Good Sunday Morning in Eagleland. Lots of Sunday post on the other thread.
Shirley who is "Flash"?
Yes Paula I do believe mowing is going to start. Mom went with me looking for a mower. After she looked at my lawn. She said (I consider her at 83 May going to be 84 yrs old. An expert on mowing since she stills mows her own lawn. She has tried different mowers) well anyhow she said there is NO WAY YOU ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO PUSH THAT. It is too uneven! So mower is in box in house. Which I'll read directions and put together and take to shed.
Good and Blessed Palm Sunday everyone. Holy Week, lots of time to reflect on the spiritual side of life and how we as individuals relate to it. Watching our eagles has confirmed for many of us the awesome beauty wonder and power of all of creation. Spring reminds us of the gift of new life and weather reminds us to not even take that for granted.
Dana, Flash is my daughter Kathryn's basset hound. She has two basset hounds, Luna and Flash. Flash came from a different breeder, and he doesn't look as basset-y as Luna, who came from show dog champions, but he is a basset. You can see his pictures on my blog. He is a sweetie, but more rambunctious than Luna.
On mowers, I have to have a key start. I don't do well with the pull-type. Also like the self-propelled. Best of all, I like someone else to do the mowing. I may have to invest in a riding mower someday!
Good morning Eaglelanders! Talk about a late breakfast - I just had one! It's true for sure that the 'grass cutting' season has begun! Saw so many out in their yards in my travels yesterday. I only have 1 dandelion - at this time that is. More to come I'm sure. I'm like Margy - I love yellow. Speaking of daffadils-- I knew if I had picked some along the highway and gotten caught that there was probably a steep fine. However, I had to refrain from taking even one from our church yard because hubby said it would have been a cardinal sin! So what to do but wait!
Paula, after the tech cleaned up the netbook, and freed up space, I don't want to put anything new on it! Once the trees leaf out, it's not too bad being in the office on the PC----leaves block out the glare in the living room alot then, so I can see TV while at desk.
Shirley, I'm like you---cannot pull a string-cord to start anything. And the cost difference between electric ignition and regualr electric mower was too great for what little use the push-mower would get....so I bought electric---and then still couldn't use it where I needed to; bank was too steep for me.
Too bad Dana didn't take me up on my sale! It probably would have saved her at least $100!
I wasn't sure if the owl lovers had found this page yet...lots of good videos. They also changed their FB page, you need to become a fan of the owl page.
Hedgie that is why Mom thought I needed the one with the bigger wheels in back. Which should help with the uneven ground. See they had a garden back in the back previous owner. So is sure isn't flat. Mom said I never would have made it with a push mower. This one is guaranteed to start on first pull-a Toro.
I have been away from puter visiting and having lunch which was brought in by Jennifer from Paneras.
Have a good 1st day of New Job, T-Bird
Paula, enjoy your daffodils. They smell of Spring's freshness, don't they? Lucky you! My yard only has yellow tulips which will probably bloom next week.
Jim, I'm very happy also that we all agreed on our new little eaglet's name of PALMER!
MNBound Momma owl's eggs could hatch late next week. I try to watch around 8:40pm when she leave the nest for about 7-10 minutes to see if the eggs are still there - Hopefully soon I will see 2 little white fuzz balls! I've never watched them in a nest before. The Momma Owl I used to watch was on a buildings ledge and the little owls had to grow somewhat to be able to hop up on the edge. Going to be interesting to watch the nest.
Dana I bought a keystart lawnmower about 3 years ago at Sears. Have to charge it 24 hours first time of season. Then just add gas and start with a key. It is so much easier on my back and shoulders. Money very well invested. Otherwise I was going to have to hire someone to mow my grass. So it has paid for itself already.
The lady at the sewing machine repair shop told me about an owl that nested on a window sill? She said the business set up a cam to watch the progression. It sounded like it was a couple years ago or so.
If the MN owls took over a Bald Eagles nest, it seems as though owls might find what they can to lay their eggs. Guess it's a good topic to study up on.
I can see the clouds of darkness creeping into the valley - I only hope that the weather forecast for the end of this week holds true. Sunny Sunny!
Usually don't want grass mowed before Easter - How else can you hide those eggs successfully!
I pick up all the Easter candies Wed from Alexis' school fund raiser. Peanut butter filled chocolate frogs! Chocolate ballerinas, trucks, pet shops and fire stations! WOWSIE ! I need some sugar free jelly beans..
BEagle - sounds like the same Momma owl cam I had watched. Sadly Momma owl was found below the building one season - we lost her. There weren't eggs/babies at the time.
So MN Bound has taken her place for me. Xcel GHO could lay a second clutch - Lost the first clutch of 3 eggs earlier. Nothing yet.
Open House at NCTC - Always brought a huge GHO for show - her name was Momma. Their eyes just hypnotize me.
Thelma, sounds like the new job might be not quite as depressing as dealing with long-term care situations. Good for you!! Hope you got a raise, too!!! Are you still in the same location, with people you know?
BEagle, go to the photo albums on the momster yahoo site. Look for Open House 2008 and there are pictures of Paula and Sharon in front of a wing span chart!
