Getting dark, Shirley there, at Finland. Started out sunny, got snowy, ended up peaceful like this.

I have about a dozen or so pictures on the album, shows one eagle, then two, then one annihilating breakfast, no sharing! then two, then one, then fish all gone and empty nest.

Have a good day everyone...

Lolly said...

Good morning! Thought I would say hello before going to read the paper. It's going to be another busy day. Laurel and the boys will be here after lunch. Laurel wants to go do some shopping and then tonight the Nutcracker! Just me and my little girl. lol

Anxious to see the boys. Have not seen them for two weeks!!!! That is terrible! Won't see them for long. Joseph will immediately ask to go see Macie, the little girl next door. Also, she has the new puppy, so they will be really anxious to get over there.

Supposed to get up to 70 today, but it is not sunny. Rain is coming and behind that an artic front. Chill factor in the 20's. That is good, we can have a fire Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Have a great day. Good luck today, Dana. Hope it goes much better.

Norma....I am so sorry you missed the game Sat. night. It was a GREAT game, too. Very exciting!

Copied over from old thread. Think I need more coffee but anyway

Hugs to Lynne in PA at the loss of Bobbi Sox. You loved her very much and cared for her so very well to even travel to a different town to help her cross the bridge when it was time. What a good mom and loving home Bobbi Sox found. You gave her a good life and I am sure she has left in your heart some awesome memories. Its still so hard so very very hard.

I have put all kinds of extra food outside for my birds and squirels but seems to have been found by a pair of crows. I know they have to eat too but golly I want the little ones to get their share. We have bad weather coming in tonight for several days. Might have to scoot them off in a litle bit and try to replenish. Hmmm

Can you believe yet another bird (house wren this time) got onto the porch? No idea how! The door is closed and I can't see where they are getting in! I managed to shoo this one out on it's own.

Paula, nice news item from Jersey. Did you see the flotsam in the marsh? Looked like what we saw in places at Patuxent. People are SO stupid. Congrats to those rescuers!

Loretta, nope, new guy (if you mean gen. mgr. Allen) didn't call that stupid play---think it was that Sherm Lewis who replaced Greg whatever-his-name-7000 page playbook-guy! STUPID play for sure....but at that point, it didn't really matter anyway....duh!

paula eagleholic said...

Margy - was definitely a catfish in our nest this morning...great pics, thanks!

hedgie said...

Paula, I don't know why some people even have dogs! We have an effort going on to pass a county ordinance banning tethering in excess of 10 hrs., but I don't think it goes far enough. It doesn't address caging. One of these dogs is in a kennel cage and the other is on an overhead lead. THey have crates for doghouses...but never see the chained one get in hers---it looks too small. Can't see any buckets of water, either. It just makes me sick. And, of course, they bark every time I step out the front door. It was one of the reasons I put up the privacy fence, because I couldn't stand seeing it all the time.

hedgie said...

Out of sight isn't out of mind, but it makes it a little less obvious to me.

Birds have found the bread...jays and titmice and juncos!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Good Morning/Afternoon!
I've made it home from the Dr. appt., and found out I've lost 4 lbs. in the last 2 months! Have been trying to kinda watch it. Talked to my Dr. about Hubby's problem with the bone spurs on his feet, and she wants me to make an appt. for him with HER. She says that even though she gets terse e-mails from the 'bean counters', she will order as many tests as she has to, and schedule as many operations as necessary to 'fix up' her patients, and to heck with the gatekeepers! I knew there was a reason why I liked her! She just needs a 'heads-up' e-mail from me to remind her about Hubby's situation, and she'll go ahead and see him. If he likes her, maybe he'll decide to switch to her.

Ms Bookworm said...

Lynne,
I'm so very sorry about Bobbysox! It's the toughest thing we ever have to do as pet owners! (((HUGS))) for you! Prayers, too!
Hope the Rainbow Bridge story gives you some comfort. I totally believe that all our beloved pets go to heaven when they leave us. They'd have to--if heaven doesn't have them, I'm not so sure I want to go there! I'm really looking forward to seeing them again.

