Hatch thread 1. See video here.
I suspect the lags and problems with the live feed have to do with the tremendous amount of traffic that Outdoor Channel live feed is getting. The live feed has worked well for me all week, but the lags to me seem due to bandwidth issues from too many people.

Yippee! Steve got the message!
Thanks Steve and Sunny! Great video!
We have been having this problem for a long time, Steve, not just today. Do you have sound?
thanks, Sunny for the call over:)...Welcome little Palmer
Do ANY of you have sound?
no sound for me Wanda
Is that OPRAH narrating Life??
no Wanda, Paula wrote to OC, they said it is NCTC's problem that we don't have sound....
BTW, that is Paula's video on the blog opening page.....great video, Paula, like Ceil said nice and clear:)

amen:)
Lynn2 ... looks like this is a first for both of us. Last year I didn't start watching Hidey until end of April, early May. This is soooo exciting.
Thank you Steve and Sunny. Thank you Paula for the great video. Nice Job.
You are right Ragdoll! First for both of us! I pray all goes well...sure was a tough winter which makes this all the more special for our Royal Pair!
Please Lord, keep our Little Palmer dry and warm during the rain.
After all Lib and Belle have gone through, a little rain shouldn't bother them a bit.
I am sooo happy for Belle and Lib. Yes, they had a very rough winter. I am glad they didn't give up and had a 4th egg.
True, but oh so many other things could happen. But they are tough, for sure!
Thank You Sunny, That is reassuring. Couldn't stand losing the little one after all that's happen.
I am so certain that the Lord heard our prayers and asked Him for a miracle, that he decided to grant us that miracle! I thought of and posted this verse on old thread...I think it is worth repeating:
THE LORD HAS DONE GREAT THINGS FOR US; WHEREOF WE ARE GLAD. Psalm 126:3
oh that is right, Cold Case and the mystery, hope I can stay awake...
Don't think it's going to be a hard rain and will be in the 50s. I think Lib and Belle can handle that:)
Amen to that Wanda!
heading off to shower and bed. Looking forward to seeing Palmer in the morning! Good night and prayers for all!
Well the lags due to the bandwidth will have to be since you
can't keep a good thing away from all these wonderful Eagle Watchers. Sound has been down and it should be fixed over at NCTC by IT tomorrow we hope.
Thanks Steve for the thread and posting Paula's video - We are all sooooo overjoyed about this hatching!
Yep, Jo, Cold Case is always on in our house Sunday night! Hope it is not a rerun tonight.
We also enjoy Amazing Race...don't know how they can endure some of the things that they do!
Jo, Cold Case won't come on until about 10:45 since bball ran over!! 60 Minutes started at 7:45. Can't miss it----gotta find out who's under the tarp!!
Wanda, I do like that verse. Thank you for sharing.
One more question before I wander away...has Palmer eaten anything?
jubby and I spent a nice weekend away at the beach, condo made it thru the storms, beach has been thru alot, our dunes have tons of sand covering the grasses, but they did not breach...town was busy
My Pleasure, Deb:) I love psalms.
Good night Lynne - Hope Daisy and Brother Cat are well! Not sure of the status of the little Cocker spaniel...
Talk to you tomorrow.......
Wanda, go to my Eagle pics. First feeding!
Back in February, I had tears of sadness. Now it's tears of Joy.
Oh, another thing...Great video, Paula. Glad you were in the right place at the right time!♥
OK, Thanks Lolly♥
Yes, there have been many tears today.
Wanda, we were yelling for you. Sure missed you!
Snow has melted in the nest box at Valmont. Haven't located a daily pic of Snowflake yet.
Hatching at Ft St Vrain should be any day now.. they projected the date of
3/22 for 1st hatch of their 2 eggs.
Trying to keep an eye on the MN Bound
Momma Owl... Should be taking her break in about 20 minutes. One of these days there will be 2 little fluffy white owls in that nest!!
Link to MN Bound GHO
That is a very nice verse from the Psalms, Wanda , thank you...
glad the garden is coming along at GG's - always an uplifting experience to see little things start to sprout
LOL Lily is snoring!
Lolly...Great family picture. Thank you.
Thank you Steve for new thread and congratulations on the new addition to the NCTC campus and the wonderful world of Wildlife !
I was just so relieved when Lib finally showed up. It took too long! Sure hope to see the pantry full tomorrow.
There are little bugs crawling on the black tape at our nest.
