brought this over from old thread, and THANKS STEVE...stay warm and dry!
wow Norma, so sad to have lost your mom at such a young age. I lost mine in my 40s as well, but not because she died...and that's a whole other sad ugly story.
UGH, can't get a picture on our cam. Maybe the wind?
Maybe Brother Cat got BLOWN onto the roof this morning!! LOL!
Flood Watch in effect through Sunday evening... Rest of Today Rain. Rain may be heavy at times. Highs around 50. East winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
Tonight Rain. Lows in the mid 40s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent. amen;)
Rest of Today Cloudy with periods of rain early this morning... then partly sunny with scattered showers with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.
Tonight Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms early in the evening...then scattered showers in the late evening and overnight. Lows in the mid 40s. Southwest winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent. amen.
What you said Norma on the other thread made sense of course Norma... sorry for the sad Mom tales, I think many of us have them, but hope that a lot still have Happy Mom tales....
Wanda, glad that GG enjoyed the meal!! BTW--Judie teaches at George Washington Univ. Yep, lots of George's!!!
SIL Charlie spent most of night helping a friend move important stuff either up or out of his river-side home. It is highly stilted, but guess he has to worry about the possibility of collapse if the flooding is severe. ARGH!
can't understand why they say Watch and not Warning for this area Lynn
local rag letter to editor thank you to people regarding the snowstorm....from mayor of Hedgesville..mentions lots of folks but left out one very important entity:
Yes, Margy, thankful that I still have my mom. Lost my dad when I was 20---he was only 50. Much too young. Miss him still , very much. Lynne, sorry about your situation.
Well, the bog is slowly drying, but still standing water. You can not walk in that area of the yard. No rain for a week predicted, but as soon as it dries more rain will come. Going to be a wet spring. It is what it is.
Wanda, Mother was not in a nursing home. She could not live alone and only my brother lived close. It was "Retirement" living, like living in an apartment house but with meals furnished. No one was allowed in the halls in pj's or robes. Everyone was dressed, no nurses, etc. It was beautiful and Mother knew many of the residents.
Larry visited her every evening. Sandy's mother lived there as well and so the two of them visited there every evening. Mother still drove when she first lived there. They had parking for residents. On the ground floor some had patios.
Wow, I am really behind...didn't know about the third chicklet at BWE. Yes, Margy, the Tuscarora is halfway up to the Townsend house. Don't know how far up it is at the bottom of GG's property. Will check that out if it isn't raining too hard.
Sorry about the Mom stories. Sad whenever we loose a parent. No matter what age we are :(
Prayers for Normas friend and Lynn-Hedgies SIL friend plus other that are near river or streams that will be overflowing. Be careful everyone driving out there.
Norma hope you saw my post a few posts up...Sharon did not apply for anything, she had some interview time with Reese from NBG - and it was recorded, but she did not make the "cut "
Oh, Lolly, I know those retirement villiages and assisted living places are wonderful. We had elderly friends who lived in Florida and both (husband & wife) had to go into assisted living. We visited them a few times and it was beautiful. Had a huge lobby with many comfy couches and chairs, a grand piano, plenty reading materials, TVs, VCRs and many tapes to choose from. Beautiful dining room with chandeliers, etc. Rooms were cozy and pleasant.
This is where Mother lived. Wish it had more pictures. When we visited Mother I also was privileged to get reacquainted with my second grade teacher. She was thrilled to introduce me to her friends. She was still volunteering at a hospital, the shuttle took her, and she taught an early morning excercise class there at Brookridge. (She was legally blind)
Mothers apt was on the third floor, right above the main entrance. Those two big windows, right in front were her windows. She had binoculars right by her chair, right by those windows.
the hatch was overnight Paula at Norfolk...we didn't see it on the first feeding because the parents could not hear us hollering MOVE OUT OF THE WAY !!
WOW it is really pouring here now. I was kind of hoping to hear some thunder! Nothing terrifies me or fascinates me more that severe weather season in spring and summer.
