Okay, I am leaving again. Have not done one thing today. Need to mop some floors, comb my hair, etc. lol I am turning into a Lazyboy potato...closely related to a couch potato.
The commercial for Budweiser last night with the Clydesdale and cow was great. Thought of the blog Can't keep friends apart. thanks again for all the anniversary wishes.
Hi everyone! Happy Anniversary Ceil and Jim. 46 yrs. ago we were planning our October wedding. Wow! how time flies! We all were just kids then weren't we Ceil?
If there are any other celebrations today, please accept my good wishes. I've given up trying to catch up on all the posts.
Is there any good/bad news re our nest today? Looks like they're building another nest cup. Huh??
Steve called, one other guy showed up today. He said his boss told him if he wakes up Wed. AM and there is significant snow on the ground, he isn't coming in, and Steve won't have to either.
Landlord/neighbor came to look at roof on sunporch. He is afraid now to try to remove anything because he might end up poking a hole in the fiberglass. He said we'll cross our fingers and hope for the best....and to remove anything valuable out of there. UGH.
I sure will glad when I can go to drs. Remember Hedgie him saying diabetic neuropathy. Well it sure isn't that. Feels more like I go poison. Tried very old remedy I knew. He gave me Benadryl and some kind of cream. Said it is dry skin. DRY SKIN MY *&()))__*%%$
He'll be seeing me again!!!! From the ankles to about where the top of crew scoks stop.
My neighbor had a fiberglass roof and it caved in during a heavy snow Lynne stay off the porch. Landlord has a poor excuse. Better to get it off and put a hole in it than have it collapse.
Lynne - thanks for the link. Great response from Jack Hanna.
I don't know when Michael starts...apparently he got the job, and then when he had to give them DL and SS info, he must have left his wallet in his dorm room! Can you believe that, was driving without his license! He had to call me real quick for his DL number...so I asked real quick if he got the job, he said he did, and I told him to call me later.
I know Ceil, but it's a tough situation. He and his brother in law are basically taking care of his father in law's house (he's in FLA for the winter), his father in law's other properties (2 apt buildings, a small strip shopping center, and a horse stable) plus us and his own place as well. He's been out plowing and shoveling all weekend and had to take today off from work as well. It's just too much for him and one other person to deal with after this storm.
I've been watching for cracks and none so far. I have dug out the front of the house now so we can use that door. There isn't anything of real value out there and if it goes, it goes. It's all in God's hands now. The only concern is that I have to go right out the door to the porch and make a quick right into the laundry room. So I am doing all the laundry now, just in case!
Thanks Glo I've done that and it doesn't help. At least the Bendryl makes me sleepy and I evelate legs in recliner. Fall asleep that is only way to keep from scratching until I make them bleed.
Good Afternoon... Just got back from GG's, she is doing well and said she ate well. The roads from here to her house are treacherous...bump, bump, slide, slide, look out! look out! Accidents (fender benders) along the way...snow plows everywhere (private ones trying to earn a little extra money). Lord have mercy on us tomorrow and Wednesday and now, I hear that there may be more this weekend! My Karla has had no electricity for two days, and has checked into a motel for 7 days, in the event of snow tomorrow and this weekend! She lives on top of a mountain near Front Royal, Va (Linden, Va)So glad she has decided to do that:)
My only prayer now is that we get blessed enough to make it through another storm with our power on. We've been so lucky so far, and right now, there is very little remaining snow on trees around here which is a good thing!
Just watching weather & TU afternoon storm will continue thru Wed., about 6 PM. The band including DC area will be 6" - 12" and north, Baltimore, etc. could be 12" - 18" . A little deja vu.
Thx Lolly for the Lily Baby Bear video. If Mom was really asleep, could go hug that little sweetie. Lynn, thought Jack Hanna was very diplomatic. Hore they will put Lynn Rogers on Letterman! Paula BIG CONGRATS to Michael!Does he have a semester of school to go? When would they have him start. You must be so proud! So many students graduate & then can't get jobs. Dana, you're probably snoozing now, but hope that gets much better! Could be an allergy? I haven't seen Shorty, our friendly squirrel today! Hope those birds didn't come all the way down here! BBL-gotta see how the corny beef is simmering
Paula, we'd have to use a full sized ladder to get up there and the roof is about 30' x 20', so we'd only be able to get part of it off. The patio doesn't drain efficiently so the melting snow from the roof of the house itself is melting and running under the snow on the porch roof, creating a huge icy mess on the patio that I have to keep going out to clear. It's not just safe to use the ladder out there. Or should I say, it's not worth the risk to Steve or myself to try to do it...I hate to take this attitude, but it's NOT our house to be taking the risk for.
I had a lazy do nothing afternoon. Need to read up as to what you all have been doing. I got this announcement and it's really bad when Washington Cnty MD and Frederick Cnty MD are so far ahead on their planning: Washington County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday and all after-school activities are postponed. Public schools in Frederick County, Md., and Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties in West Virginia also are closed Tuesday.
