New thread.

Still waiting for word. Our IT dept. is short staffed this week...

Update: 2:50 Still no luck, but our guys have been trying to diagnose the problem for most of the day. I'm afariad the problem could be up the tree, and if so, we may be up a creek...

Looks like 1 adult and three babies in the nest.

wvgal_dana said...

paula eagleholic said...

I couldn't tell what was going on in that one screen shot either! Wings, Wings, Everywhere!

wvgal_dana said...

Mits calling Mits to the new thread I checked she isn't on the old thread.
Someone " hold open the door for Mits".

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry did I post as ANON, was caught up in all the action at the nest.

wvgal_dana said...

Thank you whomever held the door open for Mits

Anonymous said...

LOL Vicky, thanks for holding the door for me. I get a little excited when there is action in these nest, where ever they are....

Anonymous said...

Wish BW had live streaming cam, some beautiful take-offs and landings.

wvgal_dana said...

Floralgirl when you come in and read this could you do me a "favor". Could you put a pretty pic of flowers beside you name in "Honor of Hugo" for awhile? Then you can change them if you want to. I would really appreciate it and ty.

wvgal_dana said...

Mits are they taking off at the Washington State Osprey video?

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, Suzanne, I believe that is some "poop" that didn't get washed away on the BW camera lens.

Anonymous said...

Suzanne, I read it while I was banging on the door to get in over here.

wvgal_dana said...

Suzanne you don't re-type it is a cut and paste from there to here.

wvgal_dana said...

lol Thanks Paula for important information need to go check it out lol

wvgal_dana said...

Which one is lil bit?

Anonymous said...

Just checked in Washington site, all 3 are resting and doing that strectch 1 wing out to the side. Conn chick looks like he will take off in the near future. LIFE GOES ON!!!!

Mema Jo said...

Good Late Morning! I awaken and Hugo was right there on my mind. Nature is nature - we are very fortunate to have had a successful season with our three eaglets becoming Soaring Eagles. I want to go over to BirdGirls Blog & see what she has to tell us.
I'll be in & out today but will keep checking in with all my eagle buddies.

Anonymous said...

WVA-GAL That is a wonderful request you have made from FLORALGIRL Maybe some white lillys???

wvgal_dana said...

Mits is there a certain time of day that the baby panda gets in the pool everyday? I've watched them so much but never caught him in the pool?

Anonymous said...

MEMA-JO Don't forget to check the storks own site that has pics and audio and comment fro his fans on the English forum.

Anonymous said...

Vicky,Tai seems to do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it. My sister and I have been watching him everyday since he was 12 hours old, he is, to say the least, unpredictable. But he has been such a joy to watch. I only live 5 miles from the Zoo in D.C. so when I get back to town, when the crowds die down, we will pay him another visit.

Mema Jo said...

Mits I was doing that late last night - the English forum. That's probably why I had him on my mind first thing this am....

wvgal_dana said...

Ok but if there a certain time a day that is the time they set up the pool for him?

wvgal_dana said...

Mits make a detour go to Cambridge Maryland and wipe the cam lens off please.

wvgal_dana said...

ty Suzanne for your answers.
British Columbia 2 eaglets in nest 1 bought in its own food the other just stole it. Remind you of anyone. I didn't see the one that brought it in "mantle" it just tried to move away carrying its food.

Anonymous said...

VICKY The keepers set up everything in the morning and they keep the door open to the den so they can come in or out as they please. Did you read yesterdays' update. The Dad Tian-Tian loved the pool of ice that was set up, they said he had ice sticking to his fur.

movin said...

Good morning, Everybody...

Jim

Anonymous said...

I really should drive up there, don't think they would let me get near the lens. They will fix it, they are really good about maintaining that cam and updated.

Geula said...

Hi all! I'm back...

Just so you don't get worried, the keepers at the Haifa Zoo have put the big cats in a secure area (indoors) and have put the other animals in their indoor exhibits and areas, so they're not in any danger. They said that most of the animals get scared at the big noise they hear, but that can't be helped.

