good morning eagle buddies. i hope to see Glo's eagle photo soon
I did NOT take the picture on my profile. I think someone sent it in one of those e-mails with unique animal pictures.
I'm off soon to a potluck lunch meeting. I cheated this time and am taking a Stoffer's lasagne which I just got into the oven. Didn't feel like cooking today, just eating!!
Good Morning Everyone! I guess by comments, Belle & Lib haven't stopped by this AM. Was just watching Lily the bear and she has snowflakes falling on her while she's curled up in her den.
Bird inventory this morning - 2 yellow-bellied sapsuckers, white-throated sparrows, starlings (my personal favs), dark-eyed juncos, nuthatches, eastern bluebird (in the tree but not at the feeders), blue jays, mourning doves, chickadees, downy woodpecker, goldfinches, red bellied woodpeckers and cardinals. Okay, I think that is it for now. More will be revealed!
The Eagle Express is all ready for it's Road Trip. COME ONE COME ALL! I'm so excited, have heard so much about CONOWINGO...want to see it:) You too? Well, come on!
That's a good bird list, we have a lot of the same birds. I have not seen sapsuckers this year, though. The pileated woodpecker has been in the yard trying to get holly berries.
WAAAAA! I wanna go so bad too, but my Sat. to work---BOOOOOO! I thought about going up Sunday, but it's supposed to rain, then I thought about Monday. It's a holiday, so wonder about traffic :>(
Well it did for sure make me duck quick You know the speed they move when ready to go! Wooosh right over me LOL. Second time I have actuallu heard the iwngs of an eagle. But all the way home I really was hoping I hadn't blown it by jerking too badly as I ducked.
I am glad you are enjoying the photo. Glo's Glimpses will not get posted for several hours I do have lots of photos from last 2 days but none like that one for sure. I am looking so forward to seeing photos from your visit to the dam on Sat. I wish each of you an unforgetable day with our feathered friends. I sure wish Suzanne could go, but very happy to see each name on here of who is making the trip. Life is too short and unpredictable. Go if you can.
The bear is very weather proof, with a heavy fur coat and the snow doesn't bother it. Also, the bigger the den, the harder to keep warm. Snuggled up in that little den Lily is probably nice and warm.
Good morning all! My computer is acting stupid so I see I'll have to shut down and come back.
Well Glo, that is some eagle picture!!
Now we have an excellent TV picture, and Glo's eagle. How about if we have ourselves a little project-what if we all get some really good pictures of birds/wildlife for the rest of the year. Then we can pick out the 12 best pictures (only one from each person) and create our very own Eaglet Momsters 2011 calender!
Good morning! Wow! Glo....what a fantastic picture. Love it! I just can not imagine the feel of eagles wings. Double Wow!!!
Snowing on Lily. One site will not come up, the other keeps going off and on. mmmmmm???????
My jubby has left me. He left about 1 1/2 hours ago. It will take approx 5 hours to get to Houston. He has a meeting this afternoon and a test in a hangar tomorrow. Depending on the test...he will get home late tomorrow or Saturday.
Mine's leaving me Saturday. He's going to western Maryland for the day with our friend Dave (who has plucked my very last nerve but that's another story) to go shooting. But my mother in law will be in town!
Jack is working as a consultant to NASA. This particular branch of NASA is working on a plane that Jack helped develope. They will be doing some flutter tests tomorrow.
I think Jack has enjoyed doing this consulting. He spends just a little time at his desk, conferences on the phone and sometimes internet, and occasional trips. Keeps his mind in tune with his former life. lol
OMG, Glo.......unbelievable shot of a lifetime!!!!!! I would have probably have dropped my camera!!!! You are not only talented, but LUCKY as can be!!!! Please email it to Bob Quinn.....he's likely to miss it on here. WOW, WOW, WOW!!!
Lolly - Jack's consultant position sounds very interesting and sure keeps him up with everything going on. It flatters oneself when your opinion/input is needed.
I think you have to have a flickr account to post a comment there. I just knew so many were saying I was leaving them hanging that I figured I would go ahead and upload that one for now. It will be with a group on Glo's Glimpses later and as I catch them, I am reading the comments here. I also have it linked on Facebook so if you have one of those and want to comment you could do it there.