Poor eagles, must be tough keeping the babies warm in this mess.
Jack is doing just fine. He does very well taking it easy. He usually has several books going at a time. If he is not reading he is working crossword puzzles or on the computer. On the computer, he visits newpapers all over the country and reads the editorials. NEVER, I say NEVER, play Trivial Pursuit with him, unless you are playing teams and then be on his team. lol
Thanks MARGY!---I didn't understand!----This is the 1st am that I have spent any time on the blog!!---learn so much from you folks!!----I believe all my grand-kids understand that 'GRANNY' loves NATURE!!---& (THAT'S A GOOD THING)!---just wish we lived closer---maybe sometime soon we will again!!
Uh Oh, I'm a day late and a dollar short. Paula has already been shopping. I would love to see all the pretty little gifts that Ajay opens...maybe Paula will take photos and share them with us:)
MARGY, yes, I did see where I misunderstood you about the 3 eagles:) Be careful when you go out, there is a lot of flooding.
Wow Mema Jo went to the otter cam and all green vertical strip with red in between. Checked out my DC panda cam same things. Wonder what happened to them on my computer. Never before!!! grrr
I have to tell you all this. You know Ed was called the "Candy Man" not just becuse he liked candy. Due also to giving sandwich bags to grandkids and nieces and nephews when they came around. This morning I washed out 7 yes I did say 7 plastic containers with lids. That this man had candy in. That doesn't include the one machine he puts certain candies in that kids could turn the knob and get candy. Nor the plastic bowl that is on this thing that you roll it and the candy comes out (it has a lid you have to take off), nor did that include to little wedding boxes of mints, nor did that include the glass bowl with lid that had "black jelly beans in it", and last of all those 7 I washed did not include what he had in his dresser where the two doors open up. So I think Kara his nephews one child did give him the right name "The Candy Man" lol He gave away more than he ate.
Good morning. OK so its afternoon both there and here. Busy morning here. Not watching the nest but I guess on the live feed none of you are watching either. I worry about all that water and Belle with her 4th and final egg and this time she has been sitting for a few weeks. Argh!!!. Must think positive but I'm sorry it sort of stinks when the only lost eggs I know of this year inspite of the weather are 3 at NCTC. Makes me so sad for our pair and especially Belle. I must switch gears to happier thoughts. Made a good size picture order today. Some for me , some for gifts and a couple that sold. Thats always a happy thought. Stay dry or think spring and flowers.
Live feed is up/running for me. I just had to be patient for the timer to start. Circles were continuing but our eagle was moving and suddenly timer started (15 sec or more) and circles (Ringos) disappeared
Be careful, Margy. Too early for Bluebells and Spring Beauties, I believe...at least, mine aren't blooming yet. Only have crocus blooming. I can barely see them for the leaves. It must have snowed leaves because that is what is left after the snow melted! I'll have to wait til the leaves dry out so I can blow them out of the flower beds. The rake would break off any tender foliage or buds. Might have all those leaves til June, the way the weather has been. And to think, we have April showers to go yet! YIKES!
I just found something interesting. At the bottom right hand side of the screen for this blog on Firefox, there is a little red circle with an exclamation point on it. I checked it out and it said "Warning: Contains unauthenticated content." I guess that's the mixed content being displayed, but when I clicked on it, it told me that I have visited this website 1,212 times.
When we came home last night, the Spring Peepers were sounding off at full force. The Capt. said "what on eath is that noise?". I had to remind him that Spring is here and so are our peepers:)
I live on the edge of a designated wetland for the Chesapeake Bay. A very small section of it is on the corner of my backyard. It is surely living up to its name right now. But, hey, I saw the sun for a few minutes. Now it has disappeared again.
Oh, this blog is so theraputic, I feel the stress leaving each time I get on here, BUT, clothes in the dryer...did I ever tell you that I hate to do laundry? The steps are a little daunting. We have a split foyer house and 2 flights of stairs. But, thank the Lord I don't have to use an old time washer and hang clothes on the line!
