Good SUNNY morning, Eagle dudettes and dudes! What a surprise to wake up to sun and not rain!! Maybe the weatherpeople were wrong!! Bright rays shining in my face---makes it hard to compute here in office! I'll go to old thread and get the gang!
Good morning everyone. Ana is home and hopefully had a good night. Dex and I are back from coffee and dog treats which he did eat this morning :-). We are on our way to Walmsrt. I saw my first robin yesterday. A sign of things to come I am sure. Glad the sun is shining out your way. Zooming in at NBG again. Well maybe today is the day. Really getting down to the wire there for egg number one I think, but heck I have been cracking up for a couple of days now so what do I know :-). My live cam is humming away too. It was the refresh and get the circle for a while this morning but when I came back from coffee there it was. Hope it will work all day for me.
Have NBG up. She just rolled the eggs but no sign of hatching. She does keep looking down like she knows something is going on. Come on eaglet...you can do it!!!
Happy 50th to Steve! Hope you have a great day! You too, Lynne!
Lolly be sure Jack knows that prayers are coming his way!
Lynne - Happy that Steve has off on his 50th birthday! Let him know that it doesn't get much better then 50 and sure do wish him a great day and year ahead.
Checked on my MN GHO - She is sitting pretty. Keep a watch on NBG family to be!
Lolly, hope Jack has an easy go of it. Prayers for sure. Let us know when home and all is well!
Another sad obit today.....former neighbor passed away. She had been diagnosed with lung cancer last year. Go figure....makes me wonder why I've made it 5 yrs. Her late ex was also a former co-worker.
Morning to EVERYONE (don't want to miss anyone)on this thread. Happy Eagle Morning to you ALL!!
Ooooppppppsss I'm getting my 2's mixed up Lynn2, Lynn1, Dana1, and Dana2 tee hee
Well Megan I already planted them. Does that mean I have to stay up all night aiming a hair dryer on them???? I knew Grandmother always said "after the 1st frost around Mothers Day". Knotty me....bad :(
Lynne Happy Birthday to YOUR husband Steve boy a gal can get in a lot of trouble putting one womans man with another woman lol
Lolly prayers going up for Jack and a quick recovery.
Oh yes I couldn't find anything yesterday to put over my nose and mouth when doing the leaves. Terrible asthma attack. This morning I open a drawer and there was the life saver "the Eagle hanky". Worked great and no asthma attack.
Now just have to figure out trash won't take them grrr. So I'm going up to office to ask if the boys in the truck can take them with there yard branches and leaves.
MN Bound - GHO I would love to see the mate (male) come into the nest with food for her! They say the female incubates 90% of the time. I only have 7 viewers on that cam... Don't have a count figure on the NBG cam.
Guess I need to go look at FB and see if the Train has headed down the road. I am sure T-Bird got them up/running by 5am....
OH, BTW, I read that they are going to have area school children submit names for the Caltrans eaglets, and then vote on them. Can't remember if everyone gets to vote or just the kids...
Ya know, I was just thinking last night...I saw our eagle up and standing by the bowl, peering into it. I hope, and I believe they will, keep up the incubation. Our very first egg was laid on Feb 2, so by the time this egg hatches, presuming it's #4 in there, they would be incubating for 7 weeks...
There are some comments from Bev and Sharon and Thelma on FB. I think they have arrived Megan ?? is that a pic of the beach? If so then Sharon has her shoes off standing in the sand! Train and Beach - all in one day! She will never be the same.....
Meeting past coworkers for lunch Be back this afternoon......
03/10/10: We updated the Eagle Cam Web Log with five new videos of our eaglets.
And as a reminder, we recently finished Part 2 of our Eagle Cam Gallery and opened Part 3. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Come to our 10th Annual Eagle Festival on March 13
I am in penalty again...guess I opened too many cams yesterday---argh!! Can't decide whether to pay the $5 to get out or not. Verizon service won't be ready until the 19th, even tho' the equipment came yestaerday.
Love the image of the chattering teeth!! LOL.
7 weeks---poor Belle and Lib...a really long haul.
Megan, did you see in Herald where the Elvey greenhouse burned in McConnellsburg? Total loss of business, plus two apartments. Sad. Apparent heater malfunction.