In Jack's former life, he was employed. lol We retired 10 years ago!!! He is an aeronautical engineer. He worked for General Dynamics which became Lockheed/Martin. Worked there for 36 years. He was also appointed to a sub Nato committee, therefore we got to travel a lot.
Here you go, Dana- from the people who run the bear program-" Lily the bear has snow on her back because she is SO well insulated by her winter coat that the snow doesn't melt. She is toasty on this warm day. It is in the 20s here in Ely, MN -- which is warm for us!"
I believe it was Megan that ask about my eyes. The drops are doing good and the ribbon of this clear cream I have to put in helps a lot. That keeps it from being scratchy; like the eyeball isn't rolling in sand.
Dana, I think it would be good for you to go Saturday. Just stay in the Eagle Express, to not use binocs, just go and enjoy the company. You would enjoy the day. And, if you have to lie down and close your eyes, I bet Wanda would allow that. Go!!!!
He occasionally had a project he could not talk about. When we traveled we could not wear or say anything that would identify who he was associated with.
My stepfather had a job like that. He worked for Westinghouse, and we first moved here, the FBI had us checked out, or rather my mother, for security reasons!
I'll bet it was Lolly! My stepdad's brother in was in the Army in intelligence so he couldn't talk about his work either. It was something joked about when our 2 families got together...how they couldn't talk about work like other guys!
Lolly you could be right. Getting out just with friends. I could see the eagle without using the binoculars. Hummm something to think about. Wonder if there is still room on the Eagle Express.
Email or call Wanda, Dana. You do not even need to look out the window to look for an eagle, just being with friends and joining in with the laughter would be good for you.
I can't believe I missed Criminal Minds last night. Use to always watch all NCIS's, Bones and Criminal Minds, Lie to Me even if had to tape one or the other. I'm slipping.
DANA, yes, indeed...we still have a seat for you! Meet at our house at 8am (do you know where I live?) You do not have to leave the EE...it will be warm and comfy. Bathroom and a bed if you need it...you may have to share the bed with LYNN IF SHE NEEDS A REST:) LOL King Size...will fit 3 Momsters! Gene and I are fixing a little lunch for all. MEGAN is baking cookies!:)
Both still in nest - One that is on eggs doesn't seem anxious to move off Looks like the female osprey is the one that just came in and is waiting to get on the eggs.....
Forgot to tell you that our new postmaster called last week and said he thinks that my Christmas box got torn up in the machinery in Frederick!! Wonder how he knows??? I don't believe it. IF that were true, why didn't they enclose a message??? No answer----at his former assignment, they ALWAYS did that if they received something damaged.
Hedgie - calendar arrive in top condition. Your Christmas box... Don't you think someone actually opened it? The way the wrapping paper was in the box all balled up?
Well I will be watching for your reply every few minutes. Drving me a little nutsy. Not too far to go on some days. And how will 5pm help. I think I am missing something here.
My calender arrived today!! Thank you so much Lynn! It's beautiful, a lovely tribute to Deb for sure.
I still think we should have an EM calender....come folks, take some pictures to go with Megan's and Glo's!!
Jo, I just got my Birds and Blooms today too!
Well, I am out of my funk from yesterday. What a day... Joker bit me because I evidently took up too much space in bed at 5am. Then in an unprecedented move, just as I was going back to sleep after the Joker incident, she started barking. Then I got the call that I was hoping would have been different....I did NOT get the job, and I am really disappointed. Then, the gal who's dogs I walk called me after that, she had to have one of them put down. She'd developed a similar problem to Raven's and she also deteriorated rapidly to the point of being unable to walk, despite the steroids they tried. I've been caring for these dogs for 2 and half years, so it was hard news to hear.
Anyway....I'm going to run an extra virus scan on here and then take Daisy Mae for a walk...it's 47 and sunny and really nice out! Then I'll shut down and hope this computer stops being stupid! Then I will post the video of Daisy playing from the other day, and the bluebird....
OH I see MeMa Jo. Yes makes sense. I thought maybe you were gonna ring a phone or something. I keep hoping to at each refresh. Nothing any of us including Steve can do if they aren't around but sure would ease a mind right now to know that they are there in the area. There is still the evening visit. Maybe we will get our long awaited visit then.
Have been monitoring Lily and our nest. Sure wish we could have some action. Going to work on slides but have sound up on Lily and picture on our nest. lol Come on Belle and Lib. We miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lynne, so sorry you had such a cruddy day Weds., and really hurting for you on not getting the job....that really sucks. Their loss, for sure! Too bad about your other dog pal, too. I think your calendar idea is great!