I see that I did repeat the school closings - Megan and I usually bet on which of our counties is the 1st to announce. Paula it is a feeling of accomplishment and joy when a child says I got the job Mom. I am sure you are anxious to hear the details! Way to go Michael!
Hi, Everyone, Glad to see Belle and Lib in the nest a little while ago--good to see there's fish for dinner.
Sharon and Sissy, sorry to hear of the loss in your family. Prayers for you and yours!
Have been working on my research paper for my Research Skills class again today. Will be glad to finish this one! Must soon go get ready for school, so I can eat dinner without having to rush. Judie, I hope you do stay home tomorrow. A little R&R would be a good thing!
Lynne, hope your patio roof holds. Had to get a bunch of pooled rain water off Sis-in-law's patio awning yesterday--it's not built with a steep enough pitch, and TONS of water gets caught in it. Not a good thing! Have to be careful, or you'll get a big, unpleasant shower! Worked out OK, though.
Well, better run and get ready to go. Will be back after school tonight. Take care, everyone, if you have to go somewhere. Talk to you later! :o]
Shirley, really glad you get to stay home tomorrow, too! Gosh, hope the next storm turns out to be not as bad as they say. You guys have had enough to deal with!
Megan, you're in my prayers, too! No wonder you don't like snow! I really don't blame you!
Paula, congratulations on Michael getting the part time job. Good experience in his field.
Thanks for the report and link to Jack Hanna's comment. I was so disappointed when I could not find anything from him. He made a good statement and all is forgiven. ☺
My bad neighbor is a good guy again....he and another neighbor are snow-blowing my driveway! And they won't take any money for it! Good samaritans. I told them all I needed was a pig-path, but they insist on doing more. I am feeling so blessed. But development has not been done yet, so no mail or papers out there anyway.
Pook says she is down to her last 2 bales of hay and that she will be closing down. She feels the moose for sure will be ok as far as finding their own food. From what I can see she used to stay up/running/feeding thru Feb & March. You may want to go over to read her comments. http://moosewatch.com/?m=201002
Lynn - Men and snow blowers are sometimes like kids with toys but it does happen to bring out the best in people. Hubby and 2 others yesterday were giving a hand to other neighbors who some of them we don't even see except to wave hello as we pass in the car!
Glo Not to worry - I have my meds in house - What I order are the blood glucose test strips. All my meds are still from the local pharmacy. Both of my daughters use mail order for their meds and have been very pleased with delivery and their costs
they were there a few minuts ago but not for long, geese just went by....ordered my meds last Friday, have not been able to get them yet, have to drive out tomorrow, meds are all gone...:(
Glad to hear its the blood glucose strips. That of course is important as well but some are more vital. Goodness Mits I hope you don't have to go too far and you need to get it done before the snow flies. Life without a hubby has kind of taught me a few different times to bite the bullet and get it done. Its not easy but sometimes it is very necessary.
less than a mile Glo, I'm usually much better about ordering them before they run out, but guess even after ordering them was hoping the weathermen were wrong....my bad:)
Just talked with Kathryn. She is bringing Hunter with a supply of extra clothes, etc., just in case he gets snowbound here. Also sending his spelling homework. Part of the homework requires going on the computer and to make a word search puzzle. How things have changed!
Just heard the weather report, and the rainy weather we have been having is the system that is going to give you more snow. Also, looks like we are getting snow on Thursday. Good chance on accumulations. Lovely just lovely!
In the meantime, we are going down into the 20's tonight and we are wet from rain. Ice in the morning!
OK Mits Go get those meds. I think this is a very long winter. I have never felt like this aobut winter before. it has even gotten to me here but knowing how bad it is out east its like geesh lets get this over with and get on with spring. Be safe. I hate that you have more snow coming there for the sake of the humans and the wildlife. argh :-(
I'm with Lynn....I Hate Snow.....it is so nice though to see these power companies come from all over, one guy on news from South Carolina said he has never seen this much snow before...poor guy is probably hoping to go home soon.
especially for the wildlife:(, yes normally winter does not bother me, because we really don't get severe winters like you do out there, Glo, but this is one for the records....
Kathryn said that they had one customer who was very angry that they did not open the shop on time this morning. Oh well, you just can't keep everyone happy.
Glo, have been meaning to tell you. I have a distant cousin who lives in Oregon, IL on the Rock River. In my Christmas card from him he told me
"We are fortunate enough to have many bald eagle right in town, nesting along the riverbank. They are great!"
I am so glad they are admired and appreciated. May just have to go up that way and visit. Have not seen him since I was a young teen. Only in recent years have we gotten back in touch.
Yes, Glo. I pinpointed you on a map and looked up Oregon as well. Looks like a possible road trip for Lolly and Jack.
