Good, Dave. I signed up as a follower...first time I've done that...never knew about doing that before!! Will look forward to many more pics of this great discovery!!
There was just a lovely hawk out here and 3 crows stayed on him until he flew away and then they chased him to the other mountain across the railroad tracks.
Wonder if the pods are from a tree. The catalpa has seed pods, but I think they're thinner than those at BWE. They almost look like corn shucks. Somebody left a fish at BWO. Maybe it's for dinner! ☺
Dana, that is cool. I never see them at suet, mainly feeding on the ground here at Park. They are in the grass on side of road & fly up when you drive by. You can see their white rumps!
Well, crap, I had the live feed up, but it was frozen, and now I can't get anything but white page...still cam seems to still be working, but it's so still, spoiled by live action....
Oh please, I like some bugs, but not that one....Is Ed feeling any better, Dana?? I don't know what Paula meant, but she did leave work earlier than usual, right?
I had that stomach bug a couple of days before Christmas and it felt like I was dying. I was afraid I was having complications from the surgery. Was really grateful to know it wasn't deadly! :)
Dana, I much prefer using the outdoor grill, but a bit too sloppy to mess with it tonight! I have been known to stand out with an umbrella, grilling in inclement weather.
I just talked to my niece, everyone is in a panic. The restaurant were the rehearsal dinner was to be held, just closed. At least it isn't the wedding reception place. I am not sure if they had paid in advance or not, though, that would be really bad.
She is getting married this month, right? We had a beautiful place reserved for Laurel's recepting and it burned. However, we had time to find another place and all worked out well.
Deb, that's too bad...hearing lots of tales of sudden closures affecting folks' plans...and many have prepaid and don't get refunds. Megan...that's MY kind of pot pie...worth every minute of effort. Can remember my grandma making individuals for 75 for annual Mother-Daughter banquet at church!
They are working on a replacement place right now. I think that all the last minute stuff was adding up and now this sent them all over the top. I e-mailed my sister about if they had paid for it ahead of time and no answer yet.
Thank goodness, Deb! How big a group are they having? Shouldn't be too hard to find a new venue. Mits, I bet they are anxious to get home...it's been a long trip!
We haven't heard from Red today....hope he hasn't caught the bug! And Paulleo has been MIA for a long time! Miss Vicki, Anne Marie, Robyn....all have been scarce, too.
39 people, Lynn. They should be able to find a place according to my niece, but at this late date, the price is higher. Maybe they will luck out and find a compassionate restauranteur who won't hold them over the barrel.
Daggone, got something in the back of the apartment bldg sounds like a geiger counter! Can't tell if it is icy rain hitting something or the place is about to blow up ! :(
Poop! Went back to check Two Harbors, saw something approach the edge of the nest, thought it was a second eagle but then the lone eagle disappeared, happened so fast don't know what that second bird was....:(
Golly - you guys had some great Eagle Viewing today, especially at OUR NEST !!
I did see a Red-Shouldered or Red-Tailed Hawk one of the two, perched in a tree about 150 yards from my office today...that was a nice surprise. Can't check the sky for my star tonight...on a clear night viewing is acceptable at the apartment, but at work, blotto, too many city lights, can only see the Moon and the brighest stars and planets.
Noise out back has quit after getting a Lot Louder first...
Caltrans wouldn't open up - quick time picture just said something like trying to establish communication...it never did. Well, time to get warm and clean... TTFN xo
Ok, Margy, don't quit your day job(which is actually often a night job)....ha ha Just pouring here, only 30°- sure it must be slippery out- dog wants to go out, so I am stalling... hubby suddenly doesn't feel well, hope it's just stress and not the BUG...
Holey Moley !! We got to find us a good Exterminator! Or maybe we need a good snowfall! I must have mean genes, last time I had the flu was in 1974...which struck right before an interview at an Elementary School that I really wanted a job at as a teacher ! No, I did not get that job!