FROM STEVE: We are waiting for them too. They were aware that Nu was in the nest. Our Regional eagle biologist, who also is responsible for bald eagle disturbance issues in this region (who was with us yesterday), says he it may take a bit of time for them to get back in the nest. I'm sure you folks will see them before we do.
I do have some eagle calls on my cell phone. Hmmm Guess they can't hear them clear from Illinois though. Its time for a visit. All eyes to the nest. We surley don't want to miss it if its a quick one to just sort of check things out etc.
Hi, Everyone~ Sorry it's been a while since you heard from me--computer issues. I HATE Microsoft!!!! My computer keeps shutting down with 'crash dumps', and keeps wanting to install updates, etc. I have specified that it CAN'T install anything without permission, but it just did attempt some kind of upgrade a few minutes ago, but now says it didn't work. AAAARRRRGGGHH!
Glad to finally be back here! Sorry to hear about Crunch's GD--my sympathy and prayers! Prayers for some other situations I've read about since I was here last, too. Lynne, sorry your Wednesday was so rotten! I can't believe you didn't get the job, either! Their loss, for sure! Must be an even BETTER job waiting for you somewhere! Glo, what a fantastic eagle picture! Once in a lifetime shot, for sure! Lynn, glad you're finally feeling better! So good to hear that your nose decided to behave! Dana, hope your eye is doing much better now, too! Well, have a bit of homework to do--am trying to get a week ahead on it. Will be back later tonight, after school. Have a great afternoon/evening, everyone! Oh--Sharon, heard on the news this morning that many people have been able to reach loved ones on Facebook. Is Andrew on Facebook? Guess it's working when cell phones and land line phones are down. Hope you hear from him SOON!!!! Prayers for him, and for you! Catch you guys later.... :o]
Andy he is on Facebook but I haven't heard from him on that either. I have sent texts to his phone, Kelsey's phone, Kelsey's parents' phones and still nothing. I am thinking they may have their phones turned off but . . .
Lynn my calendar came also. Tip top shape. That is because our regular girl was on. It is beautiful. Lynn also prayers for the little one with burns. Remember when Maggie burned her fingers will never forget it. 7 adults around and no one saw her go under the grill. We are idiots. Lolly prayers for Natalie. As I said before my aunt was 36 when she died of breast cancer. Doctor said cure was right around the corner that was in 1957. Many advances but young are still dying.
Do you ever wonder WHY they haven't found a cure for BREAST CANCER? Billions of dollars have been raised over the years and still no cure. What are they doing with all that money? I have not given to that organization in years! Now, the government is taking away the yearly testing and ignoring the very young women:(
Sharon - they might not be getting thru to their phones...they are in Bahamas? Costs much $$$ to call ship to shore...even to receive a text or call out of the country....
oh fine....ignore me then. But the picture and videos are up!
That's a good question...I think it's just complicated by various forms of breast cancer, but early detection, and better treatments have more women surviving than ever before. I always wonder why HEART DISEASE isn't more publicized as that kills more women than breast cancer, or anything else for that matter. Heart disease in women goes undetected way too often because doctors don't seem to realize how differently is presents in women.
Paula is right, Shar. Remember when Christie went down, and prices were so bad that she didn't make or receive calls, and only sent one email saying she couldn't afford to communicate! rest assured, they ARE fine. Once the tsunami warning was cancelled, they were out of any danger.
hmmm...I guess I just figured that with the pretty regular schedule they had been keeping prior to the cam going down that they would have kept to the same schedule during that time, and now.....I wouldn't think that the nest visit yesterday would have thrown them off for this long....it's not like they haven't seen a human in their tree before...
I think they will come back in the morning. This has happened before and it took them a while to feel safe coming back to HOME BASE. Although it is troublesome with it being so close to egg-laying time. Remember the disturbance last January? May have caused unsuccessful fertilized eggs.
SHARON, DEAR WORRIED MOMMY: If something had happened to Andrew's ship, you would have heard about it in the news! Rest assured that he is fine and having a blast! May not even know about the Earthquake. Unless you read the morning newsletter, you don't know what is going on in the world...many passengers on a cruise DON'T want to know what is going on elsewhere:)
Been checking off & on & haven;t seen a nest visit. Fubby went online & AOL news & probably the rest of the world is playing "Pants on the Ground", song performed last night on Idol by Gen. Larry, a 62 yr. old Viet. vet! It's a riot. Several versions on uTube.