I have decided I really like Firefox. I can't get the nest cam to work on IE anymore. It just freezes up, so I started using Firefox, and it works very nicely. It also has a tab for most visited sites, so I use that. And, when I started using it for the blog, I found that it has spell check, another nice feature.
Shirley, we live in some kind of WATER SHED DISTRICT, but I need to slow down and read the sign to know what it is. Most people need to stop and smell the roses or coffee, I need to stop and read the sign:) LOL
..guess you didn't take my suggestion earlier Tiger ☺
copy that about the spring flowers, just hoping that the roots and bulbs that would make the flowers aren't all bye bye
last night we could hear the peepers from the live NCTC feed... Peeper-eared Mits put out the alert ! OH I saw that Made in the Shade business truck again last night!
My understanding regarding the wetland is that we are not supposed to clear it or build things in it, but some of my neighbors have put fences in it.
One lady actually put a large privacy fence right in the little stream that runs through it, damming the stream up. After a couple of us complained, the Corps of Engineers told her that she had to put wire under the fence so that the water can flow through.
The man from the corps told me that she was going to cause herself more problems than she was going to cause anyone else, but I am thankful that I'm downstream.
The stream does not drain a large area and often dries up completely. Right now, I am sure there's plenty of water, and I just might hear some spring peepers.
Shirley, that's so funny that you can get the nest cam on Firefox! Because I did for the longest time and now I can't get it to run well. I use IE for that and other cams and FF for everything else! I'm sure there must be some logical explanation, but I can't figure it out!
Steve just got home from work and had to detour about a mile down the road....flooded at the quarry there. The rains looks to be just about over here now. Wind has died down some as well.
Lynne, when I first started blogging here, I had some problems with Firefox blocking some sites I wanted to see, not sure why. I guess it had to do with pop-ups and some setting that was in place, but now it freezes if I use IE for the cam. I suppose it all has to do with settings on individual computers, but I really do not know.
I got it to work on FireFox, although there was quite a wait for the circling arrow to drop off the screen. Strangely though, it was actually working when the arrow was circling this time.
oh for Pete's sake....Jim, I have the cam up on IE and it's working, because I see the eagle moving her head, but now I have the never ending circling arrow on there! LOL!
I am drinking my 3:00 coffee and getting ready to brave the storm and go to Mass. May need to wear my boots (almost typed boats)! lol
My live feed is still running from when I first turned it on. And the Momma Owl is still in her eagles' nest. Oh how I hope she can stay and hatch those little ones. I remember that they are adorable especially when they start bobbin' around!
Lazy day......still raining. Pot of chili on the stove---smells so-o-o good. Caught up on a few small chores and some paperwork, and even had a panda nap.
Wanda, I agree. Too many Georges so I vote to send Mason out of Town on a TRAIN!
Have another load of laundry. Then dinner. I think sauteed shrimp with garlic, butter/olive oil, and red pepper flakes. Asparagus for me and Cole slaw for Darth. Sure am sorry there won't be any turnips.
Hi Jim.
Jo, maybe you should take your boots AND your boat.
Did see NBG babies being fed today. Nice sight. Also, saw Noah being fed this a.m. Have much trouble getting NCTC -- very unhappy!
Shirley, no such little red thing on here when I opened in Firefox!! Do like the spell check feature. Fewer typos that way, LOL! Can't even get the cam at all, tho'----it said I needed to download Adobe (didn't know it was browser specific) and I did, but FF isn't recognizing that it's there. Duh....
Me, too, Judie......even tho' I can't watch it for more than a minute or two when I do get it! Only one more week of that nonsense!! No turnips??? Oh, No!! Guess what? I HATE turnips!!
Haven't eaten many bites of turnip in my lifetime. My mother did not like them. The little bit I have had I don't care for them either. They're pretty tasteless. We ate turnip greens, but not the turnips.
