A note about the OK eagle nest cam: "Our techies tell me that the problem is at the power plant where the camera signals are sent from the nest, and the transmission from there. Yesterday they rebooted their server, but that didn't solve the problem. OG&E will have to get their technicians out there (they all work in Oklahoma City), and that requires a work order and many even a couple of days wait. Looks like we are back in the same situation of breakdowns! Sorry, no one is more disappointed than I am."
Video worked fine this time, Red....guess maybe too many visitors to the site b/4! Amazing...but I was holding my breath for a moment when the two bears were "cuddling" the white dog!!! Guess this is what we call symbiosis!
I am So happy to say that Dex seems to be much more comfortable and alert than I have seen him since Fri night. Right now at least to my observations I think these trial drops are working in a positive way. We see the Vet tomorrow at 9:15 am. I had to run to the grocery store real quick and he actually met me at the door when I came back. He has not moved for 3 days unless I went and got him and carried him to a new room or outside etc. He feels much more like moving around today so eye has to be feeling better to him. He wants to scratch at it though so maybe as it heals its gonna start to itch. hmmm...mtbr with that one I guess. His left eye is being treated too but it never did seem as dreadfully inflamed etc as right eye did.
I feel encouraged to see this too. He has a pretty long way to go and we don't even know what has caused it to begin with but right now it looks like the new drops are being quite helpful.
Saw 4 juvies sitting at edge of ice on other side of Jug Bay.Went outside & an adult eagle flew over my head, going down river. Went behind other office bldg & watched juvies thru telescope. One something flew & I got it's pic--might have been one of the juvies. What a wonderful day!
Yes so true I knew he wasn't feeling well Fri night when he went in to bed ealry but I really knew he was in trouble on Sat morning when he wasn't on the bed when I got up. We were sitting in the Vets parking lot when he opened at 8 am and immediately were referred to the Specialist facility in IA. We just didn't get to see the referred physicaln until yesterday. it was an associate of his who took care of him on Sat. At anyrate I do think he is in good hands and I do think some prayers are being answered. He is sleeping now but even that seems so much more restful than it was all weekend.
Glo I am so happy for you and Dex ( : ( : give him a pat and hug for me. We love our doggies for sure. Or if you have a kitty...these pets are like our children. They depend on us to care for them. Yet they give us so much more. Continue prayers for you and Dex.
Glo - Very relieved to hear about Dex feeling better. His symptoms sounded like my virus where I didn't want to move for days! I hope the eye clears up - sounds like it is. Prayers for Dex! Paul's doggies too - they now have meds from the Vet.
Hi kids! Try as I may, I can't get anywhere NEAR the webcam......OUR webcab......THE webcam..I keep getting an error message....one of those 404 grrrrr. messages! is it just me?
Just found out that our naturalist, Greg, saw the Golden Eagle juvie here on Inaug. Day.It was near a wooden bridge over a creek that leads to the State Park next door. Also 3 snowy owls have been seen on East Coast area around here.
My message says: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" but it also says the site may be experiencing difficulties or I am not connected to the Internet So it must be the first one.
Meanwhile: Great News, Glo, a very encouraging report on Dex...☺ ☺
Well, crud, rushed back in here to see if there would be a visit before dark:( Just finished shoveling my very long driveway. wow- I am worn out, my back is feeling it. Glad to hear Dex is doing a little better, Glo♥ me and the dog are munching on Tostitos, suppose I should make some dinner...
Dear Mr. President, I know you are new to this job and you've got lots of other things on your mind (like world peace and a failing economy) but MAYBE, just MAYBE you could do us eaglemomsters a wee favor? Could you order the FWS to fix the site and the cam for us? ah...and while you're at it, could you allocate some funds to Zoo Atlanta so that people all over the world can see the most wonderful Pandas live and grow? Sincerely....chearyshe from Israel who REALLY loves eagles and pandas!
I forgot. I came back over here to tell you that there's an interesting new blog entry at San Diego about the procedure to ween ZZ, which has just begun and will last about 3-4 weeks.
Well MeMa Jo If it is needed and serves a purpose I would be very happy to post videos back on the original first blog for the NCTC Eagles of Sheperdstown Blog That I worked hard on the first couple of years. Folks will need to send them to me. Or send the links to me whether they are on their BLOGs or on You Tube and I will get as many as are shared with me into that one spot. Someone needs to let me know if you all would like me to do this.

Glo, I am so happy to hear that Dex is doing better. Me and Sher were wondering about him a while ago!
Looks like changing of the guard at BWE!

Awww Nature nut The sights and osunds of eagles soaring free. Its awesome for sure.
Just read back......
Glo, how wonderful that Dex is better. Pets are so stoic--suffer in silence & we only know something's wrong by their behavior.