Paula.....and gang! I am so excited I am about to shout. Heck...I think I will shout! Woweeeeeee! It has been a good day for our Michaels. Ashley just called. Michael won his case!!!!!!! He won big time!!!!! As he said "We kicked their ____!" This was to the tune of 75 million for their client. This is so good for Michael, for his career. We know he is looking to be a partner in the firm. Wowser!!!!!!! We are so excited...so PROUD. This is MY BOY!
Hey there Proud Momma! You just might get a bigger trip on your next b-day than the last one. I am betting that Ashley is also one proud Wife! Little Zach won't know the true meaning of all this celebration until he is older - I am sure he is proud of his daddy no matter what! Congrats!
Just heard a back hoe on the street next to mine. I talked to my neighbor today who is on dialysis and asked how she was going to get there tomorrow. She missed Saturday. She goes 3 times a week. I told her to call the city and tell them and they will clean the street. Yippe they are here. Congrats to Lolly's Michael. Know the feeling when you win a big case. I do miss that part of the job. He will make partner soon.
My live feed is up/running but I can't tell for sure but I don't have sound. I know the wind isn't blowing but no plows and no trains do I hear. Not even much of a hum.....
YO no silver alerts or even slightly greying ones...I'm home.
hopping on to say HI, roads are totally miserable, might end up back at work anytime, shower is in order now. I was 12 when Ceil and Jimmy and got married. Old enough to have caught the bouquet. ☺ ♥ I'll try to read all about the day in awhile, for now, I Hope all are well, best wishes for a safe evening, and see you after the bubbles. (I hope). I haven't read any of the new thread posts exc to see that Ceil was first once again... xoxo ♥
Schools in Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties in West Virginia will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to inclement weather, school officials announced this evening.
Yes, sitting here with a big grin. As for Zach, he will just be happy to have his daddy home. Michael has been in San Antonio for the last month, and working long hours before that, like New Years Day. Michael has been coming home only for one day on the weekends. Also, he needs rest. Has been working such long hours. One night when I talked with him, he said he was going to be up til 3. Yesterday was so good to see him, but he looked really tired. One of the partners of the firm was at his house yesterday for a very short period of time....he had bags under his eyes. But, this was Michael's baby. When he came to this firm he brought this case. Also, before Christmas they had said they wanted Michael to handle another case. Oh, this is so good. And wish you guys knew my Michael. He is so funny with his wise cracks and such a laid back guy. He has beautiful suits, but prefers his shorts that huge holes. Truly!
I gave the eagle cam links to my gd in Hedgesville - she has been showing to her 6, 5 and 3 yr olds. Donavon isn't a year old yet but he knows what an eagle looks like should you ask him.
So I gave gd the story about our 2 eggs Anthony (5yr old) had his mother to send me this message...
Dear mema, What a sad story about their eggs in the snow. We will say a prayer for the eagles and her eggs, everyday. I love you, Anthony Here is the kicker - Anthony is in charge of gathering eggs from their 4 hens. The one little one hadn't laid any eggs - Every meal time or bedtime prayer concluded with Anthony praying for an egg. We He got it! PTL
YIPPEE!!!! Park Dir. called & said he learned Park & Planning Commission has liberal leave ffor tomorrow, so he's closing the Park!!! I would have loved to go, but our maintenance dir. said Rt. 301, a main hwy., is terrible-only one lane and very rough. I am so tired of watching those closing crawls on TV! Lolly, congrats to your Michael, too! What a feat!
Yepper - I knew that but it is nice that you knew it too!
You keeping the heat up high in the gh? I bet you think there isn't any sign of relief with the news of the new storm. This has been one wicked winter! Guess we'll remember it when it doesn't rain for weeks upon weeks.
We'll start heating up house tomorrow. Hoping to get out and get more kero, we'll see, so far we still can't get out of the driveway. I'm missing my 4 wheel drive now.
Very well could be, Loretta. Once I had a feather lying on my table and he picked it up and said 'that's a red tail hawk' feather. My mouth sorta flew wide open because he hit it right on the head.
Judie, it does do something to the syllabus, doesn't it?
It also hurts the momentum.
When I put assignments on the board, kids were saying, "We aren't going to be here!" I couldn't exactly say that I was going to cancel all plans because snow was predicted.
Of course, we will have make-up days. I have heard that if we miss more than 10 days, we can ask to be exempted from the 180-day requirement.
I remember when I was in undergraduate school that one of my professors thanked us for coming to class on a snowy day. I was surprised. I'd never been thanked for attending class before. Of course, all I had to do was walk across the campus from my dorm.
Ok caught up. Sharon I am sorry to hear of your sister-in-law's father's death...prayers for the family, Paula and Lolly great news about your respective Michals Lolly, that was a nice link on Michael. Glad to hear that GG is doing well. Jo, so enjoyed your stories about Anthony ♥
I've been hunched over a keyboard for 12+ hours and can't do it anymore much tonight.
