First egg for BWE - how exciting! I watched her lay her first egg last year, it was Saturday afternoon, January 26th.
I've been reading the blog, but just haven't felt like chatting. I also have a lot to do at work, and I'll have to take some more time off next week, so I've been busy there. I did get to see our eagles today.
I wanted to update everyone on the educational material that Sandy Burk is working on. I received a CD today from her to review...I think ya'll will be really impressed! I've responded with some minor corrections. I'm not sure when the link on the NCTC website will be available...I'll make sure I let ya'll know.
Mits, can you forward me info on how to donate for Maggie. Thanks.

Got close to 80 today. We got our two projects completed and it is supposed to turn cold tonight. High tomorrow in the mid 40's. Guess I will stay in and clean house. Got my "book" back from the "publisher", and would you believe I found a mistake. I had typed 2008 instead of 2009. Aehhhhh!!!! That is a LOUD scream. LOL

Had to chase Dustin to bed so that I can say good night to all of you.
We have had a good day...got some things done that the fridged weather wouldn't allow us to do. Hadn't unloaded Motor Home yet or Winterized it with antifreeze. Done now. I have a ton of clothes to wash.
Spent the evening eating crab legs and Chinese with GeeGee. Her appetite is still very good.

Good morning all. Just got up to look at BWE nest and she isn't moving an inch. Our nest is MT tonight :( No Belle sitting in the egg cup yet, and wouldn'5 you know it, the sound is constant on the cam now that there is nothing to watch or listen to.
Well I had better get back to bed before I can't get back to sleep,
Tomorrow is another day.

I was up at 0230 and looked and it was not there then....
I would say this is a Good Sign
there is a Sea Eagle in the nest at Finney's also...Brrrrr

We have an eagle in the nest at NBG. I thought it was there last night. Have to go to forum to see if anything said.

Belle acts like she is trying to squeeze out an egg.
bOY! i crashed right after dinner, and here I am in the middle of the night (out West) working away trying to catch up before I get another urge to crash. Hahaha.
The lady with her first egg at BW is resting quietly ... off center by quite aways again this year. I don't know why she bothers to make an egg cup. She's missed it and ended up near the edge two years in a row.

What's peculiar is that even though our cam is tilted approx. 45°, she is setting at an unusual angle at the top of the screen, and she looks almost level in the picture.
She's snoozing away in the freezing wind...

Eagle just flew out of nest at NBG.
I full screened and do not see an egg at NBG.
Our 2nd eagle just flew into our nest. Both are there now.
Liberty just arrived on our nest and they touched beaks briefly.
I guess it "go" for this season.

Don't know if he was a new Papa at BW last year or not. Personally, I think it looked like the same one as the year before.
Two years ago the male brought more than enough. Last year could have been a fluke...fish were hard to find in the usual spots, or something.
He seems to have passed the tests of bringing his love food on the BWO nest with "flying colors." So, I'm expecting he will be successful this year. In fact neither chick died last year, and both fledged, so you could say he succeeded last year.

Thanks for the memory jog, Dana. I just tried it on BWE and our nest...works.
I don't think I ever got a way to capture NBG last year, but they take a lot of captures, and I think you can copy those.
Or, maybe I'll get some video capture software this year. Boy, with the economy down, I'm getting offers for new computers from Dell every day, and I just might get one
