crow just flew into Maine nest, trying to steal food from eagle that is there.

Mits said...

eagle took the carcass of food and flew out of the nest, crow is eating nestovers, eagle just brought it back to the nest

Mits said...

crow gave up, flew off.

T-Bird said...

Thanks for the play by play MITS. There is no match between a crow and an eagle, huh!

Mits said...

they seemed to know each other, Thelma, were not threatening at all to each other..one eagle just flew in and the other one left the nest in Maine

glad you made it home safe and sound last night, that was a long day for you and Sharon

Hi, Everyone!

First of all,
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO CHRISSIE!!
Hope it was a fantastic day for you!

I am about to take a sledge hammer to my laptop! Lots of trouble getting here and staying here! AARGH!

Want you to know that I'm fine; just busy as all get-out yesterday, with no success in getting to the blog. Last night we went to Angel Stadium to see 'Monster Jam' with Sis-in-law & Bro-in law! It was just fantastic, and SO much fun! Got home really late, though.

Must hurry and get ready to go out to breakfast for Hubby's Birthday!
He went to Wal-Mart, and will be home soon. Will try to get back here after breakfast and catch you up as to what's been going on. Need to read about your 'road trip' yesterday! Darn it, gotta RUN! Will BBL! Have a great Sunday!
:o]

OH, now this makes it a morning!
Hi Dandy Candy ! ☺

magpie said...

Andrea

Happpy Birthday Wishes to Hubby Ken ☺ ♥

magpie said...

there's an extra "p" in there for good measure, Andy !

magpie said...

Candy,
our still cam got a lot of technical work last week, and there is a new view ☺

Now to fill it with Eagles for your viewing pleasure, wouldn't that be great?

Can you access the Momsters Albums off the E-M page? Lots of nest pictures from yesterday including some H-P ♥ ♥
and also some pictures on the Conowingo album...

xo

carolinabeachmom said...

Good Sunday morning Norma, Paula Megan,Helen, Thelma,Hedgie,Sharon, Ceil, and Ms. Bookworm. I hope I got you all.

magpie said...

Those of us who were fortunate to be able to make the trip are in Eagle Delirium today I think

Conowingo Dam, north of Baltimore...about 11 or 12 of us made the trip. ☺

carolinabeachmom said...

Just got home from church and checked in here before getting stuck on facebook. I know it is getting time to eagle watch and I am getting excited. Can't get on the blog at school thos so far this year. Have tried.

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey Margie, sorry I missed you.

magpie said...

Candy
We're still waiting on live feed at NCTC - think it's coming along soon, and there is cool new Bear site: this is one good link for it:

Lily the Bear's Den

sometimes it's a little tricky on some of our computers, hope you can get it

magpie said...

She's really moving around in there now !
Report seems to be no cubs, yet...

carolinabeachmom said...

Thanks Margie, will have to take a peak. I have seen the eagles inthe nest a couple of times, and started to get that feeling. I guess is there is H{, there is hope and I read where you all were saying that they were working in the nest.

Do they think that the live came will be up in time?

magpie said...

It's hard to figure what we are seeing sometimes, but all that moving around in there is a 3 year old Female Bear
It is in Minnesota....

ceil said...

Hi Candy. Good to see you. How are things going?

magpie said...

This is the very first time I have actually seen her face and her paw....everything else for me so far has been a furry blob moving

carolinabeachmom said...

Margie Thanks for the link. I think I joined the group on facebook, but I never got the link for Lily. So they do expect a cup? How exciting.

Hey Ceil. We have made it throught the year. Things have finally been settled and we are moving on. I hope everyone on here had a good year with a great one coming up.

magpie said...

the hope is there for live feed before egg-laying....lots of technical things going on with the live feed provider, Candy, so we will just see it when it happens!

ceil said...

Candy good to here that. Are you going to still work after this year?

carolinabeachmom said...

