This should be the blustery day thread, the wind is realy whipping around outside here. Have a great day all, off to work outside, gonna be a bad hair day!
It's funny, isn't it? I like the old ads more than the new, they should bring em back. Now if I could just find that refreshment stand.. but I did have some stale marshmallows, so I'm heading back out..brr....

Good afternoon everybody. I am doing okay today. Last night while lying and watching TV, I was eating popcorn. Really bad idea. I got choked on the popcorn and thought I was going to die. Funny how we forget things. Never lay down and eat!! DUH!
My Sissy is cooking vegetable soup for supper. I hope I can eat it. My appetite still isn't too though.
DEB Thank heavens someone will see it. Is It Liberty. Doesn't look big enough for Belle? I finally even checked to see if the clock was right or stopped.
Oh that could be too DEB. I never got the TV turned on when I came in from church and breakfast. I wanted to look at our nest soooo bad as I hadn't had the chance in a couple of days. This has really been a little time. I think I gave the call around 12:37? for the first appearance of Liberty.
I guess we will have to enjoy the beautiful sight for them. :)
Hey MITS. We don't have a 12 noon mass here. We just have 9am. This just goes to show you you should get up earlier and maybe catch them twice in one day. :)
Thanks Helen, I must be seeing a part of a baby chick then.
Oh well, that is what I get for trying to see if we had live cam on our nest. As soon as I did that, the nest emptied out, but they were there for a good while.
Afternoon, fowl friends! Been lurking off and on. Was just watching Atlanta...lil Luney is growing so fast...Lun Lun acts like it's getting hard to pick him up w/ her mouth...mostly just dragging him, and then cuddles him up to her neck....so cute! BTW....did you know that sea otters have a million hairs per square inch on their bodies???
LOL! Bald is beautiful, Jim!!! Going to get the trash out before anything else happens weatherwise--calling for flurries. Then a snack and a movie. SKINS play Dallas tonight at home....GOTTA WIN!!! BBL.
Poor Luney keeps trying to pust himself into the wall. If he would only turn around and push with his feet against the wall, he might get someplace. You have all heard of butting your head up against a wall..........
DEB, love your new avatar! Mine is suppose to have falling leaves, also, but, try as I might...just couldn't get them to fall. They fall on my profile page, but when I SAVE it...they stop falling! Paula gave me instructions on how to do that and it use to work, but not now :( :(
Sharon is so special. She is so good at sooo many things, especially spotting Lib & Belle, I can't believe she missed them this afternoon by 2 or 3 minutes. Or, maybe she did see them, but didn't feel like commenting.
Sure does look as though it is snowing in the PA woods! Hedgie you said it was sleeting over there sometime today.. All I know is that it is cold out there. I am never ready for this seasonal change.
Hi again. Yes, Jo, we had sleet three different times. Cold and windy...fire is going so toasty inside! Well, thank goodness this miserable NASCAR season is over. Haven't even watched much the last few races...what a bore. Getting anxious for game at 8:15...GO SKINS!!!! ☺ ☺ ☺
Howdy, all. Stopped by the nest this morning...no Lib or Belle in sight...looked for turtle shells, couldn't find a one! All the leaves are off the tree!
Went to Betty's for Breakfast. Then went down to see Mom. Stopped by Mom's house and raked leaves.
I'll try to get some pics posted later...gotta watch the Nature Bald eagle program on PBS at 8.
Just finished watching the nature show WOW was he talking about OUR eagles at times or not... That snow storm segment did me in - got me teary eyed. I would give that a 4* rating. For someone watching that has never been through what we have seen and learned - I think they covered it all.
I am still at Sissy's. Afraid to be by myself yet. I did eat a little soup. I am having pain when I eat for some reason, not sure what the reason is though.
I am watching the eagle show on PBS now. I too have learned about all of this stuff right here. Waiting for Andrew to get home. He spent the weekend with Kelsey and her family so I haven't seen him since the surgery. Looking forward to getting a hug from the little turd.
Sharon, maybe at half-time, Lynn will come on and give her opinion on the eating and tummy problem...It could be gas. I seemed to have a lot of gas after my surgeries.
Sunday, November 16 The cub must have been exhausted from his crawling attempts yesterday because tonight he slept the entire night until about 5:00 a.m., when he awoke because he was hungry. Lun Lun was also tired; after eating for an hour and a half late in the evening, she promptly fell asleep and slept the rest of the night. Since the cub is older, Lun Lun can spend more time away from him. Now the time she spends on her own includes resting as well as eating. I am not really surprised by the amount of time they spent sleeping – giant pandas typically spend about 10-12 hours per day resting in intervals of 2-4 hours at a time. Cubs, of course, spend much more time resting. As with all young mammals, panda cubs need to expend energy growing instead of involved in activity. Indeed, he is growing! In the past 24 hours, he has gained 81 grams, bringing his latest weight to 3.72 kg.
Well, my boy is home now so I am going to visit with him a little while and then go to bed. I don't know what is up with the eating thing but maybe I will lose a little weight in the process. ☺
Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur. Love you all.
LYNN, I didn't know about the new Il Divo album. When I got my new car, I would open the moon roof and put on my Il Divo CD and ride off into the sunset. Did it so many times I'm getting tired of same ol' same ol'. I will buy that for my birthday. Mom always gives me money for B'Day and I don't have a chance to spend it til after the shop is closed. THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP :)
Yes, Wanda, and Sharon...gas is often a big problem following abdominal surgery. Used to be they wouldn't even consider discharging until after a movement....now they just listen more for bowel sounds (gas movement). If you haven't "gone", Sharon, maybe some prune juice would be a help. At least some GasX would be worth a try.
Good position to facilitate gas movement is to lay on left side w/ left leg straight and right leg knee bent, drawn up toward chest. It lets the bowel kind of spread out and relax!
I love prunes and prune juice, but not what it does to me. I never need that kind of help. My Mom uses Miralax and it works wonders for someone who is continually on pain meds. Until she discovered that, she was miserable.
The dogs get their hair cut tomorrow at 8 AM, so I will need to be out the door at 7:20. I will go see how many eagles have arrived. I found 6 yesterday. (pictures on my page--4 of them were a long way away)
The one you are talking about looks like it is going on 4. (I had to go see which one you were talking about.) In the middle picture I think the center eagle looks like 4 going on 5, but it was so far away, it is hard to tell.