Judie - speaking of deets and flowers...I planted some pansies last fall down at Mom's and the deets ate them up! They are coming back up tho! We used to kid about the deer looking in Mom's family room window...they would literally stand outside the window and look in. Her house is on a dead end street, with acres of protected parkland at the end. When I was cleaning out the flower beds yesterday, I found deer prints right up by the windows. I think they are still looking in the windows for the old lady who used to be sitting there on the couch.
REDDING — The first of three bald eagle eggs in a nest at the Turtle Bay Exploration Park has hatched, and the fledgling has been dubbed Peace. Caltrans spokeswoman Denise Yergenson reported the egg hatched at 7:22 p.m. Thursday in the nest, which is monitored by a daylight webcam that can be viewed at www.turtlebay.org/eaglecam.
The camera was a requirement placed on Caltrans for environmental approval of a nearby improvement project on Highway 44. The camera was to make sure the nesting eagles were not disturbed by the construction.
The other two eggs are expected to hatch over the weekend.
The young eagle's name was picked through a contest involving Redding schoolchildren. Students proposed 474 names, the top 15 were picked and voted upon. The other two eaglets' names will be released when they're born. The adult eagles have also been named — Liberty and Patriot.
Tom, Kathryn, Hunter, and Luna showed up to get Flash. As they were leaving, Rus showed up. He was in town visiting a school friend, so he stopped by here. He decided to take a nap. Maybe we will go out to dinner later, or maybe eat here. I'm inclined to go out. Plenty of food here, but I would rather not clean up late on a Sunday when I have to go to work. Would rather visit with my sons.
I have had this new laptop for 2 months...never set up the printer/scanner...finally did today...love it! Can't wait to have time to scan old pictures...
Jack is getting ready to leave and I am heading back to Laurel with the boys.
Will take my laptop. Joey is still in the hospital. Doctor said he would be back this afternoon. Joey has been sitting up in a recliner and was more comfortable.
Hi again. I'm waiting for the PA falcon to move so I can see how many eggs are there now. There were 3 yesterday and brooding is in full force now.
I also have our eagle cam up waiting to see Palmer. That fish about 7 o'clock should be petrified, or putrified, by now. I haven't seen it moved since it was delivered.
T-bird, best wishes on the new job. Prayers to.
I'll ask for prayers for me that the pain doctor appointment tomorrow will be a success. It's only a consultation, but I hope it's the answer to my prayer. I spent hours completing the forms they mailed me. Geez, they want m y life story and I'm luck if I can remember yesterday!
Finally got my kitties to the vets for their annual check-ups and they're fine except Bandit, the male, is overweight. He's twice the size of his sister. He's also lazy, but a great BIG cat.
Here comes the switch or food to PA, gotta watch .... later
Mass in Berkeley Springs was very nice...reading of the Passion nicely done, I forgot maybe I could have worn red....but I wore something yellow by instinct...
got me three palm fronds, one is above the computer desk
lady at church was telling me about some eagle sightings in Morgan County, and about an annual raptor program which is done at Cacapon State Park for the children
Love the naming of the eaglets at Caltrans, Paula, and thanks for the additional info also
had a nice quick visit with my grandson afterwards, his mother called him while I was there...I had never seen a child give his mother a hug over the phone before today ♥
Just wanted to let everyone know that we've been having a few technical problems with the camera today. We are working on it. Noah is fine. The camera runs on solar power, and the battery is getting drained at night.
Paula, thank you for all the information. Also, loved the deet story about your Mom's place. We have squirrels that sit outside looking in until I take seeds/peanuts out. They make me feel so guilty.
Raindrops our nest. Looks like rain will arrive soon here.
Really like the eagle names at Caltran.
Lolly, glad Joey is sitting up. I think that's the step before being released to civilization.
Shirley, hope you get to go out tonight. Deets up in the trees? Hmmmmm.
Oh, btw, we have a fox and a raccoon that seem to have some territorial issues at night. Fox screams and screams. I don't know if the fox is threatening or fearful or what. First time for this. Wouldn't think a fox would be afraid of a raccoon.
Can't get the hack tower for Noah. Was there yesterday.
Okay, nice dinner tonight. Cornish hen, wildrice, veggies. Made an apple pie today. Last hurray until after exams.
Hey Shirley - was just looking at son's GF pics of her trip to Europe. She visited Shakespeare's Globe. What a gorgeous theatre! Have you shown any pics to your students?
Oh, Judie, raccoons are terribly fierce. And they have nails like knives!!! Even the deet are afraid of them!
Wow, eggs and chicks popping out all over! So neat. Congrats to all nests!
Paula, as many deer as I have, I've never seen hoof prints....even where there aren't leaves. Think so many do too much trampling. Did you take pics of the prints?
We have been getting rain here for about an hour. Radar shows some heavy rain about to hit here and at the nest. Looks like Palmer's getting a meal before the deluge.
Lolly, usually the criteria for release after abdominal surgery is AT LEAST passing gas, but preferably having a movement! Hope Joey feels lots better soon.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day and hopeful that you'll stay dry.
I hope the nest isn't going to get the 3 - 4 inches of rain that the DC area is.
Good Sunday Morning in Eagleland.
Lots of Sunday post on the other thread.