OR, Sharon, there is that whole Bermuda Triangle thing, not to mention Pirates of the Caribbean....and JAWS!!!! LOL!! You know I'm kidding....Wanda is right, he probably doesn't even know about it. HOWEVER, on his first big ocean voyage, you think he'd check in....I'd plan on opening up a big can of WHOOP ASS on him!!!
Lynne2, In a nutshell, Belle was in the nest at night & we heard gunshot. She took off in the dark. Hours later, she laid an egg. The first 2 didn't hatch.
Great videos Lynne! Daisy is something else! Sharon - thanks for posting Steve's response. I hope our early birds spot our Regal Couple tomorrow early am!
Just finished dinner - I didn't get lost earlier - I took a panda nap that lasted more like a bear nap! lol
Dana, maybe you need to reboot your puter. I didn't have any trouble with Lynne's blog. Paula, never knew that the Mount BB team was the Moutaineers! Appropriate!
Lynn, If you stay home, you can be glued to Comments & I can call you for any updates!! LOL I'll be in the Land of No Internet! I mentioned to boss that Eagle Group was going to Conowingo, & he said "that's nice." He was supposed to say, why don't you take off!!!!!??
Guess I'll go eat something--yuck-no appetite & my right hand doesn't work anymore, especially on 'puter. Pins & needles & gets cold, sometimes up to shoulder. Someone said carpal tunnel! Hope not--no pain just sleeping!!
It took awhile but the OK (Sutton Center) nest came on line. WOW! Looks like a tropical storm hit and left all the trees and limbs right in the middle of the nest. Lots of work to be done.
Loretta - you say your arm is just sleeping but you best get to the doctor (your favorite person) and see why it won't wake up! Circulation problem? I hope you can open and close your fist.
I am thinking that Kevin's team for the Polar Bear is Maggie's MOUNTIES. Kevin is a grad of the Mount. I knew they were the Mountaineers but totally got confused reading the newspaper one day thinking it was the WVU mountaineers on which they were reporting.
Hi, Everybody, Sharon, I'm sure Andrew must be OK. Seems like they'd make a big deal of it if anything had happened to a cruise ship. It DOES cost a fortune to call ship to shore and vice versa, so it's possible he has his phone off. Know how crazy you must be--and I agree that you need to kick his a__ when you see him! I think it must be a 'guy thing.' THEY know they're OK, so they figure YOU must know it too! I certainly sympathize with you, though! Well, gotta eat some dinner and get ready for school. Will come back when I get home tonight. Later!
OK, we now have DANA on board the Eagle Express on Saturday. I'm glad she decided to go. We now have passengers: Margy Lynn? Dana Jo Megan Wanda Gene Shirley and family will meet us there, maybe Diann. Good group...GONNA HAVE A NICE DAY! Have not heard anything from PAULA, unless I missed her comment.
LYNN...don't even think about not going! If you should start feeling bad, you can lie down on the bed. GG has Dr. B appointment tomorrow, can I ask him to give me something for you ?;) She wants to tell him that she wants GB taken out, I am very leary of that now! Don't really think that is her problem. I hate to have to make that decision:(
JO, Lynn showed me where your street was, so we can pick you up right there. OK? Don't know how long it will take to get to your street after picking up MEGAN? Maybe half hour? My email is not working very well, so I am commenting here.
Loretta.....your boss isn't very good at taking a hint, is he?? Unfortunately, dear, it DOES sound like carpal tunnel....if you can take it, start taking Vit. B6 and ibuprofen; pick up a cock-up wrist splint and wear it at night.....sometimes those three things will relieve the pressure off the nerve and quiet the inflammation so that it doesn't develop full-blown. If no results within 10 days, time to see the doc. He will order nerve conduction studies and then refer you to a surgeon. Surgery is micro now, and nothing as bad as the in the "old days"!
I have been reading over the comments. We are in a busy time at work--end of the semester and getting ready for exams.
I collect another set of research papers tomorrow. I was busy this morning helping the students work on their papers and was assigned to cover another teacher's class during the last half of my planning time. Freshmen. Rascals.
