The perseverance of these eagles is best noticed today, as the snow continues to fall and the nest continues to accumulate more snow. Remember that this is more than a month earlier than the last time weather caused disaster for the nesting season. Even if they give up on this egg, (which I doubt) there is plenty of time for additional eggs. Keep your fingers crossed.
New thread.

Dang! Didn't know I split
Hope the newbies follow!
Getting snow as well as rain at Norfolk now.

Jim
I hope it doesn't amount to much - maybe just the tail end of ours
Loved yor pictures Wanda.
The snow stopped here around 10 am. We were on the northern edges and only got around 6 inches. Some places near Pittsburgh got 20 or so, near the PA woods turkey cam. I'm hoping for the best for our little family in the nest.
I finally found my e-mail list so you may be getting an invite from me on Facebook.
Lynne D.
Seeing a wiggle wiggle
Maybe the egg has been found
I'm getting live feed. looks and sound very cold to me.
Belle just changed position, facing noonish now. No attempt at an egg roll. Just protecting her egg cup.
I think Belle and Lib need a calendar. Its much too early for an egg.
WOW I kicked myself off the live feed
Trying to get back on....
I've got to get back to work... I'll be back later. Hugs.
Did you read that Mei Lan is not feeding too well since she has landed in China??
Yahoo article.

That is not good news, Jim
Perhaps it will take her a day or two to adjust to the time change...
Winter wonderland at Pix Pa.
lol That is one very large ice cycle
Well, my work day is done! I am gonna go exercise on the Wii Fit a bit and cook some supper. Hope everyone is safe and warm! Love and hugs. Catch ya'll after while!!
thanks paula, tried that but still not working - closest I can get is 'myoutdoortv.com' & the cam window is there but cannot see picture. oh well, will stay with still pic's, better than nothing.
I haven't been able to get back onto the live feed either - Thankful we have the still pic.
I got - cam live now. yippee
Two eagles
Lib just flew in, with all things, a small stick. Belle just took off
Changing of the guard. I can't see an egg cup.
Lib is digging in there.
I don't see the egg...didn't expect too. He is biting at the snow at his feet
Lib just took off to the right
They are both gone - quick someone go shovel off the nest
Which one is that, Paula?
Looks like Belle is back...arrived from the back of the nest
Doug Hill says we're at the "beginning of the end."
watching the two struggling to cope with the situation, and then think about all the animals out there, the littlest songbirds, and the ground dwellers like the rabbits, and wonder how they will all survive.
Though still marveling at how they seem to just take it in stride. Guess we could all learn from them.
Looks like snow has stopped at the nest...it has stopped here for now.
Thought it might be Belle.
Saw the changing of the guard, as well as the snow filled egg cup. Lib did not look willing to sit a while, but Belle is doing her duty. Still want to see a flopping fish!
I have been looking and blogging too much again. When I look up I expect to see snow outside my window. Duh!
I do have to do somethings before going to Michael's tomorrow. Will be back later...gators.
Schicke - I hope all the little creatures have found shelter somewhere...
Still snowing pretty hard here.
I THINK the snow has STOPPED...:) Wind is picking up...:(
Sky getting brighter.
Could be two eggs??
Little birdie was chirping at Belle
Certainly still snowing here. Somebody really needs to hit the off switch. Back out-
HURRAY for electricity!
OMG Belle just laid egg #2
We have egg #2
She shook and made that chirping sound and then moved and there was the egg!
Pray hard for egg #2, I'm not sure what kind of chance it has...
Just watched her look under but turned nothing:(
HEY YA'LL WE HAVE ANOTHER EGG! SHOUTING AS LOUD AS I CAN!!!
It's there Wanda
I HEAR YA
WHOO HOO
OMGm - can that really be a good thing? There's just so much snow and now that wind.. . And I still haven't seen anyone eating.
wiggle wiggle
pray hard, folks
I just saw that egg #2
Oh My! I am praying so much for my eagles' family!