Nope, Wanda....NOT a repeat!!! A shocker coming up from previews!!
I am a bear of Little Brain (like Pooh) and my computer has even less brain, but seeing what I have been able to see these last few years, (on cam and IN PERSON) and relying on the good old Still Cam...and learning about the NCTC Eagles and wildlife everywhere from all of you....I guess I can say...this pretty has taken care of my needs. And I thank all of you for that....
this, and all the warm friendship...I can't ask for more
♥
It's still 66° here, so there are lots of spiders and bugs out tonite.
I almost missed the Momma Owl - didn't see her fly off - I sure hope most of you used the link and now you can see the 2 beautiful eggs.. soon to be hatched I hope!
Not there now. I really did see them. What did my hubby put in my oj.
Thanks for the heads up on the time of Cold Case - I just may need to tape it and enjoy it later... Not sure. I'm up that late anyhow!
The MN Bound Owl eggs are still in view
Mema Jo....Just checked out eggs. Does anybody know when eggs are due to hatch?.
Thanks Jo, That is the first time I have seen the eggs.
I'll take time to read their blog and find a date.....
Thanks, Steve for the new thread and the link to the video.
Still catching up here!
I had a wonderful steak on the grill dinner w/ son and dil and grandsons.
She sneaked right in to the nest
So dark it just looked like a big blur
I expected to see her winging it in.
At least she did have a break
Female owls do 90% of the incubating.
Did not see the GHO return, just all of a sudden her eggs "disappeared". ☺
Hey Lolly, great pic, both shell halves were still in the nest!
When will the eggs hatch? MN Bound
Have some patience. Based on the eggs being laid somewhere around March 2-4, we're going to have to wait until the very first part of April before we're going to see fuzzy little owlets in the nest. Incubation is about 32-33 days, but usually begins with the first egg laid.
What a truly lovely day for all us grandparents. I believe Deb did have a hand and a prayer in Palmer's arrival. Thanks, Deb.
Here we go. Jack is likely headed to Wanda's again with a shiny garland to win her favors.
Lily is snoring because she is slam wore out from chasing Hope and trying to watch the NCTC cam. A bear can only do so much in one day.
Lynn, don't get dizzy going too fast with DSL. Welcome to the world of high speed!
I think Lib was gone for such a long time this afternoon because he had to go to the Sheetz store to buy cigars.
Thank you Mema Jo...more babies. Just a little different.
ROFLMBO Thanks Judie for the chuckle! Jack better not be chasing after Wanda!
Well we have had enough eggcitement for the day! And I am sure that Dr Rogers agrees that he has had a good bit too. I wonder how far he camps out from Lily's den.
Yes it has been a good day!
Sharon are you home yet?
BWE chicks no longer sleep under Mom...have you seen them spread out in the nest lately?
They were like that last nite at BWE. They sure have gotten big fast.
Belle is up
yes, was watching them tonight.
Chick check! How I love saying that!
Hornby eagles have their first egg today!
I saw them a couple of nights ago and forgot to mention it!
Well eagle friends and fellow grandparents. I had my grandson (John) for a sleepover last night. We had a lot of fun., but I am pretty tired tonight. I'm head up the stairs. Work tomorrow. So GOOD NIGHT everybody. I will fall asleep with a smile on my face from this exciting day. Thank you and praise you God!!
Eagle dreams to all. Prayers for all needs. Good Night.
yeah, nothing like a sleepover, Ragdoll... I had one with my grandson last night here..
that's what we have in OUR nest tonight !
Paula sounds like a great evening, you sure pack a punch into your week-end, dandelions and all !
Signing off for the night here, got lots to take care of here at this roost...
Prayers for all our continued needs...in all our Eagle corners
God Bless Us, Every One xo ☺ ♥
Wanda, Palmer was offered food. I suppose he/she ate.
Going to watch a bit of t.v. before sleep. So, turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, when you come in, you are in for a huge surprise -- Palmer has arrived. Please set our security so no one can get in.
Nite all.
First feeding is on my blog, and I think Lolly got a feeding with both parents present.
I got the cracked egg!! It is on my blog!!
For my class--
Blasting through my assignment. Have the beginnings of a rough draft. Probably too much information rather than too little. That is okay. Easier to prune than to try to find more stuff.
Can't work much longer. This senior citizen does not do all-nighters anymore, or even late-nighers.
