Information on the Tesoro nest from the Maine forum:
I heard from Lynda White a while back (early Dec.) and she indicated that she was having difficulty getting a response from Tesoro regarding access to the nest. At that time, they apparently had not been able to check on them. I'm not sure whether that means a problem with that relationship and I didn't ask any questions.....don't believe it is our business. I'm sure that if she is able to check on them, she will post something as we aren't the only ones that were following this nest. ....She indicated that she misses them terribly as well.
She did say that she is in hopes of funding for next season for a nest in the Orlando area......likely that means the fall of 2009.
Hi, Deb ...I haven't been around long enough to catch on to Tesoro, though I viewed some things here and there that you all had posted...hope you guys get your wish and they can be seen again...
And how is your Uncle getting along? Glad to hear you had a nice visit with your sister....tough when family has to leave though....I always was so sad after the holidays when all my brothers and sisters went back to college..when I was little....:(
Hedgie... when you check back in, - I went in and out the front entrance...it will be interesting to see how it all develops. It is a nice little parish with a great priest, so I hope it works out well. The priest is a former Marine, who travels back to North Carolina to a base there where he is a military chaplain, then he returns here on Friday, gets flown in and out both ways. Once a marine, always a marine, really. He was also assistant pastor at Saint James in Charles Town for a few years. Truly, one of a kind.
I'm going to flake out for awhile with some magazines and tea, catch you folks later...xox
My uncle is moving his ankle now on the his left leg, still nothing on the right leg. The doctors are giving him a 50/50 chance of walking again, which is quite a change from no chance. I think he is determined enough to do the work to make it happen!
Oh, I forgot to mention, there is a Potomac Valley Master Naturalist Class starting in February hereabouts, with half the training to take place at Cacapon State Park in Morgan County, WV, and the other half, to take place, at, you guessed it: NCTC !! Classes begin in March and end in October of this year. 64 hours of classroom time, 30 hours of volunteer work, tuition $300 per person, and limited to 20 persons....This was in Saturday's Martinsburg Journal....
Now I really wish I was retired !
If anyone wants additional information I have a name and contact number and a few other details....
Whoa! I should have checked for an update before I posted that, the neurologist was in, very slow progress in the right leg. We'll take it, way better than no progress!!
Deb that is good news, and encouraging to know he has the determination to make it happen...can tell he is kin to you! Prayers continue every day for him and all the family...
talked to Ceil, right before I went to mass, they were in Whitefish, Montana, about 2 hours behind schedule, they are expecting blizzard conditions tonight as the head to ND, she doesn't thin k they will make it home by Tuesday, but said they had a good time...Have been watching robins in the backyard, they always come for a winter visit, don't know why?
Go Ravens! Since my Skins aren't "in it", gotta defect to the AFC for the duration of this season since Baltimore IS!! Kind of the 2nd close-to-hometown team!
...Regarding the Master Naturalist Program: "After completing the training and volunteer work, particpants can engage in such activities as leading interpretive walks at state parks, assising state biologists with research and giving presentations to school children and other groups....