Sharon, or was it Sissy, posted more mobile pictures on fb. One is of Train's RV and the other is of the marque. Hope they are not arrested for stalking. lol Love the picture of the feet in the sand.
Time to eat a bite and then walk. Do not know if Jack is going to walk with me or not. Gotta find out. He is not to eat or drink. Guess I can forgive him for not walking.
Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 9:47AM | MN Bound Editor Snow showers would be more typical for this time of year in March. Instead, we are dealing with rain. In fact, we are getting a lot of it. On my morning commute today I saw the first bolt of lightning followed by a crack of thunder. Depending upon where you live, this may not be a big deal right now, but for us Minnesotans, this is huge. Spring is here!
So as we watch today we must remember what our Owl is going through. The temps outside are hovering in the high 30's to low 40's. Not exactly warm rains for her egging pleasure. This should give us a better understanding as to why there has been such little movement on the owls part. We must remember that if she has to abandon those eggs for even a short period of time that all could be lost. Determination is an understatement when you really consider what she is doing. To watch this is pretty darn incredible.
The forecast today also calls for fairly high winds. This you will notice in the swaying back and forth of the tree. Despite all of the elements that us humans consider terrible, our owl looks at peace. Just sitting and warming her young while tucked in a tight ball letting the winds, rain and cold pound away on her. Hmmm, I also have to wonder where our eagles are on this rainy day and what they are doing...
Oldest gd now has the bug...they just had to go pick her from school. Poor kid played nurse to Carolyn and Jenn and they thought she had escaped the germs...NOT!
On FB there is are more pics from the Train gang....is Thelma with a member of the band??? Looks like a band tour bus in one!!! And guess Sharon's "feet in water" pic is current....but no comments showing! Bet that water is cold.
Gotta run! But have to say NBG is hatching. Watched closely for 30 min. at 12:10 say dark area. 12:20 saw one end of the egg wide open and moving. Yea!
Breaking News ============================== Md. House Votes To Ban Reading Texts While Driving
Maryland's House of Delegates has voted to prohibit reading text messages while driving. Violators of the proposed ban would be guilty of a misdemeanor and could face fines of up to $500. WELL DUH!!!!!
Photo is there on glo's Glimpses. Guess Dad is waiting for Mom to come back and feed or maybe not. Seems to be being bothered again by something. I think this nest has some unwanted flybyes pretty often from what i have been watching. My guess is most on now are at the NBG chatroom listening to the officials. Interesting but it is what it is. Happy to see an egg broken and hoping little one is just fine.
Watching sweet baby look at parent really quick. Not going to video my computer is way too full for all that now. There will be lots of videos but little one appears just fine :-) Congrats to NBG and your first hatch of this year.
Congrats to NBG! Wish momma would show us ! Gotta say....some of the questions are their chat are very humorous. Hoping that it was a child asking "do eagles have tongues?".
Official time for first hatch is 1:10pm - this was the 1st time we could definitively see the empty 1/2 eggshell by VDGIF at 3/11/2010 6:59:17 PM1:59 PM
LOL MeMa Jo Should I send them my picture. Well lunch is over. Sun is shining and Dex and I are going strolling. Looks like the parent on the nest knows the little one is needing some rest before that first meal. I might miss that but Dex and I are out of here for a while.
Paula, where are the BWE chicks? I've been on the blog this few times, and love watching the eagle cams, especially now that the eaglets are ready to hatch!
I just got back from several errands. Got our cam up sounds windy up there.
Need to read comments and check out NBG.
Oh remember the seagull up in Conn. that after the Osprey left. He made the nest home and I called him Oscar. Well in the WalMart parking lot. Sea gulls where flying around. I had a fish sandwich so I threw out a piece of bread. Down came the sea gull right by my car Ocsar got fed lol
Clouds have rolled in and it's starting to get a bit breezy here. Bet rain isn't too far away.
My gd just found a big toad near their garage! Hard to believe they would be out yet---let alone have eaten enough to be fat!! He's a good size for keeping....wish I had my terrarium set up...:(
How eggciting for NBG!!!Another tiny fuzzy to add to the semi-local collection. Been off 'puter---busy with this and that. Tried to do some emails, but the contact list won't open or put auto-addresses on letters!!!Guess I'll do snail mail! Didn't put pictures on, but last & this week at Park saw our cute little Chippy! His holes in the ground had been covered w/feet of snow & I didn't know if he survived. But I put some sunflower seeds near his burrow,& later he was there!!
