Good morning all you beautiful people out in Eagle land! Wish I was going to Conowingo today!!! I bet you can see me green with envy from there!!!! Safe travels everyone!
MORNIN' AGAIN---SISSY--& SHARON!! I was just chatting away!! ho!--I was wishing I was on the 'BIG BUS'-----Also was wondering if they were eating all the COOKIES on the way down!!---ho!!---
Good morning Norma! Yes, wouldn't that be fun today...going to see the eagles and eating cookies all the way there!!!! Oh, well, they will just gain weight....we will stay nice and slim. lol
I am happy for them and very jealous!!!!!
Have Lily cam up, but can not keep the chat up. Wanted to see what they had said about Lily during the night. She had had some really restless spells before I went to bed.
Was hoping somoene was going to get a cell phone call or some such so we would all know they had arrived at the dam and how many eagles seemed to be around etc.
Hi Lolly and Glo and Norma and Lynne and Grannyblt.
Missed our eagles.
Did check in on Lily and there was something moving in the middle of her body. Not just breathing. Maybe it was an arm or leg. Wish she'd put on some colored long-johns so I could tell top from bottom from middle.
Know our buddies are having a great time today. Sure wishing they see lots and lots of eagles.
Off to the laundry and to try to think of something delicious to do with shrimp tonight.
She was sitting in a hunched position and she just started "huffing" and her sides were contracting, a series of about 10 huffs. Then she started cleaning herself between her legs, but now she just seems to be nesting again and chewing twigs.
SHE MOVED AND I THINK I SAW A CUB....I couldn't get that lucky...it wasn't moving, no sounds. Now she is just resting again with her head right at the camera.
Lolly, I'm here....but you are gone now! No, I didn't make the trip.I've been slowly but surely taking down Christmas. Was chatting with Chrissy for awhile on FB. Frank was fixing her birthday dinner---she was making lots of jokes about his cooking ability! Hi, Judie. Are you feeling perkier today? Lots of GOOD things to do with shrimp!! Lynne, I wish I could get that Lily cam...boohoo. Maybe it went down because so many were watching!
Of course, I can't keep it open for long or I'll get put in the penalty box. Afraid to close it for fear I won't get it back again!! But I must....argh!!!
OH NO....I am so far behind today that I think I'm in first place...gonna have to shut this thing down!! Checked Delta before I was leaving and lo and behold and eagle!
Came upstairs from laundry and checked on Lily. Awake, face/nose right up close and personal with camera. Seems a bit restless but couldn't see anything that looks like a cub. Lynn, so glad you finally got the site to open.
Going to try to use the technical help for NBG. No matter what I try, once it refused to open the end of last season, it just will not open for me again.
Between the normal cams and news and daily doings and the Haitian disaster and the NFL playoffs, I think I'm likely to have more than one senior moment this weekend.
Hi, Jim! LOL----you are a busy guy! Hope that you will be rooting for the Ravens tonight!!
I am sure getting anxious to hear from our travelers! I suspect that they stayed longer than originally thought, or we would certainly have heard something by now!!!! And Shar and T-bird MUST be in Bluefield by NOW!!
I got the Christmas tree all finished. Now have a big box waiting for someone to come carry it to garage. Wonder how many days I'll have to wait...hmmmm???
Hi! all. Hope everyone is well and warm. Check out that cam view! Wow! Liberty and Belle seem to be staying there quite a bit. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for taking me in while in the hospital. It is good to be home. The first couple of days were tough but it is getting easier now. I hope to be able to blog every now and then and to set my page up. Anyway, take care and I will check in soon. Today was Conowingo, wasn't it? Wow. Maybe next time. Take care, all...suzan
Suzan, we are so glad that you are home. Have you had Christmas??? Know that you will recover much better in the comfort of home! Hope you have a good support system. And since Lib and Belle are gracing us with their presence more often, and the cam is working again, you can enjoy them. We just hope the streaming cam is back on before eggs are laid!! The time is getting close!
Up in Denton. Joseph's basketball team won big. Proud of Joseph! Have had computer up and checking on cam. She seems to be hugging her arms in tight. mmmmm????? Wonder if there is a cub? They say it will whine and have not heard anything.
Okay, my newest little great nephew has a name....Talon Coal Hendrick. I like the Talon, and I like the Coal, but not too sure about why they spelled it that way.
Remember, the raptor lady at the open house, her daughters name was Talon.
Got to see adults, juvies, herons, TV's, gulls. Great weather for today...ate our picnic lunch outside. Wasn't crowded in the morning, but did start getting more people there after lunchtime.
Saw plenty of flyovers and eagles in trees, one took a fish into a tree right behind us and ate it there, then flew back across the water.