I made them pick up a lot of spitwads and paper mess at the end of class. At least they were co-operative. Something Judie wouldn't have to deal with with for sure! They kept asking if I thought they were bad. Hmmm--I have seen better.
When I got back to my room, a student showed up with questions about the grade on his research paper. Sadly, that ended with him leaving the room in a huff. He plans to show up with his mother next time. Hard day.
Fixing a pot roast for supper. It will be a late dinner, but I need some comfort food.
Got a new mouse for my laptop. It's wireless. I have not had good luck with wireless mice before. We will see. So far, so good.
Good evening. Just have a sec, need to get ready for a meeting at church. Have been working on slides all afternoon. Completed one tray, that is 140 pictures. I am tired.
Glad Dana is going with you Sat.
Watched your videos Lynne and sooo sorry the job did not pan out. It seemed so right for you, but maybe there is something better coming. Hope so!
Good evening everyone. What time are you all expecting to be at Conowingo? Jim & I will be driving down and this is a new trip for us. How about a cell number Wanda or some one? I'll email mine to Wanda.

Good morning everybody!
Thanks, good morning:)
Still waiting for an eagle visit...
I went back and was reading about GLO'S unexpected eagle photo...she has left us hanging, wanting to see it! BAD GLO!
good morning eagle buddies. i hope to see Glo's eagle photo soon

grannyb I remember an email like that. The picture is so precious.
Still no visit??

Heres Looking at Ya
Good morning, gang. Still no sign of Lib and Belle, huh??
Glo, can't wait to see your unique photo.
Have fun at your lunch, Lynne1!!
Wow! Glo, that is the greatest picture!!
WAAAAA! I wanna go so bad too, but my Sat. to work---BOOOOOO! I thought about going up Sunday, but it's supposed to rain, then I thought about Monday. It's a holiday, so wonder about traffic
:>(
Gotta get more coffee & Kleenex (LOL)
Glo, you all would have been visiting me in CCU cause I think I would have had a heart attack! What perfect timing on the picture!
Well it did for sure make me duck quick You know the speed they move when ready to go! Wooosh right over me LOL. Second time I have actuallu heard the iwngs of an eagle. But all the way home I really was hoping I hadn't blown it by jerking too badly as I ducked.

Morning, all!
Great pic, Glo!
Eagle at BWE
MEGAN, so happy that you can go with us Saturday. You need to get away for a while and we're glad to have you join us! Headed for your email now:)
I am glad you are enjoying the photo. Glo's Glimpses will not get posted for several hours I do have lots of photos from last 2 days but none like that one for sure. GLO That photo is fantastic - prize winning to be sure. WOW! I bet you thought he had your number! lol
Good Morning All!
Good Morning to ALL in Eagleland.
Glo I love that eagle picture. I also say it is a prize winner!!!
I tried to leave comment but it wasn't excepting my yahoo like it use to.
I thought a bear would find a cave where it would't get the weather ie rain, snow hitting it. hummmm
The bear is very weather proof, with a heavy fur coat and the snow doesn't bother it. Also, the bigger the den, the harder to keep warm. Snuggled up in that little den Lily is probably nice and warm.
Eagle at NBG
In fact, two eagles at NBG, one in nest, one on branch.
They zoomed in on the NBG nest,
Dana I couldn't get a comment on the photo either. There wasn't any place to click for the comment box to open. I may go back and try again.
How are your eyes today, Dana.
The 2 NBG eagles look as though they are getting ready for an egg laying event.
I'm having trouble with Lily's sites too Lolly
The Lily cam is having issues, it has been stopping and restarting all morning.
What's he testing Lolly?
Mine's leaving me Saturday. He's going to western Maryland for the day with our friend Dave (who has plucked my very last nerve but that's another story) to go shooting. But my mother in law will be in town!
Jack is working as a consultant to NASA. This particular branch of NASA is working on a plane that Jack helped develope. They will be doing some flutter tests tomorrow.
develop
that sound interesting!
that camera is awesome at NBG
Meanwhile, I hope it isn't a bad sign that our birds are absent from the nest so far....
I think Jack has enjoyed doing this consulting. He spends just a little time at his desk, conferences on the phone and sometimes internet, and occasional trips. Keeps his mind in tune with his former life. lol
Boy Lynne - your deer is really antsy this morning - looking all around. lol
Hot DOG! It's 41 degrees here!!! I just opened a window and turned on a ceiling fan to circulate some fresh air!!