Wish I had been looking longer at our egg well.... sometimes it just looks like 2 instead of 1. But I really didn't get a pic or see in the egg well except for a second or two.
Okay, I saw where they want massive amounts. Sorry, do not have that many. Jack has now shelled 24 gallon bags of pecans, will end up with 25. They should surely end up with donations of hard shell pecans. Do not want to part with my commercial soft shell pecans. I eat them!
Been watching on and off all day after I got back.
Lol Hope sure makes her sounds. The lady that runs our Mobile Home Park was just here. I brought up Lilly's cam. Her husband is on police and had to have surgery. I showed him the site so he can get Lilly and Hope up. Sad our cam won't stay up. Her husband tries to get it. He did get to see the West Virginia book with our eagles in it. Gave her the NBG cam also. Things he can watch while recovering. Showed her the video;s at Lilly's site for him to look at too. She just loved Hope making all those sounds. lol
Merlin Olsen passed away...former LA Ram, tv announcer, and, of course, Mr. Garvey on Little House. Lung cancer....... Two more in two days. Think my time is running out.
Checking out my TV shows for the evening.... I have one at 9:00 and then my Mentalist at 10:00.
Got a message from Bev on FB Mobile that everything was wonderful. I reminded her about the head count before leaving the concert! Don't want them leaving anyone behind! lol
Not a nerd at all, Lynne. They don't make good family shows like that anymore. I still enjoy them. Jo, I watched The Good Wife!!! THought I had commented on it to you...???? Maybe not.
Thanks, gang, butr I live with the reality every day. Was only given 1-2 yrs.....so I've well surpassed that. Also been losing a lot of folks on my lung cancer blog lately. It is what it is. One day at a time!!
Lynne - is Steve's upside-down-pineapple cake all gone? It sure is one of my favorite. Next time we get together you can bring that and Lynn can bring another chocolate cake with p-nut butter icing.
You can tell I have been denied sweets for quite a few months now!
No Jo, still some left! I haven't had any because I am....uh, WAS trying to be good. However, we went to Red Lobster (courtesy of some gift cards from Christmas) and I ate some of those ever so yummy biscuits they serve....SO, I'll be exercising all day tomorrow! My new eating plan is amazing....I am down 8lbs now!! Or I was, until I ate too much at dinner!
Lynn don't think like that. You know doctors they are wrong all the time. You have beat the odds so far and will continue with our prayers. Lynne Happy Birthday to Steve Off to watch TV.
OK, well now that it's dark, I can see NBG, although I had to pull it up on IE. Not sure about what's going on with Firefox. Couldn't get Valmont on there either. I can't wait to see the new baby and I'm more anxious than ever to see OUR baby Palmer!
By the way MMMMMMHHHHHHEEEEEDDDDDIIIIEEEEE - Lynn I don't want to hear you say that again. You have to stick around and help me make it with you and the rest of my eagle friends.
Just talked with Kathryn. She said she has called the doctor because Luna's eye is really red, but the doctor thinks it is normal. She goes back to the doctor on Tuesday.
The prosthesis is placed into Luna's own eye.It does not have to be removed and cleaned or anything like that. They white part of her eye is still there.
I'm heading for the shower. Sort of looking forward to some rain because I love listening to rain while I fall asleep! Of course I'm not looking forward to so MUCH rain as we may be getting. But it's going to be warm, and I'll get out to the sun porch where everything has just been "thrown" all winter and get it shaped up! Sure glad that roof held!
When Luna was here, she looked up at me, and her eye looked quite normal. It was a little red then. If you look really closely, I think the two eyes do not look exactly the same, but if you did not know, you would not notice it.
Good to see you checking in, Shirley. Should we send out a redhead alert on Judie? Sorry you gals are so very busy. Hope you both have quiet weekends planned.
I watched 2 shows... and I did have a good lunch date with gals with whom I used to work. Jenny is meeting me tomorrow - she is looking for some shoes and other items. Going to mall so rain won't mean anything.