The Zoo is closed to the public for the duration.

Anonymous said...

GEULA So sorry you are going thru this, glad the animals are being taken care of....you stay safe.

Anonymous said...

Just a gentle reminder: CRISTMAS IS 5 MONTHS FROM TODAY! Thank you and good day.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Thanks for the reminder, Mits. What are you going to get me?

Has anybody looked at the cam lately. Not updating anymore, just looks kind of dead! So, it is over or they are working on it!!

paula eagleholic said...

Was just reading the commentary on the LI Osprey nest. Apparently the Osprey parents are raiding someone's fish pond, as they have been eating Koi and Goldfish this morning!

paula eagleholic said...

There are 3 chicks in the nest, and apparently one just fledged this morning. There is one left to fledge.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Nix the last statement I made. Same ole, same ole on the pics again! Has anybody read what is under the still cam picture?

Anonymous said...

SHARON How about a cam that works...ooppss, did I say that. I feel a censor coming on...

Anonymous said...

PAULA That is too funny, I bet the people are outraged. These osprey must have exspensive taste.

paula eagleholic said...

Mits,
They are on Long Island, Ya know!

Anonymous said...

Someone will probably run an SUV into the nesting pole to show their outrage.

Anonymous said...

SHARON I just read that:(:(

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

For an eaglet fix, there is still an eaglet in the NU nest!

Anonymous said...

Actually I saw 2 tails a little while ago at that site.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I was thinking the NU eaglets had already fledged and were just coming back. I watched an MT nest for a while the other day, or thought it was anyway. I can't find where they have posted anything recently on the happenings there.

Anonymous said...

Your right, I think, SHARON, they have fledged, and just come back for visits.

Anonymous said...

SUZANNE Will do my best. Just wrote to Lisa to tell her what a great job she does.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Mits, Lisa really does do a great job doesn't she? Seems to be really dedicated.

paula eagleholic said...

Sharon,
She does a wonderful job!

Anonymous said...

YES, SHARON AND PAULA, She does a great job and I think she really enjoys our company:):):)LOL!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

2 eaglets in the NU nest again. Lots of wing flapping happening!

Anonymous said...

Just heard from LISA OF BLACKWATER Still no site of the MIA fledge, she gave me some scenarios, that are not good, but they still have hope, that Dad might be with him, since Dad has not be around that often recently. She said a neighboring chick flew into the nest this a.m., but left quickly.

wvgal_dana said...

ok up-to-date on comments those osprey at ny better enjoy that food lol
watching when can blackwater also to see if he fledges but have to go out later today

Anonymous said...

Tai Shan will not come down from that tree today, and ,Mei Xiang is back "in the grotto".

Anonymous said...

LISA Has a picture of the visiting chick on the BW site.

Anonymous said...

YELLLLLOW!!!!, Anyone in here?

wvgal_dana said...

Well maybe someone did get mad about the fish and run into the nset with an SUV. The cam is down now.

wvgal_dana said...

I know Mits went in to see if maybe in pool and up that darn tree. He won't come down until he wants too.

wvgal_dana said...

Mits hoping Dad and son are just doing a longggggggg camping trip just the two of them.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I am here.

Norma, I will keep your instructions in mind!!

The camera may be down permanently now. We haven't heard the final word but it is not fixed yet so it doesn't look good. More to be revealed for sure. LOTS OF BROKEN HEARTS AROUND HERE!

floralgirl said...

Okay-Here's my simple tribute to Hugo from my garden -white nicotiana, grows tall and wobbly ,yet gracefully, like Hugo- Moonflower with a heart shaped leaf, your love for Hugo- Both these flowers bloom and shine at night with a wonderful sweet fragrance, much like the sweet Hugo filled many of your evenings. RIP HUGO

Bird Girl said...

By the way, something does seem to be a bit off with the CT Osprey chick. I don't know if he's injured or just being lazy, but it does seem odd that he isn't standing up, even when there is another bird there (someone is sitting ON the camera, I see the shadow).

wvgal_dana said...