Is Michael's b-day this Monday?
he's keeping an eye out for the hunters!
I've been looking for shed antlers when Daisy and I go strolling but haven't found any.
What was Jack's FORMER life Lolly?
I sure wish we knew if Lib & Belle are at the tree. Wish I had the phone number of the Guard House!
Right now the greatest eagle picture I could ever want to see would be Lib and or Belle in that nest!!!!
In Jack's former life, he was employed. lol We retired 10 years ago!!! He is an aeronautical
engineer. He worked for General Dynamics which became Lockheed/Martin. Worked there for 36 years. He was also appointed to a sub Nato committee, therefore we got to travel a lot.
Oh, forgot. Yes, Jo, Michael will be 41 on January 18. My first baby!!!!!!
Glo, wonderful eagle shot!!☺
Here you go, Dana- from the people who run the bear program-" Lily the bear has snow on her back because she is SO well insulated by her winter coat that the snow doesn't melt. She is toasty on this warm day. It is in the 20s here in Ely, MN -- which is warm for us!"
I believe it was Megan that ask about my eyes. The drops are doing good and the ribbon of this clear cream I have to put in helps a lot. That keeps it from being scratchy; like the eyeball isn't rolling in sand.
Oh how I want to go Saturday !!!!!!
looks like a grackle at BWO
Lolly, is that one of those jobs that he couldn't "talk" about?
Hi Dana! Maybe you'll be much improved by tomorrow and can go on Saturday!
Dana, I think it would be good for you to go Saturday. Just stay in the Eagle Express, to not use binocs, just go and enjoy the company. You would enjoy the day. And, if you have to lie down and close your eyes, I bet Wanda would allow that. Go!!!!
Lynn, you feeling any better today?
He occasionally had a project he could not talk about. When we traveled we could not wear or say anything that would identify who he was associated with.
My stepfather had a job like that. He worked for Westinghouse, and we first moved here, the FBI had us checked out, or rather my mother, for security reasons!
Well, a lot of Jack's work was highly classified.
Dana you will be in good hands Saturday. Please go. It will make your spirit soar.
I think I am starting to feel better. Thanks for asking. At least the faucet seems to have been turned off.
Lolly just found your comment about Natalie and Hedgie just found yours about the little 8 month old. Have added BOTH to prayer list.
YooooooHooooooo! Belle.....Lib....where are you? We are calling you!
My NBG keeps needing to be refreshed. I do not remember that happening before. ?????
I'll bet it was Lolly! My stepdad's brother in was in the Army in intelligence so he couldn't talk about his work either. It was something joked about when our 2 families got together...how they couldn't talk about work like other guys!
Please keep Natalie in your prayers. She is a great person, with three young children. Thank you!
My NBG too....I don't remember that either.
Window still open, and I hear a red tailed hawk nearby.
yes, much prayer for Natalie, and for the little one.
Lolly you could be right. Getting out just with friends. I could see the eagle without using the binoculars. Hummm something to think about. Wonder if there is still room on the Eagle Express.
NBG cam is running fine here, Lily cam is still stopping and starting constantly.
Email or call Wanda, Dana. You do not even need to look out the window to look for an eagle, just being with friends and joining in with the laughter would be good for you.
Time for me to walk. It is 51 and cloudy here, and I am chilled. I will warm up do my "walk".
BBL
Eagles at NBG finally flew away.
GLO - I got to leave my comment on FB about that amazing photo!
doing!
Going to take a break -
which in English means......
It is ok now Lib & Belle to come into
your nest!
So it has been over 24 hours since Lib and Belle have been in the nest at least! What is up with that????
I can't believe I missed Criminal Minds last night. Use to always watch all NCIS's, Bones and Criminal Minds, Lie to Me even if had to tape one or the other. I'm slipping.
DANA, yes, indeed...we still have a seat for you! Meet at our house at 8am (do you know where I live?)
You do not have to leave the EE...it will be warm and comfy. Bathroom and a bed if you need it...you may have to share the bed with LYNN IF SHE NEEDS A REST:) LOL
King Size...will fit 3 Momsters!
Gene and I are fixing a little lunch for all. MEGAN is baking cookies!:)
YES, you do have to be a member of FLICKR to comment.