Safe travels has brought me back to where I started from! Hello All! I missed you all and thought about you from the time I saw the very first eagle (actually about 4 or 5 perched in a tree by the dam) until we got to the point that we stopped counting the eagles as there were soooooooo many. I just was amazed: We saw an adult swoop down and hit the water but come up empty talons - We saw a juvie attack an adult and fight for the food - we saw a lot of 'couples' perched in trees and on a tower.
Picture takers Gene, Wanda, Paula and Margy will be getting the pics to you asap. Shirley, Kathryn and Hunter met us there - Paula was there ahead of us and met us in the parking lot. Riding in the Eagle Express was Capt Gene, Wanda, Dustin, Margy, Megan, Dana and Jo. Brunch was great as Lunch was fantastic. Megan & Dustin maneuvered 2 picnic tables together and that is where we ate the delicious lunch that Wanda prepared. Dana got a call from Glo! We had another successful get together !
Lynn, won't have to wait long for box carriers if you promise pizza casserole. Shoot, I might even have to drive to WV.
Hi Glo! How's Dex? Did he enjoy some time out in the warmer weather with you?
Hi Suzan. Take things easy for a while and visit us when you feel you can. We're here for you.
Lolly, congratulations to Joseph's basketball team. Was it a big win?
Lily seems to be sleeping again. Noticed a post on the cam page that researchers are on alert based on viewe comments. It is good to have a better idea of what we're looking for/at. Have to admit, this is my first experience with bear "watching."
Off to the kitchen. Decided on burgers tonight, instead of shrimp. How about with bacon, cheddar, onion, chipotle mayo on toasted bun?
Did I miss Andy today? Maybe she flew east to Conowingo?
As for the west -- Jim, any activity with Channel Island eagles?
Hi Judie Dex is doing good. We actually went fro a stroll 2 times this week. I know the neighbors thik I am crazy. They are right I am crazy about him.
I surely hope you have a nice weekend. Sounds like you can use a break.
actually MeMa Jo that is todays visits. I have a couple from this last visit but thinkothers will have those too. Will send the first one. You may need that.
Welcome back to roosts, all eagleholics! Sounds like you had a fabulous day! I am SO jealous. Diann, we will make the gang do it again when Jim and I are well, and Judie is able to go, too!!!!
I am in a war zone. Dummy next door is burning again.....looks like he has half-an-acre burning....throwing gas on it so lots of explosive noises. Smoke hanging so heavy that I can't step out with the dog.
explosions are not allowed, I would call either 9-1-1...or the Hedgesville Fire Department directly, ask for a fire line officer, and ask them to go check it out! That is probably a better idea.....
Yes, it was a fabulous day, diminished only by the fact that many more could not join us...
The Eagle Express, Captain and First Mate, did their usual outstanding service to Eaglet Momsters ... and the food treats by Mema Jo, Megan, and Paula....also Gene and Wanda....outstanding!
It was great to have Hunter and Dustin along, Dustin was so helpful with "us clowns" getting onto and out of the EE ☺ and both fellas did their share of exploring the shoreline and heaving rocks into the water.
At one point late in the afternoon, a siren sounded, like a fire house siren, twice...we were all a gaga thinking the dam was going to let loose a big rush of water, there were red flashing lights at strategic points...all we eventually saw was a rather small release of water that was pretty interesting but not what all those sirens would have indicated was going to happen.
The juvies, were out of this world, several different "stages" of juvies..
Must go check Paula's pictures, then the Momsters Eagle album for today's pictures.
Great photo of one of the Royal Pair on the opening of this new thread!
Margy, it's the same story as with the dogs.....it would be SO obvious that it was me who complained........I kept hoping that one of the other neighbors would report it. I am almost sure that if there wasn't still snow on the ground, this one would have encroached close enough to put my garage and fence in jeopardy. He apparently couldn't keep it going....as soon as he stopped throwing on the gas, fire went out. Don't know why he doesn't sell the wood or donate it to someone. ARGH! It now smells like a gas spill out there.
Hi to you all, been busy trying to get settled in from our Raod Trip. Have put SOME photos on my WILD AND WONDERFUL...more to come later and will put them on Momsters Album tomorrow. Our Trip did not disappoint! All the eagles you could want to see, this side of ALASKA!:) It was a beautiful day, beautiful birds and beautiful company...SEE FOR YOURSELF...WILD AND WONDERFUL:)
Welcome home all you Conowingo eagle travelers. Just so nice to know you all had such a wonderful day together seeing so many eagles. Pictures will be much appreciated.
Evening Eagle Buddies. I haven't read much after 12 Noon, yet, but gal at work today had a Blackberry that goes online! So we did get to Comments & saw until 12:30, but I couldn't get signed up or anything to write. BOO Saw TWO eagles in the nest this AM~~got a couple blurry pics while driving by. Am going to read about the Excellent Eagle Adventure!!!