wow, Megan, that looks like an ad from the 50's :)
It's funny, isn't it? I like the old ads more than the new, they should bring em back. Now if I could just find that refreshment stand.. but I did have some stale marshmallows, so I'm heading back out..brr....
there are some funny ads today, but the old ones still crack me up

Good morning, do we have two baby hummers or is the unhatched egg hiding?
The big ball of fluff at CC has an osprey in it. Every once in awhile its head pops out.
The eggs were laid: October 29 & 31, 2008 ... Hatched: November 15 & 16, 2008]
Thanks, Helen. I had checked that when I opened the cam and it wasn't there. Mom is off the nest now.
I did see an part of an egg earlier
been in there alot this a.m., keeps getting smacked in the face with the fluff...:)
Two moose on moose cam.
both osprey at CC.
their full screen capacity is great
I can't do full screen for some goofy reason. I opened CC in Firefox, same thing.
Okay, I was just reading through the blog and I did not see an Amen at the end of the forecast!
Well you know what to expect when our outstanding eagle eye isn't around to keep tabs on us lol
Guess you thought you could do what the pandas do and lay back & chew
on their bamboo!! Well when you choke - you cough - I bet that hurt!
Eagle Alert in our nest.
HELLO EAGLE IN NEST!
Oh my, I guess no one is at home. :(
Jo, Sharon, Mits, Deb. Come out come out from wherever you are.
Eagle is still there. I need someone to twll me who it is.
I am going crazy because I can't raise anyone. You must all be napping or eating. Too late for church.
SHARON Glad to hear you are feeling better but that popcorn episode is what happened to me one time. I don't eat Popcorn much after that anymore.
Hummer is off nest and babies are visible.
I got it, Candy!!
DEB Thank heavens someone will see it. Is It Liberty. Doesn't look big enough for Belle? I finally even checked to see if the clock was right or stopped.
From that angle it is hard to tell, but I think you are right on it being Lib.
I liked the sound of Steve's message on yesterdays blog about the cam and am hoping that we have better luck this year.
BOTH!!
DEB Both birds in nest now.
That answers the question, it was Lib, Belle has arrived.
WOW What a day. It makes up for me not being able to see them much during the week!!!!!!!
I hope so, too, Candy. It was so much fun to watch when we had a live feed and sound.
Yes DEB, you can see that Belle is much larger. I am so excited, that I missed mother hummer coming back to her nest. I'll take the eagles anytime.
One gone. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Still one there.
Lib took off.
I take that back, he is still there, at 12 o'clock.
Look right above Belle's head, he is there.
OMG, I see he is still there. We need a wider or taller screen!
I wonder if everyone is watching football!
Liberty must b e making room so that Belle can get the feel of the egg cup so they can start to get that made. :)
just walked in from church...hey candy, some of us go to Noon Mass up here...
Oh that could be too DEB. I never got the TV turned on when I came in from church and breakfast. I wanted to look at our nest soooo bad as I hadn't had the chance in a couple of days. This has really been a little time. I think I gave the call around 12:37? for the first appearance of Liberty.

