Are any of you Big Rig Steve fans. If so he will be coming through Martinsburg later today heading South on I-81 to Front Royal, Va. You should flag him down and have coffee with him.

hedgie said...

Today Show just showed Yun Zi videos!!!
Still fun to watch the beginning!!

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, REd!

How are ya!

hedgie said...

Thanks, Red! Too late to make any plans with Steve----already have a lunch date...boo! Sorry I haven't been following him for awhile. Good to hear from you.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING ALL...
RED, I am a BRS fan, but haven't been riding with him for a long while. My puter doesn't like to go there, as well as Facebook. Freezes me up.
How exciting to have him going through Martinsburg...wonder if he plans on stopping somewhere. If he is headed for Front Royal, he will probably stop at the Flying J, just at the Virginia-WV state line.

Lynne2 said...

Who is Big Rig Steve??

Morning all! Thanks for all of the Birthday wishes!

Just wanted to pop on and say hello before I go take Daisy for her long walk....a bit late this morning.

Well, the nice picture on the cam was great while it lasted.....

stronghunter said...

Happy Birthday, Lynne!

paula eagleholic said...

I see That Andy noted the cam was down during the middle of the night...maybe forgot to tighten a bolt or something?

paula eagleholic said...

Yes, forgot to mention they talked about Yun Zi on Today show earlier, too. Big Debut is tomorrow, I think.

Good morning, everyone.

Just stopping by before I begin to tackle some school work.

Lolly, please convey my condolences to Jack on the game loss. Nevertheless, GA TECH ROCKS!

Began the day with laundry. Alas, my 40+year washer decided to get to the rinse cycle but not drain and spin dry. Darth is about to embark on what I hope will be a cure.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNNE! Hope Daisy gives you a whole bunch of doggie kisses today and Steve gives you a guy kiss. How are the cats adjusting?

Waiting to hear an update on Maggie.

Snow in forecast again -- Boo Hiss!

Okay, I need to get to work. Later

Lolly said...

Good morning! I slept in...it was great. Have finished the paper and my first mug of coffee..now on the second. Jack is out getting more firewood. He is hauling it down from behind the shop to the patio. He leaves tomorrow to go to Houston. He has a flight test at NASA. I declined to go. I hate to leave when it is so doggone cold!

Plan to work on the last of the decorations today and maybe even the tree. We'll see. I really hate to take down the tree. It is still so pretty. The u-verse installer commented on it. I have several ornaments that move, he liked them.

Lolly said...

Will be happy to get a report on Maggie. It is always tough when I child is in the hospital. Michael had several surgeries when he was little, and both Joseph and Jacob have been in with croup and dehydration.

Paula, have been trying to find out about the eagle that flew at the Fiesta Bowl and have not found anything yet but did find this....

Monday, January 4, 2010
The Eagle at the Fiesta Bowl: The National Anthem with Michael McDonald
Is there a greater symbol of freedom and liberty than the American bald eagle? Free to soar above all with all its might and power.

I have to admit, I am usually disappointed in the various renditions of the Star Spangled Banner as many try to over sing it based on their star status. The banner before the Fiesta Bowl was perfect.

A huge American flag was held above the entirety of the field. They announced Michael McDonald--not a fan--but not some cheesy pop diva either. As he sang, they released an eagle. The camera focused in on it--simply beautiful in high definition. It soared high into the upper level of the field proudly. It's one of those moments that makes you proud to be an American knowing you are still part of the best.

Americans need to look at the freedom the eagle represents. They need to soar and be proud of the freedom and never ashamed of what we have been blessed with in this country. If we don't start realizing the freedom the eagle represents, we may soon be grounded like the turkey.

Lynne2, I live with my elderly Mom and her golden retriever Daisy And my brother's name is Steve, so sometimes when I read the postings I have to use this old brain..

We've had about 12" of snow since last week, thanks to the Great Lakes. More due tomorrow night but that will be from Montana, 'they' say.

Speaking of Steve, here is my reply from 10 o'clock this morning about the cam:

"The wind brought down a large limb off the eagle nest tree that caused considerable damage to the power and signal cables. The guys have been working hard to get this stuff fixed, but it is still ongoing. We want it cleaned up too because the live feed is just about ready...

Steve "

I am not sure if this is new limb that fell overnight.....

Hi guys. Waiting to hear from Helen. We left her at Kev and Annie's with Ben and Molly and Donna. The last I heard the pneumonia has gone into the lower lob. She is in isolation.Praying that the doctors will find the right medicine.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Well, that is funny. I called Helen's and left message on the machine, checked here and saw Ceil checked in. Prayers are definitely with you all! Love you guys!

hedgie said...

Oh, Jo, that is too cute!!!!!

hedgie said...