Love your photos Magpie You have an eye for photography. Thanks for capturing pictures of the eagle watchers watching the eagles too. So many great photos being shared by all of you. You will all have eagle dreams tonight :-).
OK, slideshow is showing on the EM blog now...click to play or click on the link to view the pictures bigger... I was using a different browser and couldn't see that it was there!
I was on a deck with some pretty fancy photographers....two eagles flew over and landed in a nearby tree.
One of the birds leaned over and you guessed it, did a poop shoot for the entire crowd. I commented that one had just taken a poop shoot, don't think they had a clue what I was talking about!
They just looked at me like I was from another planet....I didn't hang around that platform for very longer, sought out my comfortable friends instead
Great pics, Margy! And Paula, yours are excellent, too-----couldn't get the slideshow to synchronize----captions didn't match the pics! Probably my computer. Did you see that I was able to open the bear cam today without any trouble??? Go figure!
Hedgie... based on how you reported you were feeling, I think you made a good decision about today...although things were pretty comfortable, and we would not have minded your condition....it was also fairly rigorous at the same time....
Hi all, things are slowly getting back to normal. I had a time with wife for awhile. Wife's son an wife does have the little girl now. Hope they can keep her. We will have to see what happens later. Last two days was really BIG. (so many people there )We are fine here now. I will be on and off the Blog, checking web sites. Thank you all very much.
As I am about to hop into bed, Dustin asked me to tell you all good night, it was nice to meet you and he hopes we can go there or somewhere else. This was his first real-life eagle:)
Wish we could have camped there...can you imagine the eagles there, first thing in the morning!?
All of the pictures are really good & give you a wonderful idea of our day. All of you on here did a fantastic job of keeping us all updated on our eagles and on Lily. Pics of today's nest activity are in the E_M album
I did take a very quick Panda Nap but all the fresh air has put me out. Hubby really enjoyed hearing the Ladies on the EE singing Happy B-day to him. Caught him off guard. You all are great. Watching the Ravens getting whooped! :<(
Bob, if you are still here... thanks for taking the time for us, to check in, and please keep us posted on how things are going. Prayers will continue for you, all...
Crunch it is good to hear from you. I was very saddened with the loss of such a young life. So thankful that care is being taken of the little one. Please know you and Doris and family had our prayers and thoughts.
North American Bear Center said: Lily the Black Bear - Thank you for all the T-Shirt suggestions! We have plenty now... you can stop anytime! It's been a treat to read them all! Thanks to all you wonderful Lily-lovers!
They posted an update on Lily on her facebook page. They think she has NOT given birth yet. They gave a link to a great video of Lily when she was 5 weeks old. I posted it on my facebook page.
Okay, I haven't read anything on here yet, that will have to wait until in the morning. My brother got to go home today and I had a good visit with him. He didn't look as bad as I expected so that is good! Wore out and going to bed now. Will check back in the morning. Hope everyone had a great day at Conowingo!
Good to see you, Crunch Bob. Glad to hear that Gene and his wife have the little girl. Hope it's a permanent thing. She will get the love and support she needs with them.
Margy, gotta laugh about the poop shoots. You were obviously among a bunch of amateurs!!
CHecked in on Lily before I took my bath and she seemed to be sleeping peacefully.
The game is very depressing....I am going to call it a day and hit the hay. (I'm a poet....and my feet show it---they're longfellows!). Hope everyone sleeps well, with visions of eagles soaring in your heads. Prayers for all. Thanks for filling us stay-at-homes in on the fun. Oh...Margy...love your CLOWN! Night-night.
With what you said I am heading down the hall. Another early morning tomorrow - headed for Elicott City. Megan I took 2! Really had a good time today.. I love being a Clown!
No upsets in the playoffs so far, and I'm betting on none tomorrow too. Although Dallas is looking strong, and if the MN team makes some mistakes, they could easily win.
Good Morning Glo...and Eveyone Else.. Slept in, going to try to hustle these old bones to Mass this morning. Will take my very large list of prayer requests with me.
Amazing transformation overnight for me from a Clown back to a Magpie...☺
See you later...Hope it is a Good Day for Everyone...
Good Sunday Morning All! Rain drops here in the valley. Glo you are an early early bird this morning. Margy I'll briefly check out some more sites for you. I'm early because traveling about an hour for a brunch down the road with family. Everyone make it a good day.