It is better that Lily was chasing Hope rather than chasing Dr. Rogers.
Amen Shirley! That's what I was thinking. He said there would be an update but I haven't checked on FB for it yet.
Cold Case coming up in a couple of minutes! Jo, Mits, Wanda....wake up!!
Sunny - I would hope that you could make a Sycamore Nest Tree Quilt for me to see and maybe purchase from you....
((hugs)) Jo
Jo, L.R. hasn't updated on FB yet.
Oops----not time for Cold Case yet---I'm rushing it by an hour---duh!!!! Sorry!
Good night, and it really is a good night, isn't it? I can say now that I was really worried that we would not have an eaglet this year. I guess Belle just knew which one of those eggs was the one to hold onto.
I have made the rounds on a couple of forums...everyone is in agreement...we have a miracle chick!
And they love why we named the chick Palmer ♥
Remember, there were two eggs for some time. I guess the others are under all of that fluff.
Haven't had any trouble with netbook since I stopped trying to watch live cam on it....boo! Will have to stick to PC for our cam, at least.
Belle is not settling down. Palmer keeping her awake?
Of course the BWE eaglets have grown fast. We all would too, with all the food that has been brought in.
Haven't seen or heard anything from Anne Marie here or on FB or mail.....guess she is still on her trip!! Hope she's having fun.
THe BWE chicks sure look funny---splayed out in total relaxation. Probably still cooling off!
Here's a nice slideshow from Karen and Keith...I went to Conowingo with them. They were at NBG today.
NBG today
Brian posted this on facebook:
Natalie is doing much better today. She will be coming home tomorrow !! (Monday) They have got her blood sugar under control and the pain levels are dropping each day. It has been a rough week for her and I pray it goes smoother from now on. Thank you again for all of your prayers & support during this difficult time.
I need to have the link for Hornby
Lost it somewhere...........
Wow! Paula, those are fantastic pictures. Wonderful slide show!
Hornby
Egg in view at Hornby!
Lolly - thanks so much for the update from Brian about Natalie coming home.
Prayers for them!
Thanks Lolly... Wonder if it is warm there or they just don't want to sit on the egg until there is another one?
I appreciate the fact that we can bring concerns here and know that we can get prayers and support.
Paula - their slideshow from NBG was beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I never told you all about Brian and Natalie. Brian is my cousin's grandson from Michigan. Never knew him until he was married and in the service stationed here. Did not even know his name. Two nights before he was leaving here to go home, he called. We hit it off and Jack and I fell in love with them. They are in their early 40's now. Have three children. Over the years we have met them in Colorado to go camping. Now, looking for work, they moved to San Antonio. He is a plumber, Natalie a stay at home mom. Though in Michigan she kept children in a day care at her home.
They are a great couple. Active in their church.
Here's a video from PeggyJean at the Maine forum
Miracle Chick
So glad to hear that Natalie is doing so much better! The antibiotics can also cause sugar spikes, if I remember correctly.
As I watch Belle rest with her wings around her new little one I think of all she went through to bring this little one into this world. I am sure she will be up in the night some but there has to be such a sense of peace that that part of the season is over and her egg is now a precious little fluff ball. I hope Lib has something special planned for breakfast. I think they all will be ready for a good meal in the morning.
My sugar spiked when I had the broken leg.. Any trauma to your body I think can cause it. They kept it under control and that is what I was hoping would happen for Natalie.
ME Forum posted beautiful pics of our Belle & Lib & Palmer!
Glo - I think there is that peace up there in the nest tonight! ((hugs))
Don't know if I am going to watch Cold Case or tape it. The yawns are coming on!
Hello everyone! Decided to check in today as I remembered you all were due to have a hatch. CONGRATULATIONS!! You all CRACK me up! Just like proud parents with all your comments! I think with all the strains and challenges (40" snow falls) this nest has seen this season, this chick represents somewhat of a miracle.
I might also add how touching it that you chose the name Palmer for this miracle chick. What a very fine way for you all to dedicate and remember a very dear friend of yours! I think that would make Deb very happy!
Once again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Hey TJ! Thought of you today and wondered if you knew of our new little Palmer. So glad you checked in. We are so very excited. Truly a miracle that we got that 4th egg and now Palmer.
Thanks TJ
I'm glad you came in to check on us
It is a very special day and glad that you know about it!