Heartfelt prayers for wellness for those who need it. ♥
MITS : I think the Train # for the Capitol Limited is 29, 30 or 31 - I will call the 800-number in the morning regarding the schedule...would really like to be on the platform when the choo choo comes through! Sure won't know which car to wave the hardest at, though! Then again, I could possibly get called in to work :( so I am going to restrain myself from getting too excited about it! ☺
Yes, it's train numbers 29 and 30, one eastbound, other westbound, not sure which is which, and here is the order of the cars: locomotive baggage car crew car coach car(s) lounge car dining car sleeper(s)
Okay MITS - I will know more in the morning, both as to whether I get tapped for some work time, and, what the train schedule holds. This brings out the Kid in me! Thanks! ☺
Okay - usually I would know by either 4 am, or 6 am if they are going to need me for dayshift, so I will post early in the morning to you or email you, MITS.
Hip, hip, Hooray! Just got an e-mail from my cousin:
Just got off the phone with Dorothy and Bob can now move the 2nd toe on his RIGHT foot as well as his left. The neurosurgeon came in and told him to move his toes and he moved his left and then told him to move his right and the second toe moved. HOORAY.
He will be moved to Barrows Institute for rehab tomorrow. Last we heard it will be for 5 to 6 months time. Keep the prayers coming as they are being answered.
So many of us on here getting a bug. This must be an extra bad strain and very contagious. I did have a Flu shot...I did not have the Flu...had an intestinal virus. It really knocked me down on my butt! Any of you that have it now or get it in the future, try very hard to eat and drink something as soon as possible. That will help you to keep your strength and fight off that bug...Rest, Rest, Rest!
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL OF US
Oh, yes, Deb, wonderful news on both fronts. Mits, are you getting excited to see your sisters??!! Looks like Paula hasn't been on since she left work...hope she is feeling well by morning! And, Jo....hopefully she is getting good rest! Goodnight, fowl friends. Sleep well....be careful if you have to go out in the morning.
Will do Lolly, sure hope the timing all works out well. I am afraid she might want to hide under the covers though! Let's see, what kind of Gawdy Outfit can I come up with ?? xo 'Night...
I hope all avoid the Bug or recover quickly and happily.
I was just thinking today that I don't believe I've had a really 'killer' case of the flu since I began getting the shots. I still get milder forms of the curse, but not the kind that keep you in bed for a week. (Knock on any wooden construction). The Hong Kong Flu, which I came down with Dec 31, 1969, kept me in bed or bathroom for most of a week; then I got up and did some light work around home; got a relapse and was in bed for nearly another week.
I was so pale you could see through me when I went back to work.
Cold and icy here this morning- had to carry dog down icy outside steps... still no cam:( Schools are on two hour delay-so I'm going back to bed...I don't feel very well now.........

Good, Dave. I signed up as a follower...first time I've done that...never knew about doing that before!! Will look forward to many more pics of this great discovery!!
Anyone watching Norfolk cam? I can't get a picture there now, just black screen...
Down here as well, Megan
More seed pods at BWE - eagle in the nest!
There was just a lovely hawk out here and 3 crows stayed on him until he flew away and then they chased him to the other mountain across the railroad tracks.
Hmmm they may have just moved the existing one around. I forgot what they are called...so I emailed Lisa.
Wonder if the pods are from a tree. The catalpa has seed pods, but I think they're thinner than those at BWE. They almost look like corn shucks. Somebody left a fish at BWO. Maybe it's for dinner! ☺
Lisa said it might be part of a cornstalk...
I thought that is what it was called last season.
Eagle at BWO eating that fish that was laying there.
Loretta a comman flicker was at my suet pack which is near my kitchen window today.
Dana, that is cool. I never see them at suet, mainly feeding on the ground here at Park. They are in the grass on side of road & fly up when you drive by. You can see their white rumps!
Our drizzle turned into cold rain---yuck. Everybody drive home slowly.
