so tired of the 'snow' news -not much else informative events. Sorry I missed commenting while TJ was on but I am impressed with his words. I do agree that the only way any of the 3 eggs, especially the 3rd one, are viable is a Miracle. I am very hopeful for a second clutch. I sure hope Lib talks Belle into it!
Great Horned Owl is in the nest at Valmont...in fact it is hard to tell if both adults are there, don't see the egg so I trust the owl is roosting on it
I'm having my first trouble with the cam. Does someone have any suggestions for me? It's a black screen that eventually says there's an error. Thank you for keeping me informed on what's going on at the nest.
Lindan did you try uninstalling your Adobe flash player then reinstalling it? That has worked for some people. Morning all:) Sunny and 26° here and at the nest.
I don't know what else to suggest. Some others on here have had problems and have downloaded video players or something. Maybe they can suggest something.
I was having some problems earlier wih the cam being very slow. I don't know if it was my computer or something else.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Lynn and Sharon, looked like an egg to me. We need Nu to climb up there and take those eggs away so that they will start all over again. I was holding out hope for the eggs with the theory in mind of the Human Frozen Embryos, which get thawed out and are then viable. Haven't heard an AMEN, so guess it won't work with eagles. Did you know I have BLONDE ROOTS? I get a lot of dumb ideas. I was smarter when my ROOTS were RED;)
I put some pics on the Momsters Album of Belle, Lib and the egg. So much easier to put them on my WILD AND WONDERFUL BLOG. In the Momsters Album, they don't always post in order, even though you set them up in order...frustrating. Yesterday, while I was posting pics from that mornings shots, Margy was posting the day before's shots...what a tangled mess. I don't know how to straighten them up:( SORRY JO
Good morning everyone. Off for coffee and dog treats here very soon. At the moment nest is empty. I am sort of glad. Its time for New Beginnings. I will post a Glo s Glimpses for those who want to see some of the photos I need to sort through and begin the decision process for Camera club for March. Its really not too painful if you enjoy bald Eagles. most if not all will be some of the ones I think are good enough to consider. Thanks again ahead of time to anyone who visits and gives me their input. it is invaluable to me in narrowing things down. MTBR later today or tomorrow morning.
For those of you who don't read back to what happens after you leave the blog for the day...go back to 9:3lpm and read what a gentleman named TJ had to say about our eagles. Nothing more than we already presumed, but it was great to have a new dadster joining in with us who seem to know and love eagles:)
Good morning all. Another sunny one here, but colder than yesterday morning. Norma, Margy is at work---not under the covers! She went in at 6 for a 12-hr. shift. Lynne, not having any luck finding the Valmont link for you---maybe it's on my PC.....Jo will have it for sure when she gets on! Saw no nest action when I looked.
Have no idea where to start with a new computer. I guess I need to get my DUMMIES books out and start reading. When we got this 'puter, it was a Christmas present from my daughters, we knew nothing about it and it was APRIL before we knew how to use it! Forget what we did to get started. Don't know how to get important things off this one and onto a new one:(:( We still have a lap top which has never been set up. DUH!
MORNIN' LYNNE2--MEGAN--LINDAN96--SHIRLEY--PAULA--& WANDA!!---The SKIES are BLUE--SUN is shining!!!---When the SUN is shining--the WHOLE WORLD SMILES!!---LIFE IS GOOD!!---The temp is 21° here in WILD & WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA---'HOME OF BELLE & LIBERTY'S NEST'!!FEED the birds...LAUGH - DANCE & pray--one can get shoveled out TODAY!!--GIVE THANKS & ENJOY!!!