Cold Case is on
Hi TJ
Yes, we are aglow this evening...
it was Mits that came up with the idea shortly after Deb's death, that the first eaglet would be named after Deb...well, first and only eaglet it turns out to be
Deb was as special as one could be, and this little eaglet will be the same...
xo
Before I got to bed, I would just like to say Thank You to Boris Spidey for being kind enough to NOT get in the way of our view tonight, with either himself or his building material!
Good evening.
I am so excited to see this little one come into the world.
I was here during the snow storms and the laying of the 4th egg. I never gave up ,even when others had doubts.
Due to my husband having a serious surgery ,I have not been able to pop in here but I have been watching.Do I still see a 2nd egg.
wouldn't that just tickle your fancy
Adj what a fitting name.
Remain positive everyone
god bless this little one and also Bod bless anyone here who needs a few extra prayers
I will answer my own question, it was the shell.
I can hardly wait to view tomorrow.
there is a lot of dry fluff in that nest so this one will be well protected,
Is it ever going to get loving care. I remember Skye at Sidney.
Bev, glad you popped in...hope that your hubby feels better soon!
TJ - so nice to hear from you as well! Hope all the kids are over their colds! Have your eagles hatched yet, if not, when do you think they will?
Lolly, so glad Natalie is getting better.
Bev., good to see you & hope hubby is healing.
I thought of someone we haven't heard from for awhile---Indiana Dave. Maybe someone contacted him. I have no info on him.
What a spectacular & blessed day!I just noticed after watching Paula's video again that Belle was jumping for joy!☺
Watched the new series, Live. Had to switch channels for a couple nasties!
Installed Firefox---get the Outdoor Eaglecam page w/all the NCTC info--NO Camera at all!Duh! Was able to write to Support--don't know if they got it.Tomorrow is another day.
Well, just wanted to report that I am home, safe and sound. Wow, now I need a weekend to rest!
Lowreeda, you also have to install adobe flash player for your firefox! I know you already have it, but you need to do it while you have firefox open.
Good Show - I thought we were going to lose Nick completely.....
Back the hallway I go....
Good Night All & Prayers for everyone
Thankfulness for this day!
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
P.S. Lovely slideshow from your Conowingo friends, Paula.
Hmmm...did you notice sound on the YouTube show from Maine? It was ocean noises, right????
Lynne - kinda sounded like wind to me...
What an eventful day...I am beat!
Night all
Hugs to all ♥
Checked in on Baby Palmer and Belle is sound asleep. Rest well, Mom, you deserve.
GOOD NIGHT FELLOW GRANDPARENTS:)
GET PLENTY OF RESTFULL SLEEP
PRAYERS FOR ALL AND A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR LORD FOR OUR LITTLE MIRACLE.
Nite all! Fell asleep while sitting here. Last I knew it was over 40 minutes ago. Nice nap. lol Heading to the bedroom.
Wow what a day. Palmer and Hope plum wore me out!
Sweet dreams!
Baby Palmer and Belle sleeping and only light rain at the nest so far this morning.
Thunderstorms expected later today so Belle could get dumped on with a lot of rain.
I'm so glad that little Palmer has arrived ... surprised that he/she is on time though.
I saw Paula's video, and it looked like she was signaling Liberty to go for fish and chips to celebrate.
What did he bring for her first meal after the new one arrived?? He's usually pretty dramatic.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Good beautiful Monday morning all!
It's so exciting to be able to see a baby in the nest again. Reminds me of all the wonderful days with Hidey.
But perhaps this only eagle child, Palmer, will be a little more submissive with his parents.
Belle is much more active this morning, stepping back and forth on the egg cup (making it deeper?) and trying to get comfy with Palmer under there instead of just an egg.
She's wide awake at the moment.
She must have gotten comfy, She is now sleeping with her head under her wing.
Good morning!!!
Jim, he brought a wiggly little fish. It took awhile for him to arrive.
Hi Stronghunter - looks like it's raining at the next now.
Nice to have another Belle, Lib and Palmer family fan awake!
Lynne and Ragdoll--I think you said it was your first hatching. Mine too. I started watching when Hidey was hopping around the nest ready to think about fledging, and first posted when he/she left the nest for the first time.
Nope, Mits, no sound here.
Hi Lori, I am getting ready to go to work. I will see you later. Gotta hit the road!
It's my first hatching. Found Hidey when he was 3 days old and loved every second of watching him grow.
Palmer makes it so exciting again!