Lynn, you will really like Verizon, I think! Regarding FF and Adobe...when I installed it there was a separate set of instructions on the page for FF users.
According to my red exclamation point, I have only been on this site 108 times. HUH?
I've figured out the right combination again.I get so frustrated when I can't join in. I love turnips, with green peas or mashed potatoes and lots of butter. I just discovered, after 35 years of marriage, so we have them often now.. With roast pork. Mmmmmm.
I keep hoping when I check the blog that someone is going to say it has stopped raining. So when is it going to stop? First we had to stop the snow and now we have to stop the rain. At least I don't expect to be reading about any drought conditions out your way.
discovered that Tom likes turnips too. Sometimes I wonder if I have any brain left at all. Btw I'm still dithering about a new computer--haven't had the nerve to commit yet. If Best Buy would guarantee that it would come with my very own computer geek I would feel better.
Oh I think everything at the shower was pink! LOL...well maybe one or 2 green and yellow.
My live feed up and running good. Feeding over at NBG.
Waiting for Michael to get home...we are going suit shopping tomorrow and dinner with John and Ajay on Monday night, Tuesday night who knows and he's outta here on Weds to go visit GF and her family, then to work Fri and Sat. Will be a short and busy spring break!
Whoo-Hoo, NORMA!!!! My Hoyas play your 'eers tonight for Big East championship!!!! Let's Go Hoyas!!! Heading to the dance, Sweet 16-bound. Sorry....love my Hoyas.
Hi, Sandy!!! You should probably delete your comment with the phone #, gal!! Sunny is at the Clarion----call and leave her a message!!! You need to write down your password, etc., so that you get back to us more often!!!! How are you and Tom? Have you gotten the porch damage fixed?
Hi all! Made the mistake of going outside. Really needed to do some cleaning inside but......It got up into the low 70's and bright sunshine. So, now here I sit with ice on my back. Man, I wish I was 20 years younger. But, I got a lot accomplished.
Hi Sandra and Sunny! Nice to have you on here today.
I have our cam up with IE, have no problems. Have spell check and no counter. lol Just as I started typing, I saw Belle raise up, shake off, and I got a peek at Egglet Palmer.
Paula, I remember a baby shower approx. 38 years ago. I received everything pink. The nursery was pink...pink carpet, pink pricilla curtains, a savings bond in a girls name, pink, pink, pink.....and then I found out I was pregnant. lol We were going to adopt a baby girl, but oh, no, I was pregnant!!!
The cam is down. Due to technical problems at Norfolk Botanical Garden. A technician will attempt to restore the feed on Sunday morning. Current status in the nest: 2 eggs have hatched, 1 is in the process of hatching by Norfolk Botanical Garden at 3/13/2010 6:42 PM
We had been waiting about 8 months for the adoption. My friends wanted to give me a shower so I thought it was about time. Needed to be ready. Then I got pregnant!
We joked that if the baby was a boy we would trade it for a girl. Elderly neighbor did not like our joking...what else can you do but laugh at the situation. And, actually, before I called the adoption agency to tell them I was pg, they called....my baby girl was here!! I went to pieces! We had to turn her down, tell them I was pg. She was born in June, Laurel was born in Dec. Can you imagine having two babies 6 months apart?!!
I might add, Paula, Laurel was a miracle. Do not know how she "happened". Jack blames the mailman. It is a family joke. Laurel will say, "yeah, the mailman was my father." lol
Yes, very happy, but VERY HARD! I told the doctor, prove that I am PG. I had no physical sign except for..... He found her heart beat! No sonograms back then!
Well, the Dr's told Ajay she had about a 10% chance of ever getting pregnant, she has fibrocystic ovaries...HA...she's been pregnant 4 times in 5 years!
I guess the warmer weather has gotten spidey going for good. What an image!
