Fresh thread. Still mighty windy.
I was walking out just after five last night and was able to watch on the NCTC closed circuit some interaction between our eagles that was facinating. The male was on the eggs and the famale came in, talking up a storm. The male got up, flew off. The yelling continued from the female for a few minutes.
When I walked outside, I could see the male perched above the nest. My only thought is that the female was telling her mate to get to work and fond a big fish for dinner. When I left, he wasn't yet listening to her...

Good Friday a.m., everyone
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATTIE
Good Morning, Helen. From what Steve was telling us, I think Lib is going to be in BIG TROUBLE. He knows better than to cross Belle;)
That is just like a daggone man!! They never listen! HA!!
Thanks, Mits, I will give her the message. She had a great morning before she went to school. Felt very special, as well she should!
BRS is heading home to San Antonio for a few days rest.
He is so used to her by now, he just does not listen...
update from BRS.....
Heading to San Antonio, Texas for hometime for a few days.
We must have been looking at him the same time, Red, his is the first cam I ususally put up in the a.m.
How are you feeling, Red?
sea eagle at Finland
I was wondering this morning when BRS would be heading home.
breezy up in Maine, can hear an eagle.
view has changed at the newer maine cam....more tree, less nest, wind probably moved the cam, but the one aimed into the nest is unchanged
deer and squirrel at snowman cam
Not feeling too bad Mits. Thanks for asking. My head is still plugged up. Getting plenty of yucky stuff out of nose. Have you ever heard of a Neti pot. Been using one for a few days now. Really cleans out the sinuses for a little while but they stuff up again
NBG, back online.
Great tidbit, Steve. I'm sure that's exactly what was going on!
Morning, all!
yes, Red, have heard of it...never have used one though....
Morning, Paula:)
both cams on at OK, cam #1 has changed significantly.
I had never heard of one even. Here is how to use one. Looks gross but it really works.
Neti Pot
with those winds that Lynn talked about last night 712mph, she might wake up in Rhode Island today.
I have not had breakfast yet, think I will pass:)
I think we had a Neti pot discussion on here one time before, Red. Works pretty good, huh?
Is anyone able to get the Hornby Island cam up?
Glad NBG is back....one egg or two? :)
Sharon has gone to see her regular doctor this morning. Her belly looks alot better this morning, not nearly as angry red as it was.
yes Sissy, I can get it, sun just starting to rise, but still very dark now
look in the upper part of the cam and you can see the dawn breaking
Oh, I see now, it is still dark at HI! DUH!!
was just going to ask about Sharon, glad the meds are working.
don't know about NBG, still waiting to see at OK and Caltran too
Looked like 1 egg still at NBG
hmm, looks like Hornby #1 cam is down, screen says info does not exist anymore
or broadcast does not exist anymore, message would not let me copy and paste
uodate from BWE....
Nest Update
02/13/09:
A nice look at our two eggs.
As a reminder, we could see hatching start as early as two weeks from today.
and from BWO
02/12/09:
On Thursday we saw a couple shots of the platform eagles calling out.
To hear what the bald eagle call sounds like, listen to this entertaining episode of the radio series BirdNote.
Hmm, now it almost looks like 2 at NBG...guess we will have to wait for a better look!
Plus there's some white stuff around their egg cup, too.
there is a slideshow from the 11th, but it is way to long for me to watch right now
Guess it's just one for now...sure hope they get another one today!
well, we will be able to see, when eagle gets up, the angle of cam is perfect
CALTRAN is online for the day.
Looks like BRS is going through some nasty weather on his way home.
Egg roll our nest...looks like Lib on the eggs.
GOOD FRIDAY MORNING ALL
I think we just had a switch at our nest...refresh showing eagle coming down from the back of the nest towards the egg cup, now eagle is on eggs.
I think that's Belle on duty now...
Morning, Jo
Thanks for the observation Steve
We we wondering why we could see her
squawking so much yesterday.
Hope Sharon gets some 'good' results for a change - thanks Bev for your update.