LYNNE, I missed your comment last night about STEVE enjoying Civil War and WWII movies and books. He and Gene would enjoy sharing their knowledge on the subject. When our grandaughter was very little, maybe 4 or 5, she knew her grandaddy talked and read a lot about the Civil War...told people that he was IN THE CIVIL WAR!:)
Sorry I am not in for long but I will be back. Stay warm everyone. Olympics start today and I hope the everything goes well. A lot of rain expected. NOt good for man made snow. A real shame . they had lots of snow last year. One can never predict mother nature
Wanda, congrats on your new computer. You will either need a transfer program, or a little flash drive or a computer geek!!!! Good luck....guess Paula can give you tips since she just got a new one!
now I am not sure what happened as my computer completely froze with the live cam upbut>>
At 9:22 I heard someone fly up top and you could hear them .then all of sudden Belle was in nest and cam was freezing. then I saw Lib, on top or at back of Belle and cam froze and then Belle was in front of nest bowl and Lib at back and now I see one at edge on still shot. Weird Did anyone see that
I do not know if I can watch the cam with it freezes and freezing my computer now. This just started happening yesterday afternoon. Was O.k. for a bit this morning and then poof
I've been sitting at this computer since 6am...time to get breakfast and start the day. This is GG day...doctor appt and supper. Don't think we are going to Chinese Buffet tonight. Probably make some veggie soup or get some subs at Subway. Oh, crab legs would taste good! Hmmm, maybe will make some crab cakes. Yes, that is what I will do!
It does get on your nerves after a while, Bev. Have to turn it off and rest my nerves for awhile. Use to get on here to calm nerves, but it doesn't work that way now, just aggrevates them:(
was too tired to comment when TJ was here last night....welcome and thanks for all your info, it was nice of you to stop by, considering how busy you are.

Mine slipped out onto the snow the other morning...I broke my cardinal rule, and failed to zip up its case, took case into work, noticed it was empty, thought I had maybe left it at home, went back outside to check there it lay, in the snow by the car, a soundless drop...

GOOD GOLLY MISS MAULEY, it is sooo good to see you on here. How have you been and how is your beautiful daughter and family?
Lynne, sounds like you better get a chest halter for Daisy!

Okay, I'll be good .... you would all blush if I would post what I think sometimes. ;o)
Going to read the newspapers that were delivered today - several days worth.
... later
Nite all. Going to get a ready for bed and to watch tv. Restful sleep
Lynn, I have rufous sided towhees all over the place. I will try to get pics. (and then figure out how to post them)
Hi Donna, don't think we've met yet but I am very happy to read your good news!!
Thanks Wanda!!!!! I seems I have so little time to help her all I need to, but I'm not complaining. God is good.
See you later Ceil. I may have to ask you if I miss something, what happened. I do fall asleep some evenings. Fell asleep one night eating popcorn:)
Miss Mauley does it snow in Kentucky?
It's so good to be on here, I have forgotten how tired I am. Good therapy would you say, dear friends?
As long as I have taught at the college, this is the only week we have ever called off classes because of snow. Yes, it has snowed here. We were without power for a week during Christmas week.
Well, I am jealous, cause we usually get one pair of towhees and we have not seen them this winter.
We have only been to Kentucky once in all our travels...a state I don't know much about. Kentucky Derby is all I know:)
Gone to TV land now.
So nice to chat with you Miss Mauley, come back as often as you can!
I think Megan that it was the blizzard that brought him to the feeder. The wren, too...although I actually see wrens about all the time, I never have seen them come to the feeders.
Donna, glad you are here!
I'm heading to the tub for a soak in the tub. BBL
I can see one egg
BBL
Donna if you are still here,
so good to read of your daughter's progress....sorry I missed that post earlier...
Prayers continue...xo
I see Belle reversed her position now face towards us
no mail today, my poor old cold Valentine's cards sit in the go-out compartment :(
disappearing for awhile, hot bath calling for me
when I first started watching the nest and reading the posts in 2006
I surely remember seeing Mauley posting ☺
made the loop of the street with the buggy while I was out, top and bottom ends clear...but very very slick
guess I can get to work tomorrow
I think we are going to be really busy
:(
ttfn
Oh Yes, Margie, I started with the Spunky, Miss In Between and Big Boy. I was hooked. I have luked the past two seasons. Heartbroken as all were when we had no fluff balls that year. Thanks so much for prayers. I hope to blog more, but I will still lurk.
I had to go out for a bit.
I love it. blessings mauley donna
good night Bev, good night all. blessings to all
Donna, so glad to hear the wonderful news about your daughter.
Judie, good luck on your washer shopping!