I am having cat trouble here. George is sitting on the mouse pad and making it very difficult for me to use the mouse. I have turned off the computer several times, but he just wants more food. Now he is rubbing his head on the computer.
That is great that you are getting them a dresser. We got one for Laurel and Joey when they were expecting Joseph.
Laurel's maid of honor in her wedding just had her third child. His name is Mason. Jack made a name train today. Glad he felt like working in the shop.
Hi Shirley! Is it spring break for you yet? Spring break this week for schools around here. Looking forward to Laurel and the boys being here. Laurel told Joey, "I want to go to my parents, spend the night, and do nothing." lol Think they may spend two night next week. We are going to the Museum of Science and History and going to the zoo.
The first time I saw spidey walk over the lens, I was fascinated. I had to remind myself that it wasn't a giant spider. It was just a spider on the lens.
Brother Cat's escapade reminds me of the day Susan looked out the second floor window to see George walk by. He was on the front porch roof, having gotten out a bedroom window. Susan went out on the roof and Sassafras tried to follow her. A cat on the roof is one thing. a basset hound on the roof is quite another. Susan was very busy when I looked up and saw her.
it really is very fascinating. One night I got a bunch of pictures of the spider spinning its web across the view Deb, put them onto a slideshow, it is somewhere on my blog....
Good Evening everyone sounds like a great time Paula
Sure was nice to see Sandy and Sunny checking in ☺
I seemed to have gotten live feed but also had no sound! couldn't hear the peepers, drove around the county here at darktime trying to find some peeping, no luck
There is some serious high water out here ! And every little mountain rivulet is headed straight for the creeks....amazing stuff, got lots of pictures will load them in a little while
I actually put one picture and one picture only of a spider web on one of the Momsters albums... think it was in the summertime Yeah, I try to consider Lynn too and give her notice NOT TO LOOK !!
I saw some people driving through high water that they SHOULD NOT HAVE ! they would not have gotten swept away but it was up over their tires and by rights, they should have stalled out...I had to drive the long way to every place I went to, just about, exept out near where GG lives
well shucks I can't find the slideshow, but the two sets of pics are on Magpies Roost from March 19 last year, maybe I will find that slideshow somewhere. gives you an idea of Spidey's size if you want to see that
going to load up pictures now and will be back in a little while xo

That is a beautiful Retirement Village, Lolly. I don't think we have anything that Grand near here.

Uh Oh, I'm a day late and a dollar short. Paula has already been shopping. I would love to see all the pretty little gifts that Ajay opens...maybe Paula will take photos and share them with us:)
MARGY, yes, I did see where I misunderstood you about the 3 eagles:)
Be careful when you go out, there is a lot of flooding.
I need to get dressed too...it's almost 12 noon! Have a ton of clothes to wash:(
Good Eagle Morning Paula and Mema Jo ( :
Paula have fun at the baby shower.
Again contragulations to you and Mom and Dad.
why not just put on your birthday suit and wash clothes, Wanda.... much more fun that way ☺
if my memory serves me right
I never made it outta my pj's and don't plan to until after I reclaim that hour of sleep we are going to lose tonight
get rested first then go take some pictures...want to see the creek at Swinging Bridge and all the stuff right around the corner from here
TTFN - Be Careful everyone...
Ed was a good-hearted man, for sure Dana...
BWE nest is strangely devoid of the many fish that have been there in recent days...
okay panda nap time
xo
Circles were continuing but our eagle was moving and suddenly timer started (15 sec or more) and circles (Ringos) disappeared
wow that white Eagle tail is something when it is all splayed out !