Good (Late) Evening, Everyone! Just got home from school. Had 2 tests tonight in my Med. Transcription Practice 2 class. Think I did OK on both of them. Boy, it's been a busy week! Last night after I got home from school my Sis-in-law was here, so we got to visit. Slept in really late this morning, and studied for my tests all day. Oh---
A SOMEWHAT LATE HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY TO LYNNE2'S STEVE!!! HOPE IT'S BEEN A REALLY GOOD ONE!!!!
Lynn, you are still here because God still has a purpose for you're being here! I firmly believe that He doesn't call us home until we've fulfilled our purpose. So hang in there! You're not done yet! ((HUGS)) :o]
Was thrilled to see that my daffodil and my tulips are open! Will have to take a picture and share it.
Lynn, glad to hear you've got sunshine back there! Surely that will help to cheer you up! Hope your GD recuperates quickly--darn old flu, anyway! Prayers for her!
Saying some prayers for Lolly's Jack, too--hope he's feeling 100% very soon!
Shirley, that's amazing how Luna's prosthesis works--prayers for her, too. Hope the redness goes away VERY soon!
Hope Judie gets a good night's rest--she must be really tired!
I'm going to go watch Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. Prayers said for everyone. The night light is on, the porch light is automatic, and the eye scanner security is enabled. Sleep well, eagle buddies, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Good night, and God bless! Love every single one of you! :o]
Hi Lori, things were just getting dried out here, but looks like it will get very soggy. Rains will surely be a benefit in the long run for plants. Guess the tiller will have to stay in the garage for awhile longer though.
MORNIN' SUNNY LOLLY!---Keeping JACK in my thoughts & prayers!---Remember I told you how much my dental bill has been & still climbing....He (my dentist) 'FLEW' to NY yesterday to see the game!--JACK will think that funny! ho!--HUGS!--HUGS! for both of you!!
Good morning everyone. Don't think I will watch the cams today. I need sunshine and am hoping to see it :-). Think Dex and I will pack up his stroller and my camera and heck maybe even take the tripod and head off to a park in IA a little north of us. Enjoy your day.

I really like the new format at NBG, less chatter, and more answers by the experts, and I agree with them, people should read the sites they posted.

Then I have an errand to run.

There they go...chattering off the side of the table.
Back outside, 82° in the gh. If you come over, please bring tropical drinks.

Lolly - hope everything goes well for Jack...
Lynne- they still have the unmoderated chat at NBG...and yes I agree people should check out their links and do a little reading...
They did a good job trying to keep up with all the questions last night.
several schools are in there now, I love that the schools come to visit, gets the young involved in loving eagles, and there are no trolls.
OH, BTW, I read that they are going to have area school children submit names for the Caltrans eaglets, and then vote on them. Can't remember if everyone gets to vote or just the kids...

aww poor thing, Lynn...just goes right thru the family like a freight train..
OMG did someone say Train...
oh shoots...my bad:(
Okay....I paid the stupid $5...back in business.
ROFL, Mits!!! It's rolling down the track!! Never realized how many times we reference a train until it became such a big deal!
On FB there is are more pics from the Train gang....is Thelma with a member of the band??? Looks like a band tour bus in one!!! And guess Sharon's "feet in water" pic is current....but no comments showing! Bet that water is cold.
Well, maybe it's just feet in sand!
2nd one is definitely water!! Guess it's really the 1st one...:)
yeah, well next year they can get their butts up to the Chesapeake and plunge for Special Olympics..lol
yes the "T" word, got to remember to stop using it.
now see, just got my noon Baltimore headlines and the "T" word is there, can't get away from it.....
Training Exercise Leads To Arrests At Lexington Market
A police training exercise paid off at Lexington Market, as two robbery attempts

see, can't get away...;)
Funny, Mits! Agree that a plunge is definitely called for!
Gotta run! But have to say NBG is hatching. Watched closely for 30 min. at 12:10 say dark area. 12:20 saw one end of the egg wide open and moving. Yea!

I am taking break
BBILW
I just got back from several errands. Got our cam up sounds windy up there.
Need to read comments and check out NBG.