Still can't get live feed...
Thanks Wanda and Paula!
unfreakin believable. bless her heart. i was watching and there it was.
So has the snow let up soem. I don't see it on the live feed now. I do see a very exhausted eagle . I guess I am glad the second egg is here. What a night that poor bird has had :-(. Maybe she can get some rest now.
Pics on EM blog

Boy do I hate that! :(
Wow...what an eventful snow storm!
will Lib bring her a fish?
I am still off the live cam
I did place a pic over on FB since so
many of our bloggers are over there.
Oh, darn. Knew I should not have left. I heard her making a chirping sound, but was feeling guilty for spending so much time on here.
Congratulations Belle and Lib! Let's have a celebration by having a great big flopping fish! Sending up prayers for our two eggs.
I heard you, Paula. Egg #2.
Jo, email Lisa to let her know.
I pray the sun will shine for at least 2 days before egg#3 might be laid.
I know this could be another 2007 season but I pray not!
Ok working on saving the video
I'll send her a pic or two
I did send the email with the pic to Lisa. I know she'll love the video, Paula.
she is moving her bill like chickens do when they're thirsty. probably from stress. poor Belle.
i think she sccooted the egg up between her body and wing.
good. she ate some snow. smart girl.
Oh good grief, Lynn...I never thought of that! What a mess that would have been...but all done now, thank goodness:) My roots have gotten really dark...hate the color. Original color was reddish blonde.
Our birds here are eating snow for their thirst. We don't have a heated birdbath.
OK, video is uploading again to youtube...I screwed up the first time.
Hey did anyone see that? The eagle just got up, looked in the snow and I could swear it rolled an agg and sat back down. OR could it have been a snowball. The nest cup was still all snow so was hard to tell
Wow did Lib bring a fish?
I had the nest off while video was uploading
Yo Candy, we have egg #2
WV Susan, were you the only other one to see it?
Looked like a small bird to me
She is really chowing down
I was so excited Paula that I didn't see what came in.
Sorry people, I have been reading back on the blog to catch up. I didn't know we had number 2
ask and ye shall receive...
http://outdoorchannel.com/player.aspx?id=7890
Link posted to the video on Twitter.
If that were a bird, you would see her plucking feathers.
I sent outdoor channel the pics, too. Thanks for posting the link to the video Sharon...I guess you posted it to mine?
i sure saw it. yippeeeee now, if she can keep this one warm. and WE thought child bearing was a tough job. wow
wHAT'S happening??
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
the little birdies had better stay clear of the nest. Belle is liable to eat them too. that girl is HUNGRY!!!
I just posted it on here but I will on Facebook too.
Oh well, going back to reding the blog, I was almost up to where Paula discovered the second egg. I feel like such a jerk. Oh well, Kindergarten does that to you, but then Lolly seems to be ok. :)
The SUN is coming out!
Don't forget....Shuttle launch is scheduled for 4:39 AM!!
OK, video is posted on the EM blog
http://eagletmomsters.blogspot.com/
Belle called out and Lib was there in a split second with fish for her. What a man, what a mighty fine man.
thanks for the info Susan...there is also a fish buried under the snow....that Lib brought in yesterday
Candy - don't feel like a jerk! You were shouting out about seeing an egg...and you did! I had to shout to let everyone know!
Susan - Lib is a great provider!
Oh, wow, Good for Belle!!! Surely pray that she can keep this one warm and dry. Oh, wow, is all I can think to say!!!
Lol Jack might disagree with you, Candy. He sometimes does not think I am okay,☺
Oh, so happy to see Belle chowing down. Needs that fuel!!!!!
Is blackwater down?
Paula now here comes a question. Even if the new egg is in a snowy egg cup, could Belle's body temp possible heat the snow to warm water to help her keep the egg warm?