Guess any bluebells and spring beaties along the creek are going to be under water for sure :(
Wonder how the spring peepers feel about all them water too.....hope we hear them at the nest site, and I hope to hear some locally here too
"all them water, "
wonder what that means
Sounds good Glo...your photos....
wonder how our Bob Quinn is doing at Blackwater today, hope he is turning some bucks too !
his eye surgery is Monday...
headed out with camera and rain clothes...
see you all later on
xo
Be careful, Margy. Too early for Bluebells and Spring Beauties, I believe...at least, mine aren't blooming yet. Only have crocus blooming. I can barely see them for the leaves. It must have snowed leaves because that is what is left after the snow melted! I'll have to wait til the leaves dry out so I can blow them out of the flower beds. The rake would break off any tender foliage or buds. Might have all those leaves til June, the way the weather has been. And to think, we have April showers to go yet! YIKES!
Those Spring peepers are probably up on top of those Spring BEATIES to get away from all them water. MARGY;)Tee Hee!
Hi,
I just found something interesting.

WOW! How cool is that Shirley...wonder how many times all of us have visited the site. I don't have Firefox:(
GOOD MORNING, JIM...WE SURE DO LOVE OUR EAGLES!
Hi Jim! How are things in California?
Shirley, we live in some kind of WATER SHED DISTRICT, but I need to slow down and read the sign to know what it is. Most people need to stop and smell the roses or coffee, I need to stop and read the sign:) LOL
..guess you didn't take my suggestion earlier Tiger ☺
copy that about the spring flowers, just hoping that the roots and bulbs that would make the flowers aren't all bye bye
last night we could hear the peepers from the live NCTC feed...
Peeper-eared Mits put out the alert !
OH I saw that Made in the Shade business truck again last night!
well, I look silly but I hope I stay dry.
Hi Afternoon and late morning West coast folks
xo
I shall try Firefox when I come back. Maybe that will give me sound on our cam. I know I can delete it if I don't like it.
Howdy Loretta, Norma, Mits, Margie, Jo, Wanda, Paula ... Dana, haven't heard from you a lot lately, [:~D] ... Lynne and SHunter.
Glad to see you all this A.M.

Jim
I see it is raining again at the nest. Maybe it has never stopped, but I can hear it now.
Norma, I want to thank you copiously for the beautiful copy of
"WONDERFUL WEST VIRGINIA".
iT'S absolutely beautiful and full of gorgeous pictures of our eagles ... and a lot of other natural wonders.

Jim
StrongH, it's not bad here in So Cal, but kinda overcast and cool. I think it will get brighter and warmer later.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Shirley, that's so funny that you can get the nest cam on Firefox! Because I did for the longest time and now I can't get it to run well. I use IE for that and other cams and FF for everything else! I'm sure there must be some logical explanation, but I can't figure it out!
Steve just got home from work and had to detour about a mile down the road....flooded at the quarry there. The rains looks to be just about over here now. Wind has died down some as well.
I tried to get the live feed on Explorer last night, but something froze up and I had to shut down IE altogether....
I'm going to try it again now.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Lynne, when I first started blogging here, I had some problems with Firefox blocking some sites I wanted to see, not sure why. I guess it had to do with pop-ups and some setting that was in place, but now it freezes if I use IE for the cam. I suppose it all has to do with settings on individual computers, but I really do not know.
I got it to work on FireFox, although there was quite a wait for the circling arrow to drop off the screen. Strangely though, it was actually working when the arrow was circling this time.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Well finally found where we are going to eat. Going to start getting ready.
I'll check back before leaving.
sigh...sure wish I was more computer saavy!
Have fun Dana!
Poor Liberty seems to have sunk out of sight in the egg cup ... they really have the edges of it built up this time.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
oh for Pete's sake....Jim, I have the cam up on IE and it's working, because I see the eagle moving her head, but now I have the never ending circling arrow on there! LOL!
Well off to do an errand, then hit a store, and then something to eat...
Jim nice seeing you on here. Each time I see you name I think "Semper Fi" ( :
Glad for now Nov.10th is a long way off.
bbl I'll catch up on comments then
NEWSFLASH***
This just in - live from the Clarion Inn in Shepherdstown WV. It's raining....and raining....and raining.......
Oh Sunny I forgot you were to be in Shepherdstown this weekend... Did you bring your paddles?
