17°- wow heat wave, why is it so darn cold here. SLept like a log...until the darn dog woke me up at 6:30- he has never understood the concept of sleeping in. I don't know about eggs, I see two maybe, but that might just be snow. Too cold, and I don't think those eggs will be viable.
Good morning everyone. Don't think I will pull the came up just yet. I will follow blog instead. You all are such good reporters and I can't watch this anymore.. We need the snow out of there. Think I will go get dressed and BBILW
no I don't know Wanda...sorry... snowplowers were in the parking lot at 11:30 last night here, I think the plowers got their properties mixed up and someone else's landlord had ours plowed ☺
Paula said her dogs wandered out about 20ft. into the snow...gutsy weren't they? My daughter's dog (black Lab) wouldn't go any farther than the path that Dustin shoveled, which wasn't very far:)
Morning Glo:) Our church, whick brags about NEVER CANCELLING SERVICES, has cancelled services:) LOL Wasn't planning on going anyway. Might build and fire and watch Joel Osteen. Interesting speaker, but I have this thing about TV Ministers:(
MORNIN' GLO!---I am most certain the EAGLE was on the nest earlier! (whoa!--i am getting too old for this birthin' EGGS)---I did hear her 'scratching' around the nest much earlier----but I think SHARON was watching earlier!

I'd rather not post it but more than 40 mins off the egg cup and no action there now. live feed off for me now wasn't showing anything anyway just making staticky noise
But we still have our hope for whatever the future holds for Liberty and Belle, may they get their food intake upped today and toss mounds of snow off the nest
be back later, going to post some pictures
Best wishes, for a day with some magic and peace today xo
Watched Lib bring in a small stick and Belle brought in the large one. He moved the small one around a little then took off and she moved the the larger one around then took off.
OK, Margy, I'll check it out later. Frying bacon and making breakfast while we have power, just still so afraid it will go at any moment. The lines here are still covered with snow.
LOLLY, it snowed on the day I was, born, the day I was brought home, my Baptism day, and numerous BD's throughout my 62 years, but never have I seen this amount of snow, ever.
I belong to a group called the SCA, medieval group; we have a huge event called Estrella War this coming week. Just me and 3500 of my closest friends living a modern medieval life!
Good morning all. Happy Birthday agian, Mits! What does Jubby think about getting out to Philly?? Nigh on impossible, right? Norma, cool story about the Alaskan bird. Here's a link to the article:
Hope there are modern medieval bathrooms Delphia ☺
Put a few pics on Momsters Album, and on Magpie's Roost

