Dana and bev., DON'T respond that to that YaHoo query!!
Lynne, you are doing great, gal!!! Keep it up! And don't let Daisy wear you out. Guess what?? Daughter just applied for FT Vet reception job; and she went to HS with him, so keeping fingers crossed that that will make her a shoe-in!!
So sad about little Layla. RIP. sweet angel.
I think Tai looks like he's lost weight.
This house is so hot, I can hardly stand it..........88 degrees in sunroom! Sure too early to turn on AC, but it's tempting!
Jo, cool feature on Ed's puter, BUT....surely he has nothing to hide! Is little James really spending the night with you???
Dana, Carolyn and Jenn caught a bug from sick people who visited over weekend. Jenn fine now, Carolyn still very weak and shaky.
Tai Shan moved out of quarantine today and is now in an exhibit known as Villa #5 (he'll move to Villa #1 after it's been renovated and updated). Many members of the Chinese media attended the celebration to mark the occasion, and about 30 volunteers participated, including three from the United States and one from Malaysia. The volunteers also planted a small patch of bamboo together.
See a video of Tai exploring his new home.
Tai Shan seems to have adapted to his new home in Bifengxia quite well and has grown from 192 pounds a month ago to 198 pounds now.
Villa #5 is in the Baozishan area of the base, where another ten pandas between the ages of two and four are living. The outdoor area has a playground and many trees. A video camera has been installed and is undergoing testing. The public will soon be able to see Tai Shan online again!
Thanks for the heads up about Yahoo. I jsut cannot seem to get live feed and I am really frustrated.
The Maine 2 cam is a refresh on top. sometimes it goes off. they cannot get the live streaming on line for this year so I guess they are showing videos. disappointing when there is an egg there. Maine 1 is looking promising also. lots of nest visits , mating and nestorations
Hi, Everyone, Sharon, so very sad to hear about Layla. You and family are in my prayers, and in my heart! ((HUGS))
Lynn, sorry to hear your family is feeling so poorly! Prayers for their swift recovery!
Lynne, that's fantastic! Good for you! Keep up the good work!
Glo, have been praying regarding today's surgery, and hoping all is well!
Mighty glad I was able to get the live cam easily today. Hope the problem from last night is now solved.
Hubby just got home from work, so must run soon. Have an earlier class on Tues./Thurs., so must do dinner earlier! BTW, thank you, DANA, for the prayers regarding tomorrow's exam! Much appreciated! Hope Little Man is settling down a bit! He really is a character, isn't he?!
Oh, boy--time change again this weekend!?! Why don't they just pick a time and stick with it~~makes me want to move to Arizona, where they DON'T change the time!
Well, gotta run now. Hope to be back later, after school. May be getting home pretty late, though. Have to get all my transcription done tonight, because there will be TWO tests on Thursday night. Sigh...it just never seems to slow down! OK, gotta go--will BBL tonite. :o]
Lynn, that's great about Carolyn and I hope she gets the job. I hope she has a strong stomach! Working at a vet can be extremely difficult. I have an interview next Tues. for a recpt job at a local vet but it's only about 28 hours a week. And the lady said it is more of an "entry level" position. Which, loosely translated, don't expect to get paid for all of the years of experience you have. Oh well, I'll go anyway.
OK Ana had her surgery at noon. My son called about hour and a half later to say it went well and she was in recovery. I hopefully will hear from him this evening on the free cell phone call time. :-).
Norma and Hedgie Got my WV magazine today. Thank you both so very much for co-ordinating all of this for all of us.
Sharon I too have been following Layla. I am glad her pain has ended and as a parent we all know that for them an indescribably heartache to watch has also ended. WHY hmmm I don't think the human side of us has any answers to that question at all. Very painful and very sad. I don't think those of us who are Christian really understand WHY the pain and suffering on the cross for our sin either. Gods ways are not our ways. Its a fallen world. Thats all I know with all my heart. The rest has to wait for eternity. I sometimes think I have these lists of questions and then I think will I even think to ask when its all said and done. Prayers for all concerned with the loss of this presciously young little girl.
Contrgulations Lynne2 you can quit smoking I know you can do it and lost 5 lbs wow great!
Hi Bev I put mine in spam.
Yes it is sad about the baby Sharon. I feel for her family too. Sometimes it is hard but you need to finally believe God knows what is best the the one illing. I know when Brian and Jenna lost their baby. It hurt terrible. They keep trying but Emma hasn't had a sister or brother yet. She the the Angle Emma looking after her family.
Hi Hedgie - P-nut butter sundae---- oh I envy you!!! It was Joseph who will spend the night with Kristen.. She takes one of the 3 at separate times for the overnight!
Hedgie & Others - 3 shows in a row Whoo Hoo it is Tues night!
Lynne - You never can forsee what an entry level position can turn into. You going to accept the 28 hrs if you like the vet and his staff and the facility?
I just got some bad news about a friend...her baby (1 yr) has been sick with pneumonia for about 3 wks. They looked harder and found a tumor the size of a racketball. I am so worried. The family could really use prayers.
Dana that really is upsetting news. I am so thankful they found the tumor - is it near the lung? Prayers will certainly be offered up for the baby and the family.
phyrfly, I'm so sorry about your friends little one, so awful. Prayers for them all. Such awful news :(
Jo, I can't really afford to only work a 28 hour week, especially if it's going to be a minimum wage situation. I'd be worse off than unemployment and we can't afford that. I'll have to see what they have to offer, and see what hours they have to see if I could get another something going for a few hours a week to make up the difference.