Am glad to read all the Eagle activity, wish I could say more about all the posts, I really do, but I am mis-typing every other word. I'm done. Oh yes, one more round of Happy Anniversary wishes for Ceil and Jimmy ♥
Good Night, Rest Well, Be Careful and God Bless Us, Every One xo ☺ ♥
Gonna finish straightening up kitchen-----got important email from lady Naturalist at Park. Our Div. Chief,Anthony Nolan, only 40+ish had a heart attack! It took 45 minutes for a plow to escort EM to his house! He had one stent put in but had a 2nd blockage. Don't know what they did about that. He's small guy, not overweight, and as sweet as can be. Has a little daughter about 4. I wonder if he was shoveling!!! And to think Park Dir. said nothing! Gonna watch some TV & pray! Pleasant Feather Dreams to all those hitting the hay ;>)
Having trouble staying awake this evening. Praying that this newest forecast is a total washout!! Missed you again, Margy. Hope you are sleeping soundly.
Looks like everyone is turning in. I will be as soon as I get my bath. Loretta, so sorry about your friend. Yep, probably shoveling! Hope his recovery is complete. Prayers for all. Mits, hope Jay is able to come home early...otherwise, you might not see him for a week...and really don't want you to be alone for too long!
Goodnight, sweet fowl friends. Andy and Jim, please close up shop!!!
It is now 12:25am and there are no eagles in the nest. I am thinking that is a good thing. Belle must not be planning on another egg until they complete their renovations. Maybe by then, the snow will not be a threat.
Happy for the MICHAELS Mommies. Like Lynne said, jobs are hard to find right now, so Paula's son must be very special to land that job:) Lolly's Michael will have a lot of long days ahead of him...good lawyers get lots of work. Hope he gets time off inbetween cases to rest up:)
Jo's Anthony is a real sweetheart...just melted my heart reading his note to her. What a special family she has. Mail order meds is the only way to go. I have been using that method for years for GG and myself. NOW, they pharmacy calls and reminds me that it is time to reorder and if I say YES (to a machine) they send me the meds automatically. That takes a lot of work and worry off of my shoulders (always afraid I would forget something and run out)! Past bedtime.
GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS SLEEP WELL PRAYERS FOR ALL
There were so many things on the blog from yesterday that I didn't have a chance to say anything about; illnesses, folks without power, worries about medicines, good deeds amongst neighbors... bright and encouraging thoughts amongst all of us, and worries about the weather that will affect so many of us. I read it all, and Please know that I care, I pray, and will have you ALL in my thoughts as the day continues. I'm hoping to make it back to my roost tonight...if I don't it means there is much going on at 911 and I might just have to use that sleeping bag that has been in my car since last Friday... soon as I get home, this will be my first stop Best wishes for a safe and peaceful day. Heading out soon, better sign off now xo
There appears to be no eagle in our nest. But the egg cup area looks nearly ready to use, should Belle be needing it soon. She should be able to handle the 1"-2" of snow predicted for today (later in the day).
I wonder, but don't know, if they will be able to replace the two lost eggs. And, if they can, will it be a continuation of the present clutch or will they have to start the whole last couple of weeks over again.
It would be a lot handier if the third egg became the first egg of an extended clutch, but I don't know if that's possible in eagle world.
I am supposed to be collecting money for a field trip planned for March. I'm thinking that I need to call my students and remind them to bring the money on the first day back because we need to meet the deadline for buying tickets. Will pointed out that if I mail them letters, they might not get them any time soon. However, we aren't going to be seeing each other before the mails can go through, either. I will have to go to the post office since our mailbox is not any where near dug out.
We are planning to go to Medieval Times in MD. It's a fun trip for seniors.

another little ditty from the Montgomery County Solid Waste Division....
Frosty-white and cold it lies Underneath the fretful skies; Snowflakes flutter where the red Banners of the poppies spread, And the drifts are wide and deep Where the lilies fell asleep.
But the sunsets o'er it throw Flame-like splendor, lucent glow, And the moonshine makes it gleam Like a wonderland of dream, And the sharp winds all the day Pipe and whistle shrilly gay.
Safe beneath the snowdrifts lie Rainbow buds of by-and-by; In the long, sweet days of spring Music of bluebells shall ring, And its faintly golden cup Many a primrose will hold up.
Though the winds are keen and chill Roses' hearts are beating still, And the garden tranquilly Dreams of happy hours to be In the summer days of blue All its dreamings will come true.
Pretty poem, Helen. I don't want to be outdone....WANDA'S POOPER DOOPER POOPER SCOOPER WASTE CO. will have to submit a poem. I'm thinking?? Nothing in my head...maybe later:)
Good question Jim, I was wondering the same thing. Jim, did I read yesterday about your Firefox crashing? I used to love FF but it crashes at least once or twice a day now and today it is so sluggish I went back to IE.
Lolly, I was wondering the same thing about that hawk...but he also looked kind of ragged, too. I know it's not unusual for a hawk to go after carrion, but leftovers from a sharp-shinned bird kill (poor woodpecker!) seems almost desperate in a yard full of bird.
my current train (OOOOPS shhhhh, don't wake Sharon up) of thought is that this week will be the last of it and then we will get a beautiful early spring. I don't care what that stupid groundhog says.