Norma: You always wanted to "pay" to work at NCTC ☺
Hi Everyone. So glad to see some good news ont he Blog. Folks who are recovering are checking in. Great news on continued progress for Debs uncle. Got some travelers who still need to return home. Some folks still getting their strength back form illnesses and surgeries and MeMa Jo checking in. Hoping each day she feels stronger.
Perhoas tomorrow we will get to see the happenings in our nest. I am actually just now sitting down to watch the Rose Parade. I got it taped on HGTV :) but have taken no time to watch it yet. Tonight is the night :).
Wanda, I see the pileateds all the time...as they continue to destroy my trees!!! But they are beauties...like I said once before here...don't know how they don't end up with a headache!
I guess we are lucky here, Lynn; the only tree they bother here is a big walnut stump, which they both (male & female) pound at. They must have an exceptionally hard head. I get a headache just watching those headbangers:) They don't visit us very often, I guess, because there are so many other trees in the woods which are appetizing to them.
That seems like an awfully long time to have a drain in your body. I had only one with Gall Bladder surgery and thought that was awful, but it was gone by the time I went home (7 or 8 days). I know she will be soooo glad to get rid of it.
Paula I was just going to tell you that for once I am not having any problems, but Blogger Cop got me! I have not had much opened up today, except to have a quick peek then close them out...also closing Blog out when I leave the house... Now, will this one go ? Good Night if we don't see you again ! xo
Good evening! Just watched The Bucket List. Good movie!
Jack and I had a picnic tonight and grilled hot dogs in the fireplace. LOL Even spread a picnic cloth.
Read quickly through the blog. I have never seen a pileated woodpecker and would dearly love to see one.
Wanda Sorry I checked out on you last night without saying good nite. Got distracted, I guess. I got a new camera recently, but decided I wanted a laptop more than a more expensive camera. I mainly take pictures of family and a small digital is all I need. The laptop is going to be great on trips. Interesting story about my new camera. My brother gave me and my sister small checks at the wedding in November. It was the end of Mother's money. We lost her two years ago. She did not have much, she had been a widow since '69 and we all shared in her expenses and let her keep her small income. She fretted that she could not by the whole family gifts. Well, Momma gave me a gift. I got my new camera.
Lolly - that is a beautiful story, about your camera.
I have a feeling that many of us are in fact having trouble getting the Blog to refresh...me too included now... so I am going to try to sneak this one, and then say:
Good Night to all, Peace, Love and Prayers....look forward to tomorrow's miracles. xox ♥
Lolly, who do you have as your Provider for your lap top? Do you have an Air Card? I'm so confused as to what steps you have to take before the lap top is usable.
My main reason for wanting a new camera, is because I have a terribly unsteady hand and have ruined many good shots because of that. Also, I take a lot of photos through the windows of the Eagle Express and the camera that we were looking at addresses both of those issues.
And I'm next. Fell asleep watching Bro's & Sis's. I haven't had any blog problems at all yesterday or today..miracle! Peace and prayers. PLEASE GET WELL, JO, and all others who are feeling badly! Have a good day at work tomorrow, Margy!
One last thought....Geula, if you are lurking....praying for your safety and peace in your country. Heard on the news that NYC Mayor Blumberg was there today!
Wanda, we have a router and it sends the signal from our home computer and phone line to this computer. When we are on the road we will have to connect at RV parks with wifi. People where you puchase a computer will help you to understand.
Sorry I missed ya magpie! I don't know how you work on these different shifts. I would never be able to rest switching around like that. You are such a trooper!

Perhoas tomorrow we will get to see the happenings in our nest.
I am actually just now sitting down to watch the Rose Parade. I got it taped on HGTV :) but have taken no time to watch it yet. Tonight is the night :).
Hi, Glo. Glad you are still up and about. We do miss Jo, and hope she will return tomorrow along with our cam;)
Eagle at LW!
Wanda, I see the pileateds all the time...as they continue to destroy my trees!!! But they are beauties...like I said once before here...don't know how they don't end up with a headache!
hi ya....nice win for the Ravens,,,Sharon still has one more drain to go:)
Anyone else having Blogger issues? Seems like everytime I try to refresh, it hangs up. Have to end task on IE to get back on.
So if you don't see me anymore tonight, I have given up!
Paula I was just going to tell you that for once I am not having any problems, but Blogger Cop got me!
I have not had much opened up today, except to have a quick peek then close them out...also closing Blog out when I leave the house...
Now, will this one go ?
Good Night if we don't see you again ! xo

That mess o'racoons at Pix PA is doing the get-well Jo routine
..they miss her her as much as WE do !
Good Night to all, Peace, Love and Prayers....look forward to tomorrow's miracles. xox ♥
Nite Margy! I have not had any problem refreshing, will see what happens.
Deer at snowman cam.
Lolly, who do you have as your Provider for your lap top? Do you have an Air Card? I'm so confused as to what steps you have to take before the lap top is usable.
***good night***
***eVerybody***
I'm glad your New Year is coming out as it should thus far. Keep the roll going. [:~D]
Jim
My main reason for wanting a new camera, is because I have a terribly unsteady hand and have ruined many good shots because of that. Also, I take a lot of photos through the windows of the Eagle Express and the camera that we were looking at addresses both of those issues.
Good Night Jim...have a good week:)
I guess I am next in line to call it a day.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Good night, Wanda...
Unsteady hand... So you got a camera that limits the motion in your shots? (can't think of the exact term now).
You might also think of a monopod and a short remote cable.
That way you place the monopod on the floor of the vehicle and hold onto that. Then you use the remote cable with your right hand.
You will have more stability from the monopod, and your hands will never directly touch the camera at the moment that you are shooting photos.
Jim
And I'm next. Fell asleep watching Bro's & Sis's.
I haven't had any blog problems at all yesterday or today..miracle!
Peace and prayers. PLEASE GET WELL, JO, and all others who are feeling badly!
Have a good day at work tomorrow, Margy!
Hey, Jim, I was thinking of telling Wanda the same thing!
Good Night from you absent Eagle Buddy
Doing a bit better today - going to call for an appointment tomorrow and get a miracle drug!
Prayers for all being said!
((hugs))