Glo, glad Ana's surgery went well!
Dana, smoking (started in High School) is the WORST thing I have ever done to myself. I have quit before, once for FIVE YEARS. I hope this time it works!
Lynne, way to go on the weight loss and the attempt to quit smoking. Will keep you in prayers. I lost 40 pounds last year and now trying to loose a little more. Never have smoked so can not relate to that, but I am totally against it for health reasons. (Not to mention the smell!) So keep up the good work!
Just spoke breifly with Both Tom and Ana. He was walking her out in the hall. She says she already feels so much better. Well I am sure of that. There is a chance they will let her go home after the Dr comes in tomorrow. If not she will go home on Thurs for sure as long as she does as well as it sounds like she is doing. They will have a 5 hour drive, and she will have some happy dogs to deal with then but they will manage I am sure. They both sounded so releived which surely sounded awfully good to me too. Thanks for the prayers.
Dana2 So sad to hear about another baby dealing with a tumor. Will certainly add that little one and her family to my prayers.
Lolly, don't know if it's true but I've heard it said MANY times that quitting HEROIN is easier that quitting smoking. You did so good with the weight loss last year, and Bev is doing so well now (with her Wii Fit) so I am inspired! Ideally, I'd like to lose 80lbs by Christmas. Of course, I speak to the Lord each night, and I keep telling him that if he just gives me back that killer body I had at 30 by morning, I'll NEVER LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN!!! If you listen closely at around 10pm, you should be able to hear HIM laughing!!!
I'm going to head up to a nice hot shower and then bed. Prayers for all tonight, and extra for Dana2's little friend.
Probably won't get a chance to check nests in the morning....have to walk a dog early and at 9 my friend Rachel and her beagle, Allie, are coming for a play date with Daisy! Hope NBG waits til I get back if they start hatching tomorrow!
Jo, gotta chuckle over Ducky! And now it's coming out that maybe he wasn't quite as happy about mama as he let on!!!
Dana2, so sorry about the little darling girl. Prayers going up.
Bev., hope your hubby's surgery isn't too serious. Please remind us of the day so the prayer chain will be active.
Glo, glad Ana is doing so well. Yep, sometimes it is such immediately relief that folks don't mind the surgical pain.
Lynne, here in WV, U/E will make up the difference between part-time and full-time for a certain time period. Carolyn says that, based on what she's getting from U/E, job must pay $11/hr in order for it to be cost-effective. I said: "take it regardless if offered, and then go for something part-time again like you used to do" because it does have benefits, which U/E doesn't!
Stopping in to say good night. I'm getting a headache, so I think it is time to close my eyes and let my brain rest.
I did finish reading some of the assigned work for this week. On the list of Web 2.0 terms, the first word is "blog." Yep, I know that one. The second word is "folksonomy." That's a new one on me. So much to learn.
Just got a phone call from Rus. It seems he has been having ocular migraines. Just figured out what it is. I had several awhile back. He says it's hereditary. That makes sense.
So sorry to hear of the death of the baby Layla. God bless the family. So sad.
Good night, Shirley. Hope our brain wakes refreshed! I ended up with an ocular migraine as I was going to bed last night. About the 4th one in a week. Strange how they run in spurts. Regualr migraines are hereditary, so guess it makes sense. Mom, sis and youngest all get them, but I'm the only one with the ocular. At least there's no pain or nausea with them!
Have been watching and listening to Hope and Lily tonight. Haven't done that for a while. Have gotten several good looks at her. Lily left the den today and they have a video of Hope alone in the den. So cute!
Yes, Lynn..Good Wife was good! What do you suppose is going to happen with Zack and his GF. Is she going to be pregnant before she's 17? Ah, another story line. She can have the baby and Peter can baby sit;) Tee Hee
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SLEEP WELL LOTS OF PRAYERS TONIGHT FOR ALL
HP on the Pa Falcon site, know that JO was letting out some Whoo Hoos for that !
Forgive me for not addressing all the concerns and needs here, just please know that I have read them, and I care, and I share my prayers with all of yours for those needs
Grandson James fell asleep before the History Channel show which had a few short clips of my brother... but I saw it, and it was fun... John is with the University of Maryland, Frostburg University campus, but now he is in Colorado studying the Spring "Bowsers" as he calls them (prairie dogs)
Hi, Everyone! Just getting home from school. Quite a long evening! Got all my homework turned in~~phew! Now must concentrate on studying more for the test tomorrow night, and the TWO tests on Thursday night! Please start praying, you guys! Many thanks in advance!
Glo, glad to hear that Ana is doing SO well! Hope Tom is feeling better, too!
Lynn, hope Carolyn gets the job!
Lynne, Hope your interview goes well; wishing you all the best! Hope it works out for you. Know what you mean about part-time hours and minimum wage VS Unemployment! Sure hope it could turn into something more for you, though!
Dana2, prayers for your friend's baby! Prayers for the whole family! Hate it when a young one like that is so ill! Lord Jesus, HELP!!!!!!!
Congrats to Tai for getting out of quarantine--that's great he's gaining weight!
OMIGOSH-- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LORETTA and SUNNY!!! Hope it's a fantastic day for both of you!
Hi, Margy! Good to see you! Don't know HOW you keep up with your crazy work schedule! You go, girl!
Well, I'm beginning to fade. Think I'm gonna go watch some TV and relax a bit. The night light is on, the porch light is automatic, and the eye scanner is working. Prayers being said for oh, so many needs! Sleep tight, everybody, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless! Love all you guys! :o]