If I wan't so busy today, I would go to the tree and call our eagles. HEEEER LIBBY, LIBBY, LIBBY....HEEEER BELLY, BELLY, BELLY!!! (giggle, giggle)
Not sure Sharon - I would like to know if they are at the tree....
Just got the mail - Thanks Lynn for the calendar with Deb's pictures. Dianne did a very good job with publishing it.
I also got my Birds and Blooms
It is much later than everyone else's
I'll remember to bring Saturday...
I would surely love to know if they are at the tree or have at least been seen on their limb.
I just sent Steve an email to see if anybody has seen them.
Duendin Osprey nest - one just flew in
Probably going to be a switch...
Jo, so glad yoy got your calendar!! Did the stooooopid USPS treat it well???
Both still in nest - One that is on eggs doesn't seem anxious to move off
Looks like the female osprey is the one that just came in and is waiting to get on the eggs.....

Switch took place
Mom almost had to sit on him to get him to move.
It was Mom - she had her necklace on which I forgot about when first observing them
Hedgie - calendar arrive in top condition. Your Christmas box...
Don't you think someone actually opened it? The way the wrapping paper was in the box all balled up?
Anyway - Frederick didn't do that!
Sharon let us know as soon as you receive any reply about eagle sightings on NCTC property. Let us know by 5:00 if you didn't get a reply.
Staring at our nest - If it would refresh and an Eagle would be there - I would drop over! At least I would fall off my chair!
Well I will be watching for your reply every few minutes. Drving me a little nutsy. Not too far to go on some days. And how will 5pm help. I think I am missing something here.
Good news is: The ice is breaking up at the Penguins' pond in Baltimore.
Bad News is: Only the seagull and some ducks are there waiting around.
5pm would just tell me that we were NOT getting a reply since that is their quitting time.......
I need to be in the other room
IF the eagles come - please send a quick email so I can hear my pc 'ding'
and I'll come running........ Thanks.
BBL
I think everyone is either working or out planting tulip bulbs !
Lily cam is working better now:)
Eagle at BWE
FROM STEVE:
We are waiting for them too. They were aware that Nu was in the nest. Our Regional eagle biologist, who also is responsible for bald eagle disturbance issues in this region (who was with us yesterday), says he it may take a bit of time for them to get back in the nest. I'm sure you folks will see them before we do.
Thanks Sharon and Steve:)
We haven't heard from Lib and Belle, I have not heard from Andrew Wayne, these kids are killing me!
I even compared pics from yesterday and today to see if they had slid in without us seeing but everything looks the same.
Aha...so it was Nu...
Thanks Nu!
Lily is awake...sorta...
I do have some eagle calls on my cell phone. Hmmm Guess they can't hear them clear from Illinois though. Its time for a visit. All eyes to the nest. We surley don't want to miss it if its a quick one to just sort of check things out etc.
Hi, Everyone~
Sorry it's been a while since you heard from me--computer issues.
Thanks to Nu. You did a great job. Could you go get Belle and Lib now
Eagle perched at NBG
Megan you beat me to it. Beautiful
Hi, Ceil! Yep, the little ones are SO fast, even when they first start walking.
What is Mits up to today???
Hello eagle momsters and dadsters.
Gotta say that I am impressed that our dumb P.O. got the calendars out past local area so quickly!!
Ceil, little one are very SLIPPERY and good at flying under the radar!
OK, I wanted to put the 2 video clips I took of Daisy on my blog...how do I do that? Same as a picture?
DUH, I see the link to do it.....pay no attention to me
Do you ever wonder WHY they haven't found a cure for BREAST CANCER? Billions of dollars have been raised over the years and still no cure. What are they doing with all that money? I have not given to that organization in years! Now, the government is taking away the yearly testing and ignoring the very young women:(
Lynne, we WERE IGNORING you!;)LOL
Sharon - they might not be getting thru to their phones...they are in Bahamas? Costs much $$$ to call ship to shore...even to receive a text or call out of the country....
Light is on at MT nest.........
Catch ya'll later, heading to the Mount bb game tonight...
Hey did ya'll know they are also called the Mountaineers!!!
oh fine....ignore me then.
OK is anyone else concerned now that we haven't seen our eagles???
No, Lynne, not concerned yet! Just anxious!!! Want to see what they look like with new view!