Hi Norma sounds like you all did have a very very exciting time with the 'man' I mean the eaglets.

wvgal_dana said...

Just looked in on him he is up flapping his wings yeaaaaaaa

Anonymous said...

I saw that VICKY I hope not...Tai is one spoiled little panda cub, but I love him to pieces.

Bird Girl said...

CT OSPREY UPDATE:

He just stood up when Mom came to the nest, flapped his wings a couple of times.

Now that I can see the feet and legs, I'd have to say that it appears that at least his left toes are swollen. He didn't stay on his feet long, either.

I'll probably shoot an email over to them, just in case...

BG

paula eagleholic said...

Floralgirl,
That is beautiful, thank you.

wvgal_dana said...

There was something flying over head and mom had her beak opened real far; chick and mom kept watching, I believe it was danger.

wvgal_dana said...

You could see the shadow of it.

Anonymous said...

FLORALGIRL Perfect tribute to HUGO. Thank You so much!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

FloralGirl, thanks so much for your tribute to Hugo. Still have a sad heart today over him!

Anonymous said...

VICKY They have been like that all day. When 1 parent was in the nest, I could see the shadow of the other sitting on a limb.

wvgal_dana said...

Floralgirl Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's in a heart shape too. You put the "perfect one up". My tears are thanking you For Our Little Hugo May God carry him to the land of Peace, Plenty to eat and no suffering for His creatures.

Anonymous said...

What have you all been watching? I guess I w/have to get used to watching other sites---(will always keep the pic of Spunky sitting in her usual place in the nest & not sharing--

It was great. meeting the momsters in person-----was delighted Vicky-IL made it home safely---MITS--noticed you mentioned Christmas----I rec. Xmas card brochure from Nat. Wildlife last week----I'll send it on to you----KIDDING---w/give us something to do till Belle & Liberty return----(not funny, is it?)

Anonymous said...

:(:(:(:( I have to resist the habit of going over to Germany to view his cam. Wonder where the parents are?

Anonymous said...

NORMA I'm looking forward to watching this from the start. I got in around the middle of March this past season.

Just Vicky said...

My still cam just does not have a picture, mostly lines!

Anonymous said...

Tai Shan LORD OF THE TREES, thats what the keepers call him, has come down for some play time with Mom.

Anonymous said...

FLORAGIRL----Thanks----That is such a beautiful tribute to Hugo----he will be missed by many---

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, Mits, I didn't resist and went to Hugo's site. WHY THE HECK DO THEY STILL HAVE THAT CAMERA TURNED ON? Doesn't make sense to me. I also watched a video from not long before he died and his little legs were buckling under him. There are people on the discussion board that are absolutely outraged just like we are. Intervention should have happened. I know that mother nature takes her own course but they interrupted that by placing him there to begin with. Everyone says that all the stork babies in that nest in the past 2 years have died and it is contaminated. Those people will not be returning to watch that nest next year.

AND THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT!

Anonymous said...

SHARON, I AM SOOOOOO WITH YOU ON THAT SUBJECT!!!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

There are 2 eaglets in the NU nest again. Lovely to see eaglets!! SURE DO WISH WE COULD SEE OURS, especially knowing they are still coming to the nest!

Anonymous said...

THAT'S A FACT JACK!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I wonder if that is our MARLEY who is posting on the stork forum??

Anonymous said...

Wish I could speak the German, not sure how to post on the English forum, instructions are in German.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Where is everybody?

Mema Jo said...

I have returned for a short while - then I'll be gone again. I went over to Storchennest after midnight & the mother storch was just busy moving the twigs around the edge of the nest.
FloralGirl the tribute you paid Hugo is very heart warming. You choose everything for a special reason. Very touching! Thank You.

Mema Jo said...

Nilla Had call me earlier - she goes into the store at 5:00 today. Then she will say hello to all.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Hello Mema Jo. We have missed you today! :)

Now, that just breaks my heart, still cannot get on to blog, the regular way and this page is really strange. Guess it was something I said..

Anonymous said...

Thanks SUNNY I did put my e-mail on one page yesterday for any updates, but some people are better at updates than others....