It does look like BW lost power.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
ahhhhhh Surely Belle can smell it and knows its there. She was holding out for fresh.
So, Belle is eating a frozen fish. Has she abandoned the eggs?
Is the river frozen? Is Lib having troubles supplying fish?
Boy, these blizzards really wreak havoc sometimes.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
I still have BWE, correct time, but cam pic does not seem to be refreshing....storm is whipping around that area, OC has had a little bit of everything today, snowing there now. It will intensify on the Eastern shore as the storm pulls off the coast
Have you all watched "When Eagles Dream" on the Outdoor Channel site? It is about Lib, Belle and Hidey. Not sure they were correctly identifying the male and female eagles but . . . it is a good video.
Just looked out the front window and there is my son and daughter-in-law shoveling their hearts out at the end of my driveway! You gotta love 'em!
Sharon where on Outdoor do you locate it. I was going to get the CD from Friends of NCTC to help raise money.
Aw, she's napping now.
Saw the video on outdoor channel. good to see they're up to speed...it's the same one I posted!
movin... she's havibng fresh fish that Lib brought
Candy - I don't know if Belle can keep the egg warm enough. Time will tell.
Jim, Lib brought a fresh fish. there is a frozen fish in the nest.
sharon - where is that video? I have a copy...they are selling it for a $10 donation on the NCTC friends website
Thanks Paula
wow, Sharon thanks for sending, 1st time I have seen it, heard about it when Steve posted about its viewing at NCTC last fall.
On Twitter our friend Sandy Burk is
fisherlady 02
I have a copy, too, Paula. Doesn't seem quite fair that we paid for it---donating to Friends of NCTC---and then it's available for free for the world to watch.........
Sharon Could you make a tiny url for me and others? Please, because I am looking all over the outdoor and I can't find it.
Got a very nice phone call from my local paper carrier, too, Margy, just now...APOLOGIZING for not getting paper out! LOL---told her not to even try! She said they weren't even sure if they could publish tonight due to employees not getting in. Told her just to save any missed copies until WHENEVER---it's not like I could get to them anyway.
http://www.outdoorchannel.com/Conservation.aspx
And underneath (if the video doesn't start there) there is "Where Eagles Dream". I just figured I was the only one who hadn't seen it! :)
It has finally stopped snowing here!
no Sharon, you were not the only one, Steve told us the date is was being, aired up at NCTC, and I knew some were ordering or buying it, and good golly , don't know how I missed it when you posted it Paula.
I agree with that Hedgie - seems as though the true purpose of the CD is being defeated......
Thanks Sharon I'll try to view it!
They said it was really good..
can you catch a nap, Megan?
No Sharon Not the only one at all.
Megan Breathe! Take a rest
Cookie Time!
Not yet. Gotta feed the birds, shut off kero heaters and get some more snow off the roof. But tonite...we sleep...
been looking at the cams around our county, of the roads, and you can't see the roads, looks like a partial lane open on part of the beltway, but most are snow-covered, going to take days to clean this mess up before a little more shot of winter comes in Tuesday into Wednesday, but will be nothing like this
well, that's new on their site...
The dream video, I mean...on outdoor channel. they must have put up after the cam went live
Sun is shining here!
Belle is snoozing
Just can't say it enought, bless her heart ♥
Good golly - the sun was trying its best to burst through that grey sky BUT it didn't make it.
Lynn - Sometimes the best can come out of the worst (Phone call from newspaper lady) Makes you certainly appreciate her more just because of the time she took to call you.
Thank you so very much for sharing that information. Sharon I so enjoyed the video. It was fun to see good times and memories at the nest.
Belle got up flapped her wings and flew off to the right
Belle is gone.
still snowing here, but it looks like the sponge is wringing itself out...is that sun I see at the nest.
Cool, saw arrival from way down on the far left....
Bet she had to go take a poop shoot!
I think so, Mits :)
not sure who is on nest but there was quickly a parent back to the eggs.