Looks like the glare of the infrared will make it VERY difficult to see an egg when the time comes. Thankfully, no Boris, YET!!!!
hmmm...I guess I just figured that with the pretty regular schedule they had been keeping prior to the cam going down that they would have kept to the same schedule during that time, and now.....I wouldn't think that the nest visit yesterday would have thrown them off for this long....it's not like they haven't seen a human in their tree before...
I think they will come back in the morning. This has happened before and it took them a while to feel safe coming back to HOME BASE. Although it is troublesome with it being so close to egg-laying time.
Remember the disturbance last January? May have caused unsuccessful fertilized eggs.
what disturbance last January?
SHARON, DEAR WORRIED MOMMY:
If something had happened to Andrew's ship, you would have heard about it in the news! Rest assured that he is fine and having a blast! May not even know about the Earthquake. Unless you read the morning newsletter, you don't know what is going on in the world...many passengers on a cruise DON'T want to know what is going on elsewhere:)
OH, MY...do I dare get into that LADIES?
LOL, Lynne....left comment on your blog!
Lynn, are you feeling well enough to go with us Saturday? Wouldn't be the same without you!
please, do tell Wanda!
Yes Lynn, he is a very obnoxious cat! And that is part of one of the old greenhouses.
Yep Hedgie that was the problem last year. Couldn't till because of glare. We've say, "Have to wait till daylight to make sure".
Lynne2 I've tried several times to get to see Daisy and the bird. I only takes me part way and hangs up.
Lynne, go back to Jan. 30 last year blog..........
Sorry Dana...I hope I didn't do something wrong when I posted....I could email if you want.
Evening of that day, Lynne.
Sharon Andrew didn't have a Fed X package to deliver did he?
I would love to see it Lynn2
Lynne2, In a nutshell, Belle was in the nest at night & we heard gunshot. She took off in the dark. Hours later, she laid an egg. The first 2 didn't hatch.
Wanda, if okay with you, I'm going to wait til tomorrow to determine if I'm well enough or not, okay?? Really hate the thought of missing it.......
Lynne loved the videos. Daisy sure does have a lot of energy.
OK, just read the EGGcitement from last January! WOW!
Dana, I have to run, got to start dinner but I'll send video via email later....or let me know if you are finally able to see it here.
I am thinking that Kevin's team for the Polar Bear is Maggie's MOUNTIES.
Kevin is a grad of the Mount.
I knew they were the Mountaineers but totally got confused reading the newspaper one day thinking it was the WVU mountaineers on which they were reporting.
Where, I wonder, is Judie, Shirley and
Mits?
Hi, Everybody,
Sharon, I'm sure Andrew must be OK.
We now have passengers:
Margy
Lynn?
Dana
Jo
Megan
Wanda
Gene
Shirley and family will meet us there, maybe Diann.
I hate to have to make that decision:(
LYNNE, were you planning on driving down?
JO, Lynn showed me where your street was, so we can pick you up right there. OK? Don't know how long it will take to get to your street after picking up MEGAN? Maybe half hour?
My email is not working very well, so I am commenting here.
Yep, no more than 25-30 minutes to Jo's from where you're picking me up.
Margy also has been here before, Wanda.
I live on the circle so Capt can just have a wide turn. I'll be ready by 9am.
Or you can call after you get Megan.
Thanks, Wanda, I've still got plenty of meds! Hope GG's apptmt. goes well tomorrow.
Good evening.
Wanda/Shirley
Do you want me to email some phone numbers in case needed on Saturday?
Nurse Lynn I just knew you could set
Loretta straight about her sleepy arm!
Did take a few peeks to see if the eagles have visited today. I guess we will just have to wait until they are ready to grace us with their presence.
I would like some phone numbers. I'll go to e-mail and share mine now.
Hope so!
Gotta run! Will be back late!
The only phone # I don't have is Miss Dana's.
Lily is sleeping. Didn't watch this afternoon so don't know if she was awake.
Is your email working Wanda so that you can send some numbers to Shirley..
If not I will do that for you..
Let me know.
Checking out my TV shows for tonight.
Bones 8 pm
Mentalist 10 pm
That's my plan for this evening.
NEW THREAD WITH UPDATE
Good evening everyone. What time are you all expecting to be at Conowingo? Jim & I will be driving down and this is a new trip for us. How about a cell number Wanda or some one? I'll email mine to Wanda.
Glo that was an awesome picture!!!