Search and ye shall find! A. Power is a subsidiary of A. Energy!
Yes, Allegheny power is Allegheny energy.
Thanks for the info. Wonder what kind of changes to expect if any!
At 10pm I am watching The Mentalist
That is the only thing I am watching this evening. I don't do Survivor.
But I sure do remember how much DEB loved it.
Vegging out in front of the
TV tonight. Greys and PP coming up.
FB is really crazy tonight. Tried to do several things, it would not let me, gave up.
Snow still coming down. Roads are really going to be treacherous around here. They will sand the overpasses, but no snow plows here.
Saw your pics on fb. Just can not imagine what would happen here if we ever got a snow like that.
Whoops, that last bit was about Paula's pics.
How much do they say you'll get Lolly?
Lolly, will they bring out the road graders to plow the snow.
I heard 9 inches. This is quite unbelievable. Maybe I have been associating too much with you guys. ☺ Lots of winters we have no snow, just a few days with ice.
I have not heard any mention of it. They are just getting the trucks out with sand.
With nine inches, you are going to need to plow unless it gets warm really fast.
Just checked in quickly. Looks like Belle either produced another egg or, quite clearly, rolled an existing and has settled into the egg cup. Am I hallucinating? Did anyone else see this?
Hey Megan.....I may have to go out and clean off the greenhouse. lol
I did not Judie...
I missed it
It will probably warm up fast, at least I hope so. No, we will just have a whole lot of wrecks. This afternoon when I took pictures, cars were going by at a pretty good clip. Not many know how to drive in weather like this. Crazy!
oh oh speaking of magpies not being welcome when the robins appear (ref Bev's comment)
guess I have to disappear in the spring :(
Merlin, a very interesting hawk...likes to catch its little bird prey in mid-air, I guess a lot of hawks do that
that is crazy Lolly, that is a LOT of snow for a place that normally gets very little
Bet their 9-1-1 centers are busy down there !
I am sure of it Margy!
Thank You ♥
Aw...sorry to hear that, Margy. Keeping her in my thoughts.
Lolly, let me know if you need any gh snow cleaning tips:)
You got it, Margy! Prayers going up. You being her neighbor is an answer to prayer in itself.
Megan, our gh is so teeny! Think it will be okay, but just want you to know I thought of you when I saw our little bit of snow on it.
Hey Megan, meant to tell you
you can always talk about, stress about or gripe about that greenhouse, we KNOW what comes outta there in the springtime ☺
Welcome TJ. Interesting insight, thanks for sharing it. I think many of us agree that all 3 eggs are most likely not viable.
Thank you TJ...
very informative and uplifting
We're always glad to see when someone says they have been following the Royal Pair as it seems you have...
and we always thrive on an optimistic outlook
5 and 6 foot drifts in some places
finally settled on cold cereal for dinner,
headed to bed now...
Hope the rest of the evening is good for all...
Prayers for wellness, safety and comfort. And gratitude for precious friendship here...
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ☺ ♥
Good evening everybody.
TJ, I think most of us think that egg #3 is not viable. My wish is for the egg to disappear so they will move on and reclutch!
Went to the funeral home to pay my respects and then to a meeting. Going to get my jammies on and relax a while! :)
And to all, stay safe and warm.
Okay, up to 8.7 inches and another couple likely! All time snow record. Now, I disagree, I think in 64 we had more, but I was only a college student then and did not watch TV and weather reports.
Just got back - need to read but
Judie I wasn't watching Bad Jo!
Margy - Prayers being said for little
neighbor lady.
BBL...........
BTW...love the avatar Judie!
Thank you, again, TJ. Have all fingers and toes crossed, or as someone said the other day "my talons are crossed." lol
Hedgie, I live in the great state of Missouri, the "Show Me State"!
oh I found another cool website...
E Nature
Well, we are thrilled with the snow and have fun in it and this is okay as it is so unique....as long as we are not out on the roads. There are real idiots out there.
Margy, prayers for your neighbor. Hope all will be well with her.
Time to turn my light off. Leaving the night light on for others coming in. Andy, please set the security system when you come in from school. Hope (know) you aced the final.