Whoops! Eagle again! They are making up for lost time today.
Hi Lolly glad you are enjoying the eagles :-)
They best be visiting us after staying away so long. Some of us were a wee bit nutsy by the last day :-)
Was hoping somoene was going to get a cell phone call or some such so we would all know they had arrived at the dam and how many eagles seemed to be around etc.
Eagle still there. Have pic trying to upload them to album. #&$*#@ Won't let me! Curses!
One eagle still in our nest but I am out of here now for several hours. Will hear the stories of the day later on this evening.
Hi Glo! Happy to have someone here with me!
Leaving to head to Denton. Taking the computer. Talk with you after the boys are in bed.
Lynn, where are you? Did you decide to go? I am worried about you!
Good afternoon.
Thank you Steve.
Hi Sissy, hope brother is healing.

This is nerve wracking!
fabulous, the feed is down.
OMG---it opened!!!! I can see and hear it!! Wonder why I could never get it before???? WOW......she seems to be sleeping peacefully.
Well, now she's awake!
Of course, I can't keep it open for long or I'll get put in the penalty box. Afraid to close it for fear I won't get it back again!! But I must....argh!!!
Okay, stopped it and then restarted it w/o problem!
Lynn that's great!!! Now you can watch too!
BBL
OH NO....I am so far behind today that I think I'm in first place...gonna have to shut this thing down!! Checked Delta before I was leaving and lo and behold and eagle!