Going to take a break, can't stand it when the blog treats me like this...Bad Blog! Bad Blog!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

There is still an eaglet in the NU nest. Been there most of the day. BEAUTIFUL but not ours!

Mema Jo said...

Steve just placed an update on the main page. I think, like he said,we're up the creek - because no one will go up the tree....

floralgirl said...

Is this blog is going crazy the past couple of days,or is it me?I have so much trouble posting lately .Hello-Jo,Mits,WV GAl Vicky,Paula,Sharon, and Norma Sounds like we are out of luck with the cam...SIGH... So glad we got to see them in person, wish everyone could see them soaring through the air. What a beautiful summer day it is,sure the eagles are flying high in the summer breeze.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Okay, who is ready for the catapult? Those babies wouldn't hurt us if we would try to fix our cam!

Anonymous said...

Still am getting in thru the back-door, Thanks for keeping it unlocked. Yes FLORALGIRLmany problems with the blog. So OK, no more cams, well can someone fix the blog then!!!! I don't think that is too much to ask for Pretty Please!!!

Mema Jo said...

WELL By the time we place all names in a hat and/or draw straws to decide which Eaglet Momster/Popster is going to go up that tree - give that person a short cam battery replacement course - then rent a boom to at least get that person 10 feet from the nest - the rest needs to be climbed - reach the cam - replace the battery - jump into the nest - throw all turtle shells to the ground - IT WOULD ALREADY BE AUGUST 1 - TURN THE CAM OFF DATE

Mema Jo said...

LET'S FACE IT ! WE'RE NOT ONLY UP A CREEK

WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A PADDLE

Anonymous said...

Knocking at the front door, still cannot get in...have not been able to read Stevens' last msg.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Steven's last message:

Such a shame after all this time and we are missing the final moments. Hope NCTC can find, a cam that actually works, like I have stated before, hope they are getting credits for time cam has not be up and running. They can take that money and invest in a more competent cam firm. IMHO!

Anonymous said...

Thank You Sharon, If know one is using those paddles, pass them over to me so I can knock down the front door to get in....

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I like IYHO. I totally agree. This really is frustrating. Just gone with no forewarning. Hard to take but I will pray for acceptance!!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Still 2 eaglets in the NU nest!

Anonymous said...

Yes, I accept it, have no choice, but I don't like it. Other sites have regular maintenance schedules, why can't this site? I have even tried starting from scratch and goggling NCTC and it still comes up page is not available. Glad you sent this to me Sharon, at least I can get onto blog, nothing on the front page anyhow:(:(

Warning long post

Checked back through the Archives and I was the second person to ever post on this NCTC Blogsite. The first one was someone named Beth If she still lurks or has changed her name on here, I wish she would say hi. I'd like to know who it is.

The first post I see that I think I recognize the name too is Sharon on April 6, and she is already asking about the spider He certainly has been with us the whole time too!! LOL

I think what I am trying to say is Why not share on the BLOG when you came in here, how you found us, IF YOU ARE A QUIET LURKER Say Hi while we are still all here together.

I'm sure late fall or early winter we will get to being really eagle/eaglet focused and active again

But for now as the camera even closes down on us...maybe just anything people are thinking and feeling about the past few months of sharing so much of their lives with this eagle family and those who love them.

For me Glo I just want to say I have long loved the eagle. I found this site while in another womens forum and someone mentioned this live eagle cam. I was here instantly then...and immediately in awe of what was happening. I was excited and a little scared too, of how it would all work out. Except for the fact that I thought they were absolutely gorgeous and majestic, before coming here and watching them up close like this, I knew absolutely nothing about eagles. I do live where I can see them on occasion and have enjoyed their sights and sounds up close. In fact spring before this I was too sick to go to work I really was But every day I drove over to a Marina about 10 minutes from my house, bundled up and walked and searched and listened. I couldn't count them that year there were so many. I wish I could have just stayed there with them and never have to come home. I just so love to watch them. They come back to my area late winter and early spring and I will go back and look for them some more. This year I only saw less than a dozen or so. Not sure why that was. I sure hope thay haven't changed their minds about nesting at the Marina.