Ceil, thanks for update. NOT the news we wanted to hear----isolation sucks, big time, especially for a little one! Can be very scary with everyone garbed up like an alien. Are they giving her IV meds??? Is she still on O2??

hedgie said...

Margy, I bet Steve is referring to the earlier limb that caused all the problems to begin with. Thanks for letting us know. Some of us never get answered so no longer even send anything.

Just talked to Helen She is on her way home. Lynn Maggie is on iv and they had to redo it this morning and now when the doctors come in she just says no no. Fever is down but every time they take her off the oxygen her levels go down. Helen will go to see her tomorrow. We do not want to go. We are not sick but don't want to take any germs her way. Thanks to everyone for the continued prayers.

magpie said...

After taking about a dozen pictures of those Canada Geese yesterday and never seeing them move, and reviewing the pictures, I found that one did in fact have a different position, so I think the first set of two I posted are decoys and the other pics of two, just must be real ones, but boy did they stay still. I'll just have to venture out and look again this week-end.
Feathers, Fur and Miscelleneous is where they are, Hedgie

Judie, I hope Darth was able to fix the washing machine for you. Glad you got out yesterday and did so well and got to sleep in the SHEETZ!

I forgot to say Megan that I really love the picture of the EWWWIES...that should be in a calendar or something!

Ceil, I don't blame Maggie for saying no-no! poor baby...:( Sure hope they can take it out in a day or two.

Good evening. Thank goodness, no football tonight, but Jack is watching hockey and shelling pecans.

Well, did not finish putting up decorations today. Guess I just worked too slowly. The tree is lit up but there are no ornaments on it. lol Still looks pretty!

Oh, poor Maggie. She does not understand all they are doing to help make her well. I can understand her saying no no when they enter the room. Bless her heart!

Lolly said...

Not only the Lynne's, Steve's and Daisey's...add in the blog names they go by. This brain can not handle it all. lol

Judie said...

Ceil, please be sure to add my prayer for Maggie and all of you. I'm so sorry the little one is so sick.

As for Wanda, I think she's puttin on an act just to get the Capt's attention so he'll keep her company. Clever lady!

Margy, many thanks. I appreciate.

Jo, how cool is it to have Maggie to play with on the computer! What an an elegant message she sent to Megan.

Finally, the amazing and truly wonderful Darth has worked his magic once again by repairing the aging washer. HOWEVER, he did mumble something about maybe the time is near for NEW!

Oh, I thought it was fun to watch the news coverage of Diego because he is too cute but I also felt a bit special for those of us who have watched from the very, very beginning.

Okay, back later.

Good Evening Everyone at the late Blue Moon Cam! I sure hope branch didn't disturb the nest.
Got home late, didn't eat yet. Finally my new flannel lined jeans came today!!!!!!Can't find the old ones & they probably shrunk anyway!
Hope poor sweet little Maggie improves big time.
My daughter had to go to hosp. when she was 18 mo. old w/ GI infection. She couldn't even take the liquid med from the Dr., so he said get her in there before dehydration. They put her in isolation & glad I was there. Didn't have a 2nd car, but my Dad was off for holidays & drove me every day. They never even came in to check on diaper change or that the IV was at the end & starting to syphon! I was out in the hall paging loudly!!Told the chief nun about it. Thank God she got out on Xmas Eve. I'm thinking she may have caught it at the Drs. office where we went for check up!
And that's enough about that!

Now he's getting a new Old car. It's in PA. He wants to drive my car to friend's in Paw Paw.(The other car here I've never driven! Guess I'll learn!)Then he'll go with his buddy to Pittsburgh & drive antique back to Paw Paw.Then he'll come home & the two of us will go back & fetch car!!!!!I knew I shouldn't have left him alone today! Did you know: the bird equivalent of a human larynx is called a syrinx, from whence they produce their songs.

hedgie said...

Judie, are you serious about the age of your washer???? Glad that Darth was able to get it working. Mine is 17 yrs. old and I hold my breath every time I use it!! Bill had to do a "bypass" fix on it last year when it wouldn't spin, so.....so far so good.

Loretta, what did Frank get this time?? it's apparently driveable, huh? That's a good sign! What route will you take to Paw Paw? Stop in and visit if you are staying off the interstates!

Hmmm, the hero stuff would sound nice but saving money is music to his ears. The day will come, however. All I care is that I didn't have to haul wet SHEETZ to a public laundromat in freezing weather.

Loretta, didn't realize you also have a Frank. Maybe think about not driving this weekend with the snow coming. Would hate to wreck the ole chassis -- car that is.

Cool about the syrinx.

Yes, I bought the washer & dryer almost 40 yeas ago. Something to be said for Whirlpool and "how things were made in the olden days."

Pam can keep her -28. Not for me, for sure!