Way to go, Lynne!!
Lunch time at NBG
more pic on blog from NBG and Delta...I love the Delta nest, or more like, I WORRY about that nest. Saw one with a stick!
OK, I am really behind now....BBL
Came upstairs from laundry and checked on Lily. Awake, face/nose right up close and personal with camera. Seems a bit restless but couldn't see anything that looks like a cub. Lynn, so glad you finally got the site to open.
Going to try to use the technical help for NBG. No matter what I try, once it refused to open the end of last season, it just will not open for me again.
Back to the dryer. Will check again on Lily.

Welcome home MeMa Jo. I have sent you photos from the eagle cam today. Sounds like everyone had an awesome time :-)
I think I best check on Lily
and then read all your comments of today.
BBILW
Good to know Dana got my message. Trust she had a good day too. Sounds like it went well for all :-).
Eagles in the nest
Hi Judie Dex is doing good. We actually went fro a stroll 2 times this week. I know the neighbors thik I am crazy. They are right I am crazy about him.
I surely hope you have a nice weekend. Sounds like you can use a break.
2 EAGLES IN OUR NEST

I'll get to the pics shortly...watching skating...
Thanks Glo for the pics of the evening visit..... Working on getting them into the album now. Thanks again.
Wahoo! I finally had success uploading some pictures of Belle and Lib taken today. It took many tries!
Hi everyone. So sorry we missed the trip but Jim was worse today. I think it's bronchitis and he's not feeling good at all.
We had cameras charged, binoculars ready, I even had my clothes picked out and my walker ready. I'm never that prepared for anything. Darn!
Glad everyone had a good time and I'll be waiting for the pictures.
((hugs))
actually MeMa Jo that is todays visits.
Oh, of course, Mits and Ceil and her Jim, andv Mary Marg, and Suzanne, and Lynne and Steve, and Lori.
LOL, another trip is surely a good idea!
Will get to work on pics, then will have to go fix some dinner!
Thanks Lolly - I did rearrange them and place in time sequence in case anyone does a slide show.
Thanks Jo. Tried to load them earlier and had no luck.
OK, here's one pic to get you started...
Eaglet Momsters Blog
Diann- sorry that Jim is not feeling so good! Sounds like a trip to the Dr and dose of meds would do him good. We missed you!
OK, gotta log off a bit and let pics do their thing...and work on some dinner...
I am in a war zone. Dummy next door is burning again.....looks like he has half-an-acre burning....throwing gas on it so lots of explosive noises. Smoke hanging so heavy that I can't step out with the dog.
Gosh Hedgie . Is there anyone you can call. That is really awful
Home again and doggie fed.
Had a wonderful trip and the greatest bunch, Seen eagles, eagles, and more eagles. Got to save up and get me one of those neat cameras.
Glo got you called and shared it around. Thought of all of you and I am so thankful I went.
Prayers for those still having illness.
THANKS EAGLE EXPRESS!!!!
Dana So glad you went and that you had what sounds like a wonderful time.
Well Hello....
Hedgie
explosions are not allowed, I would call
either 9-1-1...or the Hedgesville Fire Department directly, ask for a fire line officer, and ask them to go check it out! That is probably a better idea.....
I think the laws specifically state that you cannot use accelerants to get the fire going!

Diann
I am so sorry this trip did not work out for you and Jim, and hope that Jim gets well soon.
Dana, so glad you enjoyed the trip. Know it did you good!
Happy Wedding Anniversary to Mauley (Donna) and Raymond ♥ ♥
Best Wishes for many more years of loving times together
Lynn, thanks for posting about your chats with Chrissy...hope that her birthday dinner was stellar !
Sigh, wish your neighbors would report it also !!
Hi to you all, been busy trying to get settled in from our Raod Trip. Have put SOME photos on my WILD AND WONDERFUL...more to come later and will put them on Momsters Album tomorrow.
Our Trip did not disappoint! All the eagles you could want to see, this side of ALASKA!:)
It was a beautiful day, beautiful birds and beautiful company...SEE FOR YOURSELF...WILD AND WONDERFUL:)
Thanks for the pics Wanda - Looking forward to some more of them.
Such a fun time we had!
The wooden eagle statue I showed you when I got home was from Jenny that she got down in the Bahamas! I love it.
Oh, what a cool present from Jenny, Jo...
The pictures from Paula's trip in November, contained many sights we saw today !!!
The Eagle pics from today's multiple visits on the Momsters Album, are Fantastic....Great that you got the H-P picture, Jo