Good morning!
Little one at TH is having a fish meal at the moment.
Little itty bitty bites. Cute.
Our still cam shows in our nest plenty of fish. Only choose the fresh one and toss over the side the old. lol
Thanks for the call over, Mits
I said on other thread...
Belle up with a big wing stretch, then flapped her wings in the nest, then took off to the left...now some calling...Palmer alone in the nest.

Hey, where's our weather report...hmmm?
Geese flying over...
Not watching TH this morning, thanks for the report!
Itty bitty poop shoot!
Eagle is off the egg cup and Palmer is showing to all the world to see...such a cutie!
He is wiggling around!
Belle just came back
Whole family there and I thionk a new fresh fish.
Belle is going to brood...Lib took off.
One just flew out of nest and Palmer is peeking. Wiggle Wiggle down to keep Palmer warm.
No, no new fish brought in, then one in the middle has been there...
You bet....Palmer is very photogenic and very, very cute.
Watching for poop shoot!!!
Good Palm Sunday to all.
Dreary and chilly here. Sure hope the long-range forecast for Easter holds.
I have totally given up on our cam on my netbook.
It's a little difficult trying to keep up two web cams. Maybe I need to add more room to computer.
The wind is loud at both so my computer sounds like a thunderstorm.
Did you try firefox on your netbook, Hedgie? Maybe it doesn't have enough memory?
Yea, sound louder at TH today than yesterday evening...their wind sounds like ours!
Hey Mits, Paula, Dana, Beagle, hedgie -
Sorry I missed calling everyone over, I haven't done that in ages! Just clicked on and the Sunday thread was up.
Happy Palm Sunday to Belle, Lib and Palmer, too.
BEagle I love your avatar.
How do you guys take pics from the cams?
Good and Blessed Palm Sunday everyone. Holy Week, lots of time to reflect on the spiritual side of life and how we as individuals relate to it. Watching our eagles has confirmed for many of us the awesome beauty wonder and power of all of creation. Thank you Eagleicious.
Morning, Lori!
You can use the print screen feature on your computer, then paste the image into your paint program...or you can take pics from the still cam.
Or you can use a special capture program that records video and can take still pics.
If you have windows 7, they have a cool feature called the snipping tool, that will take pics from the live feed.
Well spoken words Glo.
So chilly out there today. Wind is gusting, birds are soaring. Just saw a juvenile bald eagle fly over the yard.
Have a good day everybody :)
Hi all! Thanks for the call-over, Mits. Good to see you again.
Awesome, Megan, what a nice treat!
Yeah, of course, hubby spotted it first, he's my eagle eyes. Once I grabbed binoculars you could see it clearly.
Morning Megan...
Thanks for the info Paula - maybe I'll try that to get a more eagle like avatar - though I love my bullies!
WOW. Glad you asked THAT question Lori. Thanks Paula. I copied your instructions onto a "sticky note."
I always think of Paula as the Eagle Professor and everything to do with the site. You're amazing Paula!
Hello Lori:) And all the rest of ya!
Off to get food...