That fish has been left again...
Must be a carp! :)
Well, it looked like my NCTC live cam had frozen up so I hit refresh and now I cannot get anything.
Taking a break! Silly me putting up so many decorations. However, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
So, while I work, NN steps out and sees an eagle. Now how COOL for her and so unfair for me! LOL
Yeah, I know, no one promised life is fair!
It is now 63, a beautiful day!
It looks like the 30 second cam is still updating...I just get a white page when I try the live feed.
Paula, all I can get is the white page and Norfolk is black. Woe is me!
Ok, back to work. BBL
My still cam suddenly went black, but I hit refresh and the whole page refreshed and it's ok now.
That darn bug has arrived here as well...heading home...
Well, crap, I had the live feed up, but it was frozen, and now I can't get anything but white page...still cam seems to still be working, but it's so still, spoiled by live action....
Absolutely spoiled by live action!!
Am I understanding Paula right? She got the bug too?
Oh no hope Paula isn't catching the bug !!
Paula drive careful the temperature is dropping. Things are starting to refreeze here.
Oh please, I like some bugs, but not that one....Is Ed feeling any better, Dana??
I don't know what Paula meant, but she did leave work earlier than usual, right?
Megan he usually reads all day but he has fallen asleep on the couch. Hasn't picked up a book today. He is feeling very poorly.
I had that stomach bug a couple of days before Christmas and it felt like I was dying. I was afraid I was having complications from the surgery. Was really grateful to know it wasn't deadly! :)
He hasn't eaten all day can only drink 8oz about every 6 hrs of gatoraide.
Oh, poor Paula...hope she isn't getting it. I see rainbow lines on our still cam, but it is still refreshing.
Sharon that had to be terrible and with just having the surgery. Sorry..
He does look terrible.
Sorry to hear that, Dana. Tell him I hope he feels better soon.
But...it still looks too light compared to what we have here. It's getting rather dark now.
Darn, still cam has lines at top, so it's probably stuck also. Live feed pic has disapeared...
Megan, love your avatar....is that Doc? I can't remember who looks like what...LOL!
I will Megan been telling him when someone says something like that. He is so afraid he will give it to me. I feel so badly for him.
I don't think our live or still cam is working.
No eagle fix from our nest this evening.
It's Grumpy, cause I am! Guess we will miss any evening visit, so dinnertime here, homemade chicken pot pie...
I just told him that Paula went home early. That she might have the bug. He said he wishes her luck and he's hoping she doesn't.
I think your Grumpy is cute. Homemade pot pie sounds so good.
Your dinner sounds good, Megan, whichever way you make it. Are we talking crust with filling, or are we talking boiled slippery pot pie??
I'm going to do burgers on the Foreman.
Lynn that is what we had yesterday on the George Foreman. lol I love my grill (inside not an outside one)
Dana, I much prefer using the outdoor grill, but a bit too sloppy to mess with it tonight! I have been known to stand out with an umbrella, grilling in inclement weather.
Dana, you need to fix Ed chicken noodle soup!!
Crust with filling...takes a while to make, but worth the effort.
I just talked to my niece, everyone is in a panic. The restaurant were the rehearsal dinner was to be held, just closed. At least it isn't the wedding reception place. I am not sure if they had paid in advance or not, though, that would be really bad.
well that is awful, Deb....when is the wedding? I'm sure they will find another place, thank heavens it is not the reception place.
She is getting married this month, right? We had a beautiful place reserved for Laurel's recepting and it burned. However, we had time to find another place and all worked out well.
The rehearsal is a week from Thursday, wedding is a week from Saturday.
Left over stew tonight, but I will make fresh dumplings to go in the stew. Nice to have an easy meal tonight.
And, you have your dress! Way to go Deb!
Helen, what's the word today from the travelers?? Are they due in tomorrow?
