Costume Lady said...

lOOKS LIKE I'm not alone...always more fun watching with a group:)

normabyrd said...

isn't that BELLE?

Costume Lady said...

I think it is Belle, Norma....but a little hard to tell with her all scrunhed up like that.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' WANDA & MEGAN!---isn't it exciting??????????

normabyrd said...

normabyrd said...

HEY!! BLUEFIELD SHARON!!---we have an EAGLE in the nest!!!!

magpie said...

lots of birdie sounds ♪

stronghunter said...

We have a special program at school today on college, so the schedule is changed around. I have to get my brain arranged for that.

It looks like it might start snowing by afternoon. Could be an interesting day.

I do hope our eagles hold off on the egg laying for awhile. Mid-February might be much better.

Costume Lady said...

Now that she got up and fly away, I would say it was Belle.
BACK!

magpie said...

Hope the day goes well Shirley....

Eagle left and returned...

live feed for me, hear things way before I see them :(

magpie said...

When the eagle first came, it was long and slender like Belle....but I am not very good at knowing

Costume Lady said...

Straighten up that nest girl, it is a MESS! You need more soft fluff, too.

Costume Lady said...

Wish Shirley could help me get my brain arranged:)
Hope you have no weather problems, lady...be careful.

stronghunter said...

Well, the college program has been postponed, but out back to school program for tonight is still on as of now. It's at 6:00. I am sure they will call it off if we have more snow.

stronghunter said...

Not "out" back--our back to school night. We have it for every semester because we have new classes starting in January.

magpie said...

the few pictures I got are not conclusive to me as to whether it was Belle or Liberty...didn't get the long slender shot

I need to rearrange my brain AND my nest...

BBL

xo Best Wishes, all, for a good day..

stronghunter said...

Been having lots of problems with starlings eating up all of my bird feed.

Costume Lady said...

I wonder where that beautiful property is that is shown during the commercil on outdoor channel.
We could all chip in and buy it, then have a Road Trip there as often as possible. Buy a modular house and spend weekends there! YES?

Costume Lady said...

Margy, I think a session with Shirley and Judie, would help us tremendously. Wonder what they would charge?

stronghunter said...

It is beautiful, isn't it, Wanda? As ads go, it isn't a bad one, which is good, because I hit the refresh button so often.

magpie said...

Not sure, Wanda....we might get a Momsters Discount ☺

wow that was a pile of little black birds in our nest a few mins ago..

Norfolk Eagle looks awesome this morning...

checking a few sites here and there...

Costume Lady said...

Shirley, starlings eat our suet and it is gone as though they were baricudas...in a flash.
Then they poop shoot all over our rock garden and steps leading to the woods. I can't clean it because I am allergic to bird poop.
Poor Gene!

stronghunter said...

What? Huh? What do you want me to do?

stronghunter said...

I kept sticking my head out and yelling at the starlings yesterday, but they came back. Greedy and rude things.

Costume Lady said...

All I ever get at NBG is a black screen and some foul mouthed nimcompoop, low life.

floralgirl said...

We put a piece of metal (homemeade bird baffle)over the top of our suet cage so starlings can't get on it. Only woodpeckers can hang upside down, so the starlings can't get to the suet. Before that they would come in giant flocks and eat all the suet.

stronghunter said...

I am getting a nice shot of the eagle on the nest at NBG.

magpie said...

Osprey at Dunedin looks wet and restless

some long tailed blackbirds at BWO

Costume Lady said...

I'll have to try that, Megan:)

magpie said...

DEER AND TURKEYS AT PIX PA !

NICE

magpie said...

NICE GOBBLER

stronghunter said...

Six more weeks of winter!

My mother once said that she would be happy with only six more weeks of winter.

magpie said...

One of the gobblers maybe both ambled off...animals seem skittish this morning there

magpie said...

I can hear the turkey chortling and scratching and he's coming back

magpie said...

THAT was a tom gobbling !!

Costume Lady said...

Megan, do you want to go in with us on buying that property offered by the Outdoor people? You could be our gardner, Gene could be the cook, Shirley could teach us better english, Judie could make us laugh, Margy could be on the alert for danger, we would all contribute our talents...haven't figured out mine yet:( I am having Deja Vous.

stronghunter said...

Eagle in our nest.

stronghunter said...

Judie could protect us from criminals while making us laugh. Remember all of her friends among the police!

Eagle poofed.

stronghunter said...

I hate to think how much that beautiful land would cost.

magpie said...

turkeys in full strut at Pix Pa

normabyrd said...

Take notes kids!---I have W/CTR today--want to go early---in case we get the snow/rain around noon time!!!----CURSES!!

ps---that is WESTVACO land---they sell in hundred/thousand acres at a time---They just sold several acres in our area---

later...

floralgirl said...

Sorry, Wanda, my piggy bank is mt.

magpie said...

And here come the Lady turkeys...didn't think they were showing off for each other

loud siren going off must be firehouse signal

magpie said...

This is the best sound and sight I have ever seen at Pix Pa....

magpie said...

oooh switched to crow at carcass site for a minute

now if those turkeys would just HP on here

stronghunter said...

Could I have the address for Pix Pa? It was wiped off my computer.

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Guess I'd better pull up the nest and see which eagle is there LOL. Actually I have to shovel a little and head on over for coffee and dog treats. 6 more weeks of winter means 6 more weeks to hopefully see some eagles and get their pictures. I can deal with that. I do hope they are right about the numbers being better for Feb as they head back north to their nests and stop around here a few days and eagles at a time. Have a good day. Eyes to the nest.

magpie said...

Shirley:

Pix Pa

You got to see this !
17 or 18 hens, three or four gobblers...

Hi Glo !

magpie said...

It was funny to watch the deer scatter when the toms were gobbling......

all the classic turkey sounds....
girls are more interested in feeding than romance it seems

sure freezes up the computer though for me

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Margy.

George is watching a squirrel on the back porch. Exciting for him.

I do need to think about getting ready for work.

stronghunter said...

We'll be reading Beowulf today. I have a Power Point of flames so we can pretend we are sitting around the fire at the mead hall listening to a scop tell the story. A fire sounds like a good plan for the day.

magpie said...

Wanda
YOU can take pictures of all of us executing our duties....
(regarding your earlier delegation of duties to us....)

Pix Pa gets A + + + marks from me this morning, colors and sights and sounds the best ever !

Lolly - your avatar is GREAT !!!

Hate to turn away from all this , but I really need to get some things done...

TTFN xo