Oh remember the seagull up in Conn. that after the Osprey left. He made the nest home and I called him Oscar. Well in the WalMart parking lot. Sea gulls where flying around. I had a fish sandwich so I threw out a piece of bread. Down came the sea gull right by my car Ocsar got fed lol
Speaking of which, I hope they get their cam up soon, and it runs better this year than last...
Lots of Osprey cams should be coming back online soon...
Sun is shining on BWE chicklets head.
Belle on duty our nest
Lots of pretty birdie tweets at our nest lately :)
Always amazes me that we have seagulls so far inland. They always seem to hang out in parking lots.
Clouds have rolled in and it's starting to get a bit breezy here. Bet rain isn't too far away.
My gd just found a big toad near their garage! Hard to believe they would be out yet---let alone have eaten enough to be fat!! He's a good size for keeping....wish I had my terrarium set up...:(
WE cam has been down since sometime on Tuesday, I think....wonder if they have a second egg yet?
Great about Norfolk eaglet...
I see that Eagle at BWO
Good Afternoon Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s

Going for a haircut, catch ya;ll much later!
But I put some sunflower seeds near his burrow,& later he was there!!
chick in view at NBG
well it was, eagle stepped in front of it
Happy B'day to Lynne's Steve!!!!
they are busy on the NBG cam....
We can not post all the questions and comments. There are over 3,300 viewers now - and many are posting. Thank you.

Margy, have a good evening!
Hey Lolly and Jack! Lily's folks are begging for raw pecans!!
eagle eating at our nest
well it was just poofed
eagle back...sounds windy..
Wish I had been looking longer at our egg well.... sometimes it just looks like 2 instead of 1. But I really didn't get a pic or see in the egg well except for a second or two.
Hello all! We be home. All is well. Jack is hungry so must feed him soon.
I just knew I saw hatching! An hour before it was announced I saw the egg with a wide crack in it! Jack saw it too.
Have a name for the new eaglet too! How about TRAIN?! LOL Sharon was there!
Who needs pecans?
I only saw 1 that time
Hi everyone! Just checking in, battery running low so have to catch up on desktop and bbl
BW eaglets all alone.
Hmmmmm......did y'all get the email from Big Rig Steve? Wonder what the baddie said? Good that Steve kicked him/her off the team!
yes, just got it....why don't you email Red to find out who it was and what they said, Lynn.
Okay, I saw where they want massive amounts. Sorry, do not have that many. Jack has now shelled 24 gallon bags of pecans, will end up with 25. They should surely end up with donations of hard shell pecans. Do not want to part with my commercial soft shell pecans. I eat them!
chick in view NBG
Just saw the NBG chick. It is still a little wobbly but looking good.
Lolly, it's on FB....just assume they mean Lily...????
Okay, Mits, I will!
yes Ceil, they are saying it looks strong
Lynn, I saw it on fb. Well, I love Lily but I also love my pecans.
Do not have the amount they would like.
Just read throught the NBG blog, they spotted the egg when I did. Wow! For once I there at the right time.
Leaving to prepare dinner. Jack is hungry and well, so am I. Tonight a special effort dinner...salmon croquettes and green onion sauce.
BBL
Is my shamrock moving and glittery to you all? It's supposed to be, but isn't on my end!
no it is not glittering, but if you click on it on your FB page it does.
She just loved Hope making all those sounds. lol
Check out our cam - night light is on
and SPIDEY is spreading out!
Lolly, glad Jack is feeling well enough for a special dinner!!!
Sounds like Sharon will go to NBG tomorrow. They are doing well with their TRAIN adventure so far!
Don't want them leaving anyone behind! lol
Hedgie - I expect you to be around for a long time - you are to ornery to go anywhere yet!
Hedgie - did you miss seeing The Good Wife the other evening?
Bev's message back to me is...
"Love you Jo! Will definitely do a head count!!"
OK, I have only read back a few posts but LYNN, STOP IT. Please don't think that way :( You're gonna be around a long time!
BTW, that's sad about Merlin Olsen. and PS, I STILL watch Little House reruns. I'm such a nerd!
Mits, they just said on news that MD had already banned writing/sending texts before now.
Nope, not glittering on my FB either, but it was when I forst put it on.
Flood warnings posted here for Fri. AM- Sat. PM. Oh-oh!! Glad I'm not close enough to the river to have that problem.