Happy 11th Birthday Mattie
Hugs & Kisses Hope the dance was fun last evening ♥ ♥ ♥
Hi Paula! Newspaper has the State looking at the Hayward Rd entry off
15 Northbound. Hubby & I crossed over on day this week and were dumbfounded as
to why 15 Southbound had a Stop before entering to the right on Hayward.
Sometimes I think the planners have never driven the roads they control!!

Hey, Red. Don't you know that Michael Phelps got into trouble using one of those things? Wait til Mrs. Red finds out!:)
lol...Wanda:)
Mattie had a really good time at the dance last night, thanks for asking!!
Wanda, you just won't do!!!

Jo,
They have southbound stopping because of all the traffic crossing at rush hour....Board of Ed is back there, and the line can back up for a mile....it can be confusing!!
I got a good look at Norfolk egg(s) a few minutes ago, and there is still only one of them.

Did you see the video of Lun Lun as a cub??

Morning, Jim!
How is Sunny California today?
Tiger on tiger cam at NZ
lion on view too....nothing on the gorilla cam at this time, but the mom has been bringing the baby girl out for a few minutes at a time.
Good morning, Paula.
So Cal is cool ... Hahaha. About 50° and overcast now, but it's supposed to rise to a rainy 52° by afternoon.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Weather is 50's here too, and sunny. Not a bad day!
The Hummingbird cam has been knocked off-kilter, but you can see that the chick is perching on the edge of the nest, at least part of the time.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
If you haven't seen it yet, Dr. Sharpe has posted a short, informative report on Santa Cruz Island.

black screen NBG:(
My NBG is down again...
Paula - it is very confusing. Most people also use that to go over to the many many Dr offices on Thomas Johnson Dr
You just don't expect the oncoming traffic down 15 to have to stop!
Guess we'll be looking at a light soon.
Hello again! Sorry for my typos during the night! Fat-fingered that wind gust!!! 71 is what it should have been...LOL!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATTIE
It's amazing how different kids can be...Mattie is so much more mature than Jenn is, but they are only 3.5 mos. apart. Life experiences have something to do with it, I'm sure...Jenn's rough patch was over 3 yrs. ago, so being younger through it all probably made her more immature...of course, the shyness is a hindrance. Mattie seems so full of self-confidence!
Finally got emails under control!
Need to go out this pm on errands...
BBL
NBG is back
Having so much trouble with computer. Going to try a system restore and see if it helps.
Lynn, your typo gave us a good laugh this morning:) Anytime we can laugh at ourselves or each other, it's a GOOD THING!
still cannot see for sure if there is a 3rd egg at CALTRAN
NBG still having issues...I give up for now.
2 at TH
Look at that pretty ocean at Maine...
Caltrans...that was soooo cool!
Eagle zoomed under nest, coming towards cam....then flew in from cam side with branches...Pine branch...
Now it's Daddy's turn...still see just 2 eggs.
Momma taking a break on the left branch
And there she went, over the highway...
TH had 2 ♥♥ this morning!!
I love that you can see them coming, and other birds that look like gulls flying by.
Gonna be a strain to see those tiny eaglets in the nest for awhile, tho.
Snowing in Oregon.
Nest looks like a big cream puff
Eggs were just exposed at BWE - I couldnt type fast enough !
Parent is back
but you might get the old pic before it refreshes
I think OUR Eagle looks like a fish lying in the nest...
Fish body with an Eagle head...
☺
Had my birthday greetings on the old thread, so here goes again:
*** Happy Birthday Mattie ***
Hope it is your Best One, Ever !
xo ☺ ♥ all day for you!
From your friend, Magpie
Belle is Beautiful ♥
Time to leave soon for the Valentine's Party at my grandson's school in Morgan County.
Hope everyone here has a great day, and you see all the wildlife you are looking for! (Excluding the Carcass Cam...☺ )
Yes, Paula, she is picture perfect ♥
xo TTFN
That is a wonderful report Steve. Lib is just being a typical male and tuning females out!