Good morning all. Sun was out but gone already had my hopes up that weatherman was wrong. Lynne great video. We need a new video cam. Loretta sorry to hear about your friend. Prayers that he recovers. BBL need breakfast Split will be coming soon
Refilled bird feeders again. This time I put them closer to the back door. I think the birds will find them. The snow is getting too deep for me, but I was able to walk on top of it this morning.

Glad to see you back, Dana. Did you see my message to you yesterday?? Blog away, gal, blog away!! It won't cause a power outage!!
Good Judie! Glad you got to see it.
Okay, I am leaving again. Have not done one thing today. Need to mop some floors, comb my hair, etc. lol I am turning into a Lazyboy potato...closely related to a couch potato.
BBL
Washington & Frederick county schools are closed tomorrow
Roof, Roofs
Hoof, Hooves
Sorry about the loss in your family, Sharon.
Our Terps beat Candy's Tar Heels yesterday!
Belle still in the nest, guarding her lunch, or maybe just enjoying the sunshine and nice weather.
the sun here feels really good, keep going to the window:)
Wow that is a beautiful eagle in our nest
The commercial for Budweiser last night with the Clydesdale and cow was great. Thought of the blog Can't keep friends apart. thanks again for all the anniversary wishes.

Michael got the job :)
Belle eating
yea for Michael:):):)!
That's great news, Paula! Congrats to Michael!
Congratulations to Michael!
Big congrats to Michael! :)
haven't had a chance to read back but in case you haven't seen:
Jack Hannah Bear Response
Congrats to Michael.
Lynne that was great of Jack to respond and admit that he was wrong.
Thanks, Lynne. I am happy to see he responded.
Way to go, Michael!!!! When does he start???
see Jack you learn something new everyday...
Check out the yellow beak on Belle :)
Yellow beak and feet are signs of good health :)
Very smart of Jack to post that response!!! Thanks, Lynn!
She is watching something, she just took off to the right
I thank him. Now to contact Letterman for a retraction. Sure he will do that
Paula just read where Michael got the job...........WAY TO GO MICHAEL
....very HAPPY FOR HIM Paula.
Mits, I think we will all be crying if these newer predictions come true...........guess what? I HATE SNOW. Did anyone know that??
Congrats to Paula's Michael. Jobs are hard to find and wish him the best of luck.
Read Jack Hanna's response - great. We all learn something new everyday.
... later
Paula, that's great news about Michael's new job!
There are wooden cross beams so any collapse would be the fiberglass caving in between, not a total collapse, hopefully
Oh Dana, that sound awful! I hope you can get out and see him soon!
Huh Paula I just looked in the mirror ---I don't have a yellow beak and looking down I don't have yellow feeties.....I MUST BE IN BAD HEALTH
My neighbor had a fiberglass roof and it caved in during a heavy snow
Lynne stay off the porch.
Dana, I do hope you don't have a yellow beak and yellow feeties. If you do, call 911!
Dana elevate your legs
Snow has to leave sometime, well I think so???
Well ladies the Bendryl is starting to work aggain so back to the recliner I go. See ya later.
Please everyone be careful out there, if you have to go out.
what about a warm bath with Aveeno Oatmeal soak, Dana?
I'm glad to hear GG is doing well. Maybe she out to come and stay with you for a few days in light of this next storm and the condition of the roads.
Good move on Karla's part. I guess it sucks to not be at home but there is a lot to be said for hot water and heat!!
Kathryn said that Tom's parents in Luray have been without power for some time. They are resourceful people, but I feel for them.
Congratulations to Paula's Michael.
My only prayer now is that we get blessed enough to make it through another storm with our power on. We've been so lucky so far, and right now, there is very little remaining snow on trees around here which is a good thing!
Dana, stop with the crew socks!!! Impede circulation. Full length support hosiery is the only way to go.No knee highs allowed, either!
Too bad that Karla has to endure the expense of as motel. I am very much afraid that things are going to get worse before they get better, kids.
I'm heading for the sofa.....two middle-of-the-nighters is catching up!
Just watching weather & TU afternoon storm will continue thru Wed., about 6 PM. The band including DC area will be 6" - 12" and north, Baltimore, etc. could be 12" - 18" . A little deja vu.
I'm heading back out for one more "ice busting" round on the patio before dark.
Lynne - can you get a stepladder outside and remove any of the snow with a broom or one of those brushes you use on a car?
Dana- is it psoraisis?
Lots of good melting at the nest, you can see all the edge of the nest right under the cam.
Eagle back with something
A fish and possibly something else in the nest!
Lib brought in the fish, been working on the egg cup and now Belle is there to eat the fish! What a man he is!
Eagles at nest
crunch crunch
Lib is still there...watch for HP
BTW, that looks like rabbit legs in the nest to me...