The GHO was fluffing her feathers a bit. Before she settled down I did get to see 1 of her eggs.
Belle is tenting big time and pulling some of the fluff up around the front of herself.
Headed back the hallway for my Church clothes......
BBL
BBL
Sunny, have you been to the nest yet, or is that on tomorrow's schedule??
Shirley, no such little red thing on here when I opened in Firefox!! Do like the spell check feature. Fewer typos that way, LOL! Can't even get the cam at all, tho'----it said I needed to download Adobe (didn't know it was browser specific) and I did, but FF isn't recognizing that it's there. Duh....
Me, too, Judie......even tho' I can't watch it for more than a minute or two when I do get it! Only one more week of that nonsense!!
No turnips??? Oh, No!! Guess what? I HATE turnips!!
Shirley, NOW the red lock is there!!!
Yep, tracking me, too. Weird.
Did someone say Train?
Yes, it is a lock with a little red exclamation mark.
Haven't eaten many bites of turnip in my lifetime. My mother did not like them. The little bit I have had I don't care for them either. They're pretty tasteless. We ate turnip greens, but not the turnips.
I love turnips mashed in with potatoes!
Lynn, you will really like Verizon, I think! Regarding FF and Adobe...when I installed it there was a separate set of instructions on the page for FF users.
According to my red exclamation point, I have only been on this site 108 times. HUH?
Sunny, i didn't know you werehere. The coffee pot is on, and we're home, so do stop by. 304=876-1276
Feeding at NBG
parent is sooo patient!
discovered that Tom likes turnips too. Sometimes I wonder if I have any brain left at all. Btw I'm still dithering about a new computer--haven't had the nerve to commit yet. If Best Buy would guarantee that it would come with my very own computer geek I would feel better.
OK, have I stunned everyone into silence? Hello everyone. Wanda, I think you live in the Rocky Marsh Run District. Please stay safe everyone.
Hi Sandy!
Oh, I forgot to give Ajay a pair of scissors so John could get snipped, LOL
Dog is in my lap, gotta go feed em....
Whoo-Hoo, NORMA!!!! My Hoyas play your 'eers tonight for Big East championship!!!! Let's Go Hoyas!!! Heading to the dance, Sweet 16-bound. Sorry....love my Hoyas.
Chili was very good! Warming and filling.
Egg roll, shaking off rain, snacking on leftovers, moving fluff, then wiggle, wiggle.
Hi, Sandy!!! You should probably delete your comment with the phone #, gal!! Sunny is at the Clarion----call and leave her a message!!! You need to write down your password, etc., so that you get back to us more often!!!! How are you and Tom? Have you gotten the porch damage fixed?
Another shake off...looks like just sprinkles now...
Paula, you have me ROFL!!!! John will run if he sees you coming!
Glo, rain is supposed to continue off and on til Monday. Our water tables SHOULD be in pretty good shape this year, for sure.
Norma, game is on ESPN at 9.
Rain expected here thru Monday....then nice after that
BW cams all fixed. Bet that was a soggy eagle festival!
Oh, and forgot to mention, thankfully....Laurel was a GIRL!!!!!
Is that the peepers I hear on the cam?
NBG update
The cam is down. Due to technical problems at Norfolk Botanical Garden. A technician will attempt to restore the feed on Sunday morning. Current status in the nest: 2 eggs have hatched, 1 is in the process of hatching
by Norfolk Botanical Garden at 3/13/2010 6:42 PM
Wow! Third one is hatching??? That is fantastic! Way to go NBG!
LOL, I thought that was the case, LOlly...but you didn't know beforehand, correct?
I got a lot of cute clothes for the shower, but what they really need is a dresser, so I told Ajay to pick it out and I would buy that for them.
Oh, and yes, those are the peepers! Lots and lots of worms out as well!
Oh, gross! Spidey just made his appearance!
Paula, missed the dog comment---that's a lot of dog for your little lap!!!
