Monday take 2--In the Nest

Here are some shots from this morning. Thanks to Nu for his great work. The cam is mounted in a way that makes precision aiming difficult. We think that the shot we have will work pretty well.

Hi Everyone! Great Excitement today!!
Not complaining, but cam's missing 5,6,7 o'clock. Looks like Spidey's web is gone!!!!!!YAY The view is like '06--I remember seeing the long, low building at top of pic.
I didn't vote on XL's name either. I liked Fu something--"Handsome & Happy Boy". But this will do----he's still a little sweetie!
Hooray, Wanda & Gene for your service in action!!! Will check pics! & try to find Steve's.

Paula, I see the "little black thingy" in the up,rt. corner! Can't really tell that's a road--gotta see some vehicles.
Deb, I'm just DYING-----you saw 30 eagles!! I've got to move! I'm sure there might be that many near water in this state---just gotta find the spots!

MODAY UPDATE Monday, December 8

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”

William Shakespeare
Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Shakespeare was correct; a name does not change the essence of that with which it is associated. On the other hand, a name is often the most vital of distinguishing factors. Although the cub has enjoyed celebrity status since before his birth, from this day forward rather than being referred to in the possessive – “Lun Lun’s cub,” “Zoo Atlanta’s giant panda cub” – he will be known in his own right. He will be known by his name – XI LAN (“Shee-Lahn”)!

We’ve all enjoyed watching Lun Lun and her cub 24 hours a day, but our little guy has reached his 100 day old milestone! Now that the cub has reached this milestone, Zoo Atlanta will return to the original Panda Cam hours. Beginning, Monday, December 8, 2008, through Wednesday, December 31, 2008, Panda Cam will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Don’t worry – the next best thing is even better! Now that the cub is learning the ropes of walking, he’ll soon make his long-awaited grand entrance into his habitat! Stay tuned for exciting announcements on when you can see him in person, and for now, take your Panda Cam peeks on weekdays from 10 to 5.

Mits said...

your eyes are younger than my eyes....I still only wear reading glasses, but know more on the way for me soon

Mits said...

I'm sure the Atlanta people are happy to get back to a more regular schedule

NatureNut said...

You're right, Helen!!Guess I('ll have to get reading glasses someday!
I can tell NOW that the large thingy we used to see at bottom left of nest that was 2-toned in color was the sycamore branch!
Can anyone tell what o'clock of the nest you would be seeing from the blacktop entrance road up from the Eagle Express parking spot? From that road, the barn was left of the tree.Just wondering as a reference point, as we didn't drive up behind or toward River. Wish I had!