I am back from the doc. Wants me to stay on the same meds as the ER put me on and told me to use warm moist heat on my belly. So, hopefully these antibiotics are going to take care of it.
ARRGGGHHHH!!! I am so ready for this all to be over!
Hello!!! I am home! Woke up at about 7:15 and Laurel said I could go home. I have been released! LOL Joey, our SIL woke up not feeling the greatest. So, he is working from home today and taking care of Joseph. Anyway, I took Jacob to school before 8:30 and I was home by 9:30. I get a couple days rest before she brings me the boys Sunday. She has in-service so we get the boys. If Jacob gets the flu I will just keep him here with me. Last night after his bath, I was wrapping his towel around him and hugging him. He was cuddling up and he said "Grandmommy, I want you to live here forever." Ahhhh! That melted my heart.
So, this morning I can not get our nest or OK. So...what is up? Wind damage?? What is the egg count and expectations...I have lost track.
Sharon, I know you are really tired of all of that MESS! When things aren't as they should be, you just want to be feeling good and well. Hang in there!!!
Lolly, 30 sec pic is fine, live feed is down....Comcast lines are still down.
I couldn't get OK up either today. They had 2 last count.
NBG still has 1
Caltrans still at 2
Oh, and no visit to the nest yesterday for lunch. Too windy. Will be rescheduled!
BBL
Thanks, Paula. Today could be a day for more eggs, right?
Raptorluver, the live feed is down because the Comcast lines are down. We just have to wait until they get that fixed. We do have the still cam though. Welcome to the blog. Keep coming back to see us!
Wha happened to Raptor dude/dudette?
Can't get NBG to stay on for long...too many hits, I'm sure!
Oh, and that's good news, Sharon.
BTW, you have mail...
great news, Sharon...take those meds
eagle at hornby nest
NBG stayed up long enough for me to watch them bond on the branch....
C'mon egg!
hornby #1 back online
LW back online
gonna miss BRS....
Heading to San Antonio, Texas for hometime for a few days.
Return to the road Wednesday Feb 18th
very windy at CALTRAN
Caltrans nest is a rockin'. Supposed to be a windy, rainy weekend in CA.
Friday, February 13
Xi Lan learned how to climb overnight! All week he has been trying to climb up the structure in the dayroom, which is where he likes to spend his days. He has tried many different ways to climb up the structure, but never managed to get very far. Wednesday, however, he was suddenly at the top of the structure! None of us saw Xi Lan climb until yesterday, so we could not figure out how he had done it. This morning, JT and I saw him climb right up as if it were no problem at all. Now the top of the structure is his favorite spot. He spent most of the day up there, sleeping and playing. Lun Lun pulled Xi Lan down from time to time to play with him or nurse him, but when she left him to eat, he climbed straight back up onto the structure.

Good News!!
Our Live Feed is back on!!
And I know all the freezing that occurred as soon as I brought it up, was not from overuse!
Hope they can get the updates done now!
must have just come on, had checked it before going to atlanta, to see if their cam was on....guess that was just a rumor from last week about it coming on this week.
I heard there were technical difficulties at Atlanta...
Big wait and See, I guess.
will believe it when I see it Paula.I love pandas, but am not one of these fanatical panda maniac people...they are my least favorite people that come to the zoo.
Check out the closeups at NBG if you can...
egg turning at CALTRAN, still only see 2, so guess that is their clutch for this year.:)
feel like you can reach out and touch its beak.
Love the blink!
that is cool, didn't notice it til you mentioned it
Daggone, just missed the egg roll at our nest!
don't know how our cam gets #1 on beakspeake yesterday when it was not even working???
both eagles NBG
Mrs. BRS, just picked up Mr. BRS from the truck:)
hmm, NBG is up and down, and got those wings spread out in the back, be nice if were a Valentine day egg
Heading home,
Catch ya later
see you later, Paula.
eagle at NBG, looks really tired
Both- our nest
Finally a switch, and a check of the eggs, and getting comfy...
Heading out to the birthday girl's party. Be back later!
look like some debris has falling across the lens cam of CALTRAN
HAVE FUN SHARON, THANKS FOR PUTTING THE RED PANDAS UP FOR ME.