They are working on a replacement place right now. I think that all the last minute stuff was adding up and now this sent them all over the top. I e-mailed my sister about if they had paid for it ahead of time and no answer yet.
talked to Ceil a little while ago, they are in Chicago, train supposed to leave 7 their time....she had a wonderful time, but is ready for home.
Eagles at LW!
Good news, they are getting all their money back, now to find another place.
I see Paula and Ed have both gotten the bug, hope you both feel better soon!
they are beautiful....
New episodes of NCIS, The Mentalist, and Without a Trace tonight.....sofa time...I better stay awake!

LW eagles looking grand!
Poof! LW eagles gone!
They were there quite awhile, still light out, so they might be back.
yeah it is ony 4 out there.
most of the snow is gone from the burrowing owl cam.
I see the live feed has become a lovely shade of green....
freezing rain and racoons at PA
I noticed that, Megan
One Eagle at Two Harbors...
See those Racoons playing dodge ball with the rain/freeze drops ☺
Hi Everyone....
Time for Jeopardy...and then the evenings' line-up. BBL!
hey Margy....Merry "Little Christmas:)"
L♥ve the new avatar, Floralgirl...is that "Grumpy?"
I haven't read the posts yet, time to do that now...
Ooh, face of hummmingbird facing the camera, sort of. Sure are pretty eggs in that nest....
Yep, Margy, I'm grumpy...
Deb, hope things workout for your neice- weddings often become so stressful.
Thanks MITS - a wonderful little day, we always waited until this date to take our Christmas tree down when I was little.
Oh, I see it is Grumpy, Megan. Did you make your pot pie from home-made chickens? ☺ Bet you are as good a cook, as you are a gardener/farmer....
time to go back to the old posts now...Eagle still at Two Harbors...
Well, Megan, do you know where skeleton kids go during the day?
To the Day Scare Center !
☺
Daggone, got something in the back of the apartment bldg sounds like a geiger counter! Can't tell if it is icy rain hitting something or the place is about to blow up ! :(
Ohhhhhhhhhhh...Margy!!
What, Lolly, the corny joke or the geiger counter? ☺ ☺ I could be brave and go outside to check....but I am a scaredy cat !
The corny Joke! LOL
I do hope you don't blow up!
Gotta go heat the stew and stir up some dumplings to go into the stew. BBL
Asked Jack if he was ready for supper and his reply...."sure!".
Poop! Went back to check Two Harbors, saw something approach the edge of the nest, thought it was a second eagle but then the lone eagle disappeared, happened so fast don't know what that second bird was....:(

MITS: If Ceil's train leave Chicago tonight at 7 - will that put them on the regular eastbound schedule?
yes, Margy it will.....
Ok, Margy, don't quit your day job(which is actually often a night job)....ha ha

they will be on the sleeper car:) I told her you might be on the platform:)
Okay MITS - I will know more in the morning, both as to whether I get tapped for some work time, and, what the train schedule holds. This brings out the Kid in me! Thanks! ☺

On the wedding front, new restaurant has been secured at a cheaper price than the first. Sometimes things just fall into place so nicely.
Night, everyone!
Special, Deb, both sets of news. What a positive end to the day...
Prayers surely will continue.
Hope your niece can relax a little, this is such a special time for her. ♥

Very good news Deb.
Margy I have this picture of you jumping up and down on the platform. I do hope you can do it. Take your camera and take a picture of Ceil. LOL
Okay Mother Hedgie... ☺
Good Night from This Roost too.
Hope morning brings great things.
xo
Nite Lynn! It does sound like Paula has the bug. So sorry! You guys keep that bug in your part of the country. Better yet, drown it in the ocean!
Will do Lolly, sure hope the timing all works out well. I am afraid she might want to hide under the covers though! Let's see, what kind of Gawdy Outfit can I come up with ?? xo 'Night...
Think I shall call it quits and go bathe. Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Those of you with the bug..prayers for you!!!!