Good morning everyone. Norma and Hedgie Thanks again for helping me to get a copy of the WV Magazine. I love it. I read the Eagle article yesterday and will sit down to enjoy the rest of the magazine today.
I am hoping Ana had a good night and that she will get to go home today. I will hear more about that later after the Dr is in.
I haven't been able to get the live feed for days now either. Just the picture with the circle going round and round and round. Maybe today. I do keep trying and hit the stop pause stop pause refresh try again and walk away approach. I have heard the animals sing a couple of time LOL.
Plumber is richer and I am poorer but at least now I have a new sump pump and piping for the rains and snow melt that is of course coming now. Also have a clean washing machine drain so I can wash more than just a small load once every couple of days again argh.
Off to coffee and dog treats soon. Dex hasn't wanted his treats the last couple of mornings but other than that he seems fine. He eats his supper. Maybe he wants some warmth and sunshne and a stroll.
pixCON site:---Several TURKEYS & at least 3--4 TOMS!----
When I came home yesterday afternoon---I saw a TURKEY on the woods edge (at my house) calling!--It's that time of the year!----So hard to see--they certainly blend in with the background!!
How come I'm not seeing any video play? You need to have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed. Click here to get it: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If you have the latest Adobe Flash Player, it's possible that it's corrupted. This is easily fixed by uninstalling it and then reinstalling it.
Another thing to try is using a different browser. There's Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3, Safari 4, Opera 10, etc. Note that Internet Explorer 6 is not a supported browser, although it might work in some cases.
3/9/2010 :: Eggs Before Easter The first egg of the season should arrive within two weeks time. Last year the first egg arrived on the 21st of March. The adult female has been within two to three days on this egg-laying schedule for the past ten years. For the past four years the female has laid a full clutch of five eggs. Egg production is directly related to nutrition, the availability of food and the ability of a healthy breeding pair to attain and metabolize it. The happy irony is that this is an ongoing tribute to Rachel Carson and her work- most notably the 1962 book Silent Spring. Peregrine falcons have made their home on the fifteenth floor ledge of the Rachel Carson State Office Building for the past 11 years.
Just stopping in to say a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LORETTA aka Loweeda etc. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SUNNY Having been hearing lots of geese going over the house last night and this morning. Spring is almost here. Do I hear a hooray
Update March 2010 Eagles continue to use and rebuild the nest however no eggs have been laid as of early March. End of February into April are prime egg laying time for bald eagles in the Pacific Northwest. Eggs should be on their way!
Good late morning. Slept in and slow getting started! Retirement is good! Watched the History Channel show with Margy's bro in it--very thought-provoking! Interesting update notes. Thanks, Mits. I heard a huge number of honkers late last night, heading north. Margy suggested that it might be Tundra Swans. Listened to their sounds on Cornell sight, and think she is probably right!