Anyway, anyone else want to join me on Remebering where we've been and the journey to here

It is sad to accept that the camera has probably gone down on us. However I will forever be greatful for the experience that Steve and those working with him at NCTC have given me to watch so close and learn so much about one of my all time very favorite creatures!!!
Thanks all of you involved with this project. An absolutely unforgetable experience for me.

I really think I have a very bad case of the MT Nest Syndrome... I just feel very 'down in the dumps. I will pull out of it - but it is affecting my ability to put my thoughts into words. These past 5 months have been filled with every human emotion possible while watching this eagle family. An experience I will never forget. Mostly I appreciate the new friends I have found and with whom I have bonded. It's amazing what these 3 little fuzz balls have accomplished with their existance. I will so be ready for the new season to begin. I have high hopes the technology will be far more superior then this beginning year. Soaring Eagles! That would be a good name for a club. Maybe next season. I'll be back!

mema jo Well of curse next season you'll be back. Some people know where you live now I imagine...or at least they know the tavern you frequent. Thanks for sharing some of what is going on for you right now..I am very sure you are not at all alone!!!

mema jo are you saying "i'll be back" because you have to step away from the blog for a minute or two. Or are you talking about when the new cam gets set up you'll be back?

This might be long and I am just gona let my fingers do the walkin..lol In answer to the resturant being expensive No not at all for the Clarion Hotel.. by the way Clinton held Summit meetings there with foreign presidents FBI every where and checks on the road they stopped you. Moving on... Actually i was watching the eggs when laid but didnt make a name until i think April.. My kids call me nuts and the crazy bird lady the guys from the Karate class next to the store have called me.. This has been a learning experiance for me also neva been interested in birds , heck my sister Vicky raises Parrots and i always thought she was goofy..And here i became inthralled with this family and babies..Watching them grow, struggle to survive and fledge. But the many road trips i have made over to NCTC (15 MINUTES AWAY) setting there watching the skies for them.. But with all of them this passed wknd visit NOTHING can compare to the sight and view those of use attending had soaring, playing. nesting ,eating, the sounds they make so clear.. And that Spunky lil devil we could not believe she set on that food for almost an hour..lol Well possibly last trip over for me , but then again neva know. Yes have had camera problems but with 1st year comes learning and patience which we all have some of when its down. I have met many of you in person which was a real pleasure. Friendships have formed and even if we drift away from time to time always in the back of our minds will be Liberty&Belle and the 3 kids we love so much.. Yikes better end this and go put car windows up raining..

I had mugs done before and the pictures on here should have been bigger due to size of mug...if you didn't know what the words were you would have to use a magifying glass to read them ...sorry but true still is beautiful and glad I got it. No you can't have it..I'm keeping it in hopes that a better one will develope. Please don't be mad at me I appreciate being able to get the mug. ok your not mad?

First I want to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to all the people that have been involved with providing the experience of watching an eagle family go from Mom and Dad to a family of five incredible examples of our country's symbol. Having moved to Virgina from the Midwest, I had never seen an eagle until we went to Busch Garden here in Williamsburg. It was so incredible to just stand and view several of these beautiful birds in a beautiful setting making all kinds of racket chatting with one another. We stood and watched them for a very long time.
Four years ago, on Memorial Day my husband and I were on our back porch. I happened to look down at a pond that is not far from our house when I saw a large bird sitting near the water. I grabbed the binoculars and looked to confirm what I thought was an eagle just sitting facing the water. My husband confirmed what I thought. I ran to tell our neighbors--we watched this bird for over an hour. It turned out he was feasting on a turtle from the pond. After he finished, he went to the water and got another. I later found out there are at least a pair of eagles (if not more)nesting in our subdivision--there are several protected wetlands in the subdivision. What an amazing sight this whole thing was--not to be forgotten.

The same neighbor does some teaching at a government school in Shepherdstown about once a month. He heard about the NCTC website and told me about it. I believe two eggs had hatched when I started watching and have been watching every day since.