Hey MITS. We don't have a 12 noon mass here. We just have 9am. This just goes to show you you should get up earlier and maybe catch them twice in one day. :)
Wow, long visit today. After all the quick in and outs, this is nice.
MITS so glad you could catch them.
Great to see them both!
Even if it is only his feet.
When they go up to the nest for a quick something or other
WE NEED TO
TELL THEM TO ADJUST THE CAN A LITTLE
SO WE CAN SEE LIB AT 12 NOON
You know I mean the C A M
BTW Did the hummer have 3 eggs. Looks like an egg left unbroked in the nest or maybe it is just the shell.
So glad to see you are on witnessing the beautiful sight JO.
hummer had 2 eggs, and 2 have hatched
Well, it was nice while it lasted!
off to find something to eat...me...not the eagles...bbl
Thanks Helen, I must be seeing a part of a baby chick then.
Oh well, that is what I get for trying to see if we had live cam on our nest. As soon as I did that, the nest emptied out, but they were there for a good while.
I'm off to change from my church clothes so I can get comfortable. BB
Thanks for that heads up Deb or else I would have missed them. Getting a lot of emails with pics from Germany.
Hubby is putting a new hard drive in
TODAY!
Signing off in order to get my new
hard drive ! I'll be back soon in FULL FORCE!
Lun Lun and son are in the midst of a cute cycle and I think she just grabbed him by the back of the neck and carried him into the den.
He was really energetically squirming around the floor, so he'll probably be crawling soon.

Afternoon, fowl friends! Been lurking off and on. Was just watching Atlanta...lil Luney is growing so fast...Lun Lun acts like it's getting hard to pick him up w/ her mouth...mostly just dragging him, and then cuddles him up to her neck....so cute!

Some new feed (corn or seed) has been strown out at Pa. cam and Suirrels are having their fill.
Maine Cam sure looks cold and windy. Our nest is still MT. Maybe a visit will happen earlier om tje [,/
That is earlier in the pm. :)
Poor Luney keeps trying to pust himself into the wall. If he would only turn around and push with his feet against the wall, he might get someplace. You have all heard of butting your head up against a wall..........
Everything seems calm for now,so guess I'll sign off for now. Later gators.
Eagle in Maine!
DEB, love your new avatar! Mine is suppose to have falling leaves, also, but, try as I might...just couldn't get them to fall. They fall on my profile page, but when I SAVE it...they stop falling! Paula gave me instructions on how to do that and it use to work, but not now :( :(

I wonder if Paula got to see them today when she was at NCTC.

Wonder if Paula had some bacon at Betty's Restaurant :)
I thought so, too, Helen.
Wanda, I think that is the first avatar I got to have animation. I have tried before and it hasn't work.
Yep, that's Lib's feetsies.
Holler Eagle! and we all come running....
Hope to hear from Loretta soon on how the wedding went...hope she has pictures for us!

He looked all around for Belle and she did not show so he left.
Sharon is so special. She is so good at sooo many things, especially spotting Lib & Belle, I can't believe she missed them this afternoon by 2 or 3 minutes. Or, maybe she did see them, but didn't feel like commenting.

Margy hope it is a slow evening.
Off to fix supper.