Morning Jim -
Food sounds good, like Megan said. I'm off for late breakfast and some work around here!
Blessing to everyone.
Fixing a late breakfast here too...yum
Glo thanks those words were perfect.
Meganyou are going to have an Eagle nest close by you yet lol
Paula I think before Easter I will be trying out this new mower.
I too hope the weather is good for Easter.
Dana, Flash is my daughter Kathryn's basset hound. She has two basset hounds, Luna and Flash. Flash came from a different breeder, and he doesn't look as basset-y as Luna, who came from show dog champions, but he is a basset. You can see his pictures on my blog. I have a pretty big yard.
Looks like Liberty must have found another good fishing hole.
Look at all those fish !!
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Pretty good haul, isn't it Jim. Probably smells pretty fishy in the eagle nest.
Shirley who is the dog in the picture with you name on here?
Nice fresh fish just brought in for Palmer.
Lib just arrived with another fish! Back to the back it goes!
Poop shoot! Palmer on his face! ready to eat!
I think that's Luna as Shirley's avatar....
Palmer sitting up really well for brunch!
Just got a good shot of feeding time!!
Palmer is quite the chatterbox...
Lib back! with fluff!
Liberty just flew in again. While Belle is feeding Palmer. Maybe he is going to take the "old" fish out of nest.
Looks like Lib went up into the tree on the left...Palmer nap time now...
Picture on my Lair!!
I guess he'll get rid of that fish when Belle tells him to!
Good morning, everyone.
Hoping for a lovely day, rain or shine, for all the eagle momsters and dadsters.
I got up to get breakfast going and missed the poop shoot! Shoot.
Is there a good time to check for the poop shoots? Like before or after Palmer eats?
Look how blue that sky at bWO looks this morning.

Good morning Eaglelanders!
Talk about a late breakfast - I just had one! It's true for sure that the
'grass cutting' season has begun! Saw
so many out in their yards in my travels yesterday.
Lori - I love the bulldog pic! I can tell at a glance it is you on the blog.
And I miss seeing Chloe!
Paula, after the tech cleaned up the netbook, and freed up space, I don't want to put anything new on it! Once the trees leaf out, it's not too bad being in the office on the PC----leaves block out the glare in the living room alot then, so I can see TV while at desk.
Yes, that is Luna on my avatar, Dana.
Thanks for the pic, Lynn.
Like I said "that is one hungry frog!"
I wasn't sure if the owl lovers had found this page yet...lots of good videos. They also changed their FB page, you need to become a fan of the owl page.
http://www.mnbound.com/viewer-videos/
Hedgie that is why Mom thought I needed the one with the bigger wheels in back. Which should help with the uneven ground. See they had a garden back in the back previous owner. So is sure isn't flat. Mom said I never would have made it with a push mower. This one is guaranteed to start on first pull-a Toro.
Good morning my fine eagle momsters and dadsters.
Their cord is not near the platform of the engine. It is at the top of the handle. Only trying it will see if not back you go.
BEagle - poop shoots I have seen so far are before feeding...and sometimes in the middle of feeding.
I'll work on some videos today...got 2 tiny poop shoots, missed the big one :)
Okay, so I was talking to myself on the other blog. !
The ones with the cord near the top are easier to start...
Sharon, and did you answer back as well :)
Mema Jo, it is still morning for me too. I can't believe I slept until 11:30.
I didn't get up until around 11. It was great!
I hadn't yet. T-Bird saved me.
As Sharon says she guesses we needed it-she slept late too. : )
Everyone pray for me tomorrow. I start a new job. : )
Bunch of lazy bums, LOL
Wow Tbird, doing the same thing elsewhere?
Good luck!
Jo, no daffydils in your yard? I picked some yesterday, they are right here in front of me.
Nice picture, Lynn. Frog is still hungry!
Oh, goody. My son showed me how to use the "snipping" tool and how to use the Printscreen feature!
What a snap. Now to help catch a poop shoot! Heyheyheyhey.
Paula: That owl is very pretty and the nest setting is awesome.
Just finished watching The Blind Side. Good movie!!! Wonder if the guy is still with the Ravens??? Mits, Ceil??
Was drafted last year......
What a beautiful sight on the nest!
Palmer sure is big and healthy... eats good too. I'm very glad we named him/her Palmer.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Ah, a poop shoot but quicker than I could snap a shot. : )
Thelma...tell us about your new job! Congratulations!!
I just love the "crack me ups". Paula says, "Bunch of lazy bums".
Then Paula (oh I can't stop laughing ty) tells Mema Jo:
"Jo, no daffydils in your yard? I picked some yesterday, they are right here in front of me."
Thanks so much I needed those laughs.
Have to run an errand
bb
Hedgie, yes, he's still with the Ravens.
Thanks, T-bird!
Great BEagle! Yes, they are quick!
Lynn, the Blindside is a great movie!
Well, enjoy your Palm Sunday.
I've got to go for now.