Michael's job is part time, he is in his last semester. Could lead to full time after graduation. And if it doesn't it's a good start in his field.
I got this announcement and it's really bad when Washington Cnty MD and Frederick Cnty MD are so far ahead on their planning:
Washington County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday and all after-school activities are postponed. Public schools in Frederick County, Md., and Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties in West Virginia also are closed Tuesday.
Belle seems to be rebuilding her strength after the awful past few days.
Man, can Belle pack it away or what?
Lib is back
Just got the call. No school tomorrow. No surprise, to say the least.
Oh I hear ya, Lynne. Wasn't sure how big the room was. That's too big to tackle for sure.
Can sure see a full crop on Belle
Hope your landlord has homeowner's insurance, Lynne.
Hope your landlord has homeowner's insurance, Lynne.
Sorry about that. Trying to update the live cam and post at the same time.
Lib just took off
She sure can - and HAS packed it away today!
I see that I did repeat the school closings - Megan and I usually bet on which of our counties is the 1st to announce.
Paula it is a feeling of accomplishment and joy when a child says I got the job Mom. I am sure you are anxious to hear the details! Way to go Michael!
Hi, Everyone,
Glad to see Belle and Lib in the nest a little while ago--good to see there's fish for dinner.
Oops--almost forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS to Paula's son, Michael! Way to go! That's wonderful! BBL....
Shirley, really glad you get to stay home tomorrow, too! Gosh, hope the next storm turns out to be not as bad as they say. You guys have had enough to deal with!
Megan, you're in my prayers, too! No wonder you don't like snow! I really don't blame you!
Heading home, gotta go check some gutters and the sump pump drain...
Later!
Have a roast in the crockpot - lid stayed intact the entire cooking time.
Dana - hope you get your feetsies feeling better soon.
We haven't had mail delivery and I am looking for some meds to be arriving.
Sure hope the mail service is up/running tomorrow.
Snowing really hard here now. Gosh MeMa Jo I surely hope you do get those meds. That has me kind of concerned. Maybe think aobut a plan 2 in case.
Glo Not to worry - I have my meds in house - What I order are the blood glucose test strips.
All my meds are still from the local pharmacy. Both of my daughters use mail order for their meds and have been very pleased with delivery and their costs
Night light is on.........
Nest is MT
they were there a few minuts ago but not for long, geese just went by....ordered my meds last Friday, have not been able to get them yet, have to drive out tomorrow, meds are all gone...:(
Think I will make a grocery store run tomorrow. I stocked up on my essential meds before, thank goodness. I have a pretty good supply.
Might have Hunter tomorrow. Tom was home with him today.
Heard the geese again!
OK Mits Go get those meds. I think this is a very long winter. I have never felt like this aobut winter before. it has even gotten to me here but knowing how bad it is out east its like geesh lets get this over with and get on with spring. Be safe. I hate that you have more snow coming there for the sake of the humans and the wildlife. argh :-(
Interesting...no eagle in the nest.
I'm with Lynn....I Hate Snow.....it is so nice though to see these power companies come from all over, one guy on news from South Carolina said he has never seen this much snow before...poor guy is probably hoping to go home soon.
off to eat dinner...bbl.
especially for the wildlife:(, yes normally winter does not bother me, because we really don't get severe winters like you do out there, Glo, but this is one for the records....
I guess that I should have said Wax.
Yep Shirley, you got WAX.
Oh Lolly that would be cool Come to visit. I have heard of Oregon. Will have to look and see how far awy from me that is.
Lolly Looks like Oregon is like 2 to 2 1/2 hours northeast of me in very pretty country .
Shirley - I would probably put another dent in that car if I would have been
Kathryn. lol
She said he demanded to know why they did not take home a list of customer names and phone numbers so they could call everyone.
Of course, he might have called them.
I can see you whacking that car with your eagle cane, Jo!
Congratulations, Lolly! I am happy for you and for Michael.
Good day for the Michaels.
Hey there Proud Momma! You just might get a bigger trip on your next b-day than the last one. I am betting that Ashley is also one proud Wife!
Little Zach won't know the true meaning of all this celebration until he is older - I am sure he is proud of his daddy no matter what!
Congrats!
Have I told you all that I love
Happy News!
Wow, Lolly, awesome news! That's a huge award.
congrats to Michael.
that's good news, Ceil, hope she can get out tomorrow...
ate some dinner, took a nice shower, know going to watch House.
YO
no silver alerts or even slightly greying ones...I'm home.
hopping on to say HI,
roads are totally miserable,
might end up back at work anytime, shower is in order now.
I was 12 when Ceil and Jimmy and got married. Old enough to have caught the bouquet. ☺ ♥
I'll try to read all about the day in awhile,
for now, I
Hope all are well, best wishes for a safe evening, and see you after the bubbles. (I hope).
I haven't read any of the new thread posts exc to see that Ceil was first once again...
xoxo ♥
Talk about planning ahead
Truly!