I had never seen Lily in the still shots. This wa the first time for me to see her moving around. Weren't you all watching a baby panda born somewhere this past spring? I think I checked it out a couple of times, but am with a new teacher in Kindergarten this year. So I am taking it slow in school

magpie said...

If you are on Facebook, Candy, then there is probably new I can tell you here ! ☺

Norfolk (NBG) site is up and running with action there too.

Do you have Monday off as a school holiday?

xo

ceil said...

San Diego zoo I think was our newest but can't depend on my memory. Mei was inseminated last week and at this time Tai will be going back to China.

magpie said...

I'm pretty delighted to finally see what everyone has been talking about regarding Lily this week...

Hi Ceil
I am going to take your suggestion and go to BWO and see Bob's new pictures...
wonder how Sarah is doing....
and her nurse...

xo TTFN xo

magpie said...

Oh, I smell aroma of bacon and blueberry pancakes wafting over from Megan's roost...and can hear the squeals of delight....

ceil said...

Speaking of China. My son called last night Jennifer and he are going back to China in March and they are taking my husband. They want me to go but I don't like to fly.

carolinabeachmom said...

Yes, Ceil, I am going to try to go just one more year after this. I took my social security check at 66 this August and am trying to pay off my husband's Visa and would be great to get my car paid off too.

Also have been helping Josh get back to being single again. Still in the Army at Ft, Bragg as a Spec 5 in the 82nd Airborne unit. He is trying to make up his mind whether to go to OCS next or his Sargeant is trying to talk him into going through as an NCO. Right now he still has the apartment off base that he finally got his furniture separated and moved by the army down there around the week after Christmas. It has been one up and down year.

ceil said...

I have things to do so hate to say BBL but BBL

ceil said...

Candy keep working as long as you can.

carolinabeachmom said...

Yes Margie, I have Monday off and then Josh will be coming home on Wednesday for a week and a half stay to get breaks on his car and get some more things brought down from our house to the apt. He said he will also be training PT himself and reading lessons he will need to know. But it will be great to have him home. I might take a day or two off of school. This is when I wish i was retired. Oh well sorry to write such chapters.

carolinabeachmom said...

CEIL You must go to China with your family. My cousin and hubby went there and she got to hold a baby Panda. My sisters twin also toured there with their choir while in Syracuse

ceil said...

Candy any time. It is great to hear from you. We need Red back. I am not a facebook person like this little blog. Look how long it took me to get on here. I am babling and have to really go now.

ceil said...

Candy you almost talked me into it if I could hold a panda. Mits want to go?

magpie said...

OH don't apologize, Candy!
It's good to know how our Momster Families are doing!

Sounds like things are moving along for Josh...best wishes for all good things for all of you.

Sounds like Lily just sneezed, my computer is now all pokey, have to close that one down.

Need to disappear for a short while also.....

Good to see you ! ☺ ♥

magpie said...

Oh Ceil...that trip to Blackwater site and Bob's pictures:

Stellar!

Okay, me babbling too...
Back in a little while.

carolinabeachmom said...

Bob Quin Your new pics on the Blackwater site are beautiful as usual. You have the gift to catch them just at the right time. Beautiful, jsut beautiful!

carolinabeachmom said...

Red, Bill, has been over on Facebook playing games with us. It seems to keep my mind busy. But there is no substituting it for this blog, with such lovely and caring people.

Margie, those pics were beautiful weren't they. Like you said stellar! I would love to have a good camera and be able to have the time to do this kind of thing.

carolinabeachmom said...

Facebook break for me too. Nothing at BWO right now.

stronghunter said...

Good morning.

I am going to try to upload some pictures from yesterday. Do not know it will work on this computer.

T-Bird said...

Go Vikings and Jets.

stronghunter said...

Didn't get everything labeled the way I wanted to.

We happened to see Megan's husband on a truch on the beltway in Maryland. Happy to see that he has Fredericksburg connections. Looks just like the picture Megan posted . . . must be her hubby.