It has truly been an awesome experience and I can't wait to start over next year. I have only been on the blog a few times but have enjoyed the WHOLE EXPERIENCE! Thanks to all of you for the joy that you all have shared about your love for the EAGLE!

Bless you all on the blog and at NCTC and thank you,

Sheri

Adding alil more: Being on the internet is just akind of fantasty, words on the screen, but when your on for along time you develope a sense of the honesty in words and feeling that seem to come from typing. That is what is real here for me, No jealousy, no harsh words, heck i cant remember a matter of even a difference in opinions. BELEIVE ME when i say its very rare indeed on this medium. So as i type the last words of these things going thru my mind, i truely think like the Musketeer's always said " ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL" something like that..lol

MEMA JO---Thank you---now I understand why I didn't feel like communicating with anyone on Monday---Really thought I wasn't well---"no more Spunky"---Think how LUCKY we are to have had this experience----I started watching when there were only 2 eggs---without Steven and the all the people at NCTC it wouldn't have been possible-----hope NCTC understands what an impact this has had on our lives----and that doesn't include the many wonderful friendships we have made----we have laughed, rejoiced, shed a tear and have had a "BALL"---AND IT ISN'T OVER YET---

Glo,
I used to play canasta when I was a teenager, down at my Mom's beach house. We didn't have TV, so we would play cards, games or read in the evenings.

Nilla,
I called Sharon today and told her I met you! Her comment was the same - "Sure is a small world" - she said to give her and Jamie a call.

Mits ,
Would you mind forwarding me that email from Lisa at Blackwater? ( pccompton@yahoo.com ) I tried to put a bug in her ear about allowing comments on her web logs.

Jim,
Enjoy your vacation! Any time off, no matter even if you stay at home is good for the soul!

Norma,
I'll try to find that cat puzzle for you!

Jo,
I think we are all feeling a bit down in the dumps...I think we all expected "notice" as to when the cam would go down...hard to deal with it all of a sudden.

I wish everyone could have been at the nest on Sunday...really helps to have those visions of eaglets soaring over your head.

Wow- A lot of comments to read-Wva Gal Vicki-I don't mind at all-the pic is something I created this morning at your request.Feel free to use it!About all the cam comments-I too have been frustrated at the cam outages, but understand that this is the first year and the site has come a long way just since the beginning of this season. The cam at Blackwater had many problems when they first started,it's a learning experience.I thank "the Steves" and everyone else at NCTC for their dedication to this project and for encouraging and tolerating our fierce devotion to these birds.Seeing them soar so close in person is something I never thought I would witness, and won't forget. I look forward to seeing them again. And I'm glad for all the new friends I've met here and in person, this blog is a great community of eagle lovers from all walks of life, with few disagreemnts between them. That is a great accomplishment. Thanks Steve for keeping the blog up,we'll need it to plan our next ROAD TRIP!!!

the food wasn't expensive & if we had gotten there before 7:00 p.m.----it would have been cheaper (ho)----MAIN THING----the food was delicious----would highly recommend it----my daughter suggested it to us--(I THINK THE CLARION OWES ME BIG BUCK FOR THIS COMMERICAL)

I am here for the duration, Vicky-wv gal. I was just expressing my feelings at this time. I can accept that our Eagle season is closing - but knowing another one is coming - well that's enough reason to get all hyped-up again! I think Hugo has got me down. I'll get over that too knowing that the little fellow brought many many people from all over the world together.

A lonely eagle flies the winds
Majestic... soaring...gliding wings
A single screech sounds from the sky
Come fly with me... come here and fly

My spirit floats to be a part
I feel the beating of its heart
My soul, one with these bird's of NCTC
Now knows the meaning to fly free

I feel the winds caress my soul
And soar the streams without a goal
My being trembles of delight
A treasure I received with each passing day that went by.

The Eagle's flight of soaring high
The gift of what it means to fly, soar so high in the sky the way it was ment to be "FREE' American Bald Eagle soaring in the land of the FREE...