eagle at Maine #1 nest
Hey all! Guess what it is 73 here! We have the house open!
This will certainly help with evaporation. I want my swamp to dry up!
Lewis and Clark are sooo cute. Can hardly wait til Palmer is here. Sure wish he had a brother! I was so looking forward to more than one.
They are passed out on the edge of the nest bowl....we have 2 weeks or less for little Palmer!
Hello everyone,
Sharon, so very sorry about Layla. Sympathy to all.
Well wishes for all who are not feeling well today and prayers for quick recovery.
I am a little confused. When I go to Maine 2 it says the cam is down. They have videos to watch. Is that what you get as well?
Hi again. Just checking in. I've been all around the web looking at cams of eagles, falcons, osprey and owls. I'm overwhelmed.
Trying to keep an eye on our Harrisburg falcons. Won't be long before egg laying.
NBG will soon have little eaglets. Saw mom or dad looking at eggs frequently. Pipping maybe?
hope to be bbl. God bless everyone.
love yas ♥♥♥

Ah, yes, Jo...Tuesday...good TV night!!
Spent some time with GG...she's doing very well, no more falls. She said she didn't want to wear a helmet:)
Dana...trying to send you and email, but it won't go through. I can't get any emails to even myself! I will keep trying:)
Glo...so happy to hear Ana is doing so well, that's great news

Yes, I deleted the previous comment. Daggone typos!

See you tomorrow. Good night.

BBL
Glo, glad to hear Ana is feeling better.
Hitting the hay, been working on stuff around the house tonight.
Hugs to all♥
Good night, Shirley.
Jo, The Good Wife was pretty good! As usual.
Yes, Lynn I enjoyed it. Hope all turns out well with the son!
Well, I am headed down the hallway
Another day of sunshine before the rain
Good Night and prayers for all!
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥
Have been watching and listening to Hope and Lily tonight. Haven't done that for a while. Have gotten several good looks at her. Lily left the den today and they have a video of Hope alone in the den. So cute!
Going to read a while before heading to bed.
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Yes, Lynn..Good Wife was good! What do you suppose is going to happen with Zack and his GF. Is she going to be pregnant before she's 17? Ah, another story line. She can have the baby and Peter can baby sit;) Tee Hee

Maybe he wants some warmth and sunshne and a stroll.

no hatching yet at NBG
from Help section at Outdoor Life Channel.....
Note that Internet Explorer 6 is not a supported browser, although it might work in some cases.
there is a falcon at the Delaware site Paula posted the other day
falcon also at the PA ledge
today's weather for nest....

Happy birthday Loretta and Sunny.
Much to do this morning . . . BBL.
Good morning all! Happy Birthday Loretta Happy Birthday Sunny
I just found out that there is a Dunken Donut in Clarksburg now! YEAH
update from PA Falcon cam....
3/9/2010 :: Eggs Before Easter
The first egg of the season should arrive within two weeks time.

Happy birthday Loretta and Sunny.
Wishing you both, and all others, a lovely day.