Also pictures of Dana, Jo, Megan, and Paula. And Gene's hand.

My camera could not zoom in on the birds we saw. It's not that fancy!

a truck on the beltway

hedgie said...

Hi, Andy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KEN!!!!

Hi to Candy----stranger!!! Now that the season is nigh, you need to spend more time with us!

stronghunter said...

I just posted a few Christmas pictures, too. I don't think I had posted any pictures of Rus and Rebecca. Had some trouble with it. It did not post the first time, so I went back and added it.

hedgie said...

Good pics, Shirley! Bet Megan will be surprised to know that Russ wasn't at home!!! Noticed in others pics that Kathryn looks younger than she did at open house----her cold must have really had her down!!

stronghunter said...

Nice to see you again, Candy.

stronghunter said...

Hope you are better today, Lynn.

stronghunter said...

Kathryn was pretty sick open house weekend.

hedgie said...

CEIL.....I am going to come drug you to get you on that plane!!! There is NO WAY you can miss that lind of opportunity!!! MITS----say yes, you'll go and force the issue!!!

Candy, glad to hear that Josh is moving on. Best thing that could have happened for him! Encourage OCS!!!!

hedgie said...

Has Lily moved deeper into the den or is she out? When I just looked there was no sign of her----and looks like cam position is different....????? Anyone else?

hedgie said...

Shirley, nice to see what Rus and his wife look like. Luna is a beauty, too!

Mema Jo said...

Shirley - you had me going and I bet you'll get Megan! That was a great pic of Russ, Megan's hubby out there on the beltway! lol

Candy my friend! So good of you to pop in here and say hello and catch us up with your life. Josh is doing well I can tell and it is probably going to even get better for him! Like Ceil advised - keep working as long as you enjoy it!

CEIL - you just get on that plane with beads in your hand and have a great trip to China! Take a bottle of wine (before) and one after!

Andrea - tell Hubby Happy Birthday! And wish him many many more!

I have a lot of blueberries in a breakfast crepe at brunch! Delicious.

I am ready for panda nap but want to go see Bob's photos first.

floralgirl said...

Well, now the secret is out, hubby does not own that truck, but did allow them to use his image on it...
Lily moved the cam earlier when she was out and mucking around the den entrance. She also then piled more branches and fluff around her den entrance.
My cmera was not working right yesterday, put I was able to post one pic on my Whatever blog of some of us waitng for the Eagle Express.

Nice pictures, Shirley....my Eagle pictures were mostly dots...so I only put one or two on the Album.

Good One, Megan, if you could only get one picture this is probably THE ONE to get.

I'll say good day for a nap.
But Prairie Home Companion show (NPR) was too good so I just listened to that while I was on the pillows.
Chanticleer was on (US men's classical vocal group) and a female vocalist from Scotland named Jean Redpatch.

Might have to go off to Nap College

Hope everyone on here is doing okay, and those not on here, hope to see you sometime today

Jo, hope your day with the family was a fun one ☺

Mema Jo said...

Hi Mits! Brunch was at Eggspectations near Columbia. What a place. Susan and family got there early just to get a table as we arrived at 10:30. They told her to get there by 10 to grab a table. First breakfast/lunch restaurant hubby said that he ever saw with a fully stocked bar! Their smoothies were really smooth. Omelets, french toast, bacon, crepes and you name it they made it. Was a great get together.

magpie said...

See the Eagle ??

magpie said...

did you get that virus alert thing taken care of Shirley?

stronghunter said...

Will is looking at the computer to see what is going on. It kept freezing up and kicking me off the Internet. If he doesn't find any problem, I won't worry about it unless something else happens. Then I will ask for help from the tech people at work.

I don't think I did anything I wasn't supposed to. I hope not.

Need friendlier up close birds like Conowingo!! Everyone's pics were super!!!