Hmmm I think I need to change my name to Michael. Congrats to the proud moms :-)
I gave the eagle cam links to my gd in Hedgesville - she has been showing to her 6, 5 and 3 yr olds. Donavon isn't a year old yet but he knows what an eagle looks like should you ask him.
So I gave gd the story about our 2 eggs
Anthony (5yr old) had his mother to send me this message...
Dear mema, What a sad story about their eggs in the snow.
We will say a prayer for the eagles and her eggs, everyday.
I love you, Anthony
Here is the kicker - Anthony is in charge of gathering eggs from their 4 hens. The one little one hadn't laid any eggs - Every meal time or bedtime prayer concluded with Anthony praying for an egg. We He got it! PTL
Aw...that is the sweetest story. And those kids are all adorable:) but you knew that...
YIPPEE!!!! Park Dir. called & said he learned Park & Planning Commission has liberal leave ffor tomorrow, so he's closing the Park!!!
Oh, Jo. That is a marvelous story! Maybe we have another naturalist in the making! ☺
Oh, congratulations to Lolly's Michael, that is great news, and I can tell you are very proud.
I am trying to catch up here.
Good sound now on my Live Feed
MT nest
Aircraft going over
Waiting for the whistle of the Train!
Been on the phone forever and wiping doggies feet. Finally time for some bean soup...gotta have something to go with my corn muffins :)
I agree Jo, live feed very quiet!
Cute story about Anthony, Jo.
Lolly, you deserve to be a very proud momma, and Jo a proud MeMa! And, of course, Paula, too. COngrats all around for smart kids/grands.
Nargy, glad your day is over.....get thee to bed. We will be here whenever!!
Megan Can't someone with a 4 wheel drive bring you some kerosene?
What is that noise on live feed now?
Lolly, am I right to assume that Michael practices corporate law??
cute story, Jo;)
Testing my IE.....
Speaking of being proud of our kids, I just got a picture on Facebook that Kelsey took of Andrew with his Buffalo Princess Crown on. :) Love that kid!
Yes, corporate law...litigation. Ashley does corporate bankruptsy.
Just think Mits Soon very soon you will have some very cute stories to share!
I liked the video when Annie was holding Maggie and when the microphone came towards her I heard that NO as she pulled away from it! So cute!
I'll need to check that one out!
Happy that Mattie Jane's cat
came home!
OK Help! Never had this befor but on IE I get it with every comment I publish..
How do I turn off the security....?
Ha,ha...MARGY has a new name. Bad typist!! I always said at work that typing was NOT in the nursing curriculum!!
Said something wrong...Michael is already partner, what he is hoping for is is to be a Name partner.
Jo,
Go to
tools
Internet options
security tab
custom level
under miscellaneous, find
allow mixed content
enable
Thanks Mits! I'll do it now.
I hope it worked
My Michael
This is my Michael.
JO:
Go to Tools
then Internet Options
then Security Tab, then Custom
Then go down to Miscellaneous and then to display Mixed Content, click Enable...
test for Sharon
And it worked!
Well, how's this: I cancel my classes and GW cancels classes. Guess my students don't think I'm so awesome now.
Lolly, I think you have a Denny Crane for a son. Congratulations. I'm sure this will make a huge impact on his making partner.
Jo, wonder how Anthony comes by his sweetness?
Ceil, hope your neighbor gets to dialysis. Two days without would not be good.
Wanda, maybe it is a good idea to bring GG to your place with more s___ on the way.
Margy, glad you're home and hope you get to stay there.
Larada, enjoy having a day to yourself.
Shirley, enjoy the day with Hunter. Days off are great BUT trying to cover the needed material gets to be a challenge for me.
Later
Thanks, Lolly! Good short version of Michaels' CV!! Impressive.
Loretta, hard to picture 301 in that bad a condition. Glad you get to stay home!!!
Judie It all depends on who canceled first!
I am going to have to call it quits for the day.
Good night friends.
God bless.
I remember when I was in undergraduate school that one of my professors thanked us for coming to class on a snowy day. I was surprised. I'd never been thanked for attending class before. Of course, all I had to do was walk across the campus from my dorm.
Going in to watch Damages on TV
BBL
Ok caught up.
Sharon I am sorry to hear of your sister-in-law's father's death...prayers for the family,
Paula and Lolly great news about your respective Michals
Lolly, that was a nice link on Michael.
Glad to hear that GG is doing well.
Jo, so enjoyed your stories about Anthony ♥
I've been hunched over a keyboard for 12+ hours and can't do it anymore much tonight.
Am glad to read all the Eagle activity,
wish I could say more about all the posts, I really do, but I am mis-typing every other word. I'm done.
Oh yes, one more round of Happy Anniversary wishes for Ceil and Jimmy ♥
Good Night, Rest Well, Be Careful
and God Bless Us, Every One xo ☺ ♥
And I am going to bed. Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur! Love you lots!
good night all, take care, and get a good night's rest...:)
Just stopping in to again say thanks again for the wishes for our anniversary. Pleasant dreams
Goodnight Mits, Margy, Sharon and those to follow.