Thelma, yes, do tell us about your new job. How exciting!
There's over 700 viewer at the TH nest.
Is there any way to see the # of viewers for Lib and Belle?
The live MN owl cam...it's a little difficult to see what's going on there. The videos are a major help.
Tired eyes is me.
Rain just starting. Gotta get the trash out! Flood alert just came through......hmmmmm.
I will still be a medical social worker but I will be with the acute care population instead of the rehab and long-term care folks.

Thelma, sounds like the new job might be not quite as depressing as dealing with long-term care situations. Good for you!! Hope you got a raise, too!!! Are you still in the same location, with people you know?
Just a couple of tiny sprinkles here..
Beautiful wing stretch...just love that
Hedgie: Found the sitemeter. There's a lot of eagle watchers out there.
MemaJo: My apologies for bringing up a sore spot about the owl.
Will check on Momma often.
How big are the wing spans? I read somewhere that they can be seven foot across.
Wonder if Bob made his trek to Blackwater, and how he's getting along....??? Calling Bob!!
Hi all. Quick visit.
Thelma, congratulations on the new job.
Congratulations to WV! Very exciting to get to the final four. I wish them success.
No daffodils here. Deets ate them up.
Thanks, JO on the BWE naming contest!
Hi Judie.
I have a few daffodils, but Flash dragged the lead over them a bit.
Haven't seen any deets in my yard, although we did see them in the trees in the back until they built houses back there.
Yep, BEagle....wing spans are that big!
Guess I should say among the trees, have not seen any tree-climbing deets.
BEagle, go to the photo albums on the momster yahoo site. Look for Open House 2008 and there are pictures of Paula and Sharon in front of a wing span chart!
The sitemeter is just for the blog, not the cam
Judie - speaking of deets and flowers...I planted some pansies last fall down at Mom's and the deets ate them up! They are coming back up tho! We used to kid about the deer looking in Mom's family room window...they would literally stand outside the window and look in. I think they are still looking in the windows for the old lady who used to be sitting there on the couch.
Beagle - I have learned that owls like to take over other birds nests.
Think the osprey at BWO are still partying upon their return...eating a fish there now.
Lib in with a stick!
Time for a switch? Nope, Lib left.
Belle munching on fish in the middles of the nest.
OUt goes Belle to the left as well.
Lib in from the left.
Lib just standing there..I think Palmer wants covered up!
Lib finally down in the bowl, tossed something outta there, now digging.
Now pulling grasses in over Palmer
Palmer reallly talking to Dad!
Nice sunshine down at BW
Belle back with a small chunky stick
Did Belle just bring in a bird?
I can't tell a chunky stick from a blue jay!!! Laughing too hard right now.
Nice big pieces for Palmer
Look at those crops on the BWe chicks, look like baseballs.
BEagle, we are laughing with you!