Geula..
Great to see you here, and if it is any comfort, I couldn't get on to the Blog and still cannot get on to the cam....
One of those things I guess.
good for Dex, and a thankful shout out to St Francis:)
I can't even get to the site! BWAAAAAAH! I can blog though.....thats some comfort!
What's the link for the Maine nest? if there is one...(my mind!)
Oops! This link appears broken.
DNS error - cannot find server.
isn't that just ducky...off to put away groceries...my road was treated this a.m., just snizzling here now.
Okay.....I'm happy that it's not just ME that gets the OOOOPS message...but it's a bummer that we can't see the eagles!
First the ZA cuts off the Pandacam. Now this? what else can happen...I shouldn't ask that!
Here's Maine link, Geula, which you will probably get from more than just me:
Maine Eagle Nest Cam
Well, maybe we can see NCTC together later ☺
My message says:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" but it also says the site may be experiencing difficulties or I am not connected to the Internet So it must be the first one.
Meanwhile: Great News, Glo, a very encouraging report on Dex...☺ ☺
Hi, Geula...stick around...Lib and Belle should be coming to their nest shortly.
mins has the oopps message
Thanks to Mema Jo for giving Hedgie the link to the blog, who gave it to me and I saved it....
I am happy to say that in my book, the Woodsboro Ladder truck made it to the Pentagon...so I finally made it to that chapter. ☺
Loretta: This really is a great day for you there, can't wait to see your pictures, makes us that more anxious to schedule that Field Trip !
TTFN - Hope everyone's afternoons are going well. Back Later. When the cam opens up I hope.
There are two eagles at Norfolk to watch, one in nest and one on branch.
tried sneaking on from Beakspeake...no luck
Norfolk Link, Geula:
Norfolk Nest
( I have to test drive that...)
Well, crud, rushed back in here to see if there would be a visit before dark:(
Just finished shoveling my very long driveway. wow- I am worn out, my back is feeling it.
Glad to hear Dex is doing a little better, Glo♥
me and the dog are munching on Tostitos, suppose I should make some dinner...
Okay that works, birds still there.
'Bye.
Geula, sometimes the links get corrupted...mine must be, too, cause I can't get back in, either. Hmmm....someone help, please!
Cam back on...
This happens sometimes, site or cam is having issues, all we can do is wait til they fix it...
While we are talking about all this by the way, does ANYONE have the NCTC cam up ?
Okay, so it's not just me and Geula!!
Glo, such wonderful report on Dex. Bless his little heart; hope things continue to improve.
I still can't open cam page, or any FWS site...
I don't mind waiting on it, I am just so doggone spoiled...still cannot open mine up.
Not back on here, Paula!
Loretta, you ARE having a super day! Bad weather is good for something, huh???
Me, either, Megan...they all give me either an oops page or an error page!
Just for the heck of it...going to reboot.
no cam here still
sitting here munching on California sushi rolls with ginger and wasabi..yum..
My live cam looked frozen, so I tried refreshing it.....
Same story as you ... can't find fws.com, or something similar.
Happened at Catalina last year, and it turned out they had forgotten to pay their site fee...
Or it could be a weather outage, or a technical necessity while they are repairing the live feed.

There are advantages to having 2 computers...on 1 Puter, I can't get the Maine Cam and on the other one, I can. Go figure!
The Hummingbird chick is growing like crazy, and it looks like it has pushed the remaining egg out of the nest now.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Nope, that didn't help.
No FWS sites... Can't be found!
I'll send an email & hopefully someone will open it.......
what's up with the cam? did the weather get it?
Apparently the FWS sites are having issues right now-so no cam:(
I sent an e-mail to Steve, but if he sees Jo's name sure he will open it;)
well I have an issue with FWS:(
maybe it is a budget cut:(
I have so many issues....
do you think if we send a message to the President's blackberry he will respond?
Do you have his email address? I would love to have it-
Maybe the FWS needs a bailout check...
It very well could be a budget cut -
THEN WHAT WILL WE DO!!!!
Like Megan reported - NONE of those sites will open........
Guess we'll check Lake Washington out
This does happen every so often with FWS sites.
MESSAGE FROM STEVE...
I can't get any FWS website. That's a problem beyond our control. Hang tight, they'll fix it.
Steve
Dear Mr. President,
I know you are new to this job and you've got lots of other things on your mind (like world peace and a failing economy) but MAYBE, just MAYBE you could do us eaglemomsters a wee favor? Could you order the FWS to fix the site and the cam for us? ah...and while you're at it, could you allocate some funds to Zoo Atlanta so that people all over the world can see the most wonderful Pandas live and grow?
Sincerely....chearyshe from Israel who REALLY loves eagles and pandas!
yes, and it eventually does come back on, but I wonder with a new administration, whether they would close it down
I'll second that to the president. LOL
New thread and info on cam with link. I have the cam on my desktop but not my laptop at least not the last time I tried.
Little Xi Lan is getting bigger and we can't see him....the eagles are doing nestorations and we can't see them...
::SIGH::
Geula - It's a sad day in the cam world
Well, I finally got the cam up by using the second link from Steve; but as someone said, it's dark, could be snowing, and nobody is on the nest.
I was sure that Belle would have laid her first egg and we would be frozen out, as has often happened.