Maybe my students will give me credit as I canceled first.
This I have done in the past: "Thank you for being here with me ladies and gentlemen. Your absent classmates are a bunch of wimps."
Think I will watch the news and then get some sleep. Would like to get out tomorrow to visit a purveyor of food but...
Pleasant eagle dreams for all.
Shirley - they do that exemption thing here too...happened back in 1996 I think, the blizzard of 96
Finished the TV show - MTBR next week
Nest is MT
I have been working on another tray of slides tonight. Enjoyed some really good ones. Up to 1972.
Going to put my nose in my kindle now. Well, it is not a book. lol
See where a lot of you have headed to bed. Nite! Sweet dreams of sunshine, warmth, and beautiful flowers! HUGS!
Headed down the hallway
Loretta sorry about your friend and
pray that this will extend his life.
Good Night All and Prayers for All
((hugs)) ♥ ♥ ♥
I'm not going to mention the 'S' word -------- night
MT nest
GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Loretta, so sorry about your friend, and prayers for speedy recovery.
Andy, Jim...you all in for more rain out there?
Here is an awesome video
Sharp-shinned and Redtailed Hawks
Lynne, that video was great! Makes one think it has had interaction with humans before.
Have edited and emailed tonights pics from some of the slides. Now to bed.
Again...Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Good Morning
Nest is empty
xo
There were so many things on the blog from yesterday that I didn't have a chance to say anything about;
illnesses, folks without power, worries about medicines, good deeds amongst neighbors...
bright and encouraging thoughts amongst all of us, and worries about the weather that will affect so many of us. I read it all, and
Please know that I care, I pray, and will have you ALL in my thoughts as the day continues.
I'm hoping to make it back to my roost tonight...if I don't it means there is much going on at 911 and I might just have to use that sleeping bag that has been in my car since last Friday...
soon as I get home, this will be my first stop
Best wishes for a safe and peaceful day.
Heading out soon, better sign off now
xo
And God Bless all our creatures of the Wild....special thoughts of course for Belle and Liberty....

I'm up in the early hours...
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Good morning!
It sounds strange when they say "only 10 to 20 inches of snow."
Sorry to read about your friend, Loretta. Hope his recovery is complete and rapid.
Good Tuesday a.m. everyone, Loretta sorry to read about your friend, prayers for him.

another little ditty from the Montgomery County Solid Waste Division....
Frosty-white and cold it lies
Underneath the fretful skies;
Snowflakes flutter where the red
Banners of the poppies spread,
And the drifts are wide and deep
Where the lilies fell asleep.
But the sunsets o'er it throw
Flame-like splendor, lucent glow,
And the moonshine makes it gleam
Like a wonderland of dream,
And the sharp winds all the day
Pipe and whistle shrilly gay.
Safe beneath the snowdrifts lie
Rainbow buds of by-and-by;
In the long, sweet days of spring
Music of bluebells shall ring,
And its faintly golden cup
Many a primrose will hold up.
Though the winds are keen and chill
Roses' hearts are beating still,
And the garden tranquilly
Dreams of happy hours to be
In the summer days of blue
All its dreamings will come true.
– Lucy Maud Montgomery, The Garden in Winter
nice to get your trash updates with a little class:)
got things to do...BBL
oh boy, we are gonna do it all over again, we are stuck on groundhog day. Pass the bucket.....
It's deja vu all over again!!
National Weather forecast for our area-
A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM
EST WEDNESDAY.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS...10 TO 20 INCHES.
* TIMING...MID-AFTERNOON TODAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
Pretty poem, Helen. I don't want to be outdone....WANDA'S POOPER DOOPER POOPER SCOOPER WASTE CO. will have to submit a poem. I'm thinking?? Nothing in my head...maybe later:)
Good morning all!
I know it's not unusual for a hawk to go after carrion, but leftovers from a sharp-shinned bird kill (poor woodpecker!) seems almost desperate in a yard full of bird.
yeah Megan, deja vous all over again. I'm so proud and thrilled to be a part of this record breaking winter.
Yeah, Lynne me too, I'm just giddy with excitement...or maybe it's just nausea.
my current train (OOOOPS shhhhh, don't wake Sharon up) of thought is that this week will be the last of it and then we will get a beautiful early spring. I don't care what that stupid groundhog says.
Around here we never listen to groundhogs, we just shoot them...
Good morning all. Sun was out but gone already had my hopes up that weatherman was wrong.
Lynne great video. We need a new video cam.
Loretta sorry to hear about your friend. Prayers that he recovers.
BBL need breakfast
Split will be coming soon
Refilled bird feeders again. This time I put them closer to the back door. I think the birds will find them. The snow is getting too deep for me, but I was able to walk on top of it this morning.
Split time!