Ewww there he is again!
What is spidey doing, the cam looks funny!
Lynn - he puts he front feet and front half of his body in my lap in his face in my face...time for dinner, just can't ignore that!
I know, Lolly! At least he isn't blocking the whole view!
I might add, Paula, Laurel was a miracle. Do not know how she "happened". Jack blames the mailman. It is a family joke. Laurel will say, "yeah, the mailman was my father." lol
I guess that must have been very hard Lolly...but happy at the same time.
Yuck, seen enough of spidey!
The results came back very fast when I was pregnant with twins.
That is great that you are getting them a dresser. We got one for Laurel and Joey when they were expecting Joseph.
Laurel's maid of honor in her wedding just had her third child. His name is Mason. Jack made a name train today. Glad he felt like working in the shop.
Spidey has just sat on the cam. Riding it like a horsey! I do think the cam must be slightly warm and attracts spiders.
No spring break yet. We get three days at Eastertime. One of them is considered a work at home day for teachers.
Ohh, spidey is moving. Spooky!!
Eww, more spidey...bbl, Michael is here!
Holey Moley that is a view to sign on to! Thought the ring around the view was condensation guess I was wrong....
Well, Spidey is blocking the view, and George is sitting on the mousepad. What a mess!
Oh, that was gross! But he is at least momentarily gone. Wonder what size he really is. Looks huge going across the cam. lol
Off to prepare dinner. Jack is hinting!
BBL
it really is very fascinating. One night I got a bunch of pictures of the spider spinning its web across the view
Deb, put them onto a slideshow, it is somewhere on my blog....
Good Evening everyone
sounds like a great time Paula
Sure was nice to see Sandy and Sunny checking in ☺
he is really pretty small, Boris the Spider...
I'll find the date of the slideshow...
My bad, I was wrong...Spidey is being not nice! No, Margy, no ring around the moon.....just one gross Spidey!!
I am off!
BBL
Looks like mostly legs.
I have been afraid to put any spidey pics on my blog. I figure Lynn would never look at my blog again.
I seemed to have gotten live feed but also had no sound!
couldn't hear the peepers, drove around the county here at darktime trying to find some peeping, no luck
There is some serious high water out here ! And every little mountain rivulet is headed straight for the creeks....amazing stuff, got lots of pictures will load them in a little while
and it rained like H-E double hockey sticks while I was out !
Lolly my luck sure ran out for Okla nest.
:(
Very wet in the wetland in back here. I went out and took a look. Plenty of water for spring peepers. Maybe I'll go out and take a listen.
I actually put one picture and one picture only of a spider web on one of the Momsters albums...
think it was in the summertime
Yeah, I try to consider Lynn too and give her notice NOT TO LOOK !!
I saw some people driving through high water that they SHOULD NOT HAVE ! they would not have gotten swept away but it was up over their tires and by rights, they should have stalled out...I had to drive the long way to every place I went to, just about, exept out near where GG lives
would be rather comical if Boris made any noises we could pick up at the nest...but I think NOT
Sounds nice, Paula, your having Michael around for a few days ☺
I saw some large logs practically trees floating down the creek
Dinner over. Tasted good.
Paula, hope the shower brought lots of goodies and am sure the dresser will be much appreciated.
Need to check for spidey if I can get the live feed.
Still raining here.
Isn't it interesting that just when we most need our cams and live streams, there are problems?
BBL
What was that? Our eagle fussing at something? Spidey?
well shucks I can't find the slideshow, but the two sets of pics are on Magpies Roost from March 19 last year, maybe I will find that slideshow somewhere.
gives you an idea of Spidey's size if you want to see that
going to load up pictures now
and will be back in a little while
xo
My cam has being going 1 hour and 16 minutes. Still hear the peepers. Sounds like a great summer night.
I almost forgot!
I love turnips and potatoes together with lots of butter and salt and pepper...even grew some once upon a time
wish I had some right now !!