On second look, might just be raindrops at CALTRANS' nest.
deer at Pix
Aw, that's a cute pic, Mits.
that is the female red, Sharma, with her brand new mate, Tate:)
hummer still being fed by its momma, nest to me looks completely intact still.
Well Hello there Tate & Shama
Sure wish there would be a little one in the future - sure would be darn cute!
I had a 'fast' trip up to Valley Mall this afternoon to get the wedding gift I needed for next weekend. Lucked out at it was an even better sale price then I hoped for!
Saw only 1 hawk along the highway - usually see more up in the trees. This one was rather large - sitting right on top of a new short pine tree.
we sure do hope so, they really liked each other from the start, has a lot of fun watching them the other day
We finished dinner - HOTCAKES!
It's nice not to have to do elaborate cooking when it's just the 2 of us and we get a craving for something like that.
Going in to watch the evening news - as if I don't already know it all! lol
BBL
yummy....I went out to lunch with friends, belated BD lunch, so I'm not terribly hungry now. Have some leftover pizza from last night jubby can have....
Hi again! DOn't know what was causing computer issues earlier. Nothing I tried helped. Shut it down again before I left to go get oil change and inspection. Took a nice long soak in the tub when I got home, and then turned on puter, and so far, A-OK! Kind of afraid to speak it--shhhh!!!! Don't want to jinx it!
Margy, think I passed you on the road on 9 somewhere around Back Creek Bridge...about 1:20??
As miracles happen, like on the Hudson, tragedy strikes...in Buffalo. What a shame. Also a plane crash-landed in London, on runway; everyone supposedly survived it, too. The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh, and the Lord giveth again. Amen.
Funny update on XiLan!!! Bet he's a cutie! Wish we could watch....boo!
Hi Lynn...boy our Deb is going to be tired when she comes home tonight...didn't think she would be gone this long.
finally have the OK cam up
2nd egg was laid there on the 9th...so guessing this is it for them...a 2 egg clutch
probably why it is easier to get on now, people have stopped looking for the 3rd egg at OK.
I am home and "slam wore out"! We saw the Prairie Chickens, but couldn't get them to dance for us at all. More later, I need dinner!
WOrking my way through email...so far, so good!
I knew you would be tired, Deb.
My sinuses are still plugged. But Mrs. Red is taking me for Mexican dinner. That should clean them out. lol
yes, it will:)
There she is, Mits! Deb, bet you are worn out! Sorry no dance, but bet you got great pics anyway!!
I was getting ready to put out the brunette alert for her Lynn:)
Hi, I looked at this P.M.'s comments, and I don't see this one:
The Norfolk female laid her second egg this afternoon at about 5 o'clock.
Jim
they must have just posted that, Jim, Paula and I were watching at that time
I was on the phone with Sharon and we were remarking how tired she looked, now we know why:)
Time for Jeopardy---and lap time with doggie. BBL. I am NOT shutting down...no way!!
WHOO HOO
Look at all our eggs being rolled
Dang, I missed that...
Thanks Helen for letting me know about NBG 2nd egg laying.
That slide show on their site tells the whole 9 yards and captured the entire process. BEAUTIFUL can't explain it!
Deb you're going to do yourself in! All for a good reason of course!
Get your dinner & a hot tub!
Jim alerted us to the 2nd egg, Jo....I was watching, but did not see it laid, cam might have froze for me at that time.
Lisa said that hatching could start there in about 2 weeks...Feb 27th ....
Dinner is done, kind of caught up on e-mail and I have read the blog. A hot bath sounds wonderful.
We saw the Prairie Chickens right away this morning, but they were sure skittish and wouldn't let us get too close. There were over 30 of them, so we were disappointed when they didn't do any booming and dancing.
We saw lot's and lot's of Bald Eagles and Red-tailed Hawks. Our total for the day was 34, if I remember right. One new bird for me was a Townsend's Solitaire. We did see thousands upon thousands of geese, spring is coming!!