No messages from Andy yet. Hope all is well with her.
Drive safely Stronghunter!
58° here and some light showers passing over right now.
Belle is awake and looking around.
OH - she's off the nest!
Yep, she changed positions.
That was fast!
Looked like she shoved a bit of something in his mouth then she was sitting on the nest again.
Hi Megan!
Hi Lori:)
Belle was repositioning again, caught a glimpse of Palmer.
Good Monday Morning everyone.
Welcome to our world, Palmer. And thanks to Paula for the video. I have such trouble with the site and maybe just a quirk, but my computer freezes many times after trying to get to our nest. So glad for a very happy outcome.
Here comes some more rain, Belle is tenting.
Margy, saw your post around 11 last night, nice of you to remember that...thanks;)

ANDEAN BEAR CUBS
Andean bears (also known as spectacled bears). They are beautiful bears.
Eagle just arrived in nest.
ANd NBG is having breakfast.
Eagle on eaglet flew out- switch.
osprey at BWO
Hey Mits and Megan:
What a ding-dong I am. I kept thinking Belle was just taking a quick break. I forgot they switch and take turns on the nest.
Good morning everyone. Good morning Palmer. Have a warm snuggly dry day with your Mama and Papa.
good to see you here, Lori;)
At my desk at work now. Much to do this morning.
I see Belle is patiently protecting the precious little one.
BBL.
Good Morning all!
Shirley and Lori...you're first hatching as well! We sure are lucky!
Anyone heard from Norma? Maybe I didn't read back far enough but last I saw she was lost after a new thread a day or two ago?
Saw little Palmer a little while ago, what a great way to start the morning!
Norma is around she has been watching B-Ball...
Isn't it just glorious to have an eaglet in the nest again?
Thank you Palmer!
I bet Deb is so proud.
haha Norma has March madness...
I haven't seen Lib bring in the breakfast yet. Did I miss it?
Good Monday Morning in Eagleland Hedgie-Lynn, Paula, Wanda, Lolly, Lori, Jim, Shirley, Megan, Mits, grannyblt, Glo, and those coming in.
I sure hope STEVE gets the message that OUTDOOR CHANNEL SAID THE SOUND HAS TO BE FIXED ON STEVE'S END.
Good morning all peeps!
Good to see so many early birds....I'm definitely not one.
Norma was on once last evening, and welcomed Palmer.
Rain is on a hiatus here for the time being, but sky is getting very heavy again.
Those cubs are so cute, Mits!!!
I know, Lynn they sure are, can't wait till they go on view, don't know when that we be.
still 1 egg at PA falcon cam
Here is last night info about Lily and Hope. Click on the link about the boat tour and follow links in it for some fantastic Alaskan pics. Some cool eagle shots, too!!
Lily&Hope
feeding at NBG
Good morning everybody. Haven't seen Palmer yet this morning but am certainly watching.
Here comes the rain....pouring!!
Paula, when you come on both falcons are at the Wilmington nest, the male brought the female a food offering, their pics show that there has been mating:)
Mom has been feeding the chicks at NBG, just dragged a big fish over, but at least 2 of them are so stuffed they are refusing the food
Did You Know/Hear.....there was a 4.+ quake in Cuba Sat. near Guantanamo? And a 200 yr.-silent volcano erupted yesterday in Iceland----google it for some neat pics!
I did not know that:)
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning, Palmer, Belle, and Lib.
Bad timing. Only see Palmer being protected so guess he/she is doing okay.
Have a wonderful day.
Good Eagleland Morning Sharon.
I was really getting down when I couldn't get our nest up. Now I'm partly happy and the 2nd part would be SOUND. Oh I know you all as well as me want to hear that chick Palmer.
Oooppsss Judie came in there while I was typing. Good Eagleland morning Judie (:
The New River Gorge nest that Paula posted the link about actaully made the newspaper, announcing the hatchings of its 2 eggs. Hey, Steve....issue a press release to The Journal for our hatch!
Good Morning Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s
hope it's a good day for everyone
Missed the early morning feedings, look forward to those wiggly fish arrivals
See that falcon at Wilmington, Mits, it's a beauty!
and, you are welcome ♥
been trying to update my sister and brothers about the hatch, sending link to Paula's YouTube to some of them...already sent them the nest links awhile back
need to head to work for a few hours and will hustle back soon as possible to watch the nest and see what everyone is up to
TTFN xoxo