Thank you, Bob. Flower pictures are just lovely.

Never thought I would be sooooo intimately acquainted with a bear's nostril! Lily is really into sharing -- no shame to her game.

Hi Jo, sounds as if lunch/brunch was stupendous. Glad you enjoyed.

Lynn, hope you are feeling even better now.

Shirley, hope the computer problem is resolved quickly.

Interesting article in the local news rag by Dr. Scott Shalaway, regarding bird watching.

Talked of people calling in about suspicious persons with binoculars...guess a few Swinging Bridge residents could call in on me, but I have already introduced myself to them! And DNR guy has seen me out there several times too so I should be safe.

magpie said...

but there are out crooks out there who would do that as a ruse to find a home to break into :(

On the Xcel link for the Lady Valmont if you click on the right for Eagle Cam

Was watching an eagle in the nest at LW. I love it when their eyes gleam in the dark. Great shot.

I am thinking I want to do some more slides, either that or mess with my Kindle. I still have not down loaded a book. Jack has done several. I was reading it on the way to Denton....the instructions. It is easy reading and you can change the size of the font.
Have been watching Lily. She was quite active for a while but seems to be sleeping now. She is quite popular around the world.

Bob Quinn said...

Margy - Sarah is doing well. Thanks for asking. She's a terrible patient. She is limping all over the place without crutches. I keep thinking she is going to break one of those two little 2mm screws they put in her toe.

Thanks for the report!
Some of us have Eagle Canes, do you think an appearance from some Stern Momsters with those would make a difference?

I hope the recovery will continue, and that she will start listening to her nurse, Pronto!

Have you told us today how YOU are feeling ?
also, you get the Journal, did you notice the Birth announcements were from July/Aug and September?
I think, someone goofed! Either now, or back then !

magpie said...

Also for Lynn:
There was an article in the Herald Mail about astronomy, and telescoping. I only saw the headline and did not buy the paper, could you save that for me?
Please and Thanks.

I have heard sirens all day long!
Been saying a pile of Hail Mary's.

how long ago did you see the eagle at LW?
That could mean business over there!

Will has found all kinds of problems with my computer. I don't think they want us to download a security program on our own. I will have him to delete it after he finishes. It seems that the viruses have been shutting down the security system when it tries to scan my computer. You would think that the system would detect that.

Poor Will--He just got a phone call from Tom. Tom wants him to fix a neighbor's computer, so he has headed out to get it.

Margie, it was 8:20 eastern time,so that would have been around 5:20 there, but it was pretty dark. You could see lights in the back ground and the eagles eye was gleaming.

No luck, Margy.........maybe you remember more info to use for search----go to www.herald-mail.com and try the advanced search. If that doesn't work, check newsracks at store to see if they still have copy left (ask if you don't see, cause sometimes they will move them back; delivery folks don't pick them up; merchants cut out heads to get credit on no-sells).

Hunter is coming over to spend the night. He will spend the day with me tomorrow since there's no school for either of us.

Hi, Everyone!
Afraid I'll only be here for a moment--have been out and about all day. Went to a movie--saw 'The Lovely Bones'! Boy, was it a good one! Seems like someone here said they'd read the book, and now I want to read it, too. Quite a story! Excellent.

Have been putting all the pictures from last night's Monster Jam on a CD--not enough memory to put them on the computer. Still can't get over how much fun that was!

Hubby says a big THANK YOU to everyone on the blog who's wished him a Happy Birthday! Your wishes are much appreciated!

Hubby wants me to go watch a movie on Pay Per View with him. Better say goodnight now. Prayers being said for everyone. The night light is on, the porch light is too, and the eye scanner's been enabled. Have a good night's sleep in a snuggly warm bed, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Sweet dreams! :o]

Bob, I always look forward to seeing your name on the blog, because I know we are in for a big treat, your pics are never boring, love the sunsets and flowers as much as the wildlife.

Bob, they are beautiful!