Did I miss an Andy update on school?

Good night everyone. Pleasant eagle dreams. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others.

I am feeling better. Feel like a wienie for even complaining and our little Maggie is such a trooper! My stomach still hurts pretty bad whenever I cough or sneeze. Tomorrow is day 3 of the antibiotics so I should see a marked improvement by tomorrow! Thanks for asking.

Lolly said...

Glad you are feeling better. There really has not been much sickness among the blog members. Knock on wood!!! (My head!)

A cough is really miserable, especially when you cough so much your muscles get sore!

Hope Maggies momma is able to sleep at night. Sleeping in the hospital on their hide a beds is not fun!

Poor Loretta----men and their cars/trucks!!

Judie, Andy had class M & T---don't think any today. She seems to like what is on the schedule this term.

Sharon, sure hope you feel better fast! We sure don't want you in isolation with Maggie!

Margy, that's agood kids' joke! Think I've heard it before!

I'm nice and cozy from my bath, but not feeling well----think I am trying to incubate something in MY chest now. Going to do a breathing treatment, take some Advil and go to bed. See you fine, fowl friends in the morning light. Prayers for all, but especially for Mags and my friend Rick, who is not doing well at all. Good night.

Lolly said...

Oh, Lynn! I do hope you are not getting sick. Take care and get some good sleep.

I started to pay bills but I decided I was too tired and would probably make a mistake. I am heading down the hallway!
Lynn I hope you sleep well and feel better in the morning. I think you said you see the Dr Tues for x-ray results.
Lolly glad you are having a calm evening!
Jenny called from FL and said even 60° couldn't keep them on the beach..
Had to hit the Mall in Orlando. They should now be headed for Nassau and warmer climate!

Time to call it a day!! Good Night All!

Yes, a calm evening. It has been nice.

During the night the temp plunge. It is 48 now but expect in the 20's in the morning and then all day the temps drop. Also a winter weather warning..ice in the morning, Lovely! We have not had temps like this in several years. Jack still plans to drive to Houston tomorrow afternoon. It is 4 1/2 hours. He will quickly cancel if the roads are bad.

I too am headed down the hall! (I like that Jo! ) Been falling asleep here in my chair in front of the fire. Jack is asleep. lol Reminds me of my grandparents, BUT they were old. We could drive by their house at night and see it.
There they would be side by side in their chairs, no TV, no fire, just side by side!

Prayers to feel better fast for Sharon and Lynn. Special prayers for Maggie and her family.

Nite all! Sweet dreams! God bless!

Good (very late) Evening, Everyone!
Getting here kinda late--got engrossed in a show called 'Apocalypse Man' on TV. Gee whiz, I HOPE it never comes to that! All kinds of not-so-good news about how to survive AFTER the Apocalypse. I do NOT want to have to travel underground in the sewer system to avoid attracting attention to myself! Just plain bad news. I'd like to think that the Apocalypse is a LONG way away from now!
Lynn, you're right--no school for me tonight. It's Mon., Tues., & Thurs. nights now. Judie, my posting about school is on Tues. at 12:32am. Glad your washer is hanging in there! Wet sheetz in freezing weather are NO fun! Can remember trying to help my Mom get wet sheets and clothes off the clotheslines when a snowstorm was coming, when we lived in Utah when I was a kid. No clothes dryers back then! Gotta say, though, that sunshine and a fresh breeze did far more for the sheetz than a fabric softener sheet!
Prayers for little Maggie, bless her heart! Can remember when our Jen was about 5, and she developed a high fever, and her cold turned into ocular cellulitis. She was in the hospital getting 3 IV antibiotics at once, and the doctors were worried that the infection would go to her brain! They kept changing her IV to different sites, and she would freak out when she saw them coming. She pulled through it OK, but it's not a favorite memory for either one of us!
Prayers for Sharon--hope the meds have made a big difference by tomorrow! Prayers, too, for you, Lynn! Hope a good night's sleep will find you feeling MUCH better in the morning! Prayers for your friend Rick, also. Sure hope he improves! (((HUGS)))--I know the situation must be rough on you.
Well, it's getting late, so think I will call it a day. Prayers being said for everyone. The night light is on, the porch light too, and the eye scanner is enabled. Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Love all you guys! God bless! :o]

Good Morning, Everyone!
Just got Hubby off to work, and I think I'm going back to bed for a while! Y-a-w-n! Oh, my! I see that our kids are in for a hi of 30 and freezing rain today! Lolly, you'll probably get that too. Take care, and stay bundled! It's cool here right now (46), headed for the low 70s, and fair weather.
Sure can't complain! Guess our eagles are singing 'Am I Blue' this morning. So the nest tree lost a branch--hope the nest is OK, and wasn't damaged! Y-a-w-n..