W.Va Gal I'm not at all mad about the mug

I too was disappointed at the size of the words
Which I stated on here and fixed immediately

but yes was too late for myself and a few others who had already ordered. I haven't changed the size of the pictures though because to do that with what we have (I don't have access to Todd's) anyways I didn't know which one of the three to cut out, and making any of the little one's bigger is going to blur them. So I have left well enough alone for the pictures from the still cam for now.

Like you though I do love my mug I enjoy just looking at the pictures and remembering the eaglets and the people I shared time with on here over many a cup of "whatever".

Like the CAM the mugs was a learning experience AND when the other items become available The pictures I am sure will be much bigger and clearer. I have No idea what if anything they will do with wording.

My mug definitely helps my sense of down in the dumps now though, as things are quickly being taken away here as far as access to even talking about our eaglets. What can we say except,

We loved what we shared, we miss them LOTS and wish them well many splendid and majestic years of soaring wherever life takes them. I hope its IL. LOL

It is so good to hear from people that haven't commented alot. Hearing and feeling their love of the eagles/eaglets; is awesome.
Even knowing that even when I myself (won't speak for anyone else) got excited and crazy typing in action for action what they were doing for those out there that couldn't see is great.
I myself am praying for what answers and funds NCTC need, or which people whereever need to get aboard the boat for what "they" want to do for next season with the cams.

paula eagleholic said...

I think the next season on this blog is going to be AWESOME . We have already gotten thru the hard part, and that is getting to know each other!

I'm sure next nesting season will see many more group trips to the tree, with more people.

I am so grateful to know each and every person on this blog. Everyone here has made me laugh or cry or taught me something new. I am looking forward to meeting many new people here next season, or inbetween, too.

I applaud the crew at NCTC for this undertaking, I am sure it has been a learning experience for them too. They have done a fantastic job! Where would you be and what would you be doing, and what would you have done without the cam and blog, with its good times and bad. I know my last 5 months couldn't have been better.

We have all laughed, cried, celebrated, and yes commiserated together. I wouldn't have traded this experience for anything.

I'm going to have a problem when trying to sleep tonight lol.
I look at my "mug" don't want to use it. Have it here by my computer. Been drinking 20oz glass water 3 of them and then 2 - 20oz unsweetened teas. Each time I lift my glass to my "mug" and say here's to you guys.
Where oh where can I get a depends quit lol

glo said...

Nilla Yes it is kind of coming from some hearts tonight but for me anyway .

I really don't know anyone else except for the people right here, who would even begin to understand what has happened here over the past few months

AND

What makes this particular event even more awesome and miraculous is "They way beat the odds!!!!" We watched Liberty and Belle care for and successfully fledge 3 eaglets.

Hopefully they will be back next season,,, I would be amazed if they have 3 more in their nest though. I think we have witnessed a once in a lifetime thing here.

Okay, here goes! On March 14 at 6:56 a.m. I received an email from my friend Ozzie. It said:
There is a lot of activity here at the nest. I have been observing for days now and constantly for the last day and there is a definite change of behavior. The eggs are due to hatch anytime in the next 24 hours. This is way to coooool. Its awesome to be able to live and experience real Life and live in REALITY! Little did I know, this email would change my life. I just watched the pics then (they changed every 5 seconds). When I found the blog, I did a lot of lurking but had a fear about getting on here and sounding stupid (boy did that change LMAO). I was absolutely clueless about eagles. I had always admired them. We had picked out corner pieces for my daddy's casket 3 1/2 years earlier that eagles and flags on them. For Christmas I would buy ornaments with eagles and flags in my Daddy's memory. Little did I know . . . Anyway, I would watch until I was blind trying to catch a sight of the new hatchlings. Would watch the parents trade out sitting on the eggs. I remember asking Ozzie where did the phrase "free as a bird" come from because these parents had no free moments taking care of these eggs and then the babies. I remember when they changed it to 30 second refresh (I like instant gratification), I didn't watch it for a few days but something drew me back. Then we got the exciting news that we were going to live feed. Now that is instant gratification at its best. Glo was talking about me blogging the first time about Spidey. Scared me to death when I first saw him. He just appeared out of no where. I have developed what I feel are some of the best friendships ever in my life with some of you, all because we shared the common bond of watching 3 miraculous eaglets not only hatch but thrive, fledge and come back time and time again. I don't know when I have ever had the excitement in my heart as when I was watching Spunky fledge!! I could probably compare it to Andrew's first steps! This has been such a blessing for me in my life and will forever have GRATITUDE in my heart to John, who was the brainchild behind this endeavor. I am sure when he started thinking about this, he never dreamed he would take part in creating some of the greatest friendships ever, some of the best memories ever and a whole new understanding of Mother Nature, at least on my part. From this grew my love for Tai Shan, the cutest panda baby ever born, watching little Hugo grow and be so beautiful (I ain't going there), watching the ospreys (never even knew what one looked like before), ugly owl babies. I am just so amazed at how much I have learned on this journey.