Hello everybody!
Happy birthday, Steve!
Steve says to say thanks again for all of the birthday wishes!
Hi Shirley! Do you still have that stack of papers to go thru?
NBG has their first hatch.
Shirley, how is Luna?
I still can't get NBG.
Time for Jeopardy. BBL.
Lynn don't think like that. You know doctors they are wrong all the time. You have beat the odds so far and will continue with our prayers.
Lynne Happy Birthday to Steve
Off to watch TV.
BWE had no adults in it just a little while ago. Hard to see the chicks. Thought the nest was empty.
OK, well now that it's dark, I can see NBG, although I had to pull it up on IE. Not sure about what's going on with Firefox. Couldn't get Valmont on there either. I can't wait to see the new baby and I'm more anxious than ever to see OUR baby Palmer!
Sure hope the Bluefield delegation has fun and don't get soaked at NBG! Shame the weather is going to be so bad for the Eagle Festival :(
Goint to go eat my din din by the tv.
By the way MMMMMMHHHHHHEEEEEDDDDDIIIIEEEEE - Lynn I don't want to hear you say that again. You have to stick around and help me make it with you and the rest of my eagle friends.
Haven't talked to Kathryn in a couple of days. I just tried to call her, but got no answer. I have been coming home and just crashing this week.
I'll always have a pile of papers, Jo. It just grows and grows. Some of us think they reproduce when we aren't looking.
Dinner was delish!! Not salmon, but crab cakes.
Yes, Jack recovered really rapidly. Not needing pain pills either! We were out of there fast!
Lynn, Lynn, Lynn...what are we going to do with you? Think positive girl!!!!!
That's good news Shirley!
Prayers for all of you and have a good night!
Jo, you have mail!
Poor Luna! that is wild that part of her eye remains.
Thanks Lynne
Guess I am going to start on slides now. I'll work on them while I watch Greys and PP.
BBL
When Luna was here, she looked up at me, and her eye looked quite normal. It was a little red then. If you look really closely, I think the two eyes do not look exactly the same, but if you did not know, you would not notice it.
I'm ready to head upstairs. See you tomorrow.
Good to see you checking in, Shirley. Should we send out a redhead alert on Judie? Sorry you gals are so very busy. Hope you both have quiet weekends planned.
Raining in Norfolk now..........wonder if the train has left the station yet?
I think the TRAIN is on stage.
I watched 2 shows... and I did have a good lunch date with gals with whom I used to work. Jenny is meeting me tomorrow - she is looking for some shoes and other items. Going to mall so rain won't mean anything.
I'm going to get ready to head down the hall....
I check out how the Train adventure turned out in the morning!
Good night and Prayers for all
(((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥
Heading for tub. Will check back before I hit the hay.
Finished my tray of slides.
Jack is having some complications. In touch with the doctor. Things were going to smoothly, I guess.
Just watched the today's video of Hope and Lily. Just too cute! I think I want a baby bear!!!
Heading to bed shortly. Hope this is going to be a restful night. Do not want and emergency run to the hospital.
Sweet dreams everyone!
Raining here steadily. 8 legged creature outside basement door---the worst part of warmer weather for me. Yuck!
Saying goodnight now, and
Happy 91st Birthday to my dear Daddy in Heaven. I love you, Daddy.
Is that both Lib & Belle covering the nest?
Ahhh, poor Belle. I don't think this could have been a rougher nesting season for her.
Exciting to see the new baby at NBG!
52° and raining. Belle is tenting, both adults at BWE nest, maybe they are gonna switch.
Nope, looks like the male brought in a fish and laid it right beside the female at BWE
Good Morning Meghan - is all the rain going to be good for your plants?
//////////////////////
GOOD morning,
EverY OnE .
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
I'm up in the middle of the night out here in So Cal, and I decided to take a quick look at the nests. Looks fine as far as the ones I looked at.
Have a good Fri-Sat-Sun.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Hi Lori, things were just getting dried out here, but looks like it will get very soggy. Rains will surely be a benefit in the long run for plants. Guess the tiller will have to stay in the garage for awhile longer though.
Egg roll our nest
Whew, the nests are wet, ours, BWE and Norfolk....and hundreds in between that we can't see...
Good Morning everyone ☺