Interesting info, Paula. Now if they can require environmental oversight there, why can't it be done at St. Elisabeth when they start that project??
Hi everyone! Palm Sunday blessings.
Just checking in and trying to catch up. Will post more later.

Hedgie did you go to the link to see the pics of the doublewide?
The rain still hasn't come over the mountain to this valley.
Hope PA Falcon gets their 5 egg clutch
Busy day at our nest, I can tell from what I read....
Best wishes Diann, hope there is some relief in sight
Lolly
you must feel kind of like a ping pong ball
I know your family is comforted that you can do what you and do it so well !
Paula
enjoyed the deet tales about your mother's house, and the lawn doctor report from yesterday, what a team of three!
Jo
I might need to make a Road Trip to your place, I saw what you posted about all the CHOCOLATE !
Love the naming of the eaglets at Caltrans, Paula, and thanks for the additional info also
Yay Harrisburg, five eggs !
Forgot to say Hooray for the PA Falcons!
Best wishes T-Bird on the new job, hope it is exactly what you want !
It's definitely raining on THIS side of the mountain Jo :(
Bless you Belle!
had a nice quick visit with my grandson afterwards, his mother called him while I was there...I had never seen a child give his mother a hug over the phone before today ♥
can't talk now, just did it to myself...
:(

can't count either,
I see Jo said they are HOPING for a five-egg clutch, only FOUR there now

Good luck at your appt, Diann

Oregon has 2 eggs!
2nd Caltrans eaglet is named Shasta
From CRC
Just wanted to let everyone know that we've been having a few technical problems with the camera today. We are working on it. Noah is fine. The camera runs on solar power, and the battery is getting drained at night.
Back before dinner.
Well, thank you Paula for answering my CRC question before I could even type it, lol.
Also like Shasta.
BBL
Thelma hope you enjoy your new job.
I'm going for a nap.
Yes, Dana, saw Ron's photos. Wish it would open as a slide show!
Good luck tomorrow, Diann. Hope you get some good word on options available.
Margy, glad you had a nice service and visit with James.
Way to go, Harrisburg!
There's some serious tenting going on at our nest...going to be a long cold wet night for the Family
Wow, look at Belle, full out wings, looks like a plane landing. I can hear Palmer under there..."Mom, why can't I come out?"
Put a picture of Belle tenting on my blog.
Belle up for a shake off and some quick bites for Palmer
We have been getting rain here for about an hour. Radar shows some heavy rain about to hit here and at the nest. Looks like Palmer's getting a meal before the deluge.
Palmer is going to eat - rain or not!
Palmer is really growing.... The live feed color contrast is great.. Very clear..
Looks as though Palmer has the hang of it now - Go For The Beak--Go For The Beak!
It has been raining here in the valley also from about an hour. My heat in a room or two is being turned on.
Palmer was getting some wushi for that meal :)
Oh yeah, crank up the heat. It has been a chilly damp day.
Lynn- didn't even think of it. Forgot to take a pic of the new grass that was growing as well...son did some reseeding.
Go for the beak! Love it! Yes, he's getting more accurate for sure.
My heat is on too. Dug up the last of the pot roast in the freezer for dinner...and biscuits...yum.
Hate to see the eagles tent and protect like that for hours on end...but the sound of rain at the nest is soothing.
Lolly, usually the criteria for release after abdominal surgery is AT LEAST passing gas, but preferably having a movement! Hope Joey feels lots better soon.
I'm going to make like Palmer and head under some covers for a nap,
(heated blanket here too)
start work tour at midnight...
Love Jim's statement much earlier about Palmer...
Take Care, and Prayers, all...
see you one time before midnight..
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
Duke did it 78 to Baylor's 71
Duke vs. WVU
Rain is absolutely torrential here.
Sure glad I don't need to go anywhere.
Bob made it to BW.....his pics are up!
Bob's BW shots
Judie and Paula---your dinners sound yummy. I had a stuffed pork chop and a yam and I'M stuffed!
That sounds good too, Lynn. Bob's shots are great, lots of osprey action.
T-Bird- Did WVU beat Duke during the regular season?
S P L I T FOR THE DAY
We have a little thunder with our rain now...coming down in buckets!