To all you lurkers out there, come on in, sit a spell, kick your shoes off! Ya'll come back now, ya hear? Becoming a part of this blog made it so much more interesting. I asked what I thought were some really dumb questions along the way and that is how I learned. I am going to hang out here as long as you all do, so don't go nowhere. I need you all in my life!

MAY GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS JOURNEY - ESPECIALLY MY SPECIAL FRIENDS ON THIS BLOG (you know who you are!) BUT ALSO TO NCTC.

You know, I was just thinking, I don't know that I would be any less sad if we had been warned that the camera was going down. I don't think I ever would have been ready for it. Nothing happens by mistake in God's world. Everything happens for a reason. Don't always know what that reason is, but there is a reason. Still praying for acceptance. It will come.

While I was at my sister's house this evening, I went walking into her kitchen and what would be sitting on the stove, dirty, but a mug with eagles on it. I screamed! I asked how in God's name they could have that and not already have given it to me!! I walked out with it. It is beautiful. They love me!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Since I appear to be by myself on here - again - I am going to bed now. Sweat eagle dreams everybody.

I am going to find a dreamcatcher with an eagle in it. You know that would be beautiful! Good night all! I will probably check back in a few minutes. I have a hard time staying away from here!

paula eagleholic said...

You know Sharon, that is hilarious. One of the reasons I started looking at the cam is because my son has always been interested in eagles. He has eagle pictures, clocks, knives, pocketwatch, figures, money, and on and on. Ok, so I show him the site....he's not really interested! He has his first "real love". Who the heck cares about eagles!

I'm hooked!

Go figure!

Norma,
Tell Lisa the "commode" thing came from Glo -- it seems she was familiar with my town and it was well known for "toilet races!" aka Commode racing. So since there was already a Vicky (WV) it was a way to tell us apart thus came the thought of Commode Vicky!

P.S. Lisa seemed like a really sweet daughter! She loves her mother!

Wow! I'm totally speechless, and that is a rare thing for me. My 1st and only experience with a cam was Tai-Shan. My sister sent me the address when he was 12 hours old and the rest is history. We have followed his every move and got the joy of seeing him this past January. I've also spun around the world on Earthcam .com, but in the middle of March my sister-in-law from Braddock Heights, Maryland e-mailed me the article re:the eagles, thought I would like watching them. I don't know how long I lurked around, didn't want to become hooked. Well, when I first got in I used ANONYMOUS, because I never could get on that damn blogger ID, anyhow I chose the name MITS (MADE IN THE SHADE) an old nickname my hubby gave me 32 yrs ago. And I do believe, Sharon encouraged me to come on, TU, Sharon. I really felt welcome. I had heard about and read many other forums who were nasty to each other, not here. I've just recently divorced myself from 2 people in my life, who I thought were my friends (too Long Of a story). And being with all of you has help that hurt. Anyhow thanks for taking me along on this wonderful journey to Eagleland. Thank You NCTC, looking forward to next year. I love you all!!To Belle and Liberty,Spunky, Big Boy an MS/MR Inbetween.