But I'm not worried. If anyone should escape the prison, they'll have thousands of armored and armed men & women to contend with!
The second Riffe in two days was born at 1:25 this morning. Addyson finally made her appearance in Greensboro!! Both mommies and babies are doing great!!
probably going to do what I did yesterday, Panda naps and food:)...had chili last night going to make chili dogs, and potato salad for game time....got to make do with what I have, will be days before I can get out, I suppose.
Well, that is right! You can watch the super bowl to celebrate! ☺
Delphia, we went to a medieval festival one time in Italy. A medieval festival in a truly medieval town. It was so cool! It was not put on for tourists but for themselves. I think we saw only one other American couple and they were living over there. We had a ball! An unforgettable memory.
The SCA is a non profit historical education society; we don't pretend to be people who really existed (no one is King Henry, for instance). It's been around for....45? years.
MORNIN' LOLLY!---Oh--I can't imagine how much you will enjoy this day with your family!!---HEY! Which team in the SUPER BOWL?---I'm taking the COLTS!!---The other team was really rough with BRETT FAVRE---ho!
I would be happy to be snowed in all Winter if it wasn't for GG. Need to make sure she is well and eating. DARN! She used to live next door to me, then moved into town a long time ago. How wonderful it would be if she still lived here! Property right next to us will be for sale soon (owner died), would love to buy it and build her a little house there. Would never be able to talk her out of her house...she loves it there. There is a question of money, also!
Yes, all snowed in. Using the snow blower Perry had before we were married - hasn't been started in four years and it started. Someone is watching over me!!!
How did you all fair in the snow?
Soooo happy to see the Lib & Belle decided they could tough it out. God love 'em!
Lynn I love french toast. I have some nice thick bacon. Jim took a walk and said that it is terrible. I called the store don't need anything but in case I get cabin fever they are open.Could use more food for the birds.
Delphia, what do you do at that event? You said something about WARS...do you do Paint Ball? Somehow, I can't imagine you doing that. Hope the rain has stopped and you don't have sandy mud:) ENJOY!
I'm thinking instinct is what is drawing Belle back to the egg cup. Surely the egg or eggs are lost. Sure wishing I could clear some of that snow off the nest for them, but nature will take it's course. Guess I'm not saying anything you all haven't said several times in the last day or so.
Costume: We have classes, music, dancing, food, fire, fighting...like swords and axes and shields! But not live steel, of course. I don't fight, not my thing.
congrats on the new babies Addyson is a pretty name. she was born on Helen's birthday. Talk about Hummers. They are getting stuck around here. Ambo got stuck and hummer came to help and got stuck. One of our big storms about 13 years ago the girl next door went into labor. Hummer could not get up our street. She had to walk down to the hummer.
Delphia -- that sounds like an incredible amount of fun!!! Have a blast girl.
Happy Birthday to he birthday girls.
Is it the concensus that we have lost both eggs? They are sure working hard on nestorations. Bless them both, the nest is still there. They just can't see it.
Beautiful picture at NBG Megan don't look it is swaying. I can't get live feed on NCTC circle keeps going around Was just thinking snowman cam had lots more snow last year. Think we got all of theirs.
Ceil, IF you decide you need to hike to the store, please be very careful!!! We don't want any falls!! That's awful about the laboring lady having to walk out. Speaking of which----ambulance crew just now saying that they can't get a stretcher to a house, that patient will have to walk out. I would be SOL---I could never make it out to road if it was me in this snow.
Margy can tell you a good labor story in a storm! I can't remember details anymore, but I'm sure she does!
I think that is what scares me most, getting sick and not be able to get help, but guess if I came into this world in a snowstorm, might be my luck to go out in one.
When my mom went into labor with me, the snow was so deep, she couldn't get off the hill. The doctor, Dr. Fox, rented a jeep and came to the house. I was born at my grandmother's house. I cost $65 - 60 for the doc and 5 for the jeep.
Good morning all and congrats on the new additions to the Riffe clan. I get all involved in catching up with the blog and then the endless nest questions.
Hope everyone is safe and sound and also glad to hear the GH is still standing.
Jack Hanna--I took a look at his FB page. If he has taken the time to read it, he surely has been educated about bears by now! I don't remember who first mentioned Hanna's FB page, but thanks. It was interesting.
WV sUSAn---I heard you are in Charleston?--I used to live there--when UC was called MORRIS HARVEY!! ho! Worked at the Capitol!--loved it!---Happy you are enjoying our EAGLES!

to me it looks like two eggs...
empty nest now
maybe even three, have the magnifying glass out...
someone with better eyes and better computer .... what do you think...
Can't understand---why they keep leaving nest!!
I swear MARGY--it may be true!!
Morning all-
5° here this morning
Hi Megan
That's TOO Cold
HELLO to you ladies...Margy, Norma and Sharon.
Norma what are you going to do with your wax? lol
Hey Margy- you're right, trying to workup the nerve to go feed the birds,I can hear them out there looking for seed.
MORNIN' MEGAN!!--How many eggs do you see in the nest?---2 or 3?
Morning Megan...17° here. Did you and your MM sleep well last night?
It looks like 2 eggs to me and one snowball...but who knows? Just all looks so unsurmountable with below freezing weather all week.
I think we are just seeing clumps of snow. I don't think they can find the eggs anymore and are not incubating anymore.
Look at that little hole in the nest at 6ish.
14 mins and counting, without an adult
glad you got some good sleep Megan..Snowy was frisky was he ?
Yeah! SHARON---I think I am SEEING what I want to be seeing!!---
Yeah, that's a nice way of putting it. He wants to run in the snow, but we only have one little path shoveled.
Glad you slept well, Megan:)
Margy, do you know if any of the roads are being plowed...how about 81 and Shepherdstown Rd? Our road out front has not seen a snow plow!
Good morning everyone. Don't think I will pull the came up just yet. I will follow blog instead. You all are such good reporters and I can't watch this anymore.. We need the snow out of there. Think I will go get dressed and BBILW