Goodnight, everyone.
TJ, my mom and sister live in Warrenton (NW of St. L)....where are you?
Thanks TJ. We are as hopeful as you.
Prayers for Margy's neighbor and all alone in this weather.
Judie, the wind is out of me now. Sorry. Going to watch the Mentalist and finish the newspapers.
Everyone have a warm and restful sleep and may tomorrow bring sunshine to B&L's nest and us.
God bless
TJ - thank you so much for your perspective...I think it really means a lot to everyone on here.
Some of us on here have expressed some of those thoughts as well. I think Lib knows the 3rd egg isn't viable as well, but it's taking Belle longer to get over it.
3 more eggs would surely be wonderful, we would even take one or two in a second clutch, but this pair does seem inclined to lay 3 eggs.
Please jump in and post anytime, your thoughts are always welcome!
Good night to all turning in. See you in the morning light.
9.4 inches! This is ridiculous!
OMG, excuse me while I laugh. Wonderfully hectic! You have to love it. 4 boys, 3 1/2 and younger. Bless you!
Hey TJ...good to see another Dadster on here:)
Come back and visit when you can.
Lolly, it takes my breath away to think of having 4 boys at ANY AGE, much less all under 31/2!
GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
SPECIAL PRAYER FOR MARGY'S ANGEL
Do you have any nests near Columbia, TJ? Wow, you are a busy family for sure!!!
Hi TJ. Thanks for the information.
Twins--mine just turned 30 years old.
Margy, prayers for your neighbor.
Andy, I hope you aced the test.
Judie, I hope you find the new washer soon.
Welcome to all of those I haven't met.
Ready to head up to bed. Good night, all. God bless.
I guess you were shocked!I have 2 sons and 2 grandsons....boys are great.
Glad to have you here, TJ. Please join us when you can!
Wow, 4 eggs. Only other nest we know of that had 5 was in Oklahoma, but they only fledged 2.
Your comments make me think Belle has probably laid 3 eggs every year, just not all have hatched each year.
Duh, don't know how my 4 turned into a 5 in that last post!
4 eggs would be a treat.....if we were ever that lucky and if all 4 hatched, bet Lib would NEVER get any rest!!! He works so hard.
Feel free to share any photos you have with us TJ. We love pics---eagles, kids, birds, flowers, etc.!!
Hi, Everyone!
I'm going to say my goodnights now.
Sleep well with sweet dreams. Prayers and peace.
O.K. guys, I have to go. Good night!
Thanks, TJ. Enjoy your boys!
Snow still coming down. Low tonight 30, said the roads will be thick ice in the morning. High tomorrow 36 and then down into the 20's. We are going to have ice on the roads for a while.
I am going to say good night and read for a while. Jack is watching hockey and we have a wonderful fire going.
Sweet dreams!
Night, all. Snow days are over! But tomorrow is Friday!!
Hugs to all ♥
Late checking back - so tired of the 'snow' news -not much else informative events. Sorry I missed commenting while TJ was on but I am impressed with his words. I do agree that the only way any of the 3 eggs, especially the 3rd one, are viable is a Miracle.
I am very hopeful for a second clutch.
I sure hope Lib talks Belle into it!
Headed down the hallway
Sunshine again tomorrow and more melting. We might see the ground when spring time comes in March.
Good Night All & Prayers for All
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥

Good Morning but it's still night time
Belle seems to be snoozing
Great Horned Owl is in the nest at Valmont...in fact it is hard to tell if both adults are there, don't see the egg so I trust the owl is roosting on it
Happy Lincoln's Birthday

Time for me to leave
Thanks for the extra prayers added for my neighbor lady
Best wishes for a good, safe day everyone...

Good Morning!
The egg was visible??? Haven't read back yet..
Can someone send me a link to Valmont? I have one that doesn't seem to be working.

Good morning everybody. I think I see an egg in the egg cup.
good morning Norma and Sharon...been watching...read back. They aren't incubating it. At least not since I got here this mornign.
eagle back
I'm having my first trouble with the cam. Does someone have any suggestions for me? It's a black screen that eventually says there's an error. Thank you for keeping me informed on what's going on at the nest.