Hi everyone,

Lynne, I am so very, very sad about Bobbisox. You provided a good life and I hope you will find comfort in that.

No, not lurking. I decided to try to catch up on laundry and bake cookies today. Also bake for the mailman and hair stylist. Having a difficult time with the swelling of the right leg/foot. Still can't get a shoe on. Anyway, back to Walter Reed on Tuesday, 29th. So I'll just lurch along as best I can.

Decided not to do a big deal for Christmas dinner for two. Cornish hens with a little extra. That should do it.

Now going to put the leg/foot up to try to force some fluid away from the foot. Isn't this exciting, everyone? Am I having a good time yet? Hmmm, I don't think so.

Good night all. Turning my light off. Night light is on for others.

Sugar plum dreams for everyone.

I want to thank you for all of the kind words and actions by all of you in regards to my wonderful sister Deb. She is greatly missed and this is going to take a long time............. Amanda and I are returning to Vermillion in January to do some more work. This was all crazy but what is comforting to know is that she had all of you corresponding with her often. My older sister Pam has taken Deb's photos from the year and created a calendar which I am sure is fabulous. Again thanks for everything and if you would like to call that is fine also. Regards, Dianne

He was transporting 108 wood turtles, six snapping turtles and four box turtles...does not state the fate of the reptiles, so wonder, who is paying restitution to? Maybe court costs.
He was trying to get to his business in Florida, "Russian Reptiles," to sell them.

I usually have trouble finding tape, but I have two rolls. When Will was a kid, I usually found the tape in the front yard. Usually not in very good shape. I've bought lots of tape over the years. I will get to wrapping tomorrow.

Wanda, I will resort to some cash or gift cards, too. Just too hard to know what they want. Susan has asked for money because she wants an expensive coat--more expensive than I can buy, so she just wants help. She also appreciates help with school books. The guys want computer stuff, and I never know what to buy for Tom.

Cornish hens sound wonderful, Judie. Just take it easy so you can get better.

As soon as I get my bed put back together, I'm going to get in it. Good night all.

I ain't messing with any snapping turtles, momster or not!!!

Susan once rescued a large one from the middle of the road. Scared me to death when she told me about it. She grabbed it and dragged it out of the road.

Yep, saw both of those articles, Margy. The rescue operations sounded more grueling on the scanner than what they put in the paper. What a horrible ordeal. There was also a mountainside rescue in Jefferson Co. the same evening of a 98 y.o. lady who had fallen down the ridge, or something.

That guy better not have gotten my Myrtle!! Wonder what his business does with them? Probably some kind of soup-hide-body part and hocus-pocus stuff. YUCK! Sure hope that the creatures will be returned to their natural habitats.

Judie, Cornish hens are a favorite here, too! Just stay off your feet as much as possible. Remember, elevate higher than your heart.

I remember Snappy...:)

Jo, glad you get to go shopping for girl stuff...my time is coming soon!

Lynn - so glad you heard back from Dianne. I imagine it has been really hard on them. Thanks for doing the compilation of all of our thoughts about Deb and sending them on to her.

I have been trying to unearth the kitchen table so we can eat Rib Roast on it for Christmas dinner...finally seeing some wood!

One more thing--speaking of finding stuff in the yard. When Kathryn was in elementary school-- third grade, as I recall--she had a very stern teacher.

One day I got a phone call informing me that Kathryn was at school without her glasses and I was to deliver them forthwith. Period.

I found them in the back yard under the deck. I do not know how I knew that was where they would be. I loaded the twins in the car and delivered the glasses to the school. You did not argue with Mrs. Savage.

Mrs. Savage once told Kathryn that you did not know the alphabet properly unless you could say it backwards, and instructed her to do just that. Kathryn told me that there was an alphabet over the board behind Mrs. Savage, and so she had no problem complying. I do not encourage my children to cheat, but . . . (Actually, Mrs. Savage was a highly respected teacher. Just had her ways.)

Now, if I can just find those scissors . . .

How many of you can recite the alphabet backwards?

Will have to check out the Snappy pic.