my computer feels like dial up is so slow
Happy Birthday again Mits, on the new split page ☺
Morning Glo:)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITS!
HaAd to go feed the birds, they were hollering for me.
Eagle back.
So glad the Super Bowl is in Miami...would hate for it to be cancelled:( Hoping for a win for the Who Dat? team:)
WANDA!---In earlier days---we used to call out 'WAX' on even hundreds!!---The big contest--to see who could collect the most WAX--I think--was between GLO & VICKY vs SHARON!!
Now both- moving sticks around.
whoops, one flew out.
Sun is shining here too:)
eagle came in with large stick
my live feed does not show it
They are walking all in the egg cup so there is definitely no egg there.
MEGAN--I have lost count of time--I kept wondering last night why there was a ball game instead of the news!!---I PROMISE DAT--I will get DAT days straightened out!!--DAT is the truth--DAT I don't think DAT team is going to win!!---DAT is DAT truth!!!
Did anyone see if the large stick was BROUGHT in, or dug up?
Digging up sticks would help clear out some of that snow.
Oh, Norma, don't say dat....
Al Roker put on Twitter that there will be another storm by Wednesday with the heavier snow being further north than this one.
DAT IS TRUE--DAT IS!!
Morning, everyone.
Wonder if Belle has another egg on the way since new sticks have just been brought to the nest?
Please stay safe and warm today.
I'd rather not post it but more than 40 mins off the egg cup and no action there now.
live feed off for me now wasn't showing anything anyway
just making staticky noise

Happy birthday, Helen!!!!
Eagle alert!
SHARON---I heard that yesterday on
WVPR!!----I probably won't be shoveled out by then!---all i do is eat---
Are you folks snowed in -- in the southern part of the state?
Wow, back laying in the egg cup!
Yesterday they said maybe 4" of snow, hope it's not more. We could be low on kerosene, I've lost track.
Norma, I am in Bedford and they did a superb job of getting our streets cleared off. Not sure how much they got in Bluefield though.
Beak tucked in wing now.
MORNIN' JUDIE!!----SMILE--the SUN is shining!!!!
SHARON---I can't get PLOWED out to the road!!----too deep to walk---
BWE has a great photo link to their two eggs...
Megan
on the Eagle Cam gallery at 6:17 pm Fri there were two adults side by side in that nest ..maybe you did see two side by side
Good Morning Shirley Judie and Sharon who I did not say good morning to earlier and anyone else I am going to miss while I'm disappeared
awesome cardinal chirping in my neighborhood
SHARON--There is snow in BLUEFIELD----but it doesn't look very deep!
OK, Margy, I'll check it out later. Frying bacon and making breakfast while we have power, just still so afraid it will go at any moment. The lines here are still covered with snow.
MARGY---nothing more beautiful than the CARDINALS in the snow!
OK Off to coffee and dog treats. I think my neighbors need some doughnuts :-). Oh hey I oculd bring the donuts and we could eat.
Happy Birthday Mits .
Norfolk cam up and eagle on the nest there, watch out for the motion sickness when you watch
Maine is empty, nest looks messy
Dunedin....can't tell, have to try to figure out if there has been any hatching there yet
Mits always has news on that one
I hear chickadees near the nest!
MORNIN' GLO & DEX!!----Hope you folks have sunshine too!
someone did some plowing at Pix Pa - big crow there now and a wren bellowing
by the time post posted the crow turned into a small bird
I could use bacon AND doughnuts this morning...
see you all later
Norfolk looks awesome
Morning, all.
I see that looks like Belle in the egg cup. I think she can still see the egg that's in that hole in the cup, and that is why she hasn't given up yet.
My dogs have made 2 trails out to fence, straight across from the deck and one next to the house, I think.
My dog wishes he could make a trail thru the snow, he can't even see over it:)
Good Super Bowl Sunday everyone:)
thanks for all the cards and birthday wishes, so much going on this week, I forgot:)Jubby says my BD card is at the drugstore:)
LOLLY, it snowed on the day I was, born, the day I was brought home, my Baptism day, and numerous BD's throughout my 62 years, but never have I seen this amount of snow, ever.
Lib brought breakfast!
Belle grabbed it and is eating, Lib is gone!