Lolly
your day sounds fun too, see you beat Laurel and Joseph on WII bowling...it's fun, isn't it ??
Slide show link on the EM blog...it won't let me put the slideshow on there right now...I'll try later, but the link is there.
Gotta go eat...
BOO
Saw TWO eagles in the nest this AM~~got a couple blurry pics while driving by.
Am going to read about the Excellent Eagle Adventure!!!
eagle in the nest at LW
Pictures are great. So glad everyone had such a nice day.
was...just flew out...
can't get my few pictures up yet...think the site is busy, will try later...
think I will go try to see Paula's slideshow....
Thanks to everyone for all their well wishes, and excitement over our visit...
Glo, we talked about your awesome "eagle swooping over" picture many times today!
We honked when we went past Sandra's house going out and coming back, saw her fussing in the kitchen when we came back through...
Great Slideshow Paula !
I think the one bird might be a tufted titmouse, maybe...
great pictures of the "dam Kitties" too....
All of them are Great !
Nice pictures, everybody.
And yes, Margy, that's a picture of a tufted titmouse in Paula's slideshow.
Fantastic pictures, Paula!!!!
Your little bird is a tufted titmouse.
Back to dinner~~~have the cplate here on edge of desk while reading! It's cold ☺
Really liked that bird book of yours, Megan....going to have to see about getting one of those...
to go with many other nice bird books I have...
Thanks! I will label that a tufted titmouse! I learn so much from ya'll. It was trying to crack open a berry on the branch!
Good night everyone. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Pleasant eagle dreams.
It's just our little ornithological contribution to your slideshow Paula !
Was fun to see "Mr. Jo" Ed today, we sang happy birthday to him but Ed's birthday is Next Week ☺
and nice to meet "Mr. Megan" Russ...
two added unexpected treats for the day ☺
Good Night Judie....
xo
Wanda, thanks so much for putting up some pics----y'all did great!! Thank you and Gene so much for hosting such a great trip----so sorry I missed it.
It's a pretty easy drive, Lynn,
sure we can find another window to make another trip, even if is just a few individual cars making the trek....
although there isn't anything quite like the fellowship that occurs when that Eagle Express is part of the package !
I got my 15 pictures on the Momsters album....don't think I will win any Eagle Photo prizes, but I had a good time taking the ones I did...
Love your photos Magpie You have an eye for photography. Thanks for capturing pictures of the eagle watchers watching the eagles too. So many great photos being shared by all of you. You will all have eagle dreams tonight :-).
Oops...forgot to list Lowreeda and Frank must go on next trip, too!!
OK, slideshow is showing on the EM blog now...click to play or click on the link to view the pictures bigger...
I was using a different browser and couldn't see that it was there!
Hey, Lolly, what was the prize for? Clowns? I got clown pictures!
Hey Margie, nice pics!
Hey, Wanda, tell the Capt he got some nice shots!!
Paula I loved your clown pictures with captions. Too cute :-)
The other visitors at Conowingo, did some double takes when that big beautiful Eagle Express RV pulled into the lot....
Go figure!
Hedgie...
based on how you reported you were feeling, I think you made a good decision about today...although things were pretty comfortable, and we would not have minded your condition....it was also fairly rigorous at the same time....
thanks, friends, for your comments about my pictures....I have learned so much from all of you, you were behind the lens with me ☺
Lynn, Lolly, Glo, Lynne2 and everyone else:
you did a great job reporting on all the cams' happenings today !

Hubby really enjoyed hearing the Ladies on the EE singing Happy B-day to him. Caught him off guard. You all are great.

The score on the Ravens/Colts game is not good for the Baltimore fans of which I am one. :<(
In fact I am going back and taking some Tylenol for my pain!!!!!!!!!!
You may need extra strength Tylenol...
They posted an update on Lily on her facebook page. They think she has NOT given birth yet. They gave a link to a great video of Lily when she was 5 weeks old. I posted it on my facebook page.
Whoops! Just saw where you had already posted a link to the update, Jo. Your fast on your feet!

Good NighT, EveryOnE

No upsets in the playoffs so
far, and I'm betting on none
tomorrow too. Although Dallas
is looking strong, and if the MN
team makes some mistakes, they could easily win.

Jim