TWO!
Good morning!
Lindan, I would try refreshing or restarting the cam.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---Nite MARGY!---MORNIN' LYNN2 & DAISY!!--back up on blog---w/see VALMONT site---MARGY just posted!
one poofed and I don't see egg
some where on this blog---someone asked how to get tea out of her carpet!----That's why I posted--CLUB SODA!---
Lindan did you try uninstalling your Adobe flash player then reinstalling it? That has worked for some people.
Morning all:)
Sunny and 26° here and at the nest.
Found link Norma, but no pic on cam :(
I think I see what I thought was the egg, and another white thing to the right of it.
Thank you stronghunter. I've done that about 25 times to no avail. Just tells me unable to play video.
I'll try to reinstall. Thank you.
I don't know what else to suggest. Some others on here have had problems and have downloaded video players or something. Maybe they can suggest something.
I was having some problems earlier wih the cam being very slow. I don't know if it was my computer or something else.
As a matter of fact, the cam feed is still not working very well for me. I don't know why. I am getting the feed.
WVNPR!--CHINA has had several inches of of SNOW---GUESS---'TAI' will feel at home now!
Going to take a break. BBL.
Thanks LYNNE2--COOL site!
SHIRLEY, you can't take a break, you just got here!
I can see already that I'm going to be bad again today. Maybe I need to get back to my taxes and keep out of trouble;)
Well Lolly, Texas was on the news this morning with your foot of snow!
I will post a Glo
s Glimpses for those who want to see some of the photos I need to sort through and begin the decision process for Camera club for March. Its really not too painful if you enjoy bald Eagles. most if not all will be some of the ones I think are good enough to consider. Thanks again ahead of time to anyone who visits and gives me their input. it is invaluable to me in narrowing things down. MTBR later today or tomorrow morning.
My goodness, 12 inches. Those Texas towns must be at a standstill, seeing as how they are not expert at handling snow!
Look forward to seeing your photos, GLO:)
Margy posted the link to Valmont at 12am. I tried it and it shut down my puter:( Getting a new one today! Delayed Christmas present:)
BWE is on the snowy nest!
good morning everyone.
First ,I watch Valmont Owl faithfully. Snowball had her egg Feb 10. (I have kind of lost track of the days LOL)
I think my tea stain came out. thanks for all the help.
Magpie: I would never chase you away in the spring LOL
T.J. excellent words of wisdom.
I will not be here for long today as ,like I said before, computer acting up. Hubby home today to hopefully fix it.
someone mentioned a 4th egg laid. I do not think so. right!!!!
I hope today is looking great for everyone.
I will be back later

Margy just gave the weather announcement on the scanner--------snow Mon. and Mon. night with accumulation................NO, NO, NO!
Thanks, Norma---good to see BWE cam back on!
Wanda, congrats on your new computer. You will either need a transfer program, or a little flash drive or a computer geek!!!! Good luck....guess Paula can give you tips since she just got a new one!
Belle and Lib were just on nest. Belle was eating while LIb was trying to replace sticks.
Belle flew off and Lib still rearranged sticks and then Lib flew off
Could hear trills off nest
Now I am gone for a bit
I though that was humerous, Bev. Lib was trying to reinforce the nest and Belle was just tearing away at the frozen fish!:)
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Looks like Lolly's snow is heading for Red!
now I am not sure what happened as my computer completely froze with the live cam upbut>>
At 9:22 I heard someone fly up top and you could hear them .then all of sudden Belle was in nest and cam was freezing.
then I saw Lib, on top or at back of Belle and cam froze and then Belle was in front of nest bowl and Lib at back and now I see one at edge on still shot.
Weird
Did anyone see that
I do not know if I can watch the cam with it freezes and freezing my computer now.
Use to get on here to calm nerves, but it doesn't work that way now, just aggrevates them:(
EAgle still on side of nest
Crab cakes sound good.
Out to wash hair and pick up grandson
Eagle flew out- MT nest.
well, I'm back...computer giving me a hissy fit. Trying to figure out if it's the cam, or Firefox.
Good Friday a.m. everyone.