Happy Birthday Helen!
I see BW site is back, the pic of the eggs looks good
Do I see an eagle on our nest laden with snow?!?
and i think I see an empty spot in the snow at 7 o'clock on the nest; snow that fell off, or is that where a bird was?
that's where Belle has been eating
Where are you heading, Delphia?
I belong to a group called the SCA, medieval group; we have a huge event called Estrella War this coming week. Just me and 3500 of my closest friends living a modern medieval life!
Hi T Bird
Ceil, I suppose the cake is at the store with the card:)
We aren't going to open the store today, roads are still too bad. I heard 15 was OK, but other roads are still in bad shape.
Good morning all. Happy Birthday agian, Mits! What does Jubby think about getting out to Philly?? Nigh on impossible, right?
Norma, cool story about the Alaskan bird. Here's a link to the article:

Whoops---I told Lynne that WAX was on the UNEVEN hundreds when I emailed the story to her last night.
Sounds Cozy, Delphia...have fun! Always good to get away!
Delphia, sounds like lots of fun! Where do you have this event?
Paula, I've never heard you say where you work. I always thought you worked in an accounting office!
Belle gave out a few cries, then took off to the right
A loud call and gone.

wow, adding on to the nest
Good morning, Sissy and all! And, once more Happy Birthdy, Mits! What are you going to do to celebrate? Go build a snowman?
I really do not think Belle was on the nest last night. Think she popped in this morning, Gone now. And these eyes can not make out a frozen egg.
Going to church this morning and then leaving for Michael's around 3, 4 your time. They are serving cajun food to around 40 guests. A Who Dat party!
Eagle back with big stick. Bless their hearts!

Sharon, love that, $5 for the jeep, lol
snapping off that big stick
That tree they brought in is brittle. Breaking it in pieces.
I was the last of 6 kids and the only one born at home. Guess Mommy knew what she was doing by that time.
Whoa another big branch...Belle grabs it right away
Now they are both working that big branch that lib brought in
Congratulations to the Riffe family. Best wishes to both moms and babies!
Major construction going on at the nest.
Probably lots of fallen branches, etc., lying on the snow.
Exactly what I was thinking, Shirley...looks like Belle departed
There went Lib
Better to see them working on nestorations rather that egg laying right now.

I see I don't have to wonder about the outcome of the second egg this morning.
Lucky the storm hit at the beginning of the nesting season.

MORNIN' MOVIN'JIM--
It's working here. MT nest right now.
Mine is working fine, Lib just came and left again...birdies are singing...
Gonna split again!
New thread head on over
Good morning, Norma.
Thanks, Megan, Paula.
My live feed stalls a while, doesn't play the commercial, shows a short period of nest action, and then it gives me the error notice, saying it can't play the video.
Paula, are you using IE or FF??

Jim, new thread is up.
I am using ie 8, but it works fine for me in ff as well
Just wondering what everyone thinks about the nest, the first egg, are the eggs viable and how many eggs do we think are in the egg cup?
Who are you all wanting to win today?
Go Colts!
One of my friend's team is the Colts and I like their attitude and humility as a team. I also like Peyton.