BBILW
Deb, how far was this from your home?
Hi All! Worked all afternoon in the yard. Have to make up for lost time.
Watched the 2nd egg slide show at NBG. Fantastic pictures! Also, finally got on OK just before dark. What a neat cam with both pictures.
Now I guess it is just wait and see who gets the flu next. I certainly hope no one else gets it, but that is probably asking for too much!
Lynn, it took 1 1/2 hours to get there, then we took off and went all over the area. We hiked quite a bit in Niobrara State Park, which is in north-central Nebraska. Then we crossed back into SD and followed the river back to Yankton.
Good evening I had a great eagle
day today, The eagles ARE sitting
and i watched them change places.I
saw the male bring a squirrel to
the nest and took photos,i posted
on my blog. winter with the eagles

Howdy all!
Daggone, just missed the NBG egg! Oh well!
Have been trying to figure out son's taxes now...whew, two states, have to apply to PA for refund, blah blah blah. What a PIA.
gotta go work on the FAFSA now...will check back later.
Good evening all. I see our eaagle is awake.
We still don't have any sound yet?
Changing positions. Now wiggle wiggle and down on the eggs again. I guess it needed to stretch.
Was reading the Maine forum about the NBG 2nd egg...they said cam went down just as she was laying the egg!
Sure is nice to have Live feed back, and it is especially nice that the winds have ceased!
Beautiful new pictures by Indiana Dave.
I am trying to view the Second Egg Laying Slideshow, it opens to one view and I can't view the show...any suggestions?
Hope everyone is doing well tonight.
Time for some Hershey's xxx's
And a chocolate marshmallow Peep Bear or two....
Bird on the Move OUR Nest
Actually I missed it just see that she has changed positions...
keep clicking on the numbers at the bottom of the page, Margy...it is hard to see them but they are there.
Eggs exposed at ValMont...
it's fun to watch when the parent returns there, nice wiggling takes place
I think Norfolk is rolling her eggs now...
Valmont is back
Thanks, MITS -
it is really difficult, each time I get one new view, I have to really struggle to get to the selections again, very tedious....
maybe another time it will work better for me...
Raccoon up close and personal at Pix
Back from dinner. LOOK ON MY WANDA'S WISHES FOR SOME FUN PHOTOS.
Hedgie... hope your computer is still working okay for you, and Yes, that was I on the Back Creek Bridge, was on the way to Morgan County with the "real" maternal grandmother so we did a Double Grammy party visit with James. Brought him back to Martinsburg for a few hours too.
It was very nice....☺ ♥
Despite all the new sugar I just introduced to my system I think I am going to call it a night.
Time for a little reading, the book I Have Not finished yet, Firefight
Good Night Everyone....look forward to Deb's new pictures ...
ooops I better check out Just For Fun first....Hi Wanda ! ☺
God Bless Us, Every One.
Guess I better look at Wanda's Wishes instead, huh....
Margie, I didn't take many pictures today, but will look at them tomorrow. It was a cold, cloudy day so left the camera in the car whenever we hiked.
Wanda and Dave, great photos. Dave the squirrel is a great picture!
Our eagle is up!
That dog was sitting patiently in that vehicle when we pulled into the restaurant parking lot this evening. I thought he was adorable.
I thought maybe it was one of your daughters' dog!
Margy, you said "And a chocolate marshmallow Peep Bear or two"....I've never seen chocolate peeps!! Are they really good??? Where did you find them?
Did you see me, too?
Wanda, who's the "driver"??? CUTE!
Deb, sorry you didn't get to see the mating dance. I would imagine that is something fairly rare to see??
I got caught up on some TV's hrly shows
Dave - the eagle with the squirrel in talons is awesome.
Wanda - does he really have a license?
Paula, what is FAFSA?
Enjoyed your pics, Dave!
Hey, Red, is your cold better?
Lolly, glad that Joseph is better...hope his daddy feels better!
Going to call it a day. The wind has finally STOPPED completely...should be a much more peaceful sleep tonight.
Prayers for all. Talk with you tomorrow.