Wasn't the wind working against you with the leaves?!
We just got through watching the Bald Eagle Program on PBS...Enjoyed it very much!
wow....what an awesome show that was:)
I taped it to watch later.
Game time. Later!!
Good show. Did not learn anything that I did not know thanks to all the information we have learned on the blog from our nest. Beautiful pictures.
Good evening everyone.
Hello, Sharon:)
I thought the same thing, Ceil, we have learned alot about eagles:)
Just finished watching the nature show WOW was he talking about OUR eagles at times or not... That snow storm segment did me in - got me teary eyed. I would give that a 4* rating. For someone watching that has never been through what we have seen and learned - I think they covered it all.
Hi Sharon did you eat any of Sissy's veggie soup? It sounded so
good! I am hoping your appetite will soon return - Miss You ((hugs))
I didn't know about the lead being a killer...that was so sad:(
Hi, Sharon...are you home now or still at Sissy's?
SKINS GAME...BBL
I think I see it snowing now on the snowman cam - there is more snow on the ground then earlier today.
Sharon, if you can't eat the veggies in the soup, at least drink some broth...very good for healing.
Good evening everyone;I am watching
the nature show on public TV at
this time.It is on the Bald eagle.
I just love it.

I am still at Sissy's. Afraid to be by myself yet. I did eat a little soup. I am having pain when I eat for some reason, not sure what the reason is though.

Waiting for Andrew to get home. He spent the weekend with Kelsey and her family so I haven't seen him since the surgery. Looking forward to getting a hug from the little turd.
Sharon - is it raining or snowing in Bluefield? On the cam it just looks like the streets are wet.
Sharon, maybe at half-time, Lynn will come on and give her opinion on the eating and tummy problem...It could be gas. I seemed to have a lot of gas after my surgeries.
DAVE...I enjoyed that show too. Love anything that features eagles.

I think the most frequent questions I get at zoo..."is when are they going to wake up"?
only 1 falcon in the nest at Alcoa right now
PBS Show was great...loved hearing the wingbeats...
there was something new I heard on there...have to think of what it was...
I taped the show too so I could watch later..
Mom doing good...now to fatten her up...
I just ate ice cream and my hands are so cold from holding the dish.
I feel like putting my gloves on...

Good Night Dave - If I get up earlier I very well could greet you.
Being retired meets my sleeping schedule.........
Cowboys tied it up 7 to 7
Well, my boy is home now so I am going to visit with him a little while and then go to bed. I don't know what is up with the eating thing but maybe I will lose a little weight in the process. ☺
Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur. Love you all.
Halftime....10-7 Skins...
Wanda, new Il Divo release Tues.--The Promise. First in 2 yrs.!
Good Nite Sharon
Pray you have a good night's rest.
Say Hello to Andrew for me.
Those Skins weren't going to let that half time come without the lead!

No precipitating right now Mema Jo but we had now during the night last night.
Meant not!
GAME BACK ON.
I just finished the eagle show, it was really good. I loved looking in the nests! I taped it, also, to save.
The dogs get their hair cut tomorrow at 8 AM, so I will need to be out the door at 7:20. I will go see how many eagles have arrived. I found 6 yesterday. (pictures on my page--4 of them were a long way away)
Deb on the 3rd pic down Is that a
juvie on the left?
Boo...what a crock! Just can't believe these last two games.
Great pics, Deb!! As always!
Heading for tub. See you tomorrow! Sweet dreams, and peace for all.
There was only one adult, Jo. The rest were different ages of juveniles.
Jo, juvies in Deb's 2nd and 3rd pics...
The one you are talking about looks like it is going on 4. (I had to go see which one you were talking about.) In the middle picture I think the center eagle looks like 4 going on 5, but it was so far away, it is hard to tell.
That's cool you get to see eagles Deb. Around here, it's an hour or more drive to see that many...
The other is behind the tree limbs, but I don't think it is an adult either.
Pretty soon there will be more, I can't wait!
You just keep on taking those pics - I love looking at them......
Going to hit the hay.......
Good Night Everyone
Peace to you & yours
Prayers for everyone's needs being
said.......

Night Deb, and anyone else still awake!
I just got around to looking at Deb's photos...the snow geese are sooo special. I would love to see that in person.

GOOD MORNING Sissy...Good way to start our day!

Short and sweet this morning!
How did Sharon sleep last night?
She is not sleeping a whole lot. She was up when I got up to work. I think she is up and down all night. She is doing really good though. I am amazed at how well she is doing.
She is still in a lot of pain, but it should get a little better each day.

Good morning magpie!! Missed the ferry boat this morning.