I think this is Lib
Do you think it could be looking for the other egg? It seems to be going head first down and back
Whoa, eagle diggin up the other egg? Or did the new one fall way down there.
Hi guys,
Our site is down, but don't forget you can see us on www.wildcam.com
You just have to register, but it's free
Is that the other egg?
Wanda - loved the snowy pics around your home.
God is always right on time with blessing us with what we need! :)
thanks for the reminder, Lisa!
Lib is going to dig up the 1st egg and save the day
My live feed went down...saving the video, gonna check and see if Lib dug up the first egg
Does that look like an egg sitting beside her front shoulder?
Wouldn't that take the cake if they found the covered egg and the new one is rolled right with it........
My live feed is still not up
Having a dickens of a time.....
But I won't give up.
Ok, my live feed is back now. Do ya'll see that round thing right by Libs chest?
what a gift a few rays of sunshine would be to that bird and all of us who are watching. Some kind of warmth and comfort for a few minutes. It looks like its trying.
What do you think People?
I hope it is a snowball, Candy! lol
Candy, that's what I'm thinking...gonna go check the video
I see it Paula. Does It look about the right size?
Well seeing the sunshine on either one of them would be a gift. And are you expecting like some melting kind of temps there int he next couple of days. They don't have shovels and snow blowers.
Lib just can't get settled in the snow bowl
Oh it is probably just a piece of frozen sow. The nest bird to enter the nest had better look out before she throws it at him with her beak.lol
I think they know the egg is not warm and they don't know how far down to dig or how to even dig down far enough to get it out of the snow .
no Glo, temps are supposed to be in the teens at night, and in the 30's rest of this week:(
up again...
It was digging pretty far down for awhile. Maaybe she was just ttying to bring up some whet fluff to cover the wnow on the nest.
I am sure I am just tripping but it looks like 2 eggs side by side.
I can't see anything but snow.
there is an egg way down there, I have no clue which one it is...I think the other thing we thought was an egg pulled out is just snow...looks to small. Lib can't seem to get it out of the hole.
belle better get back there quick
Yes, now that she is up it does looklike two eggs down there in the hole.
Is sounds like she is calling out to Liberty to come see or help her.
I can see that as well...
well argh on the temps forecast.
that is Lib calling out for Belle
first snowplow here today....
This is not a good situation....
Gone and calling as it flew off
And now gone.
Can ya'll believe our cam is still up and running through this?
Arrival from the left
This is a very sad situation for egg 1 and sorry to be negative but most likely 2 as well. We need the snow out of the nest to give any new egg a chance.
Eating
Back with dinner or a snack
Must be Belle
I really really really want to be wrong and pleasantly surprised.
I don't see how they can keep egg #2 warm on a bed of snow
But by golly, they are sure trying
Me too, Glo. We'll just have to wait and see what unfolds.
Well, I might be snow blind, but I can only see one little egg, at least I think that is it.
That video was awesome, never saw it before.
Don't know which eagle that was, if it was Belle, I would have thought she would have gotten on the egg
I don't either Paula. This is probably not going to be too popular but I wish they would just give up now and come back next week and reclutch. I know that would be better for us but don't know how they would feel about the idea!
Empty nest is not very reassuring.
I can't see the egg now in this light.
They hae a lot of eagles living in Alaska and they survive up there. it is truly amazing.
We have sun. 2nd egg on Sandra's birthday. Second time this has happened
Maybe next year we couldhave a heated nest that melted the snow as soon as it hit. Sounds like a plan to me
Crap, my video stopped, eagle back...
I guess that was the 'cigar stick' Lib had brought in earlier.
and incubating, I guess...
Still trying to get the egg out of the hole
Sharon, I have to agree...if they attempt to keep incubating the egg(s) for another 5 weeks, then they don't hatch...
I see no sign of an egg now.
The snow has left us and the sun has found us:)
